Hi, so basically I am satisfied with my S7 edge but it's become a bit sluggish so I thought of doing a factory reset. Then I thought maybe I can root as well, device is 15 months old, not much warranty left anyway. I am satisfied with stock Rom and use Samsung widgets, Samsung gear fit, I like it the way it is but surely I could debloat it. Is there any stock debloated Rom that I could install? Also pre rooted? And how does rooting in general work, I only have experience with HTC and they had their devportal to do that. What's the Way to go with S7 edge? Thanks!
I will help you and guide you.
So i also have S7 Edge and im rooted since i buy the phone.
I love stock look with debloat and root. So im using stock roms, no fancy modification and that things..
So..
This is how to flash superstock rom with superstock kernel and supersu!

Yup ?
Alright thanks. Looks like it's quite easy to get twrp on there, from there I'll got the rest. No experience with Samsung but I have flashed tons of custom Roms back in my HTC days, I think I'll figure it out. Maybe I'll get to it today, or maybe tomorrow. Odin I had already set up and flashed the nougat Rom manually back in January, so I got that working already and from there it should be easy to handle.
I must say the superman Rom is also looking nice, seems to allow a bit more customization. I'll have a look at both and decide later.
Why don't you just use package disabler

Yeah, cause that's absolutely the same as rooting and removing.
Alright, thanks Talentooman! SuperStock Rom is currently installing. I chose clean install instead of Full wipe tho, cause I also wanted to wipe internal storage.
Why do I need to flash Kernel and SuperSU again later? It was already chosen during Aroma installer. But I can as well just do it. Waiting for the first boot now.
[Edit] everything works fine, I just need to sort out SafetyNet now.

Have you installed xposed? If so uninstall xposed login on snapchat and reinstall xposed... Problem should be solved!
And if you didn't install xposed make a backup and do a factory reset...
If none of the above helped install a custom rom if you want but that's all i know

I tried to install xposed but my phone got stuck on the samsung logo . You know any way to install xposed ?
So you don't have xposed installed... And you can't login on snapchat. I'd recommend to install a custom rom and first install snapchat and see if you can login but just be sure a cyanogenmod based rom is really good but you will lose touchwiz functions. Or you could just try a factory reset.
@luizinho123 did you use the uninstall framework flash zip? When your S5 got stuck at the samsung logo?
Also if you wanted to install xposed I would also agree with @RadsGam3R to install cyanogenmod or use samsung kies to reflash your device. Then install snapchat and login once you done that then you can do the following if you want xposed installed.
1. Download the correct xposed framework zip file here >
sdk23 for marshmallow
sdk22 for lollipop
sdk21 for kitkat
2. download the xposed installer here >
3. Reboot your device into your custom recovery and flash xposedframework
4. Reboot your device it may do another reboot in the process
5. once you're back in install the xposed installer and just download the xposed modules that you would like, then go to the the module section and tick the checkbox and reboot.
6. Sit back and enjoy xposed!
If you have any bootloops please read the known issues section on this post here >

I installed the ressurection remix rom but couldnt record a video . And i want to install others roms but ive noticed that asks for aroma installer . I ve no idea wht that may be .
@luizinho123
you could try looking for these files to see if they exist if they do delete them. They are XposedBridge.jar and xposed.prop
you find "xposed.prop" in "system" and "XposedBridge.jar" in "system/framework"
once done reboot and try login in again.
Aroma installers are flashable zips but they give you the ability to customize the install, a bit like the typical windows installers where you can change the location of where the program is installed. You can run these in the custom recovery environment.

You could be unfortunate that's the case for you because it was mentioned in this post here.
If you really want xposed you can try a custom rom then take the steps to flash xposed framework. This is what I have been doing for 15 months.
If you want the most stable custom rom I suggest using cyanogenmod 13, practically I have been using this for some time and rarely got any crashes.
You will need tho gapps along side because they're not included within the rom, I use Opengapps but you can choose a vaerity of gapps wether if you want all of them or ust the minamul just to have the playstore. There is an aroma installer which worked in the past for me, but no longer does for me for some strange reason. where you can choose which gapps you like installed. But I would recommend not using the armor installer as it can cause instability with the rom.
You will need to flash the gapps and rom together and you will only need to do that once providing your staying with that custom rom.

No problem
I wouldn't worry too much about aroma installers as I rarely had to use one myself. Aroma installers are part of a flashable zip file, which you would flash like an normal zip flle in your custom recovery, this video gives a good example of what you can do with one, Here >
I would recommend this rom since I found this more stable than Resurrection remix/ bliss pop/ AICP and liquid smooth, At least in my experience anyway.
However I have been testing this rom for a few day and seem pretty stable and much quicker than any other rom I tested so far!
Also in order to flash the files to install a new rom on your device you will need a custom recovery, I recommend installing this app for the latest custom recovery for the g900f

