Hello there,
Just a few minutes ago I was browsing GearBest and, out of curiosity I checked their listing of OnePlus 5 (6/64 and 8/128). Except for the obvious price difference (25-45€ less) from the price on oneplus.net there is a mention of a TF card. Moreover, people asking about the card are getting confirmation that they are selling the Chinese version of the phone and that it has a TF card (TransFlash, which is more or less same as microSD).
What the duck? Is the Chinese version really have microSD slot?
Thanks for your answers!
Nope, there is only one global version of the OP5 and it doesnt have SD card slot. I have the Chinese OP5 too and no SD card slot
maybe yes
Let's try to find, IF IT IS POSSIBLE I will tell you.
Mine is "chinese version", bought at china, and it doesn't have SD slot

I have been following the discussions in the forum on 4GB SD chips and wondered if anyone had tried the TakeMS Secure Digital Card 133x 4.0GB (MS4096SDC-SD4R) which is made in Germany? It seems cheaper than the TRANSCEND x150.
Many thanks, cjb
Don't know about the "takems", but I'm using one of the very cheapest 4GB SD cards in my Universal and it works just fine. The brand is "AData" and the actual chips inside it are Samsung NAND which is rated at 155x speed apparently.
I bought my 4Gb SD on Ebay, £52 delivered from Hong Kong.
It's totally unbranded, no printing or label on the card at all, although the listing said it uses Samsung Nand.
Works perfectly.
I have a 512MB card installed with TomTom map, music, some apps installed, etc.
If I buy a new, bigger card, can I just use the card reader in my PC to cut/paste everything onto my new card, re-insert it into my XDA Mini and it'll all work?
Cheers
PS - can someone recommend me a good reliable place to buy miniSD cards? I'm wary of sites offering very cheap brand name cards (SanDisk, etc) in case they're fakes.
Cheers
Yes you are correct you can just transfer the data from your old card to a folder on the PC then to the new card with a card reader.
While I was in the UK I bought cards from http://www.photo-scotland.co.uk/ and in the US from Amazon.com.
Hope that helps.

Why? Okay maybe if they are pushing brand name cards, but why pay more than you have to? I got a 4gb Mini-SD card from the same Chinese shops that makes brand named cards for under $30! Try that at Best Buy. Heck you can not even BUY a 4gb Mini-SD or a 2gb Micro-SD from a big box store. At least none that I have seen. If it is all made in China, why pay the middle man???
www.newegg.com usually has good prices.
Purely because I've heard horror stories of people losing data from fake cards (mostly on PSP forums)

Yes. I've even written a full tutorial on this; see http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=516&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
I had a fault with a 2gb peak card that it would randomly not be read or corrupt all the data. I swapped it for another and that works fine, ive used cheap brands in the past and this is the only one that ive had thats faulty.

I have heard stories of minsd's in particular that have been "hacked" to display as 4gb cards but only be 2gb while in use. Those of course comes from ebay.
Yes, stick with Newegg.com
I've have actually seen them, a guy tried to sell my the load of mini and micro sd cards. I can tell the firmware were hack, there was no way he had more than a hundred 4gb cards. And if your buying from ebay, buy from someone with alot of postive comments, and stay away from generics.
for anyone who is wondering SDXC 64gb cards do work in the surround, I had originally done the 32GB upgrade, and now have moved up to 64GB running the nokia rom have not found anything unstable etc, its just as fast as it was and everything works fine
deleted
I have passed 34GB no problems still as quick as ever, I have no idea if it will work with a stock rom
model number of microSD card you used?

yes very important info thanks
Sandisk
This is the card I have
Model SDSDQUA-064G-A11A
Sandisk UHS 1/64gb
I can also confirm that it works fine on the intrinsic rom, becuase I flashed it in order to send the unlock cab to my phone to free up my 32GB card, as well as teh original 16gb card that was shipped with the device.
Something interesting to note is that I find the device is actually faster with this card. load times for games etc. I am never retiring this phone even if I just use it for media its kick ass
What about battery? It work same time or less?
I'm wondering if the Sprint version has a sd card slot, on the best buy site it doesn't give different versions with gb but in the description it says it has a sd card slot for expandable storage. Best buy

That is a typo...no US version will have a SD card. All the other major US carriers don't have SD card slot or removable battery. Only the Korean version has removable battery.
Never trust what Best Buy or even what Sprint posts because they can have typos. Like on Sprint.com, it lists that the G2 doesn't have Wifi. Obviously the smartphone will have Wifi so that already gives it away there. The best way to verify specs is to look at the LG website. If you look at the link below and go to Technical Specifications and expand it, it only shows Internal Memory of 32 GB ROM (24 GB user memory).

Like the title says, i was curious if the GN3 supports MicroSDHC cards. i will be receiving my phone in the mail and will want to buy an SD Card and when i search Best Buy's website for 32GB MicroSD cards, all i seem to get is High Capacity...
And if you search for 64 GB card all you get is sdxc, lol. HC stands for high capacity =32GB XC =64GB etc and some tested Note3 with up to 128 GB and actually there is a guy waiting for 256GB card and I'm sure he will report soon, but I would be shocked if it didn't work. Just try to get 10 speed = UHS-1 and don't get scam and buy fake and you'll be fine.
Many thanks. Seems like it just went completely over my head
