S3 NEO issue wont turn on or charge - Galaxy S3 Neo Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello xda developers!
I have an S3 neo and has problem with battery or motherboard.Im unsure what happened as it was normally charging but this year it started to lose battery capacity very fast, i normally charge it and it keeps disconnecting reconnecting from charger soo i remove battery and insert it again and it would charge normally, but in some cases when it shows example 5% and i remove and reinsert battery it would show 100% and then drop to eg. 10-15%, i tried once to totally wipe phone to stock but it persisted. Now i tried to wipe battery information in testing and debuging , the code eg. #*#235424 as i saw battery was 3.4~V from 4.2V full charge soo i was like stunned, i wiped battery information and now it wont turn on, i placed it on charge and by the connector it would heat up not hot hot but slightly warm. i tried diffirent battery but no diffirence. wont go recovery or download mode.
Model is GT-i9301i.
ps. i tought it was micro usb connector from phone , it had some junk in it but i cleaned it.
Any help is thankful

Hello,
there was similar common problem with many people,
because power button is known to be bad quality and get defective,
solution was to desolder power button from mainboard.

if your battery looks like damaged than buy a new battery or reflash stock rom:good:

What is wrong with my Jasjar(s)?

Desperate for help, please read and give advice!
Had a Jasjar for almost a year. Battery started to weaken, so went on gizmos2go.com and bought a replacement. Already with the old original battery, Jasjar started to act weird: power meter suddenly dropped down to 12% and in two minutes back up 80%. With the replacement battery things got much worse. Restarted, insufficient battery power message came on often, car charger did not charge it at all and finally when I took off the wall charger, the charging icon would not change back to power meter until reset.
So I took it back to the shop (in Europe) before the warranty expires. They sent it off to Italy to get it repaired at I-Mate, suggesting it will need a new motherboard. 30 days passed, phone did not get back, so I got a brand new one with a newer ROM, without the original battery.
At first all was good for less than a day. I reinstalled all my software and started to get a message that there is not sufficient power to supply the SD card operation. I paniced, took the card out, no issues for the rest of the day. But this morning green solid led light on (battery charged). I unplug it, try to turn it on, screen blank, green led on. Reset: screen dead red solid led light. Plug in the charger and starts charging from 0%. Charges in one hour and now it seems to be fine. For now…
Anyone had similar issues? Solutions?
Can it be the battery? Is there a way to check it at home?
Can it be a malfunction of the SD card? There is no visual physical problem and works fine in my pc.
Can it be the charger? No name car charger, pc USB cable?
Can it be any sw?
Please, help! Thank you,
IZ
I think its the issue with ur battery coz in ur earlier case and the newer one ur battery was common which had the same problem not with ur sd card , try use with ne of ur friends battery for a day the things will pretty much b narrowed down with the problem .

[Q] Nexus won't detect replacement battery

Hi guys.
I bought a Nexus 4 from Ebay but ever since it arrived I've been having problems with the original battery (the battery would drop from 80% charge to 0, the phone would refuse to start up until i connected it to the charger, and cell signal would drop every now and then).
I just bought an original replacement battery, but after I installed it, the phone would not start, so i put it on charger and the white lightning would pop up and show that the battery is being charged.
The problem is - even after 10 hours at this state, the battery did not charge at all. The phone won't do anything without the charger connected at all, and when i hold the power button with the charger connected the phone just blinks red and restarts to the charging screen every time.
The phone is just acting the same as it is acting without any battery inserted at all.
So to clarify - new battery is not charging, I can get to bootloader mode and charging screen, and when i try to start up the device I get one quick blink from the red notif. light and quick restart back to the charging screen.
I'm having the new battery replaced on monday just in case I bought a faulty replacement battery, but do you have any tips in the meantime on how could I fix the issue?

If this continues to happen after replacing the battery again, the charging port must be fried.