2. Wipe cache
3. Wipe dalvik and art cache
4. Flash custom rom
5. Flash gapps
6. reboot into system.

can you remember when you last updated your phone whilst it was on stock?
So here it is "Shadow kernel "
Works on pie as well as oreo
Thanks to @felix3000 its his work not mine i am just sharing
Here comes the Real deal /
The kernel wont be flashed with just going to recovery and selecting your desired options in Aroma !
First Be on a clean installed rom or flash stock boot.img
Then flash shadow ....///"dont select any options or change anything just keep tapping on next and install shadow ....
Once you reboot go to about phone there you can see shadow .
After that you can go to recovery again and flash shadow with desired options of your choice !
Link :-

thanks for sharing the info, - I mean the installation trick... If I'm already in the recovery of a clean flash do I have to reboot the phone before flash again?
Yes follow the above steps !
Can this kernel support new android Pie tree?
-delete
So my situation right now is pretty ****ty, I almost bricked my device, but I got stock firmware form xda and thats okay, I wanted to unroot my phone, opened up supersu but it said that I wasn't rotted, then I went to snapchat it says that oh no your attempt blah blah blah, then I tried to play pokemon go, still same which means that I still have root but I can't unroot, btw I have TWRP installed, what do I do? Oh and my device is SM-G900F.
Flash magisk uninstaller to clean up root
Flash magisk 17.2
Open magisk manager
Goto settings
Hide magisk manager app with random package name
Goto magisk hide
Select snapchat & pokemon go
Sorted - you have a rooted device & can use above apps

Make sure you have installed Samsung USB drivers
https://developer.samsung.com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows
Odin
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4431597&d=1519662712
Twrp
https://dl.twrp.me/klte/
Switch phone off
Put phone in download mode (hold Vol down home button and power button)
Connect phone to PC via USB USB
Push Vol up to start connection
Put twrp image.tar in the AP section of odin
Begin flash
As soon as the phone restarts enter recovery mode by holding Vol up home button & power button.
Failure to immediately enter recovery mode will mean twrp will not stick & you will need to reflash
If it's not flashing change usb cable & try again
You also may want to update your firmware if not already on the latest version - you can either download the entire firmware from sammobile.com or if you are planning on using a custom rom & don't want to download the entire stock firmware you can just update the bootloader and modem
G900FXXU1CQK3_G900FXXU1CRH1
https://duromaticspares.uk/lineageos/G900FXXU1CQK3_G900FXXU1CRH1_Baseband_Firmware.tar
Again put in AP section of odin and flash
I have samsung drivers installed, I'm going to try and change the usb cable, and what is that download link that you sent me? Is it stock firmware?
So ok TWRP worked, but when I try to flash it I get this error:
! Boot image patched by unsupported programs
! Cannot uninstall
Thanks for the help wiith odin :victory: !

What are you trying to flash? Magisk?
Sounds like you have previous kernel mods that are not allowing magisk to flash
Best thing to do here is flash stock rom via odin and start again
Goto sammobile.com and download the latest firmware and flash via odin
Once flashed goto recovery (it will now be stock recovery) and perform a format data/factory reset
Obviously backup any files to pc before you do the above
The other link was the update for modem & Bootloader which saves downloading the entire latest firmware
Flash in odin - place in AP section
However since you are going to be downloading the entire firmware as long as it's the latest version you don't need this

I got a brand new Samsung Tab E 9.6" (SM-T560). Shame on me, I didn't notice before it comes with Android 4.4.4
As many apps require newer OS, I'm wondering if I can upgrade it to Android 6.0.
Plase note:
1. I'm not an expert, so please explain me as easy as possible how to do it, if it can be done;
2. please tell me, in case,if it's 100% legal and/or if it can void warrant.
Thank you.

Check again --- Just picked up the same thing this week at Walmart for $129.00 + $25 Google Play credits - it came with 7.1.1. - Take it back sounds like you got some real old stock..
They do come with Android 4.4, however if you go to Samsungs web page you can find a crispy 7.1.1 image you can flash with Odin. Then if you wish you can unlock bootloader and flash a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP and then chainfires systemless root. Cheers! Upgrading to just 7.1.1 with Odin will not void your warranty, anything else that involves unlocking the bootloader will and is will trip samsungs knox security feature. If warranty is important only flash the 7.1.1 image using Odin.

Hi, I was with the same problem, and I posted here in XDA, I'm from Brazil, i have the model SM-T560, and now i'm using nougt, from Lineageos 14.1, and this was only possible, because someone from Xda, gave me the following link:
http://www.gearappsnap.com/2018/03/14/how-to-install-android-nougat-on-the-galaxy-tab-e-sm-t561/
The rom is of the SM-T561 model, but also works on the SM-T560, read everything before doing anything. When installing TWRP, you can install the version of the SM-t560, which will not make any difference.
One more thing, I advise you to see some YouTube tutorials how to install TWRP. Just in case.
Thank You for your help!

