Hello guys,
I don't know if that is the right place, but this is a really important information for us.
In help with @zacharias.maladroit we ported Energy Aware Scheduling (EAS) to our Xperia Z5 Premium
What is Energy Aware Scheduling?
Energy Aware Scheduling is a modified Linux Power Scheduler system for ARM CPUs, which promise less power consumption and cooler working
More you learn here:
https://www.linaro.org/blog/core-dump/energy-aware-scheduling-eas-project/
https://developer.arm.com/open-source/energy-aware-scheduling
https://www.linaro.org/blog/core-dump/energy-aware-scheduling-eas-progress-update/
The benefits I already see:
The CPU is really cooler (that what Snapdragon 810 needed)
The idle time has been increased ALOT (like 50% more idle time)
Also it seems battery life has been improved alot
The Port repo:
https://github.com/PDesire/XperiaSatsukiEliteKernel/commits/hotplug
Stay Tuned, this kernel will go online soon
Your PDesire
I am waiting for this cooler kernal...........thanks for doing this project for z5 premium....
great news !!! thank you !!!
Why just Z5P alone... Z5 too needs it!
Bigups
Did now some tests, well already half day used and 59% left. That's insane !!!
And my device even keeps cool either. Even the deep sleep is insane now
Will release kernel today. EAS should be stable enough now

That I think will be more section of @zacharias.maladroit because he owned that device. But well ofc I help him by implementing it either.
I just have a Z5P. that's why I just take look on Z5P at the moment to prevent bugs and so on
I can tell you: it's near.

My device forgot it's an S810 (you can expect heats like that, I should tell outside temperature in my room is high either so it's a good value)

Any chance the Z5 E66XX will have an EAS port?
PDesire, in your estimation how difficult would this be to Port to the z4? I'm currently self teaching on building ROMs and kernels and would love to attempt this with your permission. I see that there is a port for the z5 and due to them having the same SOC it shouldn't be too much work correct?

This is from all of the ICX team, one of our kings made a breaking discovery and ported over the DHD build perfectly working.
Now, we should be able to also run Sense roms too!
For all the people who cant contain themselves, you are free to scream here with delight

I don't know, WiFi is an easy fix, Bluetooth too.
I am so glad I was pushing people to port the DHD build.
Going to try some sense roms when ICX gets to a stable state.

been following your development thread with interest
it warms my heart to see you guys working together
the way that you unite to pursue a common goal
dont want to sound too cheesy
but it restores my faith in the human spirit
well done
keep up the good work
I have a question about that signature picture u all use, is it only for the devs or also for fans/users/supporters? I would like to use it too!!
OMG THIS All IS SUCH AN AMAZING CHRISTMAS GIFT!!!
Im going to make one for supporters or what ever. But feel free to use it if you want
How far from a fully working ALPHA / BETA do you think we are?
is the Kernel based on ICS or CM7?
Based on CM7 with VMSplit changed to 3g
I thought he used official 4.1.C.0.6 kernel with DooMLoRD patch?
Going to create repo for ICX kernel tomorrow
Sent from my Xperia Play
Don' think that worked? Do you want a nice boot logo?
Boot logo for kernel? Yes!
Make one then use zdihdzu's aCBIT in arc or x10 section to convert to rle.

Also, can't wait to see the look on my friends face with his desire s, me using sense and ics roms, him with his warranty intact, he thinks stock is good.

This is a huge milestone in Xperia play development, I think a lot more developers will become interested in the Xperia play now, You guys just brought the dev section back to life, 56 pages on your icx dev thread in just 1-2 days.

I think more devs will get involved because we have basically got a desire hd (Same specs, libs, board .etc)
Does it mean we also can get sense 3.0/3.5?
Well i saw a lot of people ask "With kernel is better?" questions a lot! So i decided to make this thread showing that they aren't different at all.

NobodyAtAll's version 11.________________________________________.Alfsamsungs version 8As you can see both of the kernels get the same score at the end. But with the NobodyAtAll's kernel you get noticeably better Database IO and better Sd card reads.
And with the Alfsamsungs you get better 2D graphics and 3D just by a little bit. Also on the Recovery side you get a Touch UI in the Alfs version 8 kernel.
So let's wrap this up, if your a Gamer and want the best performance on your phone i highly recommend the Alfs v8.

alfs kernel has gone offline
Sent from my X8 running nAa and D_d piece of art called MiniCM9.
you're lil test are not saying much since you're missing all specs
which rom ?
which clock speed? (cant see on the screen shots)
which cpu governor?
and how many test did you do? benchmarks result change quite often
Prime HD Alfs v8a/Naa 11 600Mhz (omdemand) Tested many many times and the 1728 was the max i was able to get on both kernels.
the test is not precise because you haven't turned off the sdcard r/w test and the result is varied in the tests
edit : it actually turned out that alfs v8 wins by 9 points
woo a whole 9points

I like Alfs because of the fps cap versions, those screen cuts are soo annoying.

