I Just Posted The Stock Android Versions Benchmark Result Because I Have Never Tested Any Custom ROM .

You are aware that the M9 is officially EOL since April 2017 and won't receive any further updates, aren't you? Neither will the "problems"* you mentioned get fixed nor will this phone receive an Android O update from HTC. HTC (like most OEMs) supports it's flagships for 24 months. No android device got supported for a longer time range, so far.
* Sidenote: My M9 doesn't get hotter than it used to get on lower firmware versions and the battery life getting worse is expected due to the age of the phone/battery and the way Android N is optimizing its apps.

I just read about the update on a Website .
.
Can you suggest me any custom Rom which have better battery and ram management as compared to stock versions ?
What about MaximusHD or ViperOne ?

I'm not sure what kind of website that was but you probably read a clickbait article with "fake news".
The battery life doesn't depend on the rom but on your usage of the phone (in other words the apps you install or uninstall, whether you use Wifi or LTE most of the time, the screen brightness, etc.).
I'm not so sure what kind of improvements you expect from the ram management of custom roms, on the other hand. Android itself is designed to keep everything in its ram until a new task needs ram space that's currently taken by an unused process. Then the old process gets kicked out of the ram for making space for the new one. Keeping everything in the ram has the benefit that re-launching processes that got used in the recent time will take less time and costs less battery life. Therefore, free ram is wasted ram and clearing it is contradictory to the way android is meant to be used. Not to mention that you reduce the time between two battery charge cycles unnecessarily by cleaning it.
So far, I didn't face any situation where the ram of my M9 hasn't been big enough for handling what I'm doing with this phone. Therefore, I'd say that there's no need for any ram management improvements.
I personally prefer Team Venom's Viper roms due to their customizability. Although, I have to admit that I'm currently using LOS on my One S since the latest Viper rom for that phone is only based on android 4.2.

I have updated to stock nougat . Will update it till the last version and then see nougat is improved or not .
I updated nougat two times to newer version and it seems like the battery life and overheating problem is decreasing slowly with each update .
.
.
And about custom rom , the developers themselves write TWEAKS FOE BETTER BATTERY LIFE as in MaximuHD rom . So you can tell me what they mean by that .
.
.
About Oreo Update , let see if it comes to our device or not . It is not officially written by htc that oreo will not come to M9 . In all ways , M9 is a fast device and capable of running Android Oreo .
If there was no official oreo , then we can also get a port from HTC 10

As said before, the device is older than 24 month. HTC stated in 2014 that they won't support their flagships longer than this time period. (No OEM does, btw.) There's no need to explicitly state that they won't update the phone, anymore, due to that announcement (which didn't get revoked, so far). It doesn't matter how "fast", "awesome" or "capable" the device is.
Developing further updates doesn't result in any additional income for the company. Their R&D departement focuses mainly on their current flagship until the development cycle of the next flagship starts. Economically seen, providing updates for already released devices is only a waste of money and human resources. Especially if the device is older than 24 months since most customers (I'm talking about that majority that doesn't even know that xda exists) buy a new phone as soon as their contract gets renewed which happens depending on the country where they live and the carrier that they use every 12 or 24 months. (Disclaimer: I don't like this update politic, either. Nonetheless, that's the way companies are thinking, nowadays, and I can understand the logic behind it.)
By the way, the latest nougat version for the dev edition is 4.30.617.12, if I remember correctly. You'll probably need to install some more updates until you're on the latest version if you're currently on 4.27.617.2.
In regard to that battery tweaks: I can't find the post at the moment but somewhere hidden in the ElementalX thread you can find an explanation why roms themselves don't have a huge impact on the battery life. Most of the custom roms offer a customized debloat during their installation or are debloated from the beginning. It's actually the lack of these bloat apps that improves the battery life (I'm looking at you Facebook). On older devices you could additionally flash a custom kernel for improving the battery life since the stock kernel was everything else than optimized. However, HTC (and probably all other OEMs, as well) learned over the years and the influence of e.g. ElementalX isn't as huge on the M9 as it was e.g. on the One S.