For nothing, follow step by step that will work perfectly. Except this will end your warranty, but it's the only way to install an update. If you need any help, just talk.
gearappsnap site is not really good made.. The download links behind text which look like a normal one and also that it says, flash boot.img only when the memory is wrong..
Well, CM14.1 did not work for me.. I had to flash boot.img before EVERYTHING else, then rebooted again to TWRP and THEN install cm14.1.
Um, did you follow step by step?
I followed what was written, and for me it worked normal, The boot.img file is to fit just the memory of the table because it had some problem with the rom, without installing it, has tablet that got locked in infinite loop. And the links were working normal for me.
Links that i download:
ROM: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1D0wrGM4XyZMo-t3ll4trvJ93Pl1KEZ1V/view
Boot.img: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bqGmu4NTlEeKdsFPGjIY9lnPqujjazr4/view
softkeys: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ddSB28g1xTd0J7sl8V6QmlPZA1aX77ot/view
Gaps: https://opengapps.org/
First the TWRP is installed, with the battery above 70%, then restarts the tablet.
Within the TWRP:
1) Wibe-> advanced wibe-> selects almost anything but not microSD and OTC. and Wibe.
2) Back to the home page-> Install-> select the external storage (the files must be saved on the SD card).
3) The first file to be installed is the rom.
4) Once installed, go back to the files and at the bottom of the page you will click install image and install boot.img.
5) After Boot.img is installed, switch back to Install Zip, and Install the Softkeys.
6) After installing the softkeys go back and install the Gaps. (I used the ARM-7.1-Pico) and restart the tablet.
In my case I did not install superSU. That's what I did. This rom has some flaws but better than Kitkat, that's what I think.

In reality you have to install boot.img and softkeys before, the reason is because they are modified for the T56X, otherwise install themselves after the gaps will give error when to use. At least it is what was written on the site, and so far I have been using no defect at all.

I do not think that is effective. if you come from 4.4.4 and install it before the lineage ROM (BASE 7.1 for example) it will be erased again because with the new base everything is overwritten.

Well that didnt work for me.. Was coming from Stock 4.4 ROM. Flashed the CM14.1 AND softkeys, but NOT the boot.img, because you cannot flash zip and img files at the same time. Then I booted it and it crashed 10-60secs after it booted. Sometimes it had a boot loop.
Then I tried CM 13 which worked fine and in a german board, someone wrote (based on the gearappsnap site) that the boot.img has to be the first thing to flash and even reboot into twrp again and then flash CM14.1 + softkeys + gapps.
If you could install it, that's what matters, in my case it worked the way it was on the site, there are some bug's, but it's a lot better than the stock rom, and I was already using a custom rom on the T560 before installing this LineageOS 14.1,and it was this link:

Szia!
did the upgrade work for You For galaxy tab e?
Done this and it worked but.........
The tablet is really slow, not netflix compatible with this version, and so on....
I think I just might downgrade again
After I have tried step 3, it didnt open in twrp mode. My tab stucks in black screen with "Samsung galaxt tab e " text in background. Please let me know how to proceed.

I've seen people here struggling with rooting j701f a.k.a J7 Nxt. I always got bootloop when installed TWRP and flashed Magisk, so little trick here is installing custom kernel; i am using Helios kernel 3.1 and it works perfectly. (Select wifi driver new with android pie when installing, first option).
Technically it should work on J7 Nxt /Neo /Core. Tested in J7 Nxt 701F, DDU6CSF1 Stock firmware OneUI 1.1 Indian Variant.
Procedure from start.
Given:
You're running on Pie.
OEM Unlock option enabled in developers Option.
Get Odin - https://odindownload.com/SamsungOdin/
Get TWRP - https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-j701f-core-nxt-exynos-7870/recovery-t3693009
Get Helios Kernel https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...70/kernel-heliospie-kernel-3-1-j701x-t3941438
Start Odin and untick auto reboot option.
Select Boot.tar file in BL
Select Recovery.tar file in AP
Flash.
Unplug phone.
Remove battery.
Put it back.
Hold Volume up (+) then Home then Power button for 20-30seconds
Press Power button.
Press power button again.
You'll see TWRP recovery 3.1.1 , say thanks to GhaithSYR
Swipe to modify system.
Format data, Type yes (Beware it'll erase all data and factory reset except SD card.
Flash Kernel.
Reboot.
Update Magisk.
You can update your TWRP to 3.2.1 : https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-exynos-7870/stable-twrp-3-2-1-j701f-t3742401

PM for Queries. Bit busy so posting it short, will update Detailed guide soon.
NOTE:
for OEM Unlock option enabled ( I used miraclebox EE activation, but not sure it got it on with it or it was by default, See reference guide)

If you mess up and device is not working there is very easy way to get stock rom back. No need to panic at all.
Go to Sammobile.com get your Stock Rom.
Flash via Odin.
Done.

It means phone is not OEM unlocked flash older firmware and check. It's been long i rooted this phone, currently not using it I don't remember exactly what I did to get rid of this msg - unofficial binary.
But i remember changing date back to few months and enabling allow OEM unlock.
There is another guide of rooting including a tool phoenix something. Search Xda it exits here. All I can say is keep fighting i tried a lot time and at the end it worked, I even used custom kernel Helios and rooted properly with magisk.
