Does the oneplus 5 has dedicated flashtool? - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

What if the device recovery part is corrupted with no access to recovery one cannot flash rom RIGHT ? . I know fastboot command is the answer BUT. A half novices won't be familiar with those commands.
I looking for a dedicated flashtool just like Xperia flashtool for Sony devices and SP flashtool for mtk based devices.

[Q] Doomlord for dummies

Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere but is there a dummies guide / video for installing Doomlord kernel onto my play? the full process i.e. how to unlock your bootloader, to the app and images you need to download, and then the process.
A nice youtube video would be great. TIA
neil
Am busy, but there are lots of videos on how to unlock your bootloader for xperias.I think it was by androidsoul community? If you type in Unlockbootloader for Play, you gonna get e-z results.
Whats your model too?Use the very same fastboot ,the one you used to unblock bootloader,to get DK3
Hi, I have unlocked my bootloader. there was a video on youtube using fastboot.
I have a r800I,
2.3.2
build 3.0.a.2.184
What next?
Alright.
Grab a flashtool 2.9.1 ,install gordons gate drivers 22 found in the flashtool Drivers Folder.
Grab this Firmware : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1255095
you may get a bootloop if you dont wipe user data.
Flash it with the X10Flashtool.exe
Follow the instructions zactly.
Then use Fastboot to flash boot the DK3.img
HI, I have flashed back to Uk generic many times, so think I can do the first part.
I do not understand this bit sorry
Then use Fastboot to flash boot the DK3.img
Alright.
After you have the 4.0.A (2.3.3 ,not 2.3.2) you drag the DoomKernel3 img to fastboot folder, shift +rightclick and type this in
fastboot flash boot doomkernel3.img (or in your case its boot.img)
Ok, just so I have it straight.
donwload image. Flash the new image just like a did the old UK Generic. (i.e. using flash tool, then pressing back button connected to PC)
Do I let it boot normally? Or do I go straight to removing battery then boot up holding the Search key (blue light) and doing the flash boot command?
so many thanks for this

No you use a cmd window on your pc and 'cd' /to/the/path/of/fastboot or open your fastboot folder and in an empty space, ctrl+shift - open in cmd - then type the command issued 'fastboot flash boot boot.img'. You need to hold search button while connecting the usb, when the phone is off to get into fastboot mode. Done correctly the blue light should appear.

Sorry my bad mate I misread your post (I need some sleep or glasses lol).
Yes you're right flash the UK generic with flashtool and then doomlords kernel with fastboot command. I'm not sure if you need to boot before you flash the kernel. I would boot just to be safe
Regards Dousan...
all working thanks guys. you the best. shame I just saw 2.3.4 guessing that wont work with doomlord kernel?
Man it boots quick hopefuly setcpu will make my ps1 games run better.
thanks again
DK4 soon will be availibile

FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)

Hello,
I'm pretty new to rooting Sony devices and I can't seem to install custom roms on my Xperia Z2 using fastboot. My bootloader is unlocked (i've checked several times), USB debugging is checked and it believe my drivers are properly installed (fastboot devices cmd recognizes my device) but when i try to run "fastboot flash zip rom.zip" i get this annoying FAILED (remote: Command not allowed) message. I've looked through several threads but I can find any solution that applies to my case.
Any ideas would be welcome.
Thanks
I called Sony. Their official story is they do not support unlocking their own phones.
I asked her why, she said we just dont support unlocking the bootloader on some phones.
Im going to go break this phone and never recommend or buy sony products ever again
What exactly are you trying to flash?
Fastboot doesn't flash .zip files (I think). Whatever you are trying to flash must be extracted from the .zip file, then flashed via fastboot.
If you are trying to flash a custom kernel, you must have the boot.img file extracted from the .zip file in the same folder as the adb_fastboot folder, then hold in Shift then right-click and select, 'Open command window here' then type in cmd, 'fastboot flash boot boot.img'.
Once it says, 'Waiting for device', hold in the volume-up button on the phone and insert the USB cable into the phone.
Hope this helps.
I'm trying to flash android lollipop. I've tried extracting the boot.img flash it and then try to boot on recovery. A few times nothing happened and I couldn't force restore even using adb. Other times I just got stuck on the splash screen or in a loop reboot.
From what I've found online you can flash with flashboot using "flashboot flash zip Rom.zip" it starts transferring the room but it immediately does to the failed remote command not allowed error.

Where did you find that this command works for Xperia devices? I don't say that it can't work, but I see it for the first time (reading XDA for several years). All ROMs which I flashed were via flashtool or recovery, never through fastboot.
The best solution is to follow installation instruction of the given ROM.
RoamenCota
As far as I know most brands don't really support development but have you tried this the Sony Boot loader unlocking website?
_mysiak_
As for the cmd I found it online but I think it was an HTC forum. I guess it might not work in Xperia devices. I'm able to flash with flashtool but so far I've only managed to brick the phone.

I've tried flashing the [ROM][WIP]AOSP 5.0 Beta v2.0 from krabappel and the [ROM][SIRIUS][LP][5.0.1][SM-4.9] CyanogenMod 12 Unofficial [NIGHTLY BUILDS] from infected_ (sorry i'm not allowed to post links). As for the first one the process seems a bit more complex since there is a v2 plus an OTA to install. I've tried the second one first with flashboot but it didn't really work. With flash tool i've ended up bricking the phone.
CM is usually flashed via recovery (CWM, TWRP,..) - download ZIP, put it on SD card, boot into recovery, flash from there, reboot. Flashtool or fastboot should not be required. I would advise you to continue in ROM specific topics about any special installation steps/instructions.

