My mother sent me a S7 Edge from T-Mobile (SM-G935T) to give my aunt. I received it, removed my mother's e-mail from it, reseted to factory settings and after log-on, FRP popped in. It asked for a email previously configured, so i got my own again and worked just fine. Send it to my aunt that didn't knew how to configure a new email for her and i think she sent for some friends to try it. Everybody apparently got a e-mail there and tried to format, i have no further info about that. The problem is... She sent me the smartphone again and now i can't get passed FRP.
TL;DL: Can't get passed FRP.
FRP lock = To prevent stolen phones to be used. Log in to the Google account you used before wiping.
@Eric1084, the think is that my account is no longer able to log in cause the device was sent to multiple persons that tried and got their account there.
@Eric1084, the think is that my account is no longer able to log in cause the device was sent to multiple persons that tried and got their account there.
You should contact the people you've given access to the phone, and ask whether they forgot to remove their account from the device prior to wiping it. You can ask them to temporarily change their Google account password, so you can log in and remove their account. Any other solution will be attempting to circumvent Samsung's safety measure to prevent stolen phones from being activated/used.

Everyone who's eager for the 3.2 release tried updating their tablet using the built in option however came across various issues.
I tried signing in but kept getting the same "wrong password" error and then even tried creating a new account using a different email and was unable to.
When I called Samsung the only thing the tech advised me to do was to perform a factory reset which I'm sure everyone knows is most electronic companies "cure for all things" and I hate performing it.
I refused to go this route and stood my ground with the tech. The only resolution he provided was for a hard reset but I refused. If a website is telling me that the password is incorrect surely there must be a way to reset it!
He kept putting me on hold but finally provided me with this website which should solve any and all "wrong password" issues
http://www.samsungdive.com
If you go there and perform a password reset or create a new account the account should allow you to sync.
Once on the website click on Log In and it will provide with options to reset or create a new account!
Good luck guys and if this works for you please "thank"
I was able to use this website to fix the samsung account on my SGT. It still says "sync is off" in the account tab for my samsung account, but maybe thats by design? Either way thanks for the site
You need to exit out of that and go into apps. Hit Samsung apps and go through that apps setup process. Then you should be able to do your sync through the samsung sync sign in.
This does seems to work. I confirmed it.
I also received the same link in an email a few days ago - but I guess their website was not working, because it still failed for me. I responded to that email and **** all over Samsung's ****ty support. I guessed they somehow listenend.
Anyway - this is Working!!!!. Login to this website, reset your samsung.com account's password. It will send you an email, confirm that and change your new password. Then use these exact credentials to logon on the GT 10.1. But First, clear the cache of Samsung Apps and Samsung Account.
guys, this is NOT Samsung apps (as stated in the previous two posts!!!!!!) you need to login to, but login by creating another Samsung account under settings, accounts...., with those credentials.
Thanks, got it working. I didn't even know we had to put our Samsung account on to the tablet.
Didn't workm Screw Samsung
Alas none of these worked for me. I even closed the samsung account and started a new one and this thing did not work . Just the same ... I won't ever purchase a samsung mobile device after this... I mean i got burned with the galaxy tab 7 taking so long to get updated then it was the galaxy S phones now this... I am done..... Sorry Samsung you just lost a customer. These quirks are unacceptable esepcially seeing how much we pay for these devices.... Straight to Ebay this tablet is going. I will just hold off until sometime after Christmas... by then a better tablet by a better company that cares about its US Customers will surface. So if anyone wants to buy a 32GB Metallc Galaxy Tab 10.1 with the book case and the USB dongle. Hit me up. Samsung I am done.!!!!
Nice Tablet but crummy support and in this day and age to have such a stupid quirk with a website....
im sorry your having those issues dude, mine is running perfectly and today miraculously it took my samsung accounta nd logged me in after having made so many unsuccessful attempts.
I don't have this elusive "Samsung Apps", I'm rooted can I download it somewhere? Thanks.