Okay . I have read your whole story .
.
And yes , i update 4.30.617.12 and it is the latest update available till now

@Flippy498 , I am surprised to see the improvements that HTC made with their latest update for One M9 .
Overheating is hugely reduced now and Antutu benchmark result is also improved .
Battery timing is now better as compared to marshmallow . At first you said those two problems will not be fixed . But i hoped HTC will solve them with latest update , and i was correct

That was probably a misunderstanding between the two of us. You originally said in your opening post that a friend of yours is suffering from those problems on firmware 4.x. I assumed that he's using the latest dev edition firmware (4.30.617.12) and only wanted to explain that there won't be any further updates for the dev edition so that all bugs he's facing now won't get fixed in the future. I never meant that the existing updates wouldn't bring any improvements.

Should I Upgrade My Galaxy Tab 7.7 To Ice Cream Sandwich?

Hi fellow gurus, I've had my Galaxy Tab for a few days, only just bought it!
As you all know it comes preinstalled with Honey Comb 3.2.
There is however the Ice Cream Sandwich update available for the device.
I am unsure whether to update or not for several reasons:
1 - I'm happy with the 3.2 Honey Comb. It's fast, smooth and battery life is excellent
2 - No bugs or problems faced with the OS.
3 - Honey Comb runs everything I want without any problems.
4- When using my preferred launcher, Go Launcher EX it makes the use of the Tab even better, faster and more customizable.
This is where the problem lies. Should I upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich, will it improve battery or worsen it?
Should ICS take more juice & drains battery faster than Honey Comb then I'm not at all interested to update.
Even though the current battery life is great I would rather it improve in the update.
So to those who have upgraded to & are using ISC, is the battery BETTER or WORSE than Honey Comb?
Reason I'm asking is because recently I upgraded my other Samsung Galaxy Note to ICS & the battery life is crap and far worse than it was on 2.3.4...
One last question. Apart from battery life, is it worth upgrading to ICS? What are the benefits or what makes it better? Any new features?
Looking forward to hearing your replies, thanks in advance.
If u know how to backup etc , take a dip =D could always go back to stock
Edit : haven't seen a fellow looking back ^^

It's that good? WISH I could say the same about ICS on my Galaxy Note...
The only reason I'd upgrade to ICS would be even better battery life.
Otherwise I'm perfectly happy with 3.2 Honey Comb.
I bricked my tab trying to reinstall cm9
but for the 2mins i had ICS it was amazing
MUCH better than HC.
JB would be nice, but ICS definitely makes this worth keeping over buying a nexus

Off course battery life with ICS is far better than HC, after installing stock ICS you should try SK006 rom , battery consumption is even better than stock.
I found the battery life with cm9 is very bad. So you should use one of the optimized stock rooms, I would suggest Quicksilver 0.9 - that's what I'm running right now. I got 13h with wifi off and airplane mode on.

Short answer: NO.
Long answer: If you know what you're doing, yes. The tab becomes way more responsive, you get some nice touches and compatibility with ICS software. Of course there is a risk involved; but if you can handle it, by all means, do it. You won't regret.

Not sure where that short answer comes from?
IMHO Short answer - yes
Long answer - read the multitude of posts here relating to ICS on the 7.7.
The tab always did exactly what i wanted it to do on HC and I never really got too het up under the collar about the ICS hype. There was what amounts to a degree of hysteria about ICS around here a while ago.... Anyway i upgraded first to CM9 and then to the official release. Whilst ICS has not transformed the tab into the gadget to end all gadgets, world peace didn't break out and the deity of your choice (or not) didn't make an appearance (all of which some of the posts on this forum seemed to promise) both versions of ICS are noticeably faster than HC. I stuck with the official version with Apex launcher (imo better than Go) as it is a bit more configurable. Though TW ICS actually doesn't seem that much (any?) slower than CM9 - perception probably.
So, yes upgrade. As someone said make a back up and try it you can always restore.