If only people could stop seeing development as a war zone...
People are sharing their work, it is not a competition.
Some like one kernel better, some like another.
There is a place here for every legit development work, so stop trying to light fires.

Hello xda members i developed a simple app based on the idea of cpu spy and Cpu Spy reborn with some aded functionality to help you debug any of the problems on the device; )
The application does list you all the frequency states as similar in cpu spy but with a flat design and much pleasant to look than the first version.
It also gives you the possibility to see cpu temp battery temp and information such as charging current the actual voltage the battery has etc
PS: Hope you like it and please hit the thanks button
The App has been reworked with material design guidelines in mind, it has simpler code and it is faster than before.
My goal for this app is not to add features,This app Will stay simple as it is,with maybe a couple more details in the future updates
It works only on Lollipop
For KK and below keep the older version

@Mirko ddd for some parts of the code
@Brandon Valosek for the idea )

I tried that and it looks great but then i thought many people change their dpi so it gets you the same effect! If i lower it more,it will look bad on others devices. Anyway i will test it and see what i will do thnx
Congrats for this nice, beautiful and clean app :good:
Any plans for real time monitoring , without having to "refresh" ?
And, idk, but i believe we could stand a few more permissions in order to have such a beautiful widget :victory:

I bought a OnePlus One a few months ago and temporarily switched over from my Z2, and just ended up switching back to the Z2 a few days ago. Even though the OnePlus and Cyanogen are a great pairing, the camera quality on the OPO (even if it is using Sony camera hardware) isn't as good as the Z2, and it's faced with the same WiFi and buggy touchscreen issues and random reboots that a lot of Cyanogen builds have. I also have a Sony DSC-QX10 and a Moto 360, and it just never can maintain a strong connection with those devices and will sporadically drop/reconnect when using them. Also, the "Sandstone" backing on the OPO also starts to wear off after a while, and dust seems to build up in the weirdest places along the edges of the phone after being in your pocket for a bit.
It's a great phone for the price, nonetheless, but I just can't see fully replacing an Xperia with a OnePlus at this point...

I believe you are right...
I really thought to buy opo, not to abandon Xperias for good but to wait for Z4 on something different...
Even I was satisfied with Z2 fw...
But then Sony released 167 fw and all my doubts have gone...
You are the fifth one who said opo isn't that good as advertised and what bunch of users said when it was launched...
Tnx for all informations, this was very helpful ?
I flashed Android 5.0 today, in my Nexus 7 and, even it's not official, it's very, very good.
ART is interesting as well, just like whole dev tree...
I can't wait to see what will Sony do on 5.0 UI.
Another great option is to invert framework color, so you can have dark, or better to say black UI in a second, with a one pressed button...
Yes, this is kinda off topic but I just wanted to share few lines and didn't want to spam section with unnecessary thread...

HI folks .. as we all know today after 3 months of waiting .. Sony finally started rolling it's Nougat update to our lovely device XZ5 .. but unfortunately they didn't listen to us ! nearly there is nothing new .. and we didn't get the following :
- The new lock screen in X series
- The new themes
- Smart cleaner
- Manual controls in camera
- Hand shutter
- Battery care
And I need to mention that we still have this ugly black staues bar ! like in GB days -_-
so .. what I need from you guys right now is to support my thread on their official xperia forum so they maybe answer us !

Please support me by replying or by pressing that " kudos " button and maybe they will give us a good reason or a promise !

Same for me
Adding features from newer hardware makes new models seem less appealing compared to older models. That is not good business. What would you do?

True, if sony add functions, themes, and everything else from the X or the ZX, why the people would buy them?
The thread is locked already.

Well Sony was always doing this in the past.. And their good updates was a reason for people to buy their products..
I have also to say that all of their features are not exclusive.. In fact they are late in everything.. The manual controls in camera was supposed to be in Xperia Z5 as Samsung relased it in their S6 device.. Forget their thems but at least bring these main features! And what about this terrible black statues bar? Are we in JB days?!!!
