so my phone has been acting very strange lately. every once in a while when i turn the screen on i cannot unlock the phone.. it actually is unlocking but the screen in not registering.. i figured it had something to do with my cpu speed dropping too low or something but i was just playing with it and it actually works perfect if i slide the cover off the back just a tiny bit... if i take it all the way off it freezes the screen and if its all the way on it also freezes the screen....
anybody have this problem??

haha...might need to try that one...but its realy bad now i can barely use my phone...i can upgrade but id rather wait for the next best phone...

hello all yesterday my phone got crazy while i was watching youtube ,
when i wanna press something in screen then it goes to something else ,
and i restarted phone and i got stuck in SIM card locked , i cant press numbers to unlock SIM card when i wanna press 9 then goes to 7
if i press 3 then goes to 1 and like so , i restarted phone , did battery off for 10 minuts , flash phone all over , tried everything but calibration won't work
any help
try to do factory reset and reflash other rom,try to reflash kdz....

Hardware problem i think.
I think it get worst when it is Hot..
Isto have put mine charging and it started to do that, also the other time it ocour was in an Hot Day and it was in my pocket.

thats seems logic, i had this problem twice , both when i was watching youtube loong in phone ,
first time i got , i closed youtube and wifi ,
and second time , i ignored and keep watching youtube ,

When the screen gets hotter the platics becomes a bit soft, thats what may happens, maybe the digitilizer

I installed the apk and calibrate the screen.
NOTE: check always calibration!
I haven't tested it so much, but when I installed it was very hot the GT540, and I calibrate it, and it seem to work. But lets see with the time.
This with the same rom.

Well at least mine is working well now.
I also changed the rom to TX-MIUI v4 and it's working well.
I don't if it really was the apk or just luck, but it's working!
Am I the only one? Every Jelly Bean ROM has the same problem. Sometimes it freezes, and it won't do a thing, I can't even unlock it, it just sits there, black, I can only reboot it by pulling out the battery. It's so annoying. At least 4 times a day. How do I fix this? I tried PA, Stock JB, and now I'm on latest CM10 nightly, I wiped cache and dalvik every time before I flashed a new ROM.
I hope you can help me.
Even I have problem with JB , it hangs for 2 3 seconds n becomes normal. No need to pull the battery n all , it becomes normal by itself. Using stock 4.1

I had the same issue - except that I was in ICS stock...
got worse and worse in time - in the end I even couldn't use my keyboard anymore (whole lower part was unresponsive)
I testet it with some apps from the market which showed that the lower part of my screen didn't response to any inputs
solution was to take my nexus s to a repair center and they replaced the whole touch screen unit
Can you send me links of those apps? My touchscreen responds well but the problem is that the phone entirely hangs, and when I lock it, I can't unlock it anymore. It is I9023

I had mine do that on the stock ICS .. It would also shut off and wouldn't charge or anything.. Had to pull the battery.. Dunno what was causing it to lag and go bonkers like that.. I never had any 3rd party apps installed.

that's the way it started on my phone as well
- sometimes it did not respond to slide to unlock (OUPS may I say slide to unlock or am i getting sued by apple now)
- some characters on the keyboard did not work or it randomly selected any character
- whole lower part of keyboard didn't work
and so on...

Wipe data/factory reset before flashing a ROM. Stock launcher was also causing big freezes on early 4.1 builds. Have you tried with another launcher?

I think I fixed it. I deleted a MIUI folder on my SD card. Dunno what was it doing there, wipe didn't include it I guess. It took about 200mb of data from MIUI ICS to JB I had some time ago. It doesn't lag now.

Hope it works out for you .. I had to have my phone replaced something got spanked on my old one.. It was all stock..
happens to me countless times a day that im super annpyed by it to the point that i'm just used to it by now. whenever it happens though, i just shut my screen off, not look at it, wait 30~40 or so seconds til it gets back to normal
Most Jellybean ROMs run much better than any previous versions for me on my Nexus S 4G. I always wipe and format all relevant partitions. I also at one point wiped the internal/SD storage on my phone. I have seen a weird flicker then freeze happen on all JB Roms/kernels but only happens once a month if less. Currently running RASBEAN JELLY and Bedalus's Marimite 4.7 kernel. Maybe try different launchers? Also try running phone without doing Google Restore. Slowly add back apps to identify the prob. Don't get why so many are having these issues w JB

Mostly because they use ****ty thrown together kernels.
My phone never freezes, sometimes it gets stuck but just for a sec. Im totally stock!

Hello everyone. So far I'm loving everything about my Nexus 4. The thing is fast and beautiful, but I unfortunately I have a problem.
Every once in a while the LCD will stop working. I unlock it and it works, then maybe 5 hours later (after many unlocks and locks) I will unlock it and when the screen should come on my LCD slowly turns white, it looks like when you push on the screen, then it slowly spreads until the whole screen is white. I lock it then relock it and its back to normal.
Anyone else have this issue?

May be one of the apps you installed is trying to launch something upon unlocking. Do you have any er... shady looking apps installed?

Nope no shady apps. This doesn't seem like a software issue. I tried restoring many times, also the touch screen is still functional and I can still unlock the lock screen. I hear the click and I can launch apps (I placed YouTube on my home screen and just launched a video blindly)

I had that issue, but not anymore with the replacement that google sent me.
Although my screen issued has been fiex, my google wallet failed to work on the new phone.
So now, I am back to using the old phone with screen issue.

I have re-installed stock twice, and I have ALSO tried another rom (MiNCO) but no dice.
I heard turning off auto-brightness resolves it, I'll try that for now

I have never used auto brightness and it still happens. Problem is its hard to recreate so I hope LGE accepts it

Yea I contacted my phone provider (3 DK) and they said it is an issue that needs to be repaired, but my phone is older than 14 days so I can't have in switched to a new one, I Have to wait for it get get repaired >.<

Hey guys, i bought my nexus 4 a week ago and it is great but i'm having random issues with touchscreen. Suddenly the screen stop responding or it is just hard to press. Besides trying to unlock it at PIN, when i press on a number, another number gets pressed. This freaking me out and very annoying. This often happened on Android 4.3 but i didn't have much time to know if it is the same issue on 4.2.2 cuz i bought and update directly via Google stock image. I flashed it twice but no hope. Hope this is a software issue or an app causing it. Any ideas?

I've the same issue, but only when the phone is charging.
I've tried several chargers ( USB cable and A/C adapter ), but the issue still remain.
I will bring my N4 to lg support.

Same thing here; while I'm charging the phone, sometimes, touchscreen responsiveness is not good. Unplug the phone and I'm good to go.
Same! My got shipped from Ireland. I bought it 2 weeks ago.
if that happens while charging..its normal because the screen register your fingers heat as a touch. so while charging the phone is hotter than it usually is which makes the touch screen not as sensitive...if its not charging and still the sensitivity is low...the only explanation that comes to my mind is..your phone (screen) is hotter than usual maybe?? if not then its a problem with your device because my sensitivity increased after 4.3 update...

Since, I installed CyanogenMod and I never had any problem at all. I know it doesn't really solve the problem but if you are ok with unlocking your Nexus 4, this is a very great thing to do.

LOVE LOVE LOVE CM10. Had it on my old SGN. Will be looking to reinstall it on my N4 but want to see what Kit Kat looks like first.