Hmm, as I thought I'm getting different opinions on whether or not to upgrade. That said, I'm happy with the way Honey Comb looks & runs...
With regards to responsiveness I think it's fantastic & more responsive than my Galaxy Note.
Another user or two also complained about poor battery life when upgrading to ICS and upgraded to Honey Comb again!
When running a custom rom & tweaking the software you'll surely get better performance & battery life.
As it is I'm getting excellent battery life from HC, performance & looks are also great:

I stand by Short answer == no. The short answer for "should I flash XXXXXXX" should ALWAYS be "no".
If you don't know what you're doing and don't want to learn, you don't read the long answer. In this case, you shouldn't be messing with your tablet, and wait for the official Kies upgrade. Specially knowing that our tab has the infamous brickbug emmc... Despite the fact that the risk is small, I surely don't want anyone upgrading based on my advice, bricking, and screaming that it's my fault!
Let the people who go by short answers keep their tablets safe, and the people who actually care enough to read about it take the (small) risk and get a better tablet. I did it as soon as I could, but I wouldn't recommend it to absolutely everybody.

Hmmm, ok. I'll wait for the Kies upgrade...
I will rephrasse my answer as per above.
If your OP question was in the context of your particular comfort with flashing FW then that is a question only you can answer.
If the question was about whther or not ICS was "better" than and HC and as such should you upgrade (taking itno account the above) then my answer is yes. The general responsiveness and feel of the tab is very definitely improved over HC. Nor have I noticed any issues with it in use, battery or otherwise. I am talking about both forms of ICS available to me as a P6810 user.
I took your question to be about the second case and made the assumption you were asking from the point of view of someone who feels comfortable flashing - so to speak.
For me HC also ran well with some tweaks and a replacement launcher (Launcher Pro). I upgraded to the stock ICS (on my p6810), and it is a very nice upgrade, IMO.
Battery life is the same or better, compared to HC.
Overall smoothness and speed, is improved in ICS on event the stock launcher and my current (Nova).
Compatibility - eventually, newer apps will not work on HC, so upgrading helps future proof. For example, I use Chrome and it won't even load on HC due to incompatibility. It now works on my GTab 7.7 with ICS, so I can use Chrome on my GTab, GS2, and my Computers and bookmarks now sync across all devices.
Lastly, when I upgraded to ICS, I did not even lose any apps or data, so there was really no reason not to. Anyways, I'd recommend it as there was no downside for me.
I upgraded my 7.7 to ICS about a week or so ago - got tired of waiting for the official ICS release for my country. It was my first time flashing any rom outside of the manufacturer-approved way, but after a lot of reading to make sure I had the procedure down pat, I went through with it, and I'm glad I did. General system responsive is better than with HC, battery is no worse, if not slightly better, and I didn't even need to reinstall any apps or re-configure any settings.
Ok, sounds like upgrading to ICS is an improvement & will benefit me.
However, after doing a search to see if there were any updates there were none found. This was done over the phone via wi-fi.
As others have said I could easily flash my phone, download and install a custom rom myself but that means either backing up data or losing data.
I will patiently wait for the official update via wi-fi for the ICS update.
Thanks guys.

ever since my first time flashing via Odin up to this point, i don't think your data would be affected. but i'm with you on this one, i'll wait for my country's ICS update. don't want to change my build number (i'm just OC like that) hehe. but everyday i am tempted to flash the Austrian ICS firmware, i'm managing to hold on hahaha
Tab 7.7 6810 ICS Update
I checked for an udated under the Auto update feature in Settings, nothing was there so I checked manually for the ICS update this morning. It said there was a Frimware update to ICS for my device. I completed the download to the tablet and when I initiated the install if failed. There was a message advising me to use Kies. SO I went to Kies on my laptop and downloaded ICS to my 6810 (WiFi Only). The download was successfuland the installation was too. i now have 4.0.4 ICS on my tablet.
So far the only thing that changed was a couple of widget on my home screen and some app icons.

