So there is no way to do this, I remember when these phones were first released you could so something like this.
Do you have custom recovery installed?

Here's what I did:
1: DL cf root file that match your phone
2: DL Odin
3: Boot into download mode, connect phone to PC and flash cf root file
4.Download twrp app and let the app install twrp recovery
5. Boot into recovery backup your ROM
6. Download custom ROM on SD card and flash within twrp
Otherwise you're stuck with DL Odin flashable ROM on your pc and flashing with Odin all the time

Hey there, I've recently made the purchase of a samsung galaxy S4 1337m
Once i got it home, the first thing i did was root it via Chainfires Root, and downloaded
rom manager, and installed CWM, and backed up my original OS with the original root
to a SD Card, once i did that I installed Odexed Andriod 4.3 for US and CAN, when i discovered
there was Chainsfire root guide for this version in particular, i tried to install it, what i did was attempt
to flash the latest root onto 4.3 via oden, after which i would flash the modded software to work for 4.3
however, in the process i ended up losing CWM, and the root all together, so i was wondering if anyone
was willing to lend me a hand getting the root onto my 4.3, so i can get my CWM back on.
Thanks!

I haven't used 4.3 but from what I've read I believe you just flash the .zip chainfire provided from recovery.
So now you will have to ODIN back to stock if you lost your recovery, re-root, install recovery (recommend TWRP instead), re-flash 4.3, flash the .zip provided from chainfire in his post here:

Do you know whether or not I'm able to re-flash with oden using the recovery created by CWM?
Or do i need to download the stock rom for my phone, which i imagine I would do a factory wipe
then boot into download mode then flash the stock rom?

The backup created from CWM should be a .zip that is flash-able only from recovery afaik. You will need your stock firmware .tar file and flash with ODIN. This is only if you surely cannot boot into recovery. If you manage to boot to CWM you can flash your backup of course.
Your STOCK firmware can be downloaded here:

I currently did a factory wipe on my device, and flashed using odin with my stock
rom, things are looking good thus far, will keep posted if anything goes not as planned!
Sorry if this is a simple question; What I want to know is, do I have to use some recovery mod and flash from the SD card, or can I simply flash custom ROMs from odin 3.09, the same as I did for my stock rom?
Specifically Imperium ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2706844&nocache=1
Many thanks.

You always need a custom recovery to flash roms from either your internal or external sd card
I'd suggest philz recovery just flash the .tar file from here in odin then enter recovery & flash away
Not sure if you have rooted your phone as yet if not follow this link first
Okay, I never used a custom recovery when flashing the stock rom.?
I can't just download and flash the rom in Odin from my pc then?

You aren't flashing a stock rom it's a custom rom hence the custom recovery ?

Okay, I need to start looking how to put a custom recovery on then.
I have rooted it using Odin already yeah

Yeah just flash it in pda then flash rom from philz recovery then it's done just setup required
You won't need odin again unless you want to return to stock (which I doubt).
P.s you should like the imperium rom you've been lookin at

Thanks, its between that one and Purified with Domination theme (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2454205). Not sure which to go for yet, it'll be down to style/reliability/stability/speed.

No just flash recovery in odin & then just use recovery (power/volume up) to flash rom. No need for odin again
Hi all,
I rooted my smg900f two days ago and flashed a recovery, everything went fine, I tried a couple of custom rom and at some point I noticed that I didn't have root access anymore (checked with root checker). I launched towelroot again, and now it says that my device is not supported yet. Does anybody encountered the same issue ?

I have clockwork recovery, I had Omega ROM running on my phone (maybe at this moment I already lost root but I only noticed it after), I tried to flash this mod, it didn't work so after a few tries I full wiped my phone and insalled Omega 8.0 again. Then I noticed I lost root access when trying to open some apps.
I also flashed the bootloader for SMG900F featured in the Omega rom thread
That's about it

Flash CF Auto Root with Odin, your KNOX flag is tripped anyway. Link http://download.chainfire.eu/397/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f.zip.

Then i suggest you flash a stock rom, factory reset and root/flash custom recovery from scratch. Its seems some files are messed up that prevents you to root. Backup important files to the pc/sdcard first. That is what i would do at least

There should be a folder on the sdcard named Clockworkmod with the backup, save it to the sdcard before you factory reset. No a backup can`t be flashed with Odin, only in recovery

Did you flash a stock rom with Odin or flash a custom rom in 3rd recovery? Just do a data factory reset in recovery, pull the battery and wait 20 seconds and flash a stock rom with Odin.

No, pull the battery andere wait 20 seconds. Then boot into recovery and data factory reset and reboot.
I can't flash a custom recovery for my S3 neo I9300I. I tried flashing TWRP from flashify as well as TWRP manager. When done from flashify the phone boots into download mode everytime even if I boot into recovery mode so then I have to boot into download mode again and press cancel and reboot the phone. TWRP manager just crashes. Rom manager says that there are no CWM recoveries available for this phone. I have also tried flashing from Odin that also keeps taking me to download mode even though it says PASS in Odin and I have to use the method used for flashify to reboot the phone. I'm running Android 4.3 and want to upgrade to KitKat or lollipop cyanogenmod. So what might be the problem here and what can I do to get a custom recovery.
First, you must update your phone, because these recovery are avaiable only for android 4.4.x.

Flashing stock firmware will restore the stock recovery obviously, and remove root access. So flash TWRP again (on Odin disable the Auto Reboot option while doing) via Odin and then flash the latest SuperSU zip from TWRP. Easy.

I really don't know that error mate. But just flash recovery from Download mode, should work. Don't forget to un-tick that auto reboot option in Odin.