My Tab's Samsung Account isn't sync'd, and I have never signed into Samsung Apps and have downloaded a few things. I didn't even know you were required to, because I never did.
I checked for updates and it says there isn't one available, but am wondering if it is working correctly or not.
I have the Samsung Apps app and it works, but under accounts it shows that Samsung account is not syncing and no option to enable sync. I went to Samsungdive.com and I was able to log into my account there. There are no settings in the samsung apps app.
So what is the deal with samsung sync? Are you instructions for getting that working? I am a bit confused. Thanks
So should this Samsung account thing be syncing? Mine isn't and i even tried the factory reset, still says "Sync is OFF" Anyone got any help.
I recently changed my password for my samsung account now i cant even connect to samsung account keep getting wrong password very very frustrating!
I tried going to samsungdive, it won't even recognize my samsung account. i cant make a new one with any of the 3 emails I have, I cant sign in with any of them either, only on samsung.com
I tried recovering a password and it even says my email doesn't exist in their system....garbage. then I try to make a new account and it says to enter a valid email.... what the phuckkkkkkkkkkkk
I really don't understand this samsung account sync, I created an account when I first started tab, able to login to samsungdive.com but my tab shows that it is not syncing in the accounts/sync options.
Every few times at startup I get a FC with the samsung account.
WTF
This sucks.
I'm guessing what I'm about to detail is the same as everyone else:
1: On first boot of my pre-touchwiz GT10.1, I created some sort of Samsung account.
2: Every boot since then prompted me with two force close messages, both being some sort of Samsung process, blah, blah, blah.
3: Today, I get the touchwiz update, it installs.
4: I can log into Samsung Dive website with my established Samsung account no problem, and it knows I have a GT10.1. But it can't do anything with it, saying I have to enable Google Location Services, and Remote Control.
5. I go into settings on the GT10.1, Google Location Services is already enabled, Remote Control is not. I attempt to enable it, but get a prompt for a password with a blank ID. It will not take my KNOWN Samsung Account password. I can't delete it and create a new one without doing a factory reset.
Is there a solution to this pile of horsecrap yet??
I also can't login when attempting to update. I don't have an account specifically on my GT for samsung, but did register on line when I purchased it. Is this a common problem? Perhaps we were supposed to create the samsung account using the accounts option in settings.
BTW, my error is incorrect password even though I can login to the website. I can see my registration info

I have similar problem; I set up and registered my 10.1 and can access it at Samsung.com "My Account". I was told to set up recovery etc at samsungdive.com and could not sign in and was told that I had to create a new account there using a different email (Dumb), I did and can sign in but can't do anything else? I am waiting for an answer from tech via email. Even on the samsungdive page it says one account works for all?
Also on 10.1 under Settings:Location & security:find my mobile;remote controls if I check that box it has my correct account email but won't accept my password? This was when I first called tech and they told me to use samsung dive. Somewhere Samsung doesn't have their act together.
(oops, redundant info).

UPDATE
My brother in law somehow managed to install ransomware on his sprint galaxy s7, me not knowing about removing it with safe mode went into recovery mode and did a factory reset. WELL now i know he forgot his gmail account and now I am dealing with Samsung's Factory Reset Protection, It was Very Frustrating to me not knowing this was the issue as I was under the impression that he knew his google account. So Currently I am trying to bypass this.
Does anyone know if he takes his device into the sprint store if they can verify it is his phone and lift this?
Is the only way to get it back is to either remember the account (how he forgot boggles my mind) or to do one of the bypass methods that have yet to be patched?
How do you restore the device? Will it work if the original Gmail account is used but with a new password or will it only work with the original Username and password?
It lets him set his gmail account and password but then it does the Verification Text which does not come through?
What Exactly is required to pass the Factory Reset Protection?
How do I resolve this issue?
Thanks for reading
this worked for me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVmcr13qDkI&t=0s
I can't believe someone on XDA would recommend another to Youtube!!. Those videos are a bunch of scammers trying to get everyone to do surveys now. Total crap.
Actually... Most of the YouTube videos DO work.. if you want to avoid surveys and etc, they have a feature called "comments".
Actually, That is CRAP. Not true at all.

Hello!,
Just recently purchased an unlocked S7 SM-G935F phone several weeks back, and got locked of the google account. I can't get password from google because I think the password was compromised. Google refuses to provide the password or reset it. So, my question is how can I modify this phone without having the developers tab tap 7 times get back to it's original firmware? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Sorry but you didn't give enough information.
First of all, if the phone is not yours, give it back to the owner or don't try to access data without passwords: it is illegal, though impossible too.
If it's your legitimate property you can reset your google password with the methods you configured. If you find no way suggested to recover your password you will have to contact directly google customer service and hope they will try to verify your identity and give you someway access to your data, and device too.
The thing of developer option it's not correlate to your problem, maybe you want to install a custom aoftware (rom, kernel etc) but you didn't say that. And anyway there are tons of guides which you maybe already read. If your device is locked there's no way to recover it without your google password. Don't try flash strange things you will brick it.
Suspect

Nope, it's my phone. I purchased it several weeks ago as mentioned before. I have a receipt from Amazon as proof. I honestly got locked out of the phone and can't recall the exact password because I probably tossed it away. I've called google 4 times still no avail. I would like to install a custom rom if possible. Any other suggestions? Id be willing to donate a few bucs.