Let's get the G1 alive & kicking again

Hi guys,
With all the changes going on with Android especially the past couple of years, the ancient G1 has been pretty much left behind at this point. It's quite understandable given how poor the hardware is by today's standards and just how old it is. But for nostalgic purposes, a reminder of how far we've come and to demonstrate the power of the development community I want to revive it in some form. I've already posted some videos of the G1 running a couple of the brand new material design Google apps on my own channel here and for the new channel I have just launched for my Android news site Little Green Dude here.

The plans are as follows:
1. Produce a more up to date ICS build with a "Lollipop-esque" experience in terms of UI (I know there is a Jelly Bean port but ICS is the most modern Android build that ever reached a usable state).
2. Attempt to improve the performance and utility of this ROM as much as possible within the limitations of the hardware - for instance I want to try and use pretty much the entire internal 256MB ROM for /system and have /data mounted entirely on the MicroSD if the performance of the G1's SD reader will allow it. I am also considering producing and modifying some apps especially for the G1
3. Explore backporting of certain apps and features to ARMv6 where they are currently only AMv7 compatible and also from newer versions of Android to ICS if this remains the newest possible stable Android base
4. The big one, if I can get some help and support from an experienced kernel developer I would like to eventually try and look into getting a more modern version of Android working. Either building on the limited support we have for Jelly Bean or leapfrogging it to KitKat or dare I say it Lollipop.
I have already made some limited progress as shown in the image above which was made with a screenshot taken from my G1 a few days ago (full res screenshot attached) and the two YouTube videos I linked to.
Now before anyone get's carried away please understand that these are ideal goals, some of which may prove to be too difficult but most should theoretically be possible with enough work and support. I can make no promises as to which if any of these will successfully make it to fruition but I am already fairly confident about 1 and parts of 2.
Is there anyone out there who would like to support such a project at any level? Testing, development, donations - literally any level of help would be fantastic!
Come on guys, she's never going to be anyone's daily device or even close at this point but there's life in the old gal yet! Let's do this!

I like the idea of this haven't been here in damn ages but for nostalgic purposes I say why not I am on board
Let's do this.
It has been some time since Ive worked on the D/S. I wasnt planning on coming out of retirement but since Ive got a bit more time on my hands recently, I suppose it wouldnt hurt to helpout where I can. I know some of the United guys may be interested as well, xillius200 already took the liberty to email us, so hopefully some others join in.
TL;DR: I'm game.
Great idea indeed! Just checked with my brother, he still keeps my HTC Magic. So will fetch that from him later next week.
Tengku you are back!!!
Well devs, contact me if you need a hand or even a dream to develop on. May have some time myself
I am willing to help test builds. I have been playing around with a Wildfire S for a few days now, it has 4.4.4 CM11 on it and using Int2Ext+ with an ext4 partition. My G1 is enjoying retirement in the closet right now.
The G1 is possibly the greatest phone I have ever owned. I tell people about it all the time and the fact that it was incredibly good for being the first of it's kind.
Hi all,
Thanks to everyone here offering their support on this. Progress has been slow due to other commitments and some problems with my G1, but I have not given up on the idea and would certainly welcome the help of anyone who is able to. I hope to have something usable to share fairly soon so hold on for that.
The biggest obstacle I am having is getting working hardware acceleration on a recent CM version. BananaSandwich seems to have HWA working but there is no source for that ROM and it is very outdated at this point. It also includes bugs not present in the United ICS builds. I tried contacting @banana4444 a while back but I didn't get a response so I assume he is busy with other things. If anyone knows how it was fixed in that ROM (so I could replicate it on a new build from source) I would be very grateful.
what's the best current ROM for this device? I have 2.3.6 cyanogenmod on it I think.
I'm here too, if you need help on tests

Only just found this thread, sounds like an awesome idea. JianC is the one to talk to about hw acceleration, was trying to help him with it Summer last year but I don't know whether he got anywhere with it.

I have just got a g1 yesterday, I have got RA-1.5.2 recovery on it.
Is there a flashable version of your ROM I can put on it?
It is on 1.0 rc29 now lolz.
I have not had one of these for years so I don't know what the jig is with these now.
It is in lovely condition, it had texts on it from 2008 from T-Mobile lol.
Thanks
Is this still being developed? I might be able to donate a device or two if they are needed.