See but the thing is, the phone charges the old battery just fine. I'm charging it right now as we speak.
Battery is probably copy/faulty, get a replacement.
Might not actually be a battery problem sounds more like the red light of death, which may have been caused by the battery changing but doesn't mean the battery is actually the problem. Plenty of threads around here on how to fix rlod

Well I thought so too, but I have tried literally everything except charging the battery with separate cables outside the phone and nothing helped. I actually think this can't be it, because I couldn't find a single thread about having RLOD after replacing battery on the internet. Anyway, I'll exchange the new battery for another new battery on monday and see if that helps or not.

Not everything my friend
Just charge the battery for some HOURS or over the night. All the described symptoms indicate a low battery to me.
cheers
UPDATE:
Just managed to unlock a bootloader in that short period of time i can get to fastboot. But still no change, phone wont stay in fastboot.

Well, i actaully tried to leave it plugged over night. But i think it stops charging right after the red light dissapears, which happens after 15mins or so after plugging. Btw, i mentioned earlier that battery shows 3.7V when measured with multimeter, so the battery doesn't seem to be the culprit... or does it...?

your battery is drained below safe line....to 0%. They warn you NOT to update it with less than 60% battery FOR A REASON!!
Friends case she managed to charge ger asus 7 memopad with non-removable bat to 60% after 8 HOURS, because of a bloatware wakelock drainage to 0% after a factory reset....
If that doesn't work you have to either recharge the battery manually (something like car batteries, you have to unsolder the battery connector because the battery doesnt have 2 gold squares that touch the gold pins like the removable ones, or get a new battery.
Li-Po batteries should never be discharged to 0%, and can make problems if they are not removable (Nexus 4)

I did manage to charge it manually with two small wires and an old Nokia charger, when checking battery with multimeter after a few minutes of charging seems to increase voltage. But i guess if the chip on battery is fried there is nothing more i can do.
I will try to leave the phone on charger all night once again, see if that makes a difference, and update if anything changes.
take off the back, disconnect the battery connector wire and connect it again, put it on charger and see if things change
UPDATE:
Leaving it to charge overnight didn't have any effect. Any other suggestions than changing a battery?
Nah, sorry, but i am out of ideas. You basically tried it all :/

I know there is a lot of threads about bricked N4's, and i can assure you that I have viewed each and every one of them, but i still can't resolve my broblem.
This whole brick situation happened after trying to update to Android 4.3 OTA update, the phone didn't complete the process and turned off, where red light of death happened.
So the scenario goes like this:
If i hold POWER button for ~30s when phone is off charger i only get a Google logo for 2 sec, and phone instantly restarts
Holding PWR+VOL-DOWN buttons when phone is off charger doesn't do anything
Plugging phone to charge (socket or PC) results in solid red light
Holding PWR+VOL-DOWN or PWR+VOL-DOWN+VOL-UP for ~15s makes the red light blink at a steady rate
While continuing to hold the respective buttons and pluging the charger off, and on again gets me to bootloader or download mode (depending on button combo) for ~2s and phone restarts.
I tried removing and inserting the battery 3 times. One time i got blinking red light when plugged the charger in. Second time i got solid red light and third time got solid red light again
I tried charging the battery directly for 15 minutes with old Nokia charger, and it resulted in something different(when i assembled the phone and tried to turn it on with PWR+VOL-DOWN buttons when charger was plugged off, i got to bootloader for 2seconds before phone restarted, i tried to boot second time and the same thing happened, but when i tried it third time i got nothing, just like before) so this was the first time i got into bootloader while not charging a phone.
*My PC seems to pick up the phone for a brief moment when it is in bootloader and starts installing the drivers. Drivers gets installed when i'm in download mode for that brief moment too.
**Phone doesn't get to the white or red battery icon while plugged to charge.
***Solid red light dissapears after charging for ~10mins, but phone won't do anything.
****When measured with a multimeter battery shows 3.7V
I hope someone will be able to help me with this, as it is frustrating as f*ck. I don't have a working warranty, so fixing the N4 isn't an option, and where i live phone repair prices are over the roof (ex. motherboard change for N4 costs ~270$ ).

