I can't flash a custom recovery for my S3 neo I9300I. I tried flashing TWRP from flashify as well as TWRP manager. When done from flashify the phone boots into download mode everytime even if I boot into recovery mode so then I have to boot into download mode again and press cancel and reboot the phone. TWRP manager just crashes. Rom manager says that there are no CWM recoveries available for this phone. I have also tried flashing from Odin that also keeps taking me to download mode even though it says PASS in Odin and I have to use the method used for flashify to reboot the phone. I'm running Android 4.3 and want to upgrade to KitKat or lollipop cyanogenmod. So what might be the problem here and what can I do to get a custom recovery.
First, you must update your phone, because these recovery are avaiable only for android 4.4.x.

Did you get the correct recovery for that device from the website? Seems to me you flashed one of the other recoveries.
odin would be the only solution.

Ok so I updated to the 5.0.1 update on my S4 yesterday and kept my root using that method with the chainfire app. Today I wanted to try flashing CWM on my S4. Upon trying on Odin 3.09, it said failed and now my S4 boots into Odin Mode and says "Firmware upgrade encountrered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & Ttry again."
WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST DO?
EDIT:
Fixed it, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/general/guide-odin-to-stock-updating-rooting-t2926642

Safestrap doesn't allow recovery boot for lollipop. This is because safestrap hasn't been updated for lollipop yet. Everyone's moving to lollipop someone will update it or come up with a alternative soon I'm sure.

If you want to fix the stock recovery. find the OC3 Stock Partitions file and ODIN it to your phone. If you find the one that's a zip file, you'll have to ODIN a kitkat kernel to flash that in Safestrap.

I don't understand. I've never used safestrap. I was able to flash back using odin to the nc4. Than flashed to NJ1, rooted that, then upgraded to 5.0.1 while keeping root using that flashfire method.
Now if I use flashfire, do a cache wipe that way I can access flashfire's reboot options, select boot to recovery, it will boot to recovery fine. I just can't get it to boot recovery using the volume up, power, and home buttons. It says recovery boot in blue at the top but then restarts and boots normally
I recently tried to change my recovery from cwm to twrp but when i booted my Samsung galaxy note 3 n9005 , it gave the error could not do normal boot ODIN mode, even though the phone is turning on, i can't enter recovery mode and do other things like change my kernel, please help

You are not following the correct way to flash. That is why the twrp wont stick at recovery.
Follow my advice as follow:
1. Remove battery
2. Odin flash TWRP
see the result
tried to install twrp from app.. got the "software not authorized..." message.. tried to boot from download mode as others have suggested but still recieve "software not authorized..." message..
phone was loki`ed from begining and never took at&t updates. in odin 3.09 phone shows as a com..
is there anything i can do to bring this phone back to life??
If the bootloader isn't locked, flash a stock rom from sammobile.com.

thanks for your response... holding the up-volume and power only results with the same "not authorized" screen.. also adb does not list it as a device but odin does add it..
Download mode is power and volume down.

will i need to start over like in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297900 ??
Just flash the stock rom in Odin and perform a factory wipe before booting the stock rom for the first time.

well that worked brilliantly. what should i use to get twrp and root back?
You can use Odin to flash twrp and root with an unlocked bootloader.
Twrp: https://dl.twrp.me/jflteatt/
Flash SuperSU from twrp: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/stable-2016-09-01supersu-v2-78-release-t3452703

Towel root works with the MDL bootloader for rooting. Can't tell you how to get TWRP, I use CWM on my at&t S4.

i just used the CASUAL app i linked earlier.. it worked to get root and installed twrp..
now i'm looking for a decent rom to install.. all the ones i used to use aren't supported any longer..
I hear Thor ROM and Golden eye ROM are nice and fast TW roms. For non touch wiz there is probably an CM or AOSP rom out there somewhere.
Is there away to flash my s5 with out a computer it's running 6.0.1 I'm also looking for a very fast and stable rom with the availability to overclock.

So there is no way to do this, I remember when these phones were first released you could so something like this.
Do you have custom recovery installed?

Here's what I did:
1: DL cf root file that match your phone
2: DL Odin
3: Boot into download mode, connect phone to PC and flash cf root file
4.Download twrp app and let the app install twrp recovery
5. Boot into recovery backup your ROM
6. Download custom ROM on SD card and flash within twrp
Otherwise you're stuck with DL Odin flashable ROM on your pc and flashing with Odin all the time
