Please read before throwing the "search first" one liner out at me
Ive searched, ive read,
The problem is, sure i can add things to rotate in BSB tweaks, but my problems are a little more tedious.
With most roms comes rotation of the pictures and music tabs, and so on.
But alot of stuff i want to rotate, such as input for setting up email, so i can type it in with the bigger keyboard, signing in on the data services page in all those and so on.
Basicly i want everything that can rotate, to rotate, (heres where the but comes in)
BUT, when i add things like this to rotate it ends up adding manilla which ends up making the pictures and music tab rotate twice putting them upside down.
I want everything to rotate but what the heck, i dont want upside down stuff too
Ive used g-config and BSB in all of the NRG roms on the tilt2 and now on the hd2 and always does this
I would suggest you delete all the rotate instructions in BSB Tweaks and use a tool called Gyratur instead.
Hope this helps.

I only added a couple apps in BSB to rotate. I would need to stop the pics and music tab to stop rotating and then rotate them by adding manilla (i think it shows up as start) to rotate.
Will deleting all the lists in BSB stop the music ad pics tabs from rotating? I dont think it will. Im not sure how to stop them. I think i tried gyrator not to long ago and got the same result, double rotate in music and pics tabs
No no no...
use this program, the default to portrait, run the "Show Apps Name" tab and add each program, along with its desired rotation. Make sure to select enabled and run at startup.

go to exceptions in changescreen config, if you see manila,.delete.it (hold down and then delete). Make sure that default is only the vertical (straight up, portrait) is the only one checked!
I removed manila and still had the double rotation with music and pictures tabs in sense. I rebooted the phone, just so you know. Maybe i have to kill all the rotations listed in bsb tweaks that comes in the rom?
Great, nothing at all on the exceptions page and portait only as deault. Now my all messages page and inside a text convo it rotates landscape and then goes right back to portate.
Just what i figured. No way to disable sense default rotating of the music and pics tasbs and enabling everything to rotate with something else
Have you tried changing the registry setting relating to music and album rotation then setting it to rotate with an app?
No, but i guess ill go looking into that now. And disabling htc messaging rotation too.
Id love to find a solution to this too but from what I've read it seems everyones stuck with the music/pictures problem...
I found a reg entry which im pretty sure enables/disable the album rotation but I couldnt see anything relating to the music tab.....
Someone must know if this will work or not..............

Anyone can get apps rotating! And without rotating manila home!!
Yes i am trying to get everything to rotate without any of the sense stuff double rotating. The most important things id like to rotate are pages where you click and sign in on things like the facebook tab, email setup and so on. I dont really care about rotating anything you listed that you have rotating. Those can easily be rotated with bsb tweaks and some other apps
oohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.............

I want everything automatically rotatable as well except for manila home, BUT I do want the option to (with long press send key for example). Is this achievable?
Anyone come up with a hack to change the default orientation to orientation upsislde down. I prefer having the power button on top. I can easily turn the kindle 180 but some apps/games don't rotate (where's my water). Also I am left handed and don't mind my case opening from the left
You can use the lock/unlock feature (leftmost control on the toolbar that you bring down to change volume, brightness, etc). This locks the screen in whatever orientation you want.
The problem is that that many games (and other apps demanding high video performance) bypass the standard video API and write directly to video memory. Those will never be able to be rotated, unfortunately, through any system utility or external app.
I see. I'm positive there can be a hack to make the default orientation flipped. From an app this cant be done. But once you get into modifying system files. I assume it can be done once the value is located
Agreed. This is something that Amazon should do, though, we shouldn't have to hack our tablets for this really basic functionality. The lock screen not rotating was really bad.
I did a search, but can't find a specific answer. I have a new S4 and took a variety of pictures in both vertical and horizontal orientation. Auto rotate screen is set to on in device settings. All photos displayed properly in the Gallery app, but when I uploaded all to Dropbox, some were orientated sideways and I had to manually rotate them clockwise. This is my first Samsung phone, but all other phones I've had before, Motorola, HTC, etc. did not do this. Am I missing a simple setting on the Samsung to keep photos in the proper orientation or is there a known problem with EXIF data? I have found others complaining about the same problem when emailing photos, uploading to Facebook, etc.
I've noticed that since phones autocorrect the orientation of pictures without saving the correct view. If the camera takes a picture in portrait with the home button on the bottom then there shouldn't be a problem. If you take a landscape picture with the volume buttons facing down, then there shouldn't be a problem. This is assuming the auto rotation is enabled in the screen settings. Yes, I've experienced what you are explaining with since websites. Trial and error.
Quickpic, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alensw.PicFolder is a simple and small gallery replacement that can fix orientation issues.

Thanks oscar, I'll give Quickpic a try and see if uploading from that app does the trick. I can work around the problem, it's just an annoyance I hadn't seen before. I guess Dropbox is one program that does not read the orientation flag properly, at least as output on the S4.

Okay, so i only just made this account. I don't have any experience when it comes to programming. But i just had to get this out.
Is it okay if i rant for a second? Why did they change the split screen mode? It uaed to be really practical but now it's juat a buggy mess! Apps constantly flip out, some apps dont even work because it doesn't acknowledge that the phone is in split screen!
How dose this change benifit anybody? You could already access your home acreen by pressing on the home button! Now i can't use my phone while it's in my pocket without it opening a bunch of apps!! Like who the hell though this was a good idea?? It doesn't add anything other then rendering split screen practically useless!!
Sorry but i just had to get it off my chest
Just a quick question, are you referring to the split screen knuckle gesture? Because it can be easily turned off in setting under accessibility, and there isn't really any significant change in multitasking from nougat to oreo at least visually.
There is a setting that allows you to turn on a touch disable mode that disables the touchscreen when in your pocket.
As for apps not recognizing that the phone is in split screen mode well if it didn't work with nougat in split screen it wont work now. That is true for most games or apps that doesn't scale correctly in split screen.
Im using two of my old Galaxy Note 4's to record tutorials. I have them set up on booms, but once I hit stop, they seem to very much favor portrait orientation unless its at a 30-degree landscape angle. I have the phone rotation disabled, but that doesn't work for the home screen or the camera. I've tried several "Rotation Control" apps, and at most that only locks the home screen, not locking the camera. The phone is for recording purposes only, so I have it minimalist and not even signed into my google account, downloading APKs from PC.
Does anyone know how to lock the Camera Rotation so it will stop re-orientation based on the way the phone it is orientated?
Please help
