So going into July 2017 and the Note 8 right around the corner. Who still has their Note 7? Who truly held on and is going to make it till September?
Fully working second edition Sprint Note 7 on PH9 firmware right here.
Got my Note 7 on release day, still have the original, still charges to 100, still best phone on the market... but I'm going to trade it for the Note 8 and be sure to root it ASAP so I don't have to deal with any bull like they did with the 7... just in case lol
Still.got mine....but stuck on PHE Firm beem
N runnin package dis pro...thank god
Still have mine, 2nd gen green battery. Running PHE with 100% battery. Use every day and still believe best phone ever made.
Still rocking my note 7 from day one
Hi, Samsung auto updated my phone so I can no longer charge it. Is there any way around this?
Still got mine, going to trade it for the Note 8 !
I wonder what will come with the FE Starting to come.
Still have mine and working fine. Just found out Samsung is doing a buyback for any Note7 at $425.00. I'm doing it now. They will offer the 128 gig SD card and wireless charger to. I think it's a good deal and going to do it.
I saw the phone a day before the release and it's good to trade in this Note 7 and be done with it.
First edition Sprint Note 7.
What do you guys think I can do with this?

Could you lead me in the direction of how I can go the same route. Samsung has been giving me the run around.
note 7 last firmware needed
i have probleme with my note 7 i lost invoice and samsung dont want to exchange it and i need last firmware to solve it it stak at samsung logo and need last firmware to recver it, i try flash maney firmware and no luck my bootloader is version 3
Still have mine. I had gotten 2 of them when they came out. Then the recall and exchanged mine. The girl i was with had the other but we went different ways so i turned hers off and reported it stolen. Sprint told me that device had been exchanged. I asked without being on my account or having authorization for doing so? They tried to hold me responsible for her exchanged N7. at which point i said no they had the device i bought and its thieir fault they gave a phone to someone who was not on my account. i will not pay for it so they took it off my bill. Afew weeks ago i ran into her and she gave me back my N7. LOL with the battery kill update already installed so it will not charge. Back after the 2nd recall i downgraded to the S7 edge. Now i have a new un-usable N7 that is not on file anymore and a perfect S7 edge. which i will be exchanging for the N8 tomorrow. Now what to do with this N7? lol
October 5th and still running just fine.... I might even hold out till the Note 9 at this rate...

What firmware and android version?
bought one in september for ****s and giggles sprint it didnt have the kill update but the very next day i went to swipe it away and it installed so now im just watching for something im going to buy an external battery case for it so i can use it off the charger still has 46% battery but i dont see anything online on the software version apl2 except one in Vietnamese saying they have a fix but looks like need to call them and im not down with that.
also considering just maybe sodering some wires straight to the battery from the usb port to possibly bypass the circuits to charge but iim gonna wait for a while as im not sure if i want to yet
Its a release day but updated to PHE, it's a US Sprint model

Annnnnnd it's gone for 16gb models
htc is selling them for 250
got me one of these bad boys..already on the fedex truck for delivery
I ordered one (32 GB wifi white--the only one left in stock when I ordered) and it'll be to me on Monday. I'm very cautiously optimistic because I've heard a lot about the issues it has had over the past year, but for the price point I figure it's worth trying. I can always return it if it doesn't work out.
For that price you can't go wrong. I love mine. I got my 32 gb lte for 200.00 bucks on Craigslist. I think most of the people complaining about them paid full retail. I'd grumble too if I paid 600 bucks for any tablet.

I've had mine for about three weeks. Also got the white because that was all that was available at the time. This tablet has been great. I like it more than the Nexus 7. I haven't seen a single issue and battery life is great.
Ordered two 32GB white ones (only ones in stock...) in the sale and got them yesterday. Both are 27 Oct, 2014 manufacture dates and have very recessed buttons, the easily depressed back shell, and a decent amount of light bleed. Planning to call Google after work today and see if I can swap them. The buttons are my biggest annoyance so far.
I ordered the 32gb white version during the sale. I'll have it sometime tomorrow.

