Hello,
I am wondering if anyone has any information about the supposed MS update which was to take place on February 7th?
Also, are we going to be notified of this directly by MS through our phone's update feature or Zune? What I mean, is our hacked rom capable of detecting those official updates?
Any information about this will be most welcome.
Thanks guys.

This would be good to know. Especially if the update includes more than what their website says: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-us/features/update-info.aspx
Copy and paste is good (not sure why they missed this from the start being that iPhone got mocked for this so much at their beginning), but I really think they need more in this update.
Does the update have:
- Updated BING to have navigation
- The ability to attach videos to emails/texts (I understand what they are doing here, pushing people to use their "Skydrive")
If it is a "yes" to both of these, I will be jumping back into Windows Phone 7 from Android. The Windows Phone 7 is super slick I think. The number of apps is lacking, but hopefully people will get on board (yahoo fantasy football, espn, etc).
From neowin.net:
Neowin received confirmation from multiple sources, that pins the first Windows Phone 7 update for March 8.
According to the sources - including someone well placed inside a European carrier - the update has been delayed due to last minute changes by Microsoft and/or OEMs. The update must then be tested by carriers for two-three weeks prior to launch.
Updates:
The first update to Windows Phone 7 brings copy & paste, CDMA device support, large performance improvements and better marketplace search. The update, entitled "NoDo" will be the first in a series of updates over the coming months, according to Microsoft. "Mango" is rumored to be next update for Windows Phone 7, which is pinned to bring multi-tasking for third party apps, HTML5 and the IE9 browser engine to the platform.
Supposedly delivered either through Zune or via OTA - but as our ROM has been 'fixed' by the various cooks, i'll probably hold off from either...
Microsoft announced several new Windows Phone 7 features coming in 2011. The first major update is coming next month with Copy and paste functionality and on the second half of this year they will bring more functions to WP7 like.
Twitter integration directly into the People Hub.
Support for Office documents in the cloud.
Dramatically enhanced Web browser experience based on IE9.
A new wave of multitasking applications.
In addition, the phone will be available soon on networks such as Verizon and Sprint.
While checking out my N4 I found the file cabotEL.log containing things like:

This seems to be the bulk of the file. I've looked pretty thoroughly and I haven't been able to identify the culprit.
Has anyone seen this before?

How did you get this out of the file? I have the same thing in my Nexus 4 I noticed today. This is the only post anywhere about it.

Interesting I would like to know as well. I did search for the file but I didn't find any. Do you have location history on? I have it off. I wonder if that's the case or caused by a certain app?

I just found this thread looking for more information on the cabotel.log file. I realise this in an old post, but I'm updating in case it helps anyone else as this is the only relevant hit on google.
Looking through my app install history, I found the cabotel.log started immediately after I installed the plantronics find my headset app. Closer look at the connect / disconnect events show my handsfree's bluetooth mac address.
If you have (had) plantronics find my headset installed, that's probably a safe bet for where the file came from. So long as it doesn't upload this to some third party it's at least helpful tracking data.

I also realize this is an old post but I can confirm this has to do with plantronics find my headset app. My log started on the 24th of this past September same time I got my headset and installed the app.

One or Some of plantronics apps would be..
Plantronics apps tracking your bluetooth devices would be the one you are looking for.
What do you guys think of this brand new bug? Peronsally as big as Google is they should have released patches about these bugs a long time ago...they have the money and the time to do that. Getting a newer version of android won't solve anything until bugs are fully squashed in the ecosystem in my opinion. To be honest it is also the manufactures fault for tweaking and putting different UI's in their phone's. If all androids ran stock linux android the world would be a better place!!!

LG promised yesterday to start sending monthly OTA security updates to in this regard.
In th mean time I advise you to do the following in order to minimise the risk of your LG G3 device being exploited by the Stagefright bug:
Open Messaging > Settings > Multimedia messages > uncheck the "Auto-retrieve" option.
This way it will not automatically open received links.

Any link about this???cause LG isnt very good about updates..
Here you go:
“LG will be providing security updates on a monthly basis which carriers will then be able to make available to customers immediately. We believe these important steps will demonstrate to LG customers that security is our highest priority,” an LG representative told WIRED today in an email.

I guess only time will tell!
35b hopefully contains a stagefright fix.
Has anyone received an update prompt for their S10+ with a build # G975USQU3DTEB? I know Google already forced the Covid crap on us in Google settings. I'm curious what the "New and / or enhanced features" are in this update since they never detail them. I'm not in favor of Google and their sneakiness when it comes to this Covid / contact tracing bulls**t.
Hopefully the "new" features are less battery drain and hibernated apps with Greenify stay hibernated which were problems introduced in the April security patch.
