Huawei p8 lite Bootloop Fix - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

so i had a p8 lite wich i tried rooting and it got stuck in a bootloop.
this worked for me
WARNING: this does delete everything you have (actually that is already gone)
(read all the way before doing anything)
first i set up adb & fastboot on my pc
https://youtu.be/UN7XW4HnFT8
2nd i downloaded stock firmware from huawei site ( you can also get this from rootjunky)
3rd i used HuaweiUpdateExtractor to get the recovery boot system and cust out (out of UPDATE.APP the one from the firmware)
4th i booted my phone into fastboot (i connected my phone to my pc first because otherwise i couldnt get into fastboot mode)
5th u start the command prompt in the adb&fastboot folder and type these commands (if you dont have custom recovery or custom roms you can skip to 5(i think i didnt do those)) :
1 adb devices (if it doesnt find it wait some time or reconnect it it will pop up sometime)
2 fastboot erase cache
3 fastboot flash boot BOOT.img
4 fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.img
5 fastboot flash system SYSTEM.img
the system .img is too big so it will go in 6 parts and will often fail but just keep trying make sure to wait long enough because maybe it is still busy
6adb reboot
it should start up now.
these steps worked for me also when i did step 2 i could get into Erecovery wich i could before but now i could erase cache and something else and do a factory reset just press erase on everything then continu

P9 Lite bricked (L31)

Hi, my problem is with the L31,
I've trying to downgrade from Nougat to MM. I saw on the thread this steps and i followed:
"Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot flash system system.img
Fastboot flash cust cust.img (This one is in the second zip from badwolf nougat download)
Then I flashed badwolfs recovery b2 as that one lets me transfer files from pc to phone and followed instructions from htcmania from here".
The problem is that i didn't reach to downgrade and when i try to reinstall Nougat by TWRP i get this error messages:
" E: Unknow comand (errno) update_huawei-pkg_from_ota_zip: update package from zip failed"
"Updater process ended with error: 7
Error installing zip file '/external_sd/DLoad/Update.zip'
Updating partition details...
...done"
Now my phone stays freeze on the huawei logo and the flashtool doesn't even recognize my device.
Can someone help me with this matter, please?

I followed the steps that someone advice me. Like above.
"I had to first extract the nougat firmware with huawei firmare extractor and flash everything by fastboot
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot flash system system.img
Fastboot flash cust cust.img (This one is in the second zip from badwolf nougat download)
Booth files you can find it in this page.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/development/android-nougat-dev-build-huawei-t3488360/page33"
To flash img. i used the file that i attached.
Good luck
so now i restored twrp , i put the update app in sd card and it doesn't want to flash , i'm still trapped in bootloop but i have access to twrp now what to do now ?
I found the old twrp is okey for downgrade,
Just put b161 update.app into sdcard/dload and press volume down + power key.
but flash badwolf's twrp will get stuck in fastboot, though It's not really bricked.
hi, maybe you also have a solution for my problem.
i installed a wrong update via sd card (dload etc.), now my phone is just black no signal nothing. and it seems like a fastboot loop always when i plug into the pc im in fastboot without doing anything
when i try to unlock the bootloader i get "failed command not allowed")
and also when i try to flash the extracted files from update.zip i get the same error ("failed command not allowed")
by the way i didnt active usb debuggin or oem unlocking
please help thank you

If your phone is VNS-L31C432, then try these methods:
1. In bootloader "fastboot boot TWRP_Recovery.img"
this should boot you into twrp without flashing it, from there flash B161_update.zip (which should be in your SD card).
(If that doesn't work, try "fastboot -c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot TWRP_Recovery.img"
haven't tried this on P9 Lite, but used to work on other phones).
2. If "fastboot flash recovery TWRP_Recovery.img" returns errors, but says bootloader unlocked, try to relock the bootloader and unlock it again.
"fastboot oem lock"
"fastboot oem unlock YOUR_CODE"
then try flashing recovery again.
Maybe also try flashing other recoveries, e.g. TWRP (which is for MM ROMs) or Revolution (which is for N ROMs) or even the stock boot.img.
3. Try the dload method wth B161 and maybe B160 - I know my P9 Lite would only accept B161 via dload, even though B370 and B360 and B130 are for the same model, those builds just wouldn't install this way.
4. Unpack B161 zip so you have update.app, extract from that boot.img, recovery.img and system.img.
Then do:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
Some of these methods might work, some won't but from my two experiences of bricking the P9 Lite, one of the four fixed the issue.
If you don't know where to get the B161 zips, I can post them later.
Also, this is just to get your system to a working and bootable condition. If you want to get back to full-fledged MM, you will also need to install the hw_eu zip after the B161 zip (and maybe do a factory reset after that for the sake of it).
Your apps and files are already gone, so no way to save that. Hope your phone gets back to working order soon enough.

