Hello,
the mother board from the LG G2 of a friend of mine crashed two days ago.
So, I've seen that other devices with smaller damage (like destroyed screen) are really cheap available on ebay,... Everything else is fine.
I want to buy one of these and exchange the main boards between them. This will be the cheapest, easiest and best way to rescue the phone.
So, my question about it. I am in germany so I think most of the devices offered will be the D802 (global) version. This will be no problem, i think.
But my friend always had big problem's with his store (only 16 gb version) and i thought if he needs a new board i should directly buy a bigger one (32 gig version). Is it possible to build the main board with more space directly into his usually smaller phone or will there be any more differences like other connectors,... ?
Thank you in advance and sorry for my not "native-like" english
Hello,
i would like to get myself the G6.
But i'm not sure wether to get the H870 (European model) or the DS model?
You could count the Pros and Cons, but its more a decision of wether to root and use custom ROMs or not?
What about updates/upgrades?
Just share your opinions to help me decide! :fingers-crossed:
PS:
I don't use/need VoLTE.

It depends on what you need...
Spoiler
H870 pros:
- Updates
- Bootloader Unlock: Possible
H870DS pros:
- Quad Dac
- 64GB of internal memory
- Dual Sim
So, if you need root or like modding in general go for an European H870, if not, go for the H870DS, if you have no interests in both pros go for the one which cost less.
My vote is for H870, don't need 32GB since i don't use heavy apps and have tons of storage on my pc and use a 64GB Microsd, also don't need QuadDac or the second sim.

It's better not, the possibility of bricking are very high, also what's the point of doing this? It wouldn't allow the bootloader unlock if that was your thinking, that is an IMEI limited thing
Thank you for your answer
To answer your question I would like to have the EU version because it seems to have more update than version TWN.

In any case I wouldn't advise that, after all the H870 has 32GB only, no dual SIM and no quad dac, so even if you don't brick the phone you would have a software limited phone.
I concur. I think it's a very bad idea, not sure you could even flash it anyways. You'll get your own updates in time, why bother about that?
I got the H870, because of the unlocked bootloader
There is no reason at all to get the European version unless you really need to unlock your bootloader. The DS version is superior. I've had both. Sold the European version and got the DS and could not be happier about it. This also send signals to LG for their region crap.
The main reason to buy a h870 instead of h870ds, if you're living in Europe, is the guarantee or a lack of it on h870ds. Spending £300 or more without any guarantee is gambling.
The sellers are putting in various forms of warranties on the H870DS, most of them offering a year of "seller's warranty". Considering the price of purchase, I'd say it's pretty good. You'll probably run into less problem returning it to a seller on eBay, who wouldn't want to risk getting negative feedback, than talking to LG customer support, which in some cases seem that they couldn't care less about your faulty phone.
The Ebay sellers are located in HKG, e.g. in guarantee case you or he have/has to send it for repair to HKG. 2-4 weeks without smartphone. EBay 12 months, EU 24 months guarantee, etc...

The sellers are shipping from Ireland or the UK, and if I were ever to return it over warranty issues, that's where I'd send it.
Gr8 idea, you send to Irland, UK, France or wherever. Your dealer ships it to HKG for repair = 2-4 weeks without your phone.

Yes, I got it from ebay, because I didn't trust the shady cheap websites. Others have successfully ordered from the shady websites, so you can give it a try if you're brave enough: eglobalcentral. Although I don't see the H870 model at them right now.

Well, if you send your faulty phone to LG, you can rest assure that it'll take some time to get it back as well, since LG doesn't do any repairs themselves. Depending on the issue, the eBay seller might send you a new phone instead of shipping it to Hong Kong. As I've said before, the eBay sellers are far more sensitive to negative feedback than LG, and more commonly known to try to satisfy their buyers.
As much as I'd love to have 64 gigs and dual sim, I spent €40 extra to get the 32 gig single sim, just to be able to unlock the bootloader.
I wouldn't hesitate a second to order with eglobal to get the DS if I felt I didn't need root access.
IMO the price difference compensates for not having warranty so the extra storage and dual sim make it a no brainer.
But yeah, bought the EU version anyway.
As per title, does such a thing exist? Looking at some 64GB H870DS from ebay and someone pointed out they might not have the hifi DAC. Could this be possible on a device with H870DS codename? Maybe I'm wrong but I thought H870DS = hifi DAC no matter what so please correct if it's not the case. And also, how would you ensure it then? Only if it is in the description? We all know how generic/copy-paste descriptions are on ebay...
Yes exist! Dual sim 32 gb version no Dac /Amp version
64 GB H870 DS korean come with Dac/Amp
And H870 DSU(Lg g6 PLus 128Gb)
from the post above, maybe you can differentiate it based on storage? all 64gb DS version might come with it, but 32gb versions don't?

What is the code name of such a device (32gb DS) ? Is it also called H870DS?
Is it safe then to assume that 64GB + DS = Hifi DAC?
In short, If I see "H870DS" can I be sure about the DAC or not?

H870S = Dual SIM 32GB no QDac
H870DS = Dual SIM 64GB with QDac
I am also looking of changing my note 5 to g6 32gb version h870 version. Is it really important yo have qdac? I never used in any of my phones the audio jack. Also i think the h870 ver doesn't have wireless charge. Correct?

Correct, H870 is for Europe, no wireless charging. From what I know, only US sold variants have wireless charging.
Hello does anyone knows any program or another way to change the sound .(bass - mid - treble)
I don't want to open an other thread for sound.
Use an eq app or, get poweramp beta, it's great. But if you get the one with the dac, to get best unaltered quality (no resampling unnecessarily) you can use BlackPlayer, Pulsar Music, PlayerPro without the add on DSP pack, or the stock LG music app, but imo best eq music player is poweramp beta
What is the build.prop key for ro.product.model= that has quad dac? To be precise - need all models numbers for models with QD)

For me is not a bad thing for not having wireless charging. I was overhyped when i bought my note 5 with wireless changing. I bought even an original Samsung wireless fast charging doc and used it about 5 times. Because i work the phone all the time and when charging it wireless i disrupt the charging process all the time.
Which version name has both quad dec and wireless charging?

Or at least only quad dec, because there's a lot of confusion with the versions. I want 64 gb dual sim varient with quad dec at least installed, if got wireless charging also, awesome.
I was planning to buy a new phone next January but unfortunately my fantastic Mate 8 decided to die prematurely.
I'm looking to buy a new replacement and I was thinking about the OnePlus 5 8G/128G however I need to understand the difference between different versions.
I have found the A5000 that seems to be much cheaper compare to the international version, why?
I live in Europe, UK - would that version be ok?
Thanks!
Oneplus 5 with 6gb of RAM and 64gb of memory
Oneplus 5 with 8gb of RAM and 128gb of memory
That's all.
They are all A5000.
There's an international one and a Chinese one, but both are the same. Only difference being the software.
As mentioned and as you could search, there are no differences other than memory/storage.
Some versions come with HydrogenOS, some come with OxygenOS. It is just a matter of flashing the other OS to switch, which can be done by simply downloading the ROM and going to system update in the settings.. There are no hardware differences.
Is there international veriosn?
