Wondering why no one has mentioned this yet. My OP5 doesn't seem to have F2FS like my OP3T. Wonder why it was dropped. Isn't F2FS better than EXT4?
Edit: Triple checked everything. F2FS is indeed removed from the OP5. Any speculations as to why this was done? Will it be easy to switch back to F2FS for the data partition?

It will be possible soon but currently there is no twrp able to change the filessystem to f2fs. Lets wait for some updates.

Gotcha, thank you for the response. Appreciate it.
Lol wipe all with twrp like I did and then wonder why your data partition is gone.
Then if you go to wipe change format twrp formatted it to f2fs.
The problem is that oneplus has to support it to.
Having that said ext4 is not a problem it is more stable and with the new ufs speed is not an issue.

That is not true. Current twrp cannot wipe as f2fs on oneplus5. The data partition on oneplus5 is made by samsung so f2fs is already supported but not added to the twrp yet. Maybe to avoid issues with current roms.

Yeah that is the odd part twrp formatted it to f2fs with a full wipe and than it could not read the partition.
I had to reformat it to ext4.
But f2fs has to be enabled in the kernel to so in other words we will need a dev to enable it by including the necessary comments.
Last time I checked the format witch is used by oneplus is ext4 and why they reverted to ext4 if you know it.
All the oneplus 3 and t builds were on f2fs

Don't worry we will have f2fs and laos based roms very soon.
Op5 used ext4, because f2fs unstable:

Use wipe data/cache (factory reset ) option in CWM . Make sure you install a rom after that
Just do wipe data from cwm recovery and flash the new rom. If im not wrong you only have to flash ext4 patch for an ext4 rom but not the other way around. Tbh i didnt find any major difference between ext3 and ext4.
Thanks Guys i thought as much but wanted to make sure. No i never noticed any major differences between them but i want to flash Honeysense 4.0 when it's uploaded and it's ext3. Gotta love Honeysense!!! Big ups to Samuel!!!!! Just a few more posts then i can post on the dev area's of the forum. Silly rule!
Haha me too. Got what i think is a bug in tb fusion rom so trying to get my posts up so i can post it in the dev forum. Might give honeysense a go actually while the bug gets fixed.
Honeysense is quite good
but im waiting for the EXT4 version now.. please come out tonight
Yeah the ext4 version should be cool the new rosie is excellent and mattes new swype keyboard he is developing looks to be his best work yet!
Sent from my DHD on Honeysense through the XDA App! Take it easy!
Honeysense HD EXT 4 come out already
A question from me, so if coming from ext 4 you just do a full wipe in CWM (system, data, cache and then factory reset) then install the ext 3 ROM.
But what if your on ext 3 and want to try a ext 4 ROM what is the procedure ?

If u want to go to ext4 rom, u run first full wipe ext4 1.5 and then the rom.U will find full wipe zip in every ext4 rom in addons.

What it does?
yeah i'm also curious to know the difference..

Is different ways to partition the SD Card but what are the differences exactly and what are the pros or cons for our phone I have no idea, at least not yet

This is not true! This is not concern SD card.
If you use EXT 4 in your phone, for example using rom ARHD 5.1.11 which is build on EXT 4 , your device will work much better, and SD card stay untouch.
So does the ext4 format speed up the usage or not? AND is it noticeable or not?
Because in nearly every update for roms they write speed improvements, but I don't really notice them.

I think the speed improvements are quite minimal but noticeable, after formating everything to ext4, i noticed a smoother handling.
So why not trying out and test a little bit? It works, dont worry The newest LordMOD UE Kernel for example has many ext4 patches inclusive.
Sry for my bad english =)
Forgot to say: I use CM #108 with LordMOD UE 4.5.1 Kernel and newest Radio, works like a charm

I have find5 w/ coloros and I'm switching to cyanogenmod nightly snapshots.
I was wondering if there is any option available to keep coloros and enable dualboot and also have cyanogenmod installed?
Simply you cant, and most probably never will be able to. This has something to do with the partition layout and the difficulties with changing those combines with the different roms. You should make a bachup with twrp or cwm make a full wipe (except sd storage ofcourse) and install cm. If you dont like it simply restore your backup. Give cyanogenmod some time to settle before you decide wich rom fits your needs best.

