I only got the phone today but noticed there was a system update as soon as I got to the home screen after setting it up, now can't help but feel there's some jittery touch latency issues at random, hard to explain but depending on what your scrolling on sometimes screen lag, hardly noticeable I have a good eye for it, anyone else notice this ?

I tested out the HD2 outside in below freezing temps, and it really had a tough time registering my finger presses. It took about 5 minutes, before it could register properly... Anyone experience these issues?
Yes, and the wind keeps pressing things which makes it almost useless. I'm hoping some of the hints here on how to make it less sensitive will help but I haven't tried it yet.
I've noticed the "ghost" pressing (the screen registered a LOT of presses when my fingers were nowhere near the screen) of the screen too. I also contacted HTC support on the issue, and they said it was not a known problem.
So, again, I'd suggest that if you're experiencing issues with the screen in cold temperatures (finger touches not registering, "ghost pressing" etc.), let HTC know about it!
i got that kind of ghost typing too. pretty funny to watch but annoying when you see its deleting mails, answering sms or calls people ... will contact htc as well to let them know.
Confirmed here too. Though I thought it was caused by constant rain/snow here in Moscow, which fell directly on the screen when the ghost tapping occured.
Yeah I get the ghost tapping but only after i've been in a call and hang up, it then starts doing all sorts of things by itself normally ending up with dialling someone!! :/
I dunno about the ghost-typing but isn't it a common fact that capacitive screens don't work well with low temperatures?
That's a capacitive touch-panel "Feature" . HTC can't do anything about it (besides lowering the screen sensitivity).
edit: Umiss beat me to it lol
you can lower the screen sensitivity either by installing the new 1.48 rom or using the cab from the hints and tweaks thread in opening couple of posts. Should help.
I've had my elocity for a few months now and use it on a daily basis (with the dextor mod) and it's great except that lately I've noticed that the screen seems to be getting touchier. I mean, if I breath to hard it does false touches. Also, it just appears to do random touches sometimes (activated apps or bringing up menu in apps, etc..) ... it is getting to the point were it is starting to drive me a bit nuts. Anybody else experiencing this?
yeah, i've noticed excessive touch sensitivity at times, but its been off and on. i know having greasey/dirty/sweaty hands/screen causes lots of probs, so a clean screen is highly recommended.
i haven't put a screen protector on mine yet, but i suspect putting one on would give a slightly insulated layer to indirectly lower the touch sensitivity a bit. might be an idea.
Hi. I've recently noticed more screen jittering and periodic flickers when I'm scrolling. I tend to keep my thumb on the screen and slowly scroll when I'm reading. The problem isn't as bad if I just tap quickly to scroll, but if I do it slowly, text is shaky or almost shimmering.
Anybody else get this effect when scrolling? Opinions on whether this sounds hardware or software related?

Thanks.
depends if you are talking about the home screen or in applications...regardless it is a software issue.
You didn't mention if you have a microsd card installed and how full it is.
Secondly, this is known to happen immediately after reset, and is somewhat normal.
Background apps might also affect performance.
Lately my girlfriend has been having issues with her GS7 edge, she has the screen timeout for 1 minute yet the screen turns off randomly when she's scrolling or texting or just about anything.
Also when she has her phone face down laying on her she notices the screen flashes blue.
And just the lag on the phone, she tells me when she's messaging a lot her phone lags. When she unlocks her phone weather its using her fingerprint or the pattern to unlock it. So I suggested her waiting for a minute before she answers back and it does improve it but is that something she's going to have to do for now on or is there something to fix these things.... I know it's touch wiz and there is always lag when you are dealing with it but I don't really know since I've always used Nexus devices.
Sorry if this was discussed somewhere else, but I couldn't find it.
May be someone could confirm this:
When scrolling frequently one time after another moving your finger repeatedly up or down quickly for vertical scrolling in a long page in chrome for instance, it's very buggy for me.
It has some sort of delay. The screen doesn't react many times.
If the movements are slow and not so frequent, its almost OK. But if you do it quickly it is very bad.
I keep thinking if it is the original Samsung screen protector, I had pre-installed.
It's like that in all apps, I think (Samsung internet, PlayStore, chrome, Samsung store, etc).
Has anybody noticed the same and did removing the screen protector solve this? Or is it something else that anyone found?
Edit: By the way touch sensitivity under settings, screen is enabled.
So try turning off screen sensitivity, are you sure your palm isn't touching the sides also while scrolling?
