The Cloudyrom proved that the d852G variant of the G3 is able perfectly run d852roms (there are no differences between the two variant expect their names..). Could you please, to permit all Canadians to taste your awesome work, let your roms run on d852G too?
As a novice I understood that the only thing that blocks my device to install your roms are the updaterscript of your rom that only install the rom if it performed on the d852variant. So, could you please include the d852G to the conditions too? I only ask you to type 3words in a single script of your rom that will open it to another variant of the phone, isn't it awesome?
When it comes to AOSP roms, I believe you'd need more than just a updater-script edit. Each boot.img is specific to each variant and therefore another boot.img would have to be bumped.

i ported cyanogenmod 13 from v410's offical source
and i got many soft brick and hard brick
and here is first build, but this rom will make your device brick!
so please help to make this rom bootable
I think we can modify ramdisk via Android Image Kitchen and this fix will make bootable (or need for change device/vendor source)
this rom will work only for LG-P490L,
and i will build for V490 soon
so please don't flash P490L's rom on V490,

i modified some ramdisk, but it doesn't boot
but i can see partitions at ubuntu! (in 12/13 build i can't see that)

all same but just for v490
i don't know it works (i think same as for p490l)
you will meet fastboot screen after flashing this rom
but you can flash kdz via download mode to unbrick tablet

One boob question? You want to build Cyanogen 13 for LG g pad v490? Because our tablet have Android version 5.0.2 and cm13 is Android 6.0. Not booting because of kernel which is build for 5.0.2. You will need the proper kernel. I think! Or, you must modify boot.img. Here is a link how to do that.

He need help in making cyanogen work on v490. Till now the rom is built but not booting. Need some changes in boot.img or kernel. Can you help him? I ported only for mtk devices. I dont know is the same way.

V490 has approximatly same specs like v410 lg g pad 7 withvsome minor differences. Porting cm is not to easy but for noobs is easier than build from source. I've yried to port flyme, miui, colorOS for this device but no boot only black screen.

the approach should be:
1. what version is on the device?
2. port same version aosp
3. upgrade version
so if your device is already running android 5
try porting cm12.1 and then upgrade to cm13

I have an Acer Iconia a500 with Skrilax_CZ's bootloader V8, and I was wondering how to make my own firmware from scratch, in C.
How can I make a .img to install it on my tablet?
Is there a good lib to use in C for this tablet?
There is a lot more questions I would like to ask, but this two will be a good start.
I know it's a big project to make my own firmware, but I rellay like low-level programming!
well it's a linux kernel modified to run this tablet on android GUI
tegraowners.com has developed many kernels for this as well as a lubuntu front end with the latest linux kernel.
the android development is closed code but the linux kernel development is posted to github and maintained
perhaps that is where you want to look.
I doubt that you will get much step by step from the developers but the linux kernels should get you a good starting point
whats the difference between the two maintainer and builder?
there are a lot of nougat roms but they are all not official...as far as i understand because there ie no maintainer. but there are builder. so whats the difference.

Maintainer is a developer, somebody that actually knows programming and also has some experience with it. He or she is the one that fixes device specific bugs.
A builder is just that, somebody that builds the ROMs. Anyone can build a ROM, it doesn't require any programming knowledge.
And there are various guides on how to do it too, you only need a Linux system with decent performance, otherwise it might take some hours only to build one ROM zip.
The Maintainer job is purely a voluntary one. So somebody has to volunteer to become the Lineage maintainer for the S4. But this is not all. He or she also needs to be accepted by the Lineage team, because they don't just take anyone. You need some experience for it.
Another reason we have no official Nougat is because there are still some bugs (such as the reboot bug) and the Lineage team doesn't accept that from what I heard. Oh, and they want cleaner code too.
So yeah, I don't know if he will have any official Nougat any time soon, if ever.
But just because we don't have official Nougat doesn't mean we don't have developers. We still have some people that do some developing for the S4.
Hello Guyyz, its good to be part of community which has such a active development going on, we already have sufficient number of kernels and roms and many are still to come (all credits to devs) .
But it seems littlebit time consuming and painfull to backup , test (different roms) and restore. It would be a great help if any knowledgeable DEV can port DUAL BOOT PATCHER or MULTIROM for our phone. Flashing could be more fun.
