Simple question please: can a mainboard from "international" (or "european") type of HD2 be put into TMOUS (T-Moble US) HD2? (as a replacement, the original MB seems to have overheat hangups issue - but its much easier and cheaper to buy "international" version)

Theoretically, it is possible (some did it already), but don't expect to fit perfectly!

How to understand this "imperfection"?
People say, the screen might be of a different kind (solderred vs. pinned). Is it true?

It doesn't matter the screen(as long as you don't replace digitizer, which are 2 versions:soldered or with insert pin!) in order to replace motherboard!
So, the does the digitizer' kind be matched with the mainboard or is it pin-inserted or soldered to a screen (and screen to a mainboard)?
Digi to LCD & as all LCD to mainboard ribbons are same of no issue.
Main issue of International mainboard in TMOUS is board is shorter & micro usb & headphone jack fall short in the TMOUS housing ...
Get a TMOUS board as waste of effort with an international board ...

Thank you! However may I ask you yet again about these micro usb & headphone jack which fall short - would they appear as inaccessible at all from outside of housing?
If not please, suggest where could I buy tmous mainboard from, as here in Europe there are just 'international' versions present on all auction sites...
To make micro usb & headset jack fit you need to modify connector plug moldings by cutting them back so plugs will go in further without restriction.
I would make the effort to find a good TMOUS board, must be a few TMOUS devices with dead or cracked digi for spares.
Put in a wanted request here on xda.
Other option is go to a international version housing to match board.
Would only buy auction site if seller has 100% feedback & a good reason for have a spare board as too easy for people to lie & sell faulty parts on eBay & reading a few threads on here & my personal inbox messages confirms the auction issues ...

I've got an offer to replace international MB for 100$ (with already MB provied). The guy guarantees it fits perfectly to the TMOUS phone, and he has small repair shop in my town (so he's fully accountable) and swears he's got fixed many such devices already. So how is it possible compared to your explanation? (Is he going to replace housing too maybe?)
Plz, tell me which part of an international case should be placed together with MB? It is definitelly easier and cheaper to buy such a set (euMB+case) than TMoUS mainbard itself...
Presumably it is not necessary to change the whole housing, is it?
rear cover & probably centre chassis (check chassis part supplies & see if parts numbered different).
Can't really see a small shop having dealt with that many TMOUS models for international board swap.
It can & does work but without the ports altered or case changed it not the best.
Personally I would aim at getting an international model with broken or dead digi & swap your led/digi to it & job done plus you got a lot of parts spare or for sale to recoup maybe 50% of the outlay.

Just have bought international MB (+ central chasis) from Polish auction site for as much as 38$ (with guarantee of return if not helped) - haven't pondered too much as it seems great bargain. However now I see this bargain rather akward to consummate :/ Please, give me some advice what to do with the whole set: TMoUS phone with faulty MB + international MB with central chasis? Would you advise to return this MB to the seller?
Get an international back cover & you should be good to go.
BTW, what about firmware/ROM? Where does it sit? In a chip on MB? Or maybe the flash memory module stays somewhere else so the MB change will leave it unaffected...
So, is it necessary to flash the international version of ROM before first run after the MB change? There are so many warnings what distaster would happen if someone confused ROM versions (international vs. US)...
Of course there are ROMs good for both versions, e.g. Paranoid, but presently I've got TMOUS WM 6.5.5 flashed (to accurately test hardware under 'model' sw conditions)
All on mainboard
So, I have replaced the MB, the international version put into TMoUS without any other parts replacements! The TMoUS housing indeed is slighty longer but just by so minute difference (half of millimeter) it poses no problem at all, and both plugs (USB & jack) fit firmly! (The only glitch was I had to trimm millimeter of plastics inside as USB connector didn't fit in, but it was so trifle as probabely even not worth to mention...)
So, WHAT A DIFFERENCE now! That TMoUS MB was terribly thermally worn off!
Please, give some suggestion what to do now - with e.g. that faulty TMoUS MB? To throw away or is it still possible to recover anything valuable from it?
Please, tell me also if it is worth to protect somehow the "new" MB to prevent it from this thermal tearing off (and how to make it)?
Hi all, i have a question
So my hd2 fell and the screen broke, the lcd is still working and so was the digitizer but it stopped a couple of weeks ago.
Now i have the money and i'll buy a new digitizer.
My question is will the glass for the t-mobile version fit my european (or is it international) hd2?
I don't want to buy it just to find out it doesn't fit or something
Thanks in advance.
I read somewhere that Internation hd2 use lcd and digitizer combo that has to be soldered together but mine is click-on.
Is that the same one t-mobile version is using?
On the back of the lcd is says P/N: 60H00300-00P
EDIT: It looks just like this one.

