Hi i just got my new s7 edge "SM-G935FD" but i alredy got a problem with it. When i plug in the charger it charges fine but when i try to lock the screen it stops charging and charges directly so the screen turns on and off but if i turn off quick charge it stops and i can charge while having the screen off why does it do that ?. Sometimes i can lock the screen with quick charge but not always.
Try other cable, mine broke after 15 days, if that doesn't help return the phone.

every time i plug the charger while the phone is off the phone turns back on
usually it just displayed a battery icon, but recently it boots fully everytime so its impossible to charge while off
also if i turn it off while its charging its boots right back to the homescreen as well

During one night my phone just broke down. The screen just stays black and the power button doesn't do anything if the phone isn't plugged into a charger. When charding the phone vibrates, a battery empty icon shows up and it shuts down. It then repeats this as long as it's plugged in. When I pull the plug the phone goes blank again.
While plugged it tries to start when I press the power button. It gets to the samsung logo and shows it for awhile. Then it just shuts down and continues to show the battery empty icon.
I can get to the recovery and download bootmenus. In these bootmodes the phone doesn't shut down unless I pull the plug.
I flashed the original firmware with odin but it did nothing. The system status still shows: custom. But the system binary is Samsung Official.
I tried to switch the battery but it didn't help.
This all happened overnight and I havent installed any apps outside the playstore in a long time and I rooted the phone like 5 months ago. I haven't flashed any custom roms.
Do you think this is a hardware or software issue and should I take the phone to repair? My only concern is the system status and will it affect their will to repair my phone.
Edit: When I flashed the original ROM back the phone could not reboot when plugged into the pc. I had to pull the plug so the phone shut down. Then I plugged it into a wall the phone rebooted normally but couldnt once again get past the samsung logo.
Tried a different charger? or USB > PC ?

Different charger didn't help. And when plugged into a computer it behaves the same as it was plugged in the wall.
Sounds like a faulty battery, check to see if its swollen and maybe go buy a new one.

That's what I would have guessed too......but he says he switched battery......
2 batteries with the same fault? Probably not........

Ah, i missed that. Maybe something happened to the actual connector in the phone to the battery, something like that? Whatever the case definitely sounds like a hardware issue.

Just to make sure, I'd advise finding someone else with a working S5 and borrowing their battery to put in his phone to see if it boots........
If it does, I can say with pretty much 100% certainty that it's a faulty charger port........
Edit......having said the above, I've just re-read the OP, and the fact that he says there are signs of life when he plugs it in leads me to think that it's not the socket itself, but something else........
Maybe a problem with the charging circuit?.......

hello,
I got Galaxy Note 3 (N9005) just two months back from Ebay. It was working perfectly since today morning I charged to 86% and unplugged it usually using 2.0 cable to charge the device but now its not powering UP, tried to unplug the battery , sim for several minutes but still the same issue
After plugging the charger again its vibrating every 3-4 seconds and showing battery with grey color and O written inside it after it a wrecked line showing at different points that's crossing the screen just like screen is damaged or OS is boot loop
Trying to power on while the charger is plugged it just show Samsung NOTE 3 screen and sometimes samsung logo gets load with blue LED continuously onn again the battery charging issue
youtube: chvRbwgT9n8 or U5B2By7fGII
but it does not show green battery any more
since its not starting up and only shows activity when its plugged in USB/Wall charger , unable to use it. is there any resolution on this most of the Note 3 users are complaining about the same issue
tried to boot it in recovery mode and restart the device from there but still no success
this issue is occurring for the last 3 hours and i am really annoyed how to resolve this issue
tried USB 3.0 as well with laptop but no success even after 30 minutes
if the battery is drained it should start with the charger plugged in but it isnt starting any more.
**Update
plugged on wall charger
started the mobile with Volume Up+ Power + Home key
erased to factory reset
wipe cache
rebooted
now its passing the samsung logo , annimation and then white Samsung Logo blinking with colors and after that again same battery showing
no custom rom installed on stock version i think its 4.2.2
Could be the battery.

Worth a try. My old note 1 used to operate normally but 1 morning it dead without any sign. Tried to power it on, just bootlooping. Though nowadays phone has far better battery quality but it doesn't means its' 100% perfect.

If you turn it off but with charger power on, is it got charged(based on the battery animation)?.
If it's charged you could try odin back the firmware but if battery is low, then don't as it could brick your phone if it dies during flashing.
Else try to clean the usb port and 3 pins at battery compartment.
Not sure whether this is hardware of software.
Even the switch could cause such problem.

its just showing Grey Battery sign and vibrates every 3 seconds if push power button for around 7-10 seconds than samsung screen appear but that it same grey battery over and over again
not sure whether now my previous battery is dead or not
since after installed replacement battery its giving the same issue
sent for repair at a local service center, since out of warranty/ insurance
they are saying its unrepairable
The usb module on the phone is defective. Replace it.
But the phone is in dead state if not plugged in as the battery is showing 55% when installed on another set
I guess you're having this

Some what the same issue, cell phone is showing dead symptoms when not plugged in, not activity what so ever is done to start
but when its plugged in its giving Grey Battery Sign and vibration every 3 seconds
when its power on it does pass the Samsung animation but after that OS is not loaded
www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5B2By7fGII
**Update
It's for sure Hardware Issue, checked with different hardware persons and they all agree that its power IC issue that is why its displaying this behaviour
Also tried to load KitKat from Odin but Samsung Galaxy Note 3 logo flashes every 2 second after downloading is complete.
Okay...Im trying to rescue my sister's data on her Note 3. We've replaced the phone but some important stuff remains on this one. Ive been messing with it for quite some time...replaced the charger port, power button and vibrator flex cable. No luck...except Ive noticed a couple of times after it has sat for a couple days if i plug it in it will display the battery with the charging volt and shortly after the red charging light will cime on. However, as soon as I touch the power button again (to try to boot it) the charging light gies out and im back to square one. Any ideas? Really need to get that data! Thanks in advance.

Dumb question...have you tried a different battery?
Sent from my Note 3 via Tapatalk
Yes..2 brand new ones
Let it sit overnight (or at least an hour or two) with the charging light on. Beyond that...I'm thinking you have a motherboard (or component on it) that's failed, thus kind of SOL on the data.

Well, After replacing my screen and battery recently, I noticed my Charge port started being wonky it refused to charge as AC only USB mode, Then my camera's started getting mixed up sometimes the front camera would just not work at all, As if it was unplugged from the board.. Now it vibrates and does absolutely nothing... If i plug it in it does nothing, If i take out the battery and plug in, it shows no battery on the screen, If i put in the battery it goes black and does nothing. Doesn't boot to download mode, Recovery, etc.. Any help is very very very appreciated.. Thanks..
Edit: After taking out my board and carefully scrubbing it with rubbing alcohol and a tooth brush, It seems fine now.. It boots and isn't currently having issues