For some reason that rom isn't able to be installed in TWRP recover. There's some install error may due to the fact that's a beta and not completely stable. If it doesn't work i'll just wait for a more stable version.
Just curious, even if it's a zip file, if I extract the complete package to the fastboot/adb folder and run "fastboot flash boot boot.img" there's no reason not to work right?

I don't think that it's worth the effort to flash those ROMs, unless you are really curious. Otherwise you should stick to verified and fully working ROMs.
It depends what you expect from that command. It will work, but it'll flash only kernel. System and other partitions remain untouched. Most probably you'll get bootloop with such combination.

I'll probably stick with the zip flashing via recovery. But what step am I missing to flash a rom thorugh fastboot?
That most probably it's not possible to flash ROM via fastboot on Xperia devices. You have to use flashtool for FTF files and recovery for custom ROMs. Fastboot is used to flash kernel only.

I have been able to flash the stock FTF but never a ROM using flashtool. Maybe that's why.
Thanks

PS.
in case latest software does not appear just press "all Services"
flash latest software available and on top new loader
You mean the open device is the same unlocked boot device?
sonymobile.com - "With the latest software provided through our Flash tool for Xperia devices, recovery mode is available for Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia E3, Xperia M2, Xperia T2 Ultra, and Xperia T3 devices with unlocked boot loader. We are working to make recovery mode available for more devices in coming software releases."

New firmware update 32.2.A.5.11 for Z4 tablet

Hi,
Sony released new firmware update for Z4T: 32.2.A.5.11
See on Xpericheck and FlashTool.
November security patch update:
http://www.xperiblog.com/2016/12/322a511-hits-xperia-z5-series.html
For those who have installed Xposed upgrade to version 87 (due to a bug with november security patch that causes a bootloop)
Nice. Though I think I'll skip this update. I have the best stability and battery life I've ever had on any Android device right now, so I'm sticking with that.
For example, with my Samsung Galaxy S6 I regularly updated, but in the end I was stuck with different ROMs that all suffered from battery drain or stability issues. I eventually rolled back to a very old ROM that performed well again.
Not saying it's the same with Sony, but.. it ain't broken so I'm not fixing it And I couldn't care less about the November security update.

Hi,
Yes it works with the features I tested (X-Reality, camera enhancement). And after flashing drmrestore.zip you got new tabs for update sony applications in
Parameters-> about the tablet->Software update
Here is the Sony service menu after flashing drmrestore.zip:
After trying the CM 13 Alfa version, I can confirm the configuration of Killdozer56 (Andro+ kernel v42) is working like a charm, including keys.
After uninstalling most of the Sony bloatware I have never seen such a responsive piece of hardware.

It really is something, right? Yesterday I was reading some manga for several hours (Berserk on PerfectViewer) and the battery drained very, very slowly. And this is while constantly upscaling images with Lanczos 3 to 2560x1600, which is quite intensive. Super impressive.

Hi,
You are sure you have flashed the right versions for the right models (kernel v42 and TWRP-3.0.2-0-20160604-1.img). Try to reflash via ADB.

I used this ones:
Xperia Z4 Tablet LTE,
Central Europe 1 , Customized CE 1, 32.2.A.5.11 / R4C
TWRP-3.0.2-0-20160604.img
Z4T_SGP771_AndroPlusKernel_v42
flashed via flashtool-0.9.23.0-windows. right after flashing the kernel, there is the red light blinking...and the device soesn't do anything.
I flashed Z4T_SGP771_AndroPlusKernel_v42 - only the img.
Should I flash the whole Z4T_SGP771_AndroPlusKernel_v42.zip??? how would I do that?
You might be up for a factory reset (full wipe) since you are the only one with this combination and touch not working.

"Waiting for device" This indicates that the drivers are incorrectly or not installed
when you type fastboot devices a serial number like CB5A27N6F must appear.
Check into windows devices manager to see if there's no problems when the tablet is connected in fastboot mode (for me i have it under Android devices -> Android composite ADB interface)
What windows version ?

I was also having issues with touch not working, but I found it it was because I was trying to use the rootkernel tool to generate the boot.img with DRM fix... so either the rootkernel tool doesn't work anymore, or the DRM fix is causing an issue.
Anyone know how to restore the backed up TA drm keys without using the rootkernel tool?

QW09 MTK6572 - Is TWRP Recovery or Upgrade to Android 5 possible?

I have a file for a twrp recovery image 3.5.4 and firmware but I have not been able to upgrade any firmware using the computer spflashtools or flashtool. I rooted with kingroot 4.5 then used terminal to replace it with supersu. Rebooted to fastboot using terminal but would not show up left waiting for device. on minimal adb. Recovery was android guy nothing else you could do. Tried flashify, mobileuncletools changed the recovery to a funos screen but still no twrp. Is Magisk possible on android 4 at all or could I possibly use firmware from another mtk6572 with android 5 or 6? I thought I had all drivers installed computer recognizes it as storage just wont appear as adb. Thank you for any leads
I didn't understand clearly. Do you trying to flash a rom with sp flash tool with watch on fastboot mode? if yes sp flash tool won't recognise the watch. Watch needs to shutted down (turned off) for sp flash tool. (Forgive my English)
