Roms and Battery life - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I've tried several time to flash a ROM on my att s7 edge on rooted nougat. Does anyone have a ROM for att? Or that works.
Also why are these 2 (android system and android OS) so damn high?

Sprint Variant Marshmallow ROM

Alright so i'm confused and reading around on here hasn't helped. I've flashed custom roms etc to previous phones no problem but with my S6 Edge+ i'm clueless now. I've got the G928P variant with G928PVPU1A0GD software version and i'd really like to get to marshmallow, i know there are still bugs etc i've read posts about battery drain and what not but doesn't really matter to me. I am rooted, have TWRP installed, but i'm just not sure what i need for 6.0.1. would anybody be willing to explain or point me the right way?
So far I have been unable to find any custom roms for g928p 6.x. There's little love for that model it looks like.

Install clean (non-carrier) rom on SGS5

Hello,
I want to install a clean (non-carrier) ROM on my girlfriend's SGS5 (SM-G900W8). This is a canadian Fido phone. The reason I want to install the clean ROM is that they removed some parts of the ROM to scam people. For example, they removed a Data Toggle from the Notification Panel. Also, I want this SGS5 to receive updates as soon as they are out, not when FIdo decides to update it.
So I searched on SamMobile and found that there are just other carriers firmwares and 2 uknowns.
So my questions are:
1. What should I do in order to get a clean SGS5 rom on SM-G900W8?
2. What are those unknowns?
3. Is the phone going to work properly on Fido if I install other / non-carrier firmware?
Sorry if these are some stupid question. I am a Nexus user and never had these issues before...
The W8 version will definitely work with any of the T-Mobile roms and most of the other roms. If you're looking for stock roms, all the canadian carrier firmwares are cross flashable, meaning you can flash the firmwares from Bell, Rogers, Telus, Wind, etc.

Thanks for a quick reply.
Would you recommend any specific firmware? Without any issues and with the least amount (or absence) of bloatware?
I recommend the pure note 5 rom available in the developement section. It's very fast, stable and awesome battery life (I get 5 hours of screen time). I suggest waiting a few days since V6.5 is coming out soon though.

Oh, I thought that It's only OK to install ROMs for SM-G900W8 only. Can you please explain what kind of ROMs I can install on her SGS5 (SM-G900W8)?
I checked the N5 Port - looks awesome. I think I will install that one.
You can install most roms that are developed for the snapdragon variant. I installed the rom on my T-mobile S5 (G900T) and it works flawlessly.

Do you believe everything you read here on XDA?
95% of all the users and developers here in this xda forum
have already updated the S7 and S7 Edge phones using
the latest Nougat 7 firmware version.
Good luck, have a great day!
I also have a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge duos (G935FD) and I did the update and my 3G/H/H+ data connection does not work when I have both SIM cards in the phone. I have to either use 2G or 4G/LTE for my data connection needs. 2G is too slow and 4G/LTE coverage is far and between in my area, I wish I could go back to Marshmallow.

You can go back to marshmallow firmware or roms.
If you are using the official stock nougat 7 firmware
you can simply go to http://www.sammobile.com and
download the latest Marshmallow 6.01 firmware and
flash it with odin in download mode.
If you are using a zip file custom nougat 7 rom you can
also go back to marshmallow 6.01 if you download and
twrp flash one of the marshmallow custom roms which
are available in this forum.
Good luck, have a great day!

ATT S7/Edge (SM-G93xA) Can Be Downgraded From Nougat To Marshmallow

Since I'm not allowed to post in Flashing/ROMS I'm posting this here.
There has been quite a bit of questioning if the ATT S7 Flat and Edge can be downgraded back to Marshmallow from Nougat, And i have tested with USA Unlocked firmware and I can say that it works perfectly.
It originally started with me having issues with battery life and performance on ATT firmware on Nougat so I flashed the USA Unlocked version of Nougat and performance wise it ran MUCH better, However the battery life still wasn't there.
So I did some research where people were on the fence, some said yes while some said no. So I took the chance and downloaded the 6.0.1 firmware for SM-G935U and flashed it onto my phone with PrinceComsy Odin and 5 Minutes later it booted up fine.
Service is just as good as it is on ATT Firmware without the bloat, better battery life (by far) and MUCH better performance.
If I could post up the links, I would but I'm not allowed because I don't have enough posts.
I'm actually really pleased to see that this is possible. I do hope to see some links in the near future!

AT&T Baseband / Modem

I have gone back to my Exynos S7 Edge from my Snap unrooted ATT Note 8 .......
I'm trying the newer Oreo ROMs but it would appear that the newly flashed later baseband modem files pretty much suck for reception on ATT. Any suggestions for the best current ATT baseband that will work with the newer ROMs like Oreo ?
Also after having been gone for almost a year from the forum any suggestions for the best ROM experience currently ??
Thanks