There s a little bit size difference between the EU HD2 and TmoUS HD2....
It may fit, but u might face compatibility problems
Recommended that you buy the digitizer meant for EU HD2 from ebay Global easybuy
So as to be sure
Post #4 - Not all good advise ...
No size difference between lcd & digitizer on any model of HD2.
Main difference if replacing just the digitizer is fact one type is a solder connector & one a plug connector.
T-Mobile USA version was plug only connector.
EU version can be both depending on early or late manufacture or if been in for repair already it may of been changed to later version .
If have original SPL you can view the type via bootloader. If unsure wise to look first before ordering ...
Loads of info on this of you search forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1341927
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=154235078
you will need a heat gun to separate the two, then you will have to scrap all the double tape off and re-install new to keep the two and the housing together very easy to repair and very easy to break, Hint of advise, I would take the phone to a qualify repair shop for fix.
Hello folks,
My gf's sister will come from NY at the beggining of april probably first week so i need to order a g2 soon. Smartphones are very expensive in my country due to nonsense taxes for example unlocked LG G2 32GB D802 is nearly $818 So you would understand why i want to buy phone from abroad.
I've considered three phones including Nexus 5 (actually ordered one and than cancelled), Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and finally choose to get a LG G2. I have some questions for you...
1- Where can i get a genuine unlocked 32GB LG G2 D802 with good price from a trusted seller ? By good price i mean under $500.
I found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190985045933
and this: amazon
But in the comments of amazon a buyer wrote that this is not a D802, it is a D801 so i loose my trust on amazon seller. Problem here is i need to buy from a trusted seller because i may not have enough time to return a phone and get a new one plus i don't want to cause trouble to my gf's sister. She recently had a baby and last thing i want is to bother her with shipping it back than and checking a new phone if it is proper.
2- - I will be using G2 in Turkey and in here market is full of D802. I guess best suitable option is D802 isn't it ? What is main difference between unlocked variants of G2 ? I searched a little bit and found out network bands are different and most capable one is D802. Am i right ?
3- One more quick question. What is amount of user available space in 16gb and 32gb versions ?
Thank you for your interest
Cheers...

You can get a new screen assembly for $45, or for $60, the screen assembly already installed in a new bezel. It's relatively easy to do this repair. Digitizers alone are much less expensive, but far more difficult and requires some special tools/materials (glue), that it's a better choice to just get a new assembly.
For $60 you can have practically a new Nexus 4 (assuming you haven't screwed up the back part). I'm not saying you shouldn't get a G3 - it's a great phone, but if you don't need a new phone, you can save a lot of money.
As the title suggests,
Came across a company called cell-plaza on ebay who are based in Hong Kong selling lots of high end phones, all brand new, for what seems to be very cheap prices.
Details:
Description: NEW LG G2 D801 4G LTE Quad-Core 32GB 13MP Android Mobile Phone- Black (Unlocked)
Price: £141.00
Link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281435055233?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Has anyone had any experience with this company, or can you spot anything suspicious about them?
I've already made the purchase, hoping for the best.
I've been stung by clones & knock off's before, but I've never seen an LG G2 clone before.
Thanks.
If you read the negative feedbacks on ebay you foud that probably they sent you a refurbished phone and probably without warranty. But the price made the deal..

