Hey there,
I accidentely deleted my EFS Partition with no Backup. My IMEI is still there and I can make calls and use mobile internet. But no wifi/bluetooth/camera and flashlight.
Is there a way to recover without a backup?
I also have an old S5 which is not in use but for which I ve got an EFS Backup. Can I somehow use it? (with EFS Pro)
A lot of thanks
If it's the same make and model the efs might work. Try flashing it.
if you need backup tell me

I recently used SPB to do a "full backup" but it only took 5minutes and the resulting backup file was only 41.7MB...my internal memory has 160MB in use so was this a complete backup and does it usually be this quick? The compression level is set to normal.
I previously used Sprite backup but when I recently wanted to restore it and clicked on the self-restoring file it said "The file cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file"...?
I even tried opening it and my previous 2 backups via opening up sprite -> restore, however it did not find the backup files? Anyone else had this problem.
Lastly, is it best to backup my storage card at the time of the backup? Just that if I ever need to do a hard reset and then restore, won't my system need the files on my storage card to be as they were at the time of my backup? (I have many programs installed on there)
Thanks for your thoughts
Anyone?.....
sprite backup problem
hi what you can try is reinstall the sprite backup program via your pc
and after that try to open the self extracting sprite backup file.
i remember having the same problem and this did the trick for me
gr liang
P.s.
i never backup my storagecard ! with sprite back up on the same storagecard you seldom will lose the data on your storagecard.
you can make a back up on your pc which includes your storagecard but then your backup will be on your pc.
hi can sprite backup work between rom upgrades?
as in , i back up now.
i flash a new rom.
i restore...
will everything be the same as before? including contacts favorite people photos?
will the new rom work properly?? ( as in the old data will it affect the new rom? )
I dont know about flashing a rom but i have tried hard reset then restore from backup using sprite and it restored everything. install sprite back on storage card and also save the executable backup file to storage card. when you do a hard reset just goto file explorer then tap on the backup file. it should restore your phone back to before you performed a hard reset. what version of sprite backup do you have. I have 6.5.4.14
6.2.3 htc edition
I currently use SPB Backup for backing up all my PIM information (contacts & emails)
As I constantly upgrade or fash new roms this is very useful. The size of this file is usually around 2.5MB
I have also done full backups which are generally around 20MB for me.
However I never use full restore after I have upgraded or changed rom. I only use full restore if I have done a hard reset or reverted back to original rom I backed up.
The reason for this is that if you do a full restore, you are restoring registry entries from your previous rom which may conflict with your new rom.
For this reason, I don't personally take the chance and only use custom restore i.e. PIM info
I was using version 6.5.4.8 also tried 6.5.4.14 - same result.
I've changed to SPB backup now and that seems to backup ok...the proof in the pudding will be once I need to restore!
6.5.4.14 works fine for me. my backup file is around 32mb though
I always backup before installing anything just incase
I am new to nexus 4 but not new to android .. with all my phones i experiment with different roms but everytime i change my rom i tack backup of all softwares and data manually and restore it againapp by app(very tedious process).. is there any way or software to do all the backup(call logs, sms, app+data ) and restore it automatically after changing the rom ...
please help
Yes there is. Titanium Backup allows you to back up to SD or cloud. You can backup all apks and data and restore in one go. It's not tedious but takes a little while... obviously.
The pro version of titanium backup allows one touch batch restores.
Hi guys, recently I flashed a Galaxy S5 Pack for the i9505, and i got stuck into bootloop. So, I wanted to recover my contacts/sms etc.. so I did a Nandroid Backup of the /data partition.
I extracted the data.ext4.tar (after doing the cat of the 4 files .a, .b, .c and .d) and i got the databases from the Phone, the SMS/MMS and other.
I did a wipe data, so I tried to restore the contacts by replacing the files from /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases, and setting the right permissons, but it gave me FC so I did a Wipe Data again. Same with messages.
Any hint?
Please, i need my messages and contacts back, they're too important!
Thanks,
SmartAssH3
For next time I advise you backup contacts to Google acount
For SMS use SMS backup or Titanium backup
Hello
Recently my galaxy S5 got stolen and I lost all my titanium backups on the SD-card and therefor my authentication app also got lost. Unfortunately I didn't save any titanium backups outside of the phone so now I can't restore the authentication app to my new phone.
However I found a Nadroid backup on my PC but the new phone is an old Galaxy Trend where I can't really find any recovery or any real support here on XDA on how I could fix it. Despite this I found an app that could root the phone so now I got root which could help me restore the authentication app if i find a way to recover it.
Kind regards!
Hi with which method Healthy imei (EFS) backup How do i get it?
If your IMEI is present and accounted for, download this app from the Play Store, install it, and run it to back up your IMEI and EFS. You can also use this app, which has the added advantage of being able to back up the hidden partitions on the device where the IMEI tends to be stored.
TWRP recovery EFS Would you recommend backup
I always back up EFS when making a nandroid backup. However, that will not be sufficient to restore things if you have an issue with the IMEI.
Both through applications and TWRP recovery If i back up When there is a problem Will backups resolve the issue?
If you have used the apps I provided links to in order to back up things, you will almost certainly be able to restore your device to working condition if there is an issue. Just make sure you store a copy of the backup somewhere other than your S4. For example, send a copy to Google Drive or your favorite cloud storage service, as well as send a copy to your PC's hard drive.
Note: I tend to recommend using the second link I provided over the first, as backing up the hidden partitions really can be a game changer if something happens.