I received the Nexus 9 today I ordered on November 25 on HTC's Black Frday offer to replace my Nexus 10 which is struggling with battery life. It was built on 11-13-2015 (HT5BD). It came with Marshmallow's 6.0 Build number MRA58N, and immediately after the first boot it installed the November 1, 2015 security patch. I just completed unlocking, installing TWRP, and rooting with the modified boot image and Chainfire's BetaSU. I chose the traditional root versus the systemless root as last week I soft bricked my Nexus 6P when I tried rooting with systemless root (also ended up with the traditional root on the 6P). I have not noticed the light bleed on the Nexus 9 that apparently at least original users noted. Also, it will take a while to get used to the buttons as they are almost flush with the case and are very stiff.
I received mine today too from HTC (white 32) with a build date of Apr 15, 2015. Been crashing quite a bit doing system updates and the volume rocker is super mushy; hell, after pressing it to vol up, it doesn't always pop back up. Build quality seems much worse than my partner's N9 that was bought last year.
Just received mine. Holy hell that is quite a lot of incremental OTA updates. Been updating/rebooting for the last two hours.

Got a sand one to test if it was any better than my replacement from BB with a Jan 15 build date. Unfortunately got older stock which was still on 5.0 out of the box, bad light bleeding as well, worse than the small amount on my current black one. So sand ones are not perfect either as people have suggested. Trying out a tab s2 right now and waiting for the pixel c to drop...

I'm wondering if I should try another nexus, I really love the feel and look of it but I too may have to wait for the Pixel C release. My Nexus 9 died while updating to M and I'm scared to get into the return madness I experienced while in search of a perfect Nexus 10. The bad part is I already ordered a dbrand skin for it before the tablet was delivered.

Thanks. After many updates it's now on Marshmallow. Installed TWRP, SuperSU, and added ElementalX kernel. Totally sweet tablet for $200. No complaints so far.
Old
Received mine from the google store, these things are old, more than 1 yr old.
screen is OK, light bleed is not bad at all, buttons are not clicky but oh well, for 199, what can I expect. Still using my N10, I gave the N9 to the wife (after root, debloat).
Free RAM is 840mb- .89GB on 5.1.1, good enough for browsing and FB.
The thing is very very fast, no launcher refresh at all (with Nova) Battery life is good too.
@wayne710 I though marshmallow was a dev. preview? My n9 came with LRX21R and I switched to cm12 the day i got it so I don't know what updates became public. Still waiting till the whole systemless root becomes more stable(and easier to use) on mm.

Nope. After receiving mine I had multiple OTA updates and ended up with Marshmallow. Then I flashed TWRP and rooted.
There's absolutely no other phone I want, so I'm seriously considering not turning my phone in and continuing to use it. Plus I'm not at all happy with the compensation of a $25 credit. What I would deem fair is allowing me to "use" an S7e or ANY phone I want until a suitable replacement phone (S8, Note 8, etc.) becomes available and then turning in the loaner for the better phone. Anyway... anyone else going to chance it and just keep on using their Note 7?

I really like the phone. But, it's not worth risking my life and property for.
Just got my replacement in the mail last Thursday. It's been working just fine. Doesn't get hot or anything with heavy use. I'm going to continue using my revised note 7 till they try to force me to deactivate it
Ive had a rough time getting a replacement, so ive been looking into the pixel xl or just snag a nexus 6p for cheap. Its not worth risking to me.

I'm going to keep mine because I have not had any issues and do not want to get a new phone. This mostly due to how terrible the corporate sprint store near me is. I had to go into the store 3 times to get a replacement.
The only problem (aside from the whole catching fire thing) is I doubt they'll be working on any software updates for the Note 7 now. No Nougut for the Note 7?
Sent from my SM-N930P using Tapatalk
I really wish there were better options out right now I would switch in a heart beat. Unfortunately there's nothing even close out right now or coming out in the next few weeks. If they force us to move on I'll probably go with the v20 or 7 edge.
Sent from my SM-N930P using Tapatalk
I upgraded from a Note 3 to a Note 7. I need a Note with Micro SD card slot. I went on Ebay today and bought the best Note 4 I saw as a backup plan. I still have the original recalled Note 7 and plan to keep it for now. But like kstephens98 said, it won't get updates. And who's gonna wanna continue development here? I think I'll probably use the Note 4 until (hopefully) the Note 8 comes out. I just hope I can still get a full refund if it comes down to that. There's no other new phone out there that I would be interested in.
there is no competition.
i'll hold it until they have another fixed batch or until the Note 8.

