[Q] Help for Nandroid Restore - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, recently I flashed a Galaxy S5 Pack for the i9505, and i got stuck into bootloop. So, I wanted to recover my contacts/sms etc.. so I did a Nandroid Backup of the /data partition.
I extracted the data.ext4.tar (after doing the cat of the 4 files .a, .b, .c and .d) and i got the databases from the Phone, the SMS/MMS and other.
I did a wipe data, so I tried to restore the contacts by replacing the files from /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases, and setting the right permissons, but it gave me FC so I did a Wipe Data again. Same with messages.
Any hint?
Please, i need my messages and contacts back, they're too important!
Thanks,
SmartAssH3

For next time I advise you backup contacts to Google acount
For SMS use SMS backup or Titanium backup

[Q][I9505]S-memo

Guys I really need your help!
I installed new rom and forgot to backup s-memo. However I did nandroid backup. So I did restore backup and everything went to normal but the s-memo. When I enter s-memo for the first time after restoring os I can see my old files but s-memo is syncing and then goes back 3 days so I don't have all memos. What can I do to restore this because I have made backup when I didn't add anything new to s-memo.
Thanks
Bump anyone ??

[Q] Contacts backup help

I was under the impression that google kept a backup of all my contacts since I have a google account and all photos were being stored there(like iPhone does with icloud). I recently installed twrp recovery and made a backup before wiping and installing a new rom (ROM【5.0】Google Play Edition 【LRX219】 - 12-17-2014). Google does not have my contacts. Is there a way to get just the contacts back from the backup I made in twrp?
Thanks

You can use "Nandroid Manager" from the Play Store to explore and restore specific files.
An easier option is to restore your Backup and simply export your contacts to an SD card via the contacts app, and then go back to current backup, and restore your contacts.

[Q] Advise: best backup app

Hello
I have a Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910C, rooted and running Lollipop 5.5.1
Actually, I use TWRP 2.8.7 for backup (everything is checked-Boot, System, Data, Cache, EFS, Radio) and I wonder is it enough?
Namely, is that the contacts, applications, desktop (shortcuts), calls, sms, mms, emails, bookmarks, ... are included in the backup?
Is TWRP allows partial restoration, system or applications or contacts... only
Otherwise, may you advise me what is the best backup apps on the market (reliability, security and wealth of options...).
Regards
Titanium backup for apps
another vote for Titanium Backup- can restore call log + sms + system setting + mms + apps
Play store link for Titanium Backup
TNX both for the advice
I just installed TitaniumBackup PRO 7.3.0 on my rooted Galaxy Note 4 and when I choose the location of the Backup folder in the external SD card (Menu / Configuration / Backup folder location), I get "Unable to write to this folder" message (see image below).
Although SDFix is not necessary, I installed it... same problem.
Any idea?
I got it... Restart after SDFix

Calendar Storage deleted

Hi I have a Galaxy Note 3 and was trying to remove some bloatware while doing so I accidentally deleted calendar storage. Some people suggested I download the stock firmware and extract the apk but I'm not sure how to do so could someone please help me fix this I have done tons of googling and this is the last place I can turn to.
Backup data and restore your Nandroid backup or Just factory reset.