Best Marshmallow Rom for Nexus 4 - January 2016

Hi guys,
I've been out a lot from the roms community in a while.
I was wondering if you can tell me what are currently the best rom (and key features) out on the market?
I used paranoid, slimrom and currently using euphoria OS.
From my research, both Slim and Euphoria are stuck on lollipop.
Any help?
Best,
FF
One acronym, three words. lol
Next time, read the actual forum you're posting in. Helps everyone out. Elaborating on your question, there is NO best ROM. It's simply an opinionative question, which only you can decide on which one is the best for you.

From my research, both Slim and Euphoria are stuck on lollipop.
Any help?
Best,

Try "Pure Nexus Project". IMO it's the best at the moment, it has a s#+t ton of features and it offers a smooth experience overall. Even if it's been "unofficially" brought to our Nexus 4, we get updates weekly, and the maintainer brings a new update 1-2 days after the "official" update has been pushed out. Paired with a good custom kernel, like "Taurus kernel" or "Quanta kernel", it offers the ultimate experience for the Nexus 4. I don't think it can get any better than that.

I do understand there is no best rom.
If you're not here to help, I don't understand why you came here to comment.
I said I wanted to know what were the best roms by personal opinion and which key features were good.
I can do a quick search about roms (I did), I just wanted to have some fellows experience.

I've seen quite a few videos of Nexus pure and I found it really interesting! Thank you for your opinion.
Does franco still makes good kernels? I used to use Hellscore because of the d2w but now every rom has it, I guess.
for me currently stay at BeanStalk
its like CM13 with +++ feature ^^
Smh, dafuq is this post even on android development.

Even if I'm no help, you posted in the Android Development section, so clearly reading is your problem. It also doesn't hurt to try out different ROMs. Of course, it is all about opinion, so others experiences do not matter until you have tried the specific ROM that you might desire.
I too thought same thing as @xWolf13 wrote. But thing is our nXs4 is in EOL line for Development. I have already wasted 50+ hours trying to various ROMS silently without writing anywhere about what's wrong in each. So I share my experience which should be useful to you. I am Long aged Mahdi ROM and Euphoria fan! Till Nov-15 I was happily living on that, but when MM ROMs started for nXs4, I wanted to switch. I started with Chroma Nov-15 built. It was stable and smooth at starting. But things became unstable after a week, even Random reboots started on chroma, ditching whole experience. Yes its my fault that I root and use Xposed, but I did the same on Euphoria this whole years!!! Next to chroma, I started trying, ---Disclaimer: THESE ARE MY PERSONAL OPINION ---
Fake ROM latest Jan version (Very stocked, and simply not Root-enable. I've also wrote steps on How to Root it as simple as possible, in its forum)
Cataclysm for Nexus 4[Dec 21, 2015] (It's beautiful mod, but seriously lags lot of Custom ROM features)
The Pure Nexus Project ★ Layers ★ [04/01/16] (Since its marked Unofficial I never wanted to try. Unofficial builts don't make future supports, but post above convinces me to try it, which I may soon)
Minimal OS for Nexus 4 [2015-12-08] (Not long supported after Dec built)
SAOSP - M [09-12-15] (Not long supported after Dec built)
Screw'd Android - v2.0.1-(Way too bloated)
RR Remix (Features are good, but many reply its too buggy)
**crDroid** release every weekend (Less features for a CM built )
Mokee Open Source Project ( Chinese font everywhere)
BeanStalk 6.05 - 01/08/2016 (Packed full of features and I like 6.05 built. But Me and some other users have reported and suggested things, also Devs actively responds to posts!!)
So now I'm in Fake ROM, rooted. I use Quanto kernel on most ROM for D2W, USB Keyboard support for computers, MultiRom and Exponential brightness and not for Performance/Battery tweaks, which I'm ok with stock-settings of kernels for mako! Now I'm on Fake ROM with Quanto, Xposed+GB has also become laggy at running multiple Background apps. I may soon try Beanstalk once 6.06 is launched with many users commented in thread..
I always look for **0.Least delayed Support for updates as much as possible, even if its yearly twice, its ok!** 1. Network Speed meter, 2.Smart-Pulldown notifications. When No clear-able notifications are shown, pulling extends to QS 3.Custom HTML tags for status bar time

