I used to use greenify but I found it caused more harm than good. Maybe try better battery stats to see if anything is draining your battery as well. Wakelock detector can be good too

Install a black Amoled friendly theme. Also install black themed versions of apps like facebook or twitter etc this will dramatically increase your battery life. The more pure black on your screen the better

So I recently bought an s7 edge from Verizon and it has horrible battery life compared to other people with the same phone. I went to Verizon with this issue and all they did was give me another phone in exchange for the previous one but that did not help. Sometimes the battery drops 12 percent on standby overnight. I have found a few apps which have been draining my battery but I unfortunately cannot disable them: gear vr service, help, and knox use over 12 percent of battery each. I wish I could root the phone but no roots are out for the snapdragon version. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Can't you just use disabler pro to disable those apps

Im really amazed how people just go to lets say phone provider and say that they dont like the phone and they get a new one . In Poland I think this kind of thing just wouldnt work. Especially that at the moment this phone is sold out and i was luck to get mine so fast.

Factory reset?
Yea try as mentioned above to disable them otherwise boot in to recovery and factory reset the phone, or perhaps to start out you can try to wipe dalvik and cache in recovery

I don't think using location is what is causing my battery drain because like I stated before my friend also has the same phone but on a different carrier and even with heavy usage his phone battery life is amazing. But I will see which apps do use location a lot.

Do you have AOD on at night? That will burn through some battery.
Those three apps are interesting. How did you determine they're using a lot of battery?
When I look at them in the application manager each one says it's used 17% of battery since the phone was fully charged (24 hours ago). But that can't be accurate. Added together, they'd use more than 50% of my battery capacity, but they don't show up as individual apps in my battery stats, and the largest user (Android System) only used 30%.
Can you post some screen captures of the battery usage screen showing the apps using data? You might also try force charging to 100%, then force closing those apps, and see if there's any impact on battery life. If not, then it might be worth trying Package Disabler Pro. But most Edge owners seem to be getting good battery life, so I don't think that should be necessary.
I am getting the same drain (S7 edge verizon). It only drains my battery at my dorm wifi and when I go home it's fine. I don't think it's a Samsung issue since my LG G3 with a 6500mah battery can't even last two days on standby.

Love that this phone is receiving so much developer attention. There are new roms literally popping up everyday. Howoever, I have a small request to make. I would like for the roms to be more optimized for the phone. For exmaple, on CM13, the phone is heating up even with minimal apps installed. the battery life is also very poor, and android system and play services are draining battery. There are also sometimes random reboots. I flashed to the unofficial Resurrection Remix and the battery life was wors. I love how much smoother and featureful the roms are but please make them more optimized.

I didn't encounter any of these problems. Battery life is fantastic, phone doesn't heat up and nothing is draining. Did you change the governor from performance to interactive?

I flashed the XIaomi.eu roms but the battery life was also terrible. Only the stock rom has good battery life.
I have used CM 13 by Santosh and it's battery life is very unpredictable. So switched to RR by siddesh and it's giving very good battery backup and SOT of around 8~9hrs. Just ensure to do clean flash

xiaomi.eu roms should have same or better battery life compared to Stock MIUI Rom... because they only remove bloatwares and optimize bit. That has been my experience for quote long.

Get a good app like GSAM to tell you what's using your battery. Greenify can also help you put apps into hibernation more quickly, though I'm not sure it's as helpful with more doze in Nougat. Lastly, leave your phone sitting motionless and it'll go into deep doze more quickly

Ye but i mean... Default "Battery optimization" (i mean the setting feature) is veeery weak, arent there something more 'deep'?
And also, does 1080x1920 worth in terms of battery life?

There is a forum on XDA about 1200x1920 this but it doesn't do very much for your battery, a little bit but it seems not worth it, some apps have difficulties with an alternate resolution then the default 2K resolution we have.

Yeah. Use an app as I suggested so you know what's actually using it. You can't apply a general solution to a specific problem in this case. You might have something wakelocking your phone, or an app behaving oddly. Many Android defaults aren't as good as you may want (ie - stock sound), so that's the beauty of OS. You can tweak and customize to your specific liking.
Turn the phone off.
Hi guys,
I'm picking up an H870DS and don't plan on rooting (not like I can atm anyway) so I just wanted to start a thread on what you guys did to max out your battery life and performance without having to use root. Maybe some settings drain batt or maybe you disable certain apps. Let me know! You can also warn about what things cause battery drain and such so other users can avoid them.
Add to this thread and I'll try my best to edit this and compile your answers below.

Yes, system sucks a lot. Even just removing useless app (like quickmemo+, lg health, facebook pre-installed bloatware) you can gain a little improvement in standby consumption.

Not for the moment being, I don't want to lose warrenty nor I have problems with battery life (I usually get 4-4h30m of SoT over 24 hours), the only major battery drainer is the frikking LTE once I'm out of wifi range. I hope that they find a way to make it suck a little less

No, I've read some people complain about that, I personally haven't had that problem so far, neither with stock launcher nor nova.
Maybe since it arrived just yesterday, you could try with a factory reset and, if prompted, choose not to install lg apps when asked.

Just remember you can delete any app (even system ones) with adb, look fo rthe thread on removing bloatware, it describes the process, was quite easy, I deleted LG Health, switcher, and few others, also Google newsstand, music and movies and definitely have seen a difference, remember to also disable the LDB function (LG 24/7 tracking of phone) with the hidden menu, that also makes a difference to battery life!

I recommend you to download the latest full package of your rom and dirty flash from updater app in miui.
I mean just flash it, dnt wipe anything.
https://bigota.d.miui.com/V10.3.11....IGlobal_V10.3.11.0.PFJMIXM_a63c8d3d93_9.0.zip
After that, pls debloat your room as in the thread above , you will see this will make it far better stand by and reduce battery consumption, cos i had the same and solved like that.

I had the same problem for 3 weeks. It sometime go away for awhile then manifest itself back. Also trying many troubleshooting things to no avail.
What solved the problem for me is uninstall Games app as mentioned by this comment https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78453063&postcount=31.
TL;DR: Uninstall bloatware (with Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot Tools) as many as possible especially the Games app (Package: com.xiaomi.glgm).
YMMV
Got the same problem. Androidsytem uses like 25% of my battery according to the stats.
Debloated as much as I could and couldnt see any strange wakelocks. My device is deep sleeping well.
Still no idea why Android system uses so much of my battery