I already know I like cyanogenmod (used it on other devices) but have a bunch of 2factor auth accounts and bank apps setup on coloros and it's a pain when switching to a different ROM.
thanks for info

Move APP to SD
Hello everyone,
I need your help, do not get move apps to my SD card. I must make some previous operation on my SD card?
And I have a question: What is it F2FS? To be used or served?
Thanks a lot!
From what I understand, there is no support to move apps to sd on lollipop (yet)
f2fs
"f2fs: bring up to date with Jaegeuk's branch (android_kernel_samsung_jf)"
Does this mean F2Fs partition is now supported?
Will try tonight would be awesome. Ext4 is sooo outdated and slow

Miscellaneous Bug is here
So I have again this bug. How Can I fix it?
Recharge your phone and watch the overall battery life from 100 to 5%.
When it is good forget about it. If not install better battery stats.
In my experience the Battery Information is not like it was in KitKat.
I think the misc is some kind of calibration and will go away after a few recharges.
After the first install the information displayed depends on 2600mah which no battery except new ones has.
Hard to describe in english would sound more logically in my native language
Stuck in Bootloop
I'm using TWRP, I wipe data/restore factory and when I install the ROM.zip it says this:
E: unable to locate partition by back-up name: 'and-sec'
no MD5 file found
failed to mount /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc1/by-name/system at /system: INVALID ARGUMENT
unmount of /system failed; no such volume script succeeded result was [0.200000]
After that I install gapps and I'm stuck in bootloop.
What does this mean? How can I fix it? I'm currently running CM12 by antares and alucard
.

Wipe->advanced wipe
Select cache->change or repair file system->ext4

i've tried 3 different gapps packages and none of them worked with the nightly build from 1/20.
the apps are always crashing
Why does AndroidOS have such a big battery use?
Its the same like Display and the Browser.
No root?
I lost root when I installed this. Did this happen to anyone else?
It seems 1/22 build has battery drain issue. I reverted back to 1/21 build. I read someone posted about changing lockscreen. I have the same issue, i accidentally change my theme and now i have different wallpapers. Sounds cool but it wasnt.
NOTE: Download theme with nice wallpaper then choose it in themer. Just the LOCKSCREEN WALLPAPER and you are ready to go. (cyanogenmod lockscreen wallpaper is cool but ehemmm i dont like it.)
lockscreen weather
Hello,
On the 21-01 build, i have weather on the lockscreen but since the 22-01 bulid the lockscreen weather is missing...
Have you got the same PB?
Thanks
Hello,
What is the file system of nexus 6p?
With original nougat ROM?
I am using Franco kernel. Is there advantages to change the file system?
Is there a tutorial to do it?
I too am interested in this. While looking for tut I found this, it's old but the concept is probably similar. After work I'll try it to see how it goes. In article it says to use modified twrp, I'm using 3.0.3 and will look for that option.

You would need both an f2fs enabled ROM and kernel. Stock Google factory roms for the 6p afaik don't have f2fs support.

There's a F2FS TWRP in the Flash Kernel thread. The thread is locked now, but the links might still be up. It will only work on a decrypted device. It won't accept your PIN/pass/pattern if you're encrypted. I'm not sure the unofficial 3.0.2-3 had F2FS support.

Yes that's the one I was referring to. IIRC that version was the "go-to" unofficial version while the latest official images were bugged. That version was build directly from TWRP sources with the patches to fix the bugs included and that's it. You can't use that version to swap to F2FS. You need the version I mentioned in the flash kernel thread. It will not work on encrypted devices and decrypting will force you to wipe all of the data on the phone including internal storage.
Edit: here is the post for the F2FS TWRP. Seems like link is still up;
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70127399&postcount=2785
So you need that one for F2FS and you need to be decrypted, if you want to try it.

Like I said on the first page, To get F2FS fully working it must be supported not only by the kernel, but also by the ROM. Stock Google roms will never have F2FS support, unless Google decides to add ROM support in the future.
Custom ROMS have the necessary commits that allow F2FS to work.
Am i the only one here hyped with the newest AOSPA?
Arter97 is a known developer for samsung devices and now OP3, he seems to bring a lot of cool feature in terms of kernel and sd card format.

Hopefully those features will be carried over to N6P. I'm really looking forward to this rom.

IIRC, N6P can't format either system or cache to F2FS. It requires more space than the partition has available. Can anyone comment on this?
No Nexus or Pixel device has an external SD card. So,...It will be different than other ROMs.