(Isn't this cool, to have identity shown in our device clock???) Optional stuffs I'd love to have: Custom QS images- like in CM13, Beanstalk,;Slim recents with Long press apps to Force close (it was avilable only once a official custom built of euphoria. I still wish Force closing directly from Recents); RAM bar in Recents; Live display temperature as available in CM roms..
Maybe as @xWolf13 says this thread should be moved to General branch, as its on Development which is misleading...
Although this thread does not belong in the development section, it is a really useful thread. Especially for users like OP and myself who don't have time to flash 5 or more ROMs to find a good one. And let's be honest, it's hard to read through all the long posts by the devs. The bugs are rarely mentioned in the first post and you have to read many pages to find issues. Sometimes the changelogs aren't updated either.
This thread should be moved but not deleted. Also, thank you @dragos281993 and @arvindgr for actually being helpful. I always thought "pure nexus project" would be very similar to stock android (since that's what the name suggests). I'll make sure to check it out.

Nevertheless, I'll try bean and pure nexus! Thank you guys!

I just flashed Pure Nexus.
I'm not finding it truly amazing in terms of features. Nevertheless, it's really smooth and fast so far.
Do you use something for d2w? My power button isn't that great and the rom only has d2s.
Glad my experience help you! @Sekas I'm long time fan of s2w and since s2w isnt supported much, I always use d2w or dt2w on any ROM. I go by this order to achieve it,
1.Flash ROM and Gapps
2. Flash Quanto kernel
3. Install Kernel Adiutor and if wanted install busybox app
4. Search Wake controls menu, and enable DT2W. Also click Apply on Boot
--If on CM Rom, use CM based kernel then use kernel management app... Hope this helps...
It really helped!
I installed quanto like you said and it is all working well. Nevertheless, i cant get my google calendário to work. It always says 'Google Calendar Storage not activated - Enable in setting'. But when I look for it or press the button to 'Enable in settings' it doesn't go.
I cant find any solution online. Any help?
Recommended Custom Rom
You should try Chroma custom rom.
I just flashed Pure Nexus. it is very fast and i am so happy..
Hmm, I also tried Pure Nexus but get stuck with Google play service FC on initial setup. Same with Pure Nexus Gapps as with Banks. What am I doing wrong?
Try some roms and choose, they have a lot of customizations and some can work better for you needs.

Granted Mr. Snarky there may be an issue about appropriate Forum to post, but it is painfully obvious that what is being asked can only be someone's opinion, at best. So what are you going on about?
And there is such a thing as best ROM, even if it comes out only as a thought out short list.
As the other Posters have offered their expertise and I have thereby gained knowledge for my own Nexus 4.

Might take a look in the development threads where extensive activity is taking place. This is far from a device that receives little attention.
too bad if nougat is available for Moto G4 Play. but nougat is not supported yet.. xposed and magisk lack of modules
Some people don't care about xposed or magisk... All I want is even better performance (better RAM management/CPU usage) and better battery life (Doze on the go).

Interesting comment. If truely seeking those characteristics then Android 6 is almost manditory as few Nougat ROMs offer the control available via Xposed.
Agreed 'Doze on the Go' is essential for battery life but easily implemented on Marshmallow via numerous well regarded apps or (ideally) Xposed modules.
Nothing against Android 7.x. It's an excellent base that beings a nice suite of incremental refinements. Unfortunately, CPU/RAM management is no better than native Android 6.x and the lack of Xposed support makes further tuning more difficult (arguably impossible) at the user level.
Android 8 does seem to offer some improvement resource management. Be interesting to see how it plays out in the real world, especially on back ports.
I don't think that Android as an OS can get any better, I mean what else can they implement in upcoming versions? This very cheap device is capable of doing about anything that I need almost instantly. No lags, acceptable day and a half battery life (I don't play games). I expect it to be even better with nougat. Now this is way off topic, but why do people need 4/6/8 GB of RAM, and milion cores qualcomm 8xx CPU (except maybe for games)? I've been using this SD410 from 2013 for over a 6 months now, and it does everything perfectly fine, no one lag... For 150$...

