I bought an LG G6 and got the South Korea version for the Quad DAC and 64GB, however when I check the IMEI on the website, it says I have an LG G6+ with 128GB storage. My LG G6 works perfectly and I am totally loving it. It's been a month and no sign of anything being wrong. But what could be wrong here with the IMEI?

Hello folks,
My gf's sister will come from NY at the beggining of april probably first week so i need to order a g2 soon. Smartphones are very expensive in my country due to nonsense taxes for example unlocked LG G2 32GB D802 is nearly $818 So you would understand why i want to buy phone from abroad.
I've considered three phones including Nexus 5 (actually ordered one and than cancelled), Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and finally choose to get a LG G2. I have some questions for you...
1- Where can i get a genuine unlocked 32GB LG G2 D802 with good price from a trusted seller ? By good price i mean under $500.
I found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190985045933
and this: amazon
But in the comments of amazon a buyer wrote that this is not a D802, it is a D801 so i loose my trust on amazon seller. Problem here is i need to buy from a trusted seller because i may not have enough time to return a phone and get a new one plus i don't want to cause trouble to my gf's sister. She recently had a baby and last thing i want is to bother her with shipping it back than and checking a new phone if it is proper.
2- - I will be using G2 in Turkey and in here market is full of D802. I guess best suitable option is D802 isn't it ? What is main difference between unlocked variants of G2 ? I searched a little bit and found out network bands are different and most capable one is D802. Am i right ?
3- One more quick question. What is amount of user available space in 16gb and 32gb versions ?
Thank you for your interest
Cheers...

Hello
I am thinking of biting the bullet and going for the G6. The more I look at it, the more I like it.
I am thinking of the DS model, the korean one with the HiDac but my concern is simple - warranty.
Anyone knows what the warranty policy is in LG UK for products that come from Asia?
Sorry if this has been asked before.
I don't think there would be any LG warranty.
eBay listings of V20 H990ds (Korean) models for sale in the UK all state that the warranty is that offered by the seller and not LG. This suggests the LG warranty is null. So I'd guess it would be the same for the G6.
Ofc the best way to know is reading the LG warranty itself.... good luck with that lol
You have to pay at your cost to return it to the seller . So make sure the seller offers a warranty. LG will do nothing in the UK.
My experience of LG in the UK is that they do nothing regardless of where the phone came from. I have a LG-G4 with the boot-loop issue. LG pointed me to my supplier who told me that it was an LG issue that they didn't cover after 6 months. I am also tempted by the G6 but LG's quality control and warranty issues have stalled me for now.
1) I heared that LG unlocked the bootloader for their G6 smartphone for the H870 version.
2) I bought what was described as a "LG G6 H870 32GB (FACTORY UNLOCKED) 5.7" QHD (BLACK) International Version" from Amazon.
3) After it was shipped but before it arrived, I learned that not all H870 variants had an unlocked bootloader.
4) Upon checking the Item Model Number for my order it read "G6-H870DS/BLK".
5) Somewhat disheartened, I searched Craigslist and was quickly relieved when I found a OnePlus 5 128/8GB variant.
6) I printed my return info for the G6 and snatched the OP5. I left for a pre-arranged vacation.
7) After enjoying my OP5 on my vacation, I came back home and find the G6 has arrived.
8) Upon opening the envelope, I find that it simply says "LG-H870" on the box.
9) Now I'm uncertain as to which variant of G6 I actually have.
Is there a way to determine for sure -- without opening the box -- if I have the variant with the officially supported unlockable bootloader from LG?

H870 has only one variant, the problem is that LG have region lock. So if you want to unlock bootloader you should check the IMEI in http://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveBootloader.dev?categoryId=CTULRS0702
If pass, is EU version, unlockable.
There's conflicting models in the O/P, one references a Dual Sim version.
The exact device-specific details will be on the box labels.

Does it have 32gb or 64gb. If it has 32gb it is the standard EU H870 and that is unlockable.
If it is 64gb then it can not be the single SIM H870 and must be the DS.

It is the 32GB LG-H870. I guess that means it's an unlockable version!
Now I have to decide if I want to use it over the OP5. I'm leaning towards OP5, although the G6's water resistance, better drop damage mitigation, and screen-to-body ratio are enticing. I'm a fan of the OP5's OxygenOS vs the G6's UI, but that becomes moot once I unlock it and use a custom ROM.
I guess I'll have to play with the camera on both for a bit. Over my vacation I really liked the photos the OP5 produced. My family members all have iPhone 7+'s and the bokeh effect of the OP5 was just as good from the shots I got. That said, the G6's wide-angle would be helpful in getting more scenery into the frame.
Don't know if I could go back to half the RAM though.
Okay, enough rambling.
Well, anyways, thank you all for the help!

Just curious - did you keep and successfully unlock your H870, and is it the DS (dual SIM)?
I ask because I'm considering looking for an unlockable H870.
Hi Fam,
I've just purchased an LG G6+ from Kogan if you look at the specifications it comes with 6GB of RAM, but I am wondering if this version also comes with wireless charging?
It's so difficult to find any information on this phone due to all the slightly different regional releases!
Any help would be appreciated, cheers!
G6+ has 4 GB of RAM only. It's typo on Kogan hp.
Korean version only has wireless charging.
Thank you, yeah I've managed to find a few articles that had been edited to correct the 6GB to 4GB.
Hi dear. I bought LG G6
It’s looks super. Just few thinks ,,, I check Imei online and say that is LG G6 H780K
On the box it’s just LG G6 H780
Imei on phone and box they match,
But SN not. SN from box show on website is not available.
And SN from phone show on website that few people have it in other LG or Huawei phones. Pleas help.
Dude, why its so hard to figure out in google, what H870K stands for. Whats wrong in this world.... Go on google and you directly see, its the Australian version.
Its a development forum and not for retarding. sorry when i'm mad with those questions.
Thanks for repply.
Yes I did that. And it show as you said. But Just wonder if you check Serial Number and it’s say that others have same SN ..
pleas help. And sorrryyyyyy.... ?
I had a similar thing with an LG G4 I bought 2 years ago.
Suggest you just call LG themselves.
That's what I did, turned out that the same serial number had been sold (and registered) in Germany a year before, so mine definately wasn't new.
Adam.