As much as this comment exactly describes how i feel i have to return the phone. This is the hsrdest decision. Even harder than returning the first one cause last tine i knew it would be conning back. But it is now giing to be gone forever.
The main reasons are these
1) the phone cost $900. If i keep it i cannot get a new one probably ever.
2) development Will be non existent.
3) no resale value at all in the rare chance i could afford another one.
4) my husband will refuse to let me keep it even if i wanted to ignore 1-3
I was hoping for a new batch but from what I've read Samsung has officially dropped the note 7 all together.
Out the money for my case and have a gear vr which i cannot use. THIS SUCKS

Just an FYI just got this tidbit from Sprint Chat:
"Daniel M:*You can check the availability of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 with our Telesales team as the device is not available online and we are trying to get it back soon but any date is not confirmed."
was also confirmed by Telesales
If they get the note 5 back, I'd take that. I honestly don't think PHYSICALLY the note 7 is that different. On top of that, the Note 5 is honestly the best alternative. As sad as it is to say that a year old phone is the best alternative...it really, honestly is. I can deal without the USB-C, I can even deal with the lack of SD Card support(I haven't used an SD card in ages as long as there's a 64gb version). The water resistance would be nice...but after owning the S5, it was more.....convenient than anything. The "IF it drops in the water I don't have anything the worry about" feeling. I took underwater pics once just to say I did and could but....not like I'm gonna go swimming with that bad boy in my pocket lol.
Lastly, and most importantly for me, is the S-Pen. Unlike a good number of people, I actually use my....a lot. Which I find either people use it A LOT, or never lol. Anyway, if/when the Note 5 becomes available again, then I'll go back to that. But this Note 7 really was the PERFECT phone.
Water Resistance
S-Pen
AMAZIN screen to body ratio
iris scanner is way more functional than I anticipated
just the right about of edge on the screen
THE SCREEN PERIOD lol
the camera was near flawless in my opinion
everything about this phone......
If only Samsung wouldn't have rushed things. I think this phone would have beat out the iPhone anyway. Thing is, people who buy iPhones, buy iPhones. Getting them to switch is difficult because they're usually invested in apple products. iPads, Macbooks, lightning adapters, etc. People who buy Android phones are usually invested in it. Samsung people usually have Samsung Tablets, enjoy the gmail/google apps integration, enjoy the mass amount of free apps from the app store lol. This makes me want to cry lol
Went ahead and exchanged mine for an S7 Edge. It's a very nice phone too. Plus I didn't use the S-Pen like I thought I would.
In addition, Got two free gifts for my first note and my replacement note and now I've been approved for my S7 Edge. Three gifts, one purchase.
Anyone thinking of trading it in and doing the gift thing, sorry, it ended Oct 9th I believe.

ugh. I am going to call the corp guys tomorrow when I have time to ask what they are going to let me get away with. I am leaning like some others to the LG V20, but since it doesn't come out until the 28th it's outside a 15 day window. Would go without phone/phone payments and a Note 4 I pick up used for now if it meant using my upgrade later.
already sent my old phone back to them, as required to not get charged. So can't go back to that. After thinking about it, the S7 or S7E is a horrible choice since they will be replaced soon and then I'll be pissed I just got an old model.

I am going to keep using mine. There is NOTHING else that is even close to the Note 7. All of us who own the phone knows it is the sweetest one out there. I had considered the LG V20, but I would feel as though I had an inferior phone; judging by the reviews.
The reason I am here today is to root the phone to prevent Samsung from sending some type of kill update.
Sooooo, with the news of a potential 2nd recall on the Note 7.