Appears you define 'near perfection' relative to your own experiences and expectations. I could offer various analogies but assume you get the point.
I own numerous Android device with CPUs ranging from SD410 at the low end to SD820 (mid range); RAM goes from ½GB to 4GB. I enjoy each device for the allocated tasks. Things would be much different if I swapped them around.
Do your homework on Android 8. There is a lot in the pipeline, especially for newer devices that come with O pre-installed. In contrast, Nougat was a relatively minor tweak to the already solid Marshmallow. Most of the newer functionality Android 7 has been available since KitKat via Xposed modules. Google just decided to bake it in (thankfully) but still left a lot of goodies out.

Running stock Marshmallow on (bootloader) unlocked XT1607. While I have Xposed and a few key modules installed phone is not my daily driver so may consider stock Nougat if there is an obvious benefit (not seeing it now); AOSP and Lineage are also contenders. Biggest concern is inability to control some protected processes w/o Xposed. At present I score a 0.2% per hour average idle drain rate with all radios, full location services and push mail/messaging enabled. Would also miss UI controls offered via Edge and GravityBox.

Does anyone got the update?
No update yet. Still waiting on the xt1607.
Also still waiting for xt1607. I wonder why India and other countries got theirs way earlier. You'd think they would release them at the same time. What's the difference? 1 sim vs dual SIM?

Ubuntu font and Audio enhancements were awesome. I am going to miss them. Ubuntu font was working fine even in my car infotainment system when using Android Auto link. Are you going to release the removed patches as a separate patch?
Will it still be compatible with other non Sony devices such as the ZTE Axon 7 ?

Great to see You here! So since AROMA is removed and some ROMs and Apps are delivering a Font Changer have i just removed it for now (I still use the Font here with the Carbon ROM on the XZP). The Audio System will be redone a bit to work better with Xperias and less dependencies. Think i will add it back in some Weeks. Same for AROMA. Since it's buggy as Hell (3.0 is a Beta since 2015), and totally fails on the XZ Premium TWRP am i still looking around for a fix. Hopefully am i soon able to add it back, and with it comes another rework of it (Better Structures, Texts etc.).
And Your last Question. Yes, it will still work on the Axon 7 and other Devices. But there is One Thing i already discovered, the new Camera Configs are destroying the Camera Previews on Apps like Open Camera. It shows just some green Fields and may also have Problems on recording. Only way around it would be to remove all Lines containing the word "Camera" in the Snap Prop File. Unfortunately will it not be possible to inject Custom Props while installing since AROMA isn't included anymore, means You need to extract the File out of the ZIP and Copy it back after Editing (Or repacking the ZIP). Wish i could handle that somehow else, but like said, no AROMA no Options :/
Let Me know how it goes and what You think! Will do my best to help out!
EDIT: Default DPI is now 400, may be a bit small on the Axon 7 Think i will at least share a working Prop for non Xperia Devices in the next Days. Should be easy to handle that with Updates since i know what's needed to be changed and removed. Hope that Helps a bit...
Is it possible someone could link a video of this working please? Really interested in this and it may be what stops me from selling my xzp. Would really like to see if the camera is improved as its really not that good compared to others, that's the main reason I'm thinking of selling it. Thanks for all the hard work too
@Miustone
YOU ARE A GENIUS :cyclops:
Installed last Carbon and your patch without issues. My XZP is like having a new life now
Thanks a lot :good::good::good:
I'm waiting for reviews, bcs I think lossing warranty right now is not my opinion. If anyone can tell a little bit about battery life on custom roms, camera distortion and etc, I would be very thankful.
I just tried flashing this along with the Carbon (lastest file) all I get is stuck at the Sony screen.
Works great. Camera quality still isn't up to stock, but it's noticeably better. Can't speak too much for audio, since I use viper anyways, but there's no distortion. Phone is running very smooth and cool. G8142 running carbonrom btw.

