I thought all devices running Nougat had to support Vulkan API? I can't get it to work for games that it should work for. I'm on the TMO V20 and I can't find any info on this, any ideas?

Not 100% sure but think it needs to be 7.1 to support that.

I would hope it's something like that, the Pixel which I believe is on 7.1 or later has it working...

As many of you know, it wasn't possible to record calls with the 2.0 and 2.1 android versions. Can someone test whether the feature is supported in the new firmware?
Thanks.

Test? How? Wouldn't you need a recorder app that was specifically coded to use the phone audio stream? If there was such an app and it didn't work for some reason in earlier versions, let me know and I'll be happy to give it a shot under Froyo, as that's functionality I'd like to have, too.

There are apps available in the store, for example "total recall". would be really grateful if u can check that one up, it'll be a decider for me about getting a n1.
Thanks

Total recall doesn't work on anything 2.0+ like Nexus One.
It's in the app description itself.
Looking for alternatives..
This thread is for users to exchange information regarding development for the LG K7
As we all know, there are no working custom roms for the LG K7. It's a real shame because that's just what this device needs.
I would like to revive this community and give a glimpse of hope for a custom rom. The community around this phone is no longer thriving like it was a year ago. Anyone willing to create some projects is welcome to discuss on this thread.
I would be interested in helping with development if I actually knew anything about porting roms. Seeing how most unofficial rom ports have basic stuff like the camera, GPS, or sometimes even WiFi completely broken I highly doubt I'd be able to provide the fixes for those if they arise. Best I could do would be to find already made patches for a phone using a similar configuration, and even then I'd more then likely have to go in and tweak a few things.
If you can provide me with easy to use tools for this sort of thing I'd be more then willing to help, and even then I can't really afford to lose functionality of my phone for even a day, so can't really test stuff on actual hardware for you

See, the LG K7 doesn't even have a basic rom like that. We need a place to start. I also don't have a clue of how to fix problems like that. I also don't have the proper hardware and software to make a rom myself.

Will be porting LOS 14.1 for K7. Working on a similar device now - LG K10 (MS428).

I am working on LineageOS for LG K7 (MetroPCS variant as of now). It's still a WIP and most things are broken. Hopefully I can come up with a worthwhile build soon.

What's all broken? And when do you plan on releasing it for public testing?

RIL, camera, sensors, etc. are mostly broken. Not really usable as of yet.

Yeah the camera and GPS seem to always be broken in unofficial roms, I'd imagine they're hard to find drivers for. Hope you figure it out man

I have a LG K7 permanently rooted looking for some fun so if you need the help I'm happy to help. My fingers are itching to get into some action. I just recently turned my attention back to my K7,since everone in the ZMAX Pro community wants to fuss and fight instead of finding out root. I'm ready to help as of yesterday, so let me know.
:good:

I'd be willing to help on this too, but it looks like you probably abandoned development, which is sad because this thing's probably never going to run anything newer then 5.1.1 unless you can come through on this.
I assume all of you know the galaxy s9 is released, and it has brought some cool features. I'm asking myself, would it be possible to port the s9 rom to s8? It would bring some nice features, like slow mo background, ar emoji(i think), intelligent scan(i think) , enhanced camera app and a lot more. Please give your opinion of that and if it would be possible to have those features on our still fantastic device! Anyone who think he can do this??

Someone will probably will once the firmware drops, nor everything can be ported though as our hardware might not support it, we'll see how things go

are there so much hardware differences? other than the back camera and the normal stuff, there aren't many things changed. Intelligent scan must be portable. maybe samsung will release it for s8 with android p, who knows?? I'm just thinking, would treble give some problems, since s9 has ot and s8 doesn't?

Stuff like intelliscan will be fine, but the s9 has extra sensors on the front aswell, but you know we have good devs, may be they'll be able to port the stuff over

it does? i didn't hear anything about that?
So far, as I know, the features S9 has is related to hardware (like, aperture changes for camera) and also sensor that makes samsung-style animoji available. So, fingers crossed.
Besides it, I think everything already got covered up on S8 & S8+.

In the latest Oreo beta for 950U (CRB8), there is actually a package called intelligentscan. I assume it will eventually be activated, if it is not already.

This is a part of recently announced Android Enterprise Recommended program compatibility of G6 and V30. This is not out yet and we still have to wait, most probably GATE will be included in Oreo update.

I don't exactly know what does Knox do, I've never had any opportunity to check that so it's hard to even imagine what we might expect.
Right now we need to be patient and wait for any official statements which we can hear / read very, very soon I guess

Not from Leeco
I hope so. And may it will better run than Oreo.
Yes, technically you can install it right now. but the camera doesnt work and the other party cannot hear you on phone calls.
Don't expect to see a working version until this Fall.

There is a Github, the thread has been closed for now. But no worries, the Super Genius Codeworx is working on it: so count on it.
Thanks for the quick reply! I am looking forward to it. No idea if I'll still have this phone but I am looking forward to running pie, it looks gorgeous!