I think phone is on v13 right now and i cant find any solution to unlock bootloader. i think thats the problem. also tried this to unlock https://forum.xda-developers.com/ze.../talking-ze500kl-g-unlock-bootloader-t3352776 but as he also says in the threat i guess i can do it cuz it needs v12
also ive tried this raw write command with raw image " @Echo off FOR /F "delims=" %%i IN ('dir "%~dp0" /B ^| findstr /I "raw"') DO ( SET RAW=%%i ) fastboot flash all "%RAW%" fastboot -w fastboot format asdf fastboot format ADF fastboot oem adb_enable fastboot continue " its able to write everything inside the pack but at the end " resuming boot...

brickwd nova?

i did all ok for some weeks. But one day phone was discharged and after charge i got a black screen. Sometimes it flashes a bit depending on the boot and i can get some sound if i push volume down or up.
i tried fastboot or adb but no devices. (how can i force connection?). I went to the huawei shop they somehow restarted it and i could the the different booting option but they reboot it and they told me they couldn t do anything about because of the rom. I asked to redo what they have done and leave it to the reboot option so i could probably manage it from this point, but they told me it was not possible. So back home i tried everything but no success. How do i force the reboot from my computer with which softs?
tks
update
i do
adb devices
List of devices attached
GGXDU1721001169 recovery
if i do adb reboot-bootloader
i still have black screen
and fastboot devices gives
no permissions f astboot
how can i grant permission?
what command should i use? i tried a recovery but didn t work either think i t is an permission issue
tks
update
so i did
$ sudo fastboot devices
[sudo] password for xxxx:
GGXDU1721001169 fastboot
[email protected] ~ $ cd Downloads
[email protected] ~/Downloads $ sudo fastboot devices
GGXDU17210001169 fastboot
[email protected] ~/Downloads $ sudo fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
target reported max download size of 532676608 bytes
sending 'recovery' (34228 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.848s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.785s]
finished. total time
[email protected] ~/Downloads $ sudo fastboot reboot
rebooting...
finished. total time: 0.053s
and still black screen?????
is it hardware issue?
is it possible somehow to reinstall a rom but usting the computer?
yes you can like you have flashed recovery, do the same thing with boot.img and system.img
extract them with update extracter from the full rom
Same with my CAZ-AL10, I guess it's because of missing drivers(*.so)

good luck bro .
do you use image extractor? it seems it only use update image, or do you use another soft to extract it?
tks
Is there a way to wipe or reset TWRP from fast boot. i m also trying to see where the error comes from. how can i see the logs with my computer?

If you want to get rid of twrp then flash stock recovery.img in fastboot.

Try flashing stock ROM using fastboot
use Huawei update extractor select boot ,system, cust, recovery ,extract them and flash them with fastboot like this
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img etc....
just make sure that you place those img files in same folder as adb is.

Seems like your boot image is damaged but check this thread maybe it helps https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/help/stuck-rescue-mode-screen-please-help-t3244872
usually you should always get into fastboot mode. Turn off your phone, connect it to PC, press power and volume down, after screen turns on release the PowerButton and keep holding VolumeDown, until you are in fastboot mode. Then use fastboot to flash a new boot, recovery and system

I have a similar problem on my old P8 lite phone, but I can enter into fastboot mode. No idea how it turned out like this... I bought a P20 lite and stoped using P8 lite for several months. Some days ago, tried to use the phona and it was unresponsive. Wiped data and some more options, and the phone got stuck on rescue mode.
I've read this and other threads and tried to use fastboot to flash stock ROM again. I downloaded update file, extracted boot.img, system.img, cust.img and recovery.img but when I try, to start flashing boot.img I get:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot flash boot BOOT.IMG
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending 'boot' (22688 KB)...
OKAY ( 0.588s)
writing 'boot'...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.592s
When I enter fastboot & rescue mode I get the messagem "PHONE Locked" (green letters). What can I do to recover the phone?
TIA for your help.