Is it possible someone could link a video of this working please? Really interested in this and it may be what stops me from selling my xzp. Would really like to see if the camera is improved as its really not that good compared to others, that's the main reason I'm thinking of selling it. Thanks for all the hard work too

Well, i would keep the XZP. The Camera is better as on other Devices (ZTE, Xiaomi, One Plus, Essential, Wiko etc.) after patching AOSP. The only better working Camera i know will You find on HTC, or Samsung, but Samsung is out of the Race since they force Snapdragons to be not unloackable and Exynos without Sources for AOSP. After using a Nexus, a LG and a ZTE Device do i stick for the next Years with SONY again. They publish great Sources and Tutorials and are just delivering great Support for all kind of Android Stuff. That's also why i think that AOSP is better than Stock...

Which Warranty? Software Warranty? You will just loose the free Service of unbricking Your Software on the Device after unlocking. 99% of the Hardware Damages will be still covered (Like failing Materials, Buttons, Ports etc.). Software Warranty is really something for People outside of XDA. As long as You have a PC, a unlocked Bootloader and Firmware is there almost no chance of turning Your Device into a Brick... Just saying, i buyed My Device just some Days ago and i haven't waited a single Minute to unlock it (Since SONY has fixed all the old Xperia Device Problems like non working Camera on AOSP, washed out Display Colors and all that). Doesn't regret it! The only real disadvantage could be that it will be hard to sell Your SONY after unlocking. But if You want to keep it forever...

Hard to compare, Camera2 API and RAW alone should be worth the Switch. I also think that there is more possible in the Future once the right Configs are found (Picture Quality). Unlimited 4K recording on higher Bitrates and Framerates besides less heat from the Recording is also good to have (And should look better than on Stock). And great to hear You noticed the Performance. One of the Reasons for loving AOSP on My XZP is the fact that we don't need or have the Stamina Mode. I faced heavy Lags with Stamina besides Graphical Glitches and incredible Heat (Not matter if On or Off). Not to compare with how it is now. I played Shadowgun Legends for around a Hour and the Device was just not Hot. Same Settings on Stock caused crazy Heat and Lags after some Minutes. It's really a difference like Day and Night. Sadly does it looks like that the Carbon ROM has not the best System Animations which kills a bit the UI Smoothness. Would really love to see more AOSP ROM's to have the Choice... Maybe do i start a own One in the next Time, let's see..

man, I agree with you in most thing, but I'm waiting for examples of RAW photos, SOT battery and a lot of things... you should start building your own aosp with those features, I'm ready to donate some cash.

I caused Bootloops, mailfunctions and flashed My XZP 100 Times to come to this Point. 7 Hours of Work, and the Camera Bugs around again... I'm done for now! Good Night Folks (03:30 AM here)!

Can You explain that a bit more?
Haven't slept a Minute since Yesterday. Camera is working again but it needs still further finetuning to get even better Quality. Same for the main Audio. The Microphones are working fast and precisely, but the Output could be better. Still a upgrade compared to 18413 but i will put more work into that...
Besides that are there some nice new Features coming. Including VR Support (With Apps and Options), some more Pixel Stuff (Sounds, Configs, Services) and better Display output (Colors are more natural + better HDR Playback). I merged a lot of content from the Pixel 2 XL and updated some HTC Things and it was really worth the Time...
I never got My SONY Nexus, but this is even better since we can enjoy the full AOSP goodness with all this nice extra Features.
Really happy with My decision to go back to SONY. The next Level will be a own AOSP based OS from Me. Planning this for a long Time but SONY is finally a good Base to start with (Easy like with Google Devices)...
Enough for now, i'm really tired :silly:
Soon back with more goodness! Keep an Eye on the Changelog to stay up to date!