Then go back to the Amazon seller and ask him/her.
I'm sorry but if you write here on xda you will likely find people who know what is going on. And anyone would be suspicious if you're asking to bypass a security lock. There are 2 cases, one is that that ain't not your device, the other is that you're so dumb to lock a 700$ device with a password you don't remember saying bull****s like " the password was compromised " or, which is fantastic, " I called Google 4 times" like if they have a number to call to get Samsung assistance. I'm really happy theres no way to acces phone without correct psw, but if you want you can keep waisting your time.Mods please throw away this tief
You forgot or "lost" your Google password? This doesn't sound right.
Why not recover your Google password using their online system?
"I cant recall the password because I probably tossed it away"
Love the "probably". Can be hard to keep track of bulls***.
Make your mind up - find a lie and stick to it. Did you probably toss it away or is the password "compromised"?
Good luck trying to fool anyone in here to help you out with your "problem".
If it was legitimately yours, then you would've set up a fingerprint and not only a password, don't you think that would've been smart? That way you would've not been "locked out of phone". Emphasis on "If it was legitimately yours".
Smell test is clear...
Password was compromised, password was tossed away... sounds legit!
I've actually done what this guy has but I did it on a freshy right outta the box with me swing the first owner. However this does seem suspect I would help if I knew you were the first and only owner but seeing you're not I cant.
I'm in the same boat. My father-in-law somehow got his S7 edge locked and forgot his google password at the same time. He went to a Verizon store, but they only told him to recover via google. He shipped the phone to me to try and help him unlock it. Google password recovery is by 3 methods:
1) send a text to the phone. Of course this doesn't help because I can't unlock the phone. I hear the tone when the text comes in, but can't retrieve it
2) Sends a code to another email associated with the google account. He swears its his daughter's email address, but when we put that code in, google says it doesn't recognize her email as authorized
3) tell google what month & year the account was created. He can't remember that either
At this point, I'm willing to pay someone to fix it. I believe it has the newest Nougat firmware. I tried many suggestions from YouTube, but I can't even get to the menu where you connect to a wifi signal.
Anyone willing to help or just think I stole the phone like the previous guy?

THANK YOU!. At least I made some progress. Now I find myself in an endless loop...the phone keeps saying "This device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on this device".
My father-in-law has 2 Google accounts. Having put his sim in my phone, I was able to reset passwords for both of these Google accounts, but the phone doesn't like either of them.
Any more suggestions?
Oh. Without the sim, I was finally prompted to connect to a wifi.
Is it possible that no Google account was synced with this device?

I've fixed (can now log in) two of my father-in-law's google accounts. Its just that the phone isn't recognizing either of them now. I don't know if he has a 3rd account of if it was possible to set up the phone without one. I'm on Verizon with an iPhone so I don't know anything about android or google.
Read that you have to wait 24 hours after changing Google password, so I'll try it again tonight.
the scotsman - You are my F*CKING hero! 24 hours after resetting the google password, the S7 edge recognizes it and is now unlocked. My father-in-law (& mother-in-law) thank you.

Hello,
My wife and I recently sold our Sprint S7 Edge phones on eBay. I factory wiped them and dropped them in the mail. I was contacted by the buyers saying they cannot get them activated or turned on because of some kind of Google lock. I've never heard of this until I was contacted. In the old days, you just wiped them and went on your way. I did some quick research and discovered that FRP is a thing. I obviously want to help these buyers get the items that they bought working. I doubt it is as easy as clicking remove access to the devices via https://myaccount.google.com/device-activity because it is probably some sort of local protection? I don't want to give 2 strangers my password, but I read about changing my password to something temporary and then giving that person my login and utilizing 2 pass authentication to allow the device to get cleared and then changing my password to something I actually want again. I used the money from the sale of my phones to purchase the new phones so I really can't just afford to refund the phones and take them back. Is there something Google customer service can do?
thanks,
-c
I'm pretty sure they are gonna need a password, unless we have a bypass frp guide here on xda
So I reset the password to a junk password for the purposes of sharing. I'm thinking this should work.
1. let him enter the junk password.
2. when I get the 2fa popup say "yes"
3. once I accept that device, promptly change the password and say "log out all devices on this account"
4. reset password to something I actually want
5. he can set his own google account on the device
This google account has no financials or anything. I'm thinking that step 3 performed seconds after the 2fa prompt should be enough
What say you?

This will work fine. once the account logs in once, it will ask the owner of the phone if they want to save the account or not (if they have malicious intent then may click on yes) so once you confirmed they got passed the lock and you accepted the login 2fa prompt, immediately change password then log out of all devices.
That is the plan. I'll have the device manager up on my computer and once the 2FA goes through, I'm going to change the password revoke access on all my devices for good measure. I'll just log back in after.
I really wish Google had something in their system to account for this. My sister did something similar with an iphone and was able to "ok it" on a webpage and release the device.

I just unlocked my Sprint S8 v9.0 running into "sign in using owners account" message
I just unlocked my sprint S8 running android 9.0, my brother set up this phone as a gift with a dummy account cause I was in the hospital at the time, didn't save any of the information, and now I'm trying to get back into my Sprint S8 running Android 9.0. I get to the Verify your account, enter the account ive been using on this phone since I've had it and it says "enter an account of the owner of the device" or something like that.
Can I get past this without that dummy account? I can follow instructions if someone can send me the right information
Thanks in advance
So you probably used a phone number or something to verify that account, right?
That's good in case you do not remember the actual email address.
Use another phone, get to https://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery and do a password re set, using the phone number you used.
It's really easy.

which phone number? I don't have access to the Sprint master account, the phone was set up with a dummy account (we can't remember the random numbers he used at the end) and then while I was using the phone I was using my personal google account. The only one info I have access to easily is my account is the personal, and the dummy account might be borderline lost forever