Hope it works out for you, man. The negative feedback is a bit discouraging, especially the one that says something about changing feedback in order to get refund!
But let us know how it works out for you. I'm thinking at worst (based on feedback) you have a 4 in 5 chance of getting a working phone.
Did it arrive?
Hi, did you receive this phone OK? I'm contemplating buying one myself.
Thanks
alot of negative feedback thats not good... before you flash anything search for refurbished thread and make sure oyu know wich model variant you get by looking on the motherboard otherways youll brick your phone if you wish to flash new rom even root i think..
that is the normal price of a SECOND hand G2 in my country.
gunna be selling my vs980 for 150 on ebay =D

Well, now that I have received my G2 from them, I can share some of my experience. I live in USA and good ATT LTE performance is crucial to me. The company sold the ATT D800 version on ebay as new for about $165 bucks, which I think is a fair price for a previous generation fragship phone sold by a shoddy HK company considering that $200 buys me a brand new ASUS Zenfone 2 or Zenfone 2 Laser here in USA with full warranty and all.
The phone arrived two weeks later in the original cardboard packaging sealed in plastic. The phone case looked brand new, no scratches or any signs of use or abuse. I removed the back cover and looked inside. Inside was the original LG battery produced in 2013 and D800 printed on the case. The printed IMEI number matches what is reported by the software, and corresponds to the ATT D800 model. The phone works fine and has already installed two OTA updates, upgrading KitKat 4.4.2 to Lollipop.
Next, I installed the LTE discovery app to snoop around on which LTE bands my G2 is using. Depending on my location in the neighborhood, the bands were switching between Band 2 and the all-crucial Band 17, which confirms I indeed got the D800 for the ATT LTE network. Finally, I have run Geekbench 3 benchmark app repeatedly and the consistent scores of 900+ and 2500+ (single-core and multi-core) are in line with the benchmarks published in many online reviews of G2.
HOWEVER, the printed manual inside the box, talks about LG-P920 which corresponds to an entirely different LG phone, which does point to some kind of shoddy vendor activity.
Either way, I feel pretty happy having purchased an LG2 that looks like new and works like new for just $165 bucks. For me it's a stopgap phone until the Snapdragon 820 devices arrive. The only thing that disappoints me is having just 32GB of storage. I have a music collection that takes up something like 200GB in lossless format, and even converted to a high bit rate MP3, 32GB is just barely not enough. I wish there was an SD card slot. In retorspect, the SD801-based 64GB Oneplus One that's now sold for only $300 USD may have been a better choice. Also, the LG GUI is ok, but not as nice as the Cyanogen OS on a Oneplus One phone. The LG GUI looks ok, it is something like made by geeks, for other geeks. The poor wallpaper collection and the lack of themes is appalling, but fixable. The phone looks like a keeper to me. I look forward to testing the camera performance and trying Cyanogenmod.
Get yourself a tiny Micro sd card reader by Meenova for 10.00 and a 128GB Samsung Micro SDXC Card (can be found under 40 this week due to cyber Monday Week deals if you google slickdeals.net) and you'll be more than set!
I'm using the Samsung 64GB Pro Micro SDXC Card and its amazing.

Thank you so much for posting this and for following up with your findings.
I have a G3 on order from the same seller and started to worry after reading their negative feedback (also AFTER buying - which I would not normally do!).
I'll also post on here once I receive the LG G3 32gb to confirm that the phone received is the official LG Model or a replica, new or used and whether the phone is working as it should.
Thanks for the SD card suggestion too, I will have a look.
I was just looking at a G3 from them this morning. I'll be curious to hear about your experience.

The G2 is pretty old now despite the capabilities from it. I feel like the price they are selling it for is reasonable

I got the G3 it is legit LG tested everything and its legit. A couple of things though.
Branded T-Mobile who have been EE for nearly 2 years?
Get alerts from T-Mobile saying 156mb update is ready but it just reboots and stays on 4.4.2.
It keeps on turning off and will come on again once I remove and re-insert the battery.
Currently debating whether to send it back for a refund or root to see if it fixes it!

Don't buy from them, they state 12 month warranty but after 3 months the screen died and they won't honor their warranty.