I'm so glad I got rid of this epic failure of a phone! Unfortunately I decided to keep my wife's Note 7 so I now have to go through the whole [email protected] return process all over again..
I'm jumping ship. I can't keep going from device to device. I tinker way too damn much.
I need a device that I can root, hack hotspot and live with. I'll find it somewhere.
Sprint choices are slim.
Still have my original Note 7 (not replaced). Staying with it for now til I figure out what I want. Going to press Sprint hard to allow me to upgrade once a comperable phone comes out. Been with them for 17 years, so if they wont let me upgrade theyre losing a long time customer. Probably going to get an S7e, just really pissed about it.

wait until Oct 20 when the Google Pixel is out. I saw rumors it might work on Sprint network :good:
Went back to my Note 5. Returned Note 7 at corporate store already. The return actually went pretty smooth.
From what I hear there won't be a replacement. If there was I would keep my replacement one till they fixed the problem even if it was 2-3 months down the road. If I thought they wouldn't send a kill switch down and would actually support the phone with software upgrades I wouldn't even care and keep this one, but I have no use for a phone I can't get accessories or support for.

I have a pixel c and after playing with it for a while I don't know if I would go the pixel route for a phone or not. Spec wise it's great and it works fairly well but it's just boring. It's neat but it isn't even in the same league as the N7. The phone could be better or it could be the same. Who knows?
I did see the pixel was being built by hTC though and I decided a long time ago that I didn't like the direction HTC was headed as a company and stopped buying their products.

So I had the first note 7 that got recalled I bought offline from someone, not directly thru sprint. Not one Sprint store would exchange it for the revised version before so I had to call telesales with sprint and they mailed me a replacement. Well now after 4 days of having it, they made the 2nd recall. Will a Corp sprint store take my replacement phone back for a refund or exchange for another phone? Or am I stuck with the revised note 7? I'm not having any problems with mine but I'm sure this phone isn't going to get anymore software updates or support since the recall

They should exchange your phone or refund.
To those of you who choose to keep the phone, realize that you'll be the only one liable for any damages now that the phone has been recalled - even if it causes your house to burn down with your family inside.
Even worse, if you ignore the warnings and your phone burns someone else's house down, they'll also have nobody to blame (and sue) but you.

I just flew they told me to power my note 7 down that was it
Social media killed the Note 7 not Samsung. The hand was forced because people blew it out of proportion! I still have my day one Note 7 (which is the china version) and I haven't had any problems and doubt I will. People just kept sharing it and the media kept fueling the fire. I don't plan on giving my phone up. They'll have to deactivate them in order for me to consider something else. I'll just end up paying full price to buy the next Note if they decide not to deactivate them.
I'm not giving mine up either. We need to start a root bounty. It's unlikely that any of the good devs will put any work in, but maybe. This phone has potential to be a cult classic. I saw that someone actually got CM 13 working on the exynos Note 5, so maybe that could happen here. I hate this locked bootloader. Sprint has always played nice until recently. I emailed Chainfire and begged him to find a root method, but I never got a response. You guys should email him too.
Out of all the note 7 owners left, no one is capable of rooting it? I just got a message today from sprint, with a video nonetheless telling me i will experience service interruptions if i don't return it

Interesting that I didn't get that message. Rooting won't help service interruptions from Sprint. If you can unlock to use on a different carrier then it's a different story.

I have found new Note Edge phones at two T-Mobile stores near Atlanta. Should I use my Jump plan to get one?
I love my regular Note 4 and was planning to hand it off to my wife when I got a Note 7 (replacing her Note 3). A few days ago the Note 4 started claiming the battery was too cold and refusing to charge, then said it was too hot and shutting down after 30 seconds of up time. The warranty replacement is backordered, but when it comes in I might switch to a newer phone. I really need to keep a stylus phone, so what do you advise?

I decided to get a Note 5, despite the glass back, non-expandable memory, and sealed battery. At least it'll get one more OS update, and my wife always uses a heavy case, so I can pass it on to her when I get a Note 8.
The problem now is that every store I called said they had sold the last Note 5 and don't know when or even if they'll get more in. I even looked for a refurbished on the Samsung site, but they just point back to Tmobile.
My replacement Note 4 is in great shape, but it seems to lose the GPS signal pretty often.

Yes, I don't think Samsung will kill the Note line, so there'll be a Note 8 release next August or September.
