Extract app+data from Nadroid backup and move to different phone? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
Recently my galaxy S5 got stolen and I lost all my titanium backups on the SD-card and therefor my authentication app also got lost. Unfortunately I didn't save any titanium backups outside of the phone so now I can't restore the authentication app to my new phone.
However I found a Nadroid backup on my PC but the new phone is an old Galaxy Trend where I can't really find any recovery or any real support here on XDA on how I could fix it. Despite this I found an app that could root the phone so now I got root which could help me restore the authentication app if i find a way to recover it.
Kind regards!

There are two kinds of backup/restore...
One backs up the actual firmware/rom the other kind of backup backs up applications
which are installed in your phone.
The best for application backup/restore "Titanium Backup" (it does backup game and application data)
The best way to backup your entire firmware/rom is by using TWRP recovery.
Twrp can be installed using "goomanager" a app which you can download from playstore,
Titanium backup is also an app you can download from the playstore.
Good luck!

Easiest way to restore apps and associated data

Hi folks
A galaxy s4 user here. I have a rooted device and play around with many Roms but am finding my way of installing a new ROM and then restoring my data to be long winded and tedious and am looking for a better way.
Currently I run nightly backups using titanium backup and online nandroid backup.
I am finding though when I restore apps and data using nandroid backup then it all cases its only restoring the app and not the data.
If I use titanium backup I can restore both app and data but the process of restoring my missing items using the batch feature is still messy.
What I want to do is install a new ROM from scratch, connect to google and then use google to restore the apps (as it can only do that anyway) this way I know I am running latest version of app and then use some other restore utility to identify all the users app I have installed and identify the respective data to be resorted.
Is there an app out there that intelligently talks with play store and is able to restore just the data?
Appreciate any help on this. MODs if there is a better forum to put this in my apologises but feel free to move it.
Thanks [emoji5]

How to fully backup apps with data and settings (no root)?

Guys, I am really looking to find a solution for a device without root / TWRP / Titanium Backup:
How (the hell) or which application does a full backup of the apps with their data? Titanium Backup was the place to go, and also Nandroid backups were great. But since I don't have root any more, I still have to find a way to backup like in the good old days.
I used Samsung Smart Switch yesterday on my PC to backup, only to discover after a reset that it doesn't backup and revert the app's data... every setting, login, etc. had to be redone from scratch!
The freaking backup solution should also backup the settings and everything of the app...
Tell me there's something for non-rooted users, that can't be!
Thx

Backup app and data without root

Hi,
Is there any way to backup all my apps and their data for all my apps (including some of them that Hellium cannot backup)?
In the past I used to use Titanium Backup or MIUI backup. Both of them are quite good but I don't want to grant root access my device.
Thanks in advance.
Still a big problem on Android. Try Samsung's Smart Switch.
Yeah, I know.
Smart Switch is for transferring data from an old device to a new device.
I need to backup my apps and their data to a PC, like a nandroid backup or titanium backup.
Sure that there's no backup feature included?
No android blows donkey ass when it comes to backup. Such a simple thing that google has been failing to implement for years. Its root or gtfo!

[Question] How do you backup apps when moving to a new ROM/Phone?

I was wondering how you guys usually backup your phone when going from let's say stock to LineageOS? I was wondering this because I feel my way takes more time than it needs to and if there's a better method I'm glad to hear it.
I'll go first:
I backup first through Titanium backup which is a great app for restoring most data such as wifi passwords and app data for some apps. Secondly I'll make a backup using Helium because it backs up some apps that aren't compatible with TB's way of handling things such as Defenders III. Thirdly and most Important backup I make is through twrp in case I need to go back and get something I forgot or if "the **** hits the fan" on the new ROM.

use titanium backup pro or helium app
You might try to backup apps in titanium backup, secondly for photos and videos and all other stuff what I do is connect my phone to a PC and copy paste all folders displayed latter I can swap them pretty fast
I don't back up my apps. I don't have many apps installed so it doesn't really matter.
For data, I use adb.
Backup - adb pull /sdcard/
Restore - adb push <WHAT> /sdcard/<LOCATION>
I backup with TBU - never had any problems backing up or restoring.
But how do you get Helium to work for your Moto G4? I've tried several times/methods but it just doesn't work. I am rooted with InvictaOS and Helium gets stuck on checking SuperUser. When I cancel that out and try to connect via the computer it fails to recognize the G4, whether I'm on MTP or PTP.
The only reason I'm trying Helium is that I recently got a great deal on a Verizon E4 and want to play around with it. But since it's Verizon...no bootloader unlock. I'm going crazy trying to transfer my app data to the E4, which, ironically, is recognized by Helium.
I have never been a fan of iPhone, but they at least have a method to transfer app data to to a new phone, an area that Android is lacking. If i ever get another new phone that can't be rooted, I'm screwed if I want to keep my app data, such as from my Memo app, etc...
Sorry for rant/hi-jack.