I had the same problem. Kept it on the charger for a whole day and still only the Red Light.
Took it to a local shop and they said there is a short circuit in the antenna
Took it to the LG Service center and they said my motherboard is gone.
Both were costing a bomb to repair and still there was no guarantee.
IMHO, get a new phone.
Sorry
Have you tried charging it with a wireless charging pad? I got mine to boot after I did that. Your battery is drained and it doesn't have enough juice to charge itself.

Don't fall for the motherboard dead trick. Just a way to steal your money.... change the battery and never let it go to 1%

N910f powers off at ~20% battery.

Running latest Emotion AOSP, phone always powers off suddenly at around 20%.
Restarting gets to the Emotion boot logo for a second and shutdowns.
If I enter recovery mode (philz), battery shows correctly at ~20% and stays on ok.
I bought a new, genuine battery and doing same (16% shut off).
Anyone had same problem ?
Same problem here. Im on stock room i have 2 batterys and phon go off when batery is around 20% Now i make some test and what i see. When i have 20% i use battery drain without flash, baterry go down to end. When i have 19% i use flash in test, phone is dead in second, no samsung logo ets, just DEAD. I need to plug charger for 1-4sec. to power on phone. After power one i see 19% and 3,302V. I Plug charger for second, maybe 2 seconds and the battery V was 3,520.... i go to test again use battery drain and watch my battery V, its 3,500V and go down. I was able to drain battery do 1% and i still can watch youtube for 15 minuts, batery was 3,403V. After this time phone go OFF in good way, its mean i saw samsung logo at power down etc. I plug charge for just power up, and after unplug i see that battery have 3,2V. Now phone is power off, and charging with new battery. Its charging 45 minuts and have 50% (no fast charge)
No idea what happen... I dont want try on custom rom cos i have knox 0x0 and if its hardware i give my phone to warrnity
Any ideas?
Try this

Or buy a new battery.
I tried this and I bought me a new battery. Still waiting for my battery. But I'm sure the Note4 need so much battery, on my side ?
I think many note 4 users have this problem irrespective of being on stock rom or AOSP. Even I have this problem on all stock and stock based rooms but not on Emotion rom. People have bought new batteries but still plagued by same problem. So, I think it's some other hardware that's causing problem or something in the kernel.
In my opinion is hardware. Yesterday i flash 4 file rom with pit file. After install i download from market app fast discharge. App can drain a loot of juse from battery its simplu turn everythink ON... and i saw somthink strange. When i turn all without camera light, everythink work ok. When i turn it with camera light on, i hear somthink in phone and then switch off. I cant power it on, untill i remove battery or plug charge for second. Sorry for english i try discribe it the best i can. Its looks like somthink go down. Power consumption is too big and somthink go overheat, overvoltage or oversomthink. Some hardware part dont hande ampers comsumptions.
Can any1 downoad this app and look in phone. It does not matter how many% is the battery, the phone always turn off and not work until i remove the battery or plug charger

S7 Edge won't turn on / not charging / no recovery and download mode

Hey there, yesterday the battery died of my phone, so I decided to connect it to the charger.
It started charging but very slowly, when it finally was at 3% (after 30+ mins) I decided to turn it on (I thought maybe that increases the charging speed). When it was on for about a minute the phone shut itself down.
I reconnected my charger but then only the lightning bolt icon was showing, I tried again and now nothing is showing.
Now I can't acces recovery mode / download mode / safe mode / or reboot.
I am fully on the official stock and have never rooted my phone. Someone knows a fix?
I already tried turning it on without sim/sd card, and I also tried letting it "charge" for a while.
Charger or battery problem maybe?
try using another charger perhaps it is not powerful enough. let the phone charge until it's full. and it will take more time than usual because the battery is drained to the last bit of electron.
worst case scenario: the battery is worn and you must replace it.
but battery problem doesn't occur suddenly. if you didn't have any problem with your battery, it's possibly your charger or your charging socket.
