Hi, I just want to share my unbelievable experience when I decided to have my Nexus 6P battery replaced in the Philippines.
TL;DR
Huawei's battery quality sucks. Huawei provided "extended" warranty coverage without the knowledge of the customer. Had my phone's battery replaced for free.
The symptoms started around 6 months ago when I noticed that my phone turns itself off (puts itself suddenly into powersaving mode then puts up a "turning off" dialog") when it reaches 15%. As time passed by, the threshold increased to 20%, then to 25%, up to recently it was around 40%. I tried hard resetting or factory resetting, and even installing a custom ROM with a custom kernel (PureNexus + ElementalX) but still having the same problems. AccuBattery even stated that my battery capacity was at 50% of the design/normal capacity. This clearly states that the batteries by Huawei are of low quality.
So I called the Huawei service center found on the 3rd floor of Gateway Mall in Cubao. They told me that out of warranty, the battery replacement will cost around 1600 PHP since replacing the battery will damage the visor and the metal strip at the bottom so they need to replace that too. When I went there, they checked the IMEI to verify the warranty status and lo and behold, it is still under warranty! As far as I know, I bought the phone at around Jan-Feb of 2016 but they said that the warranty is still up to Sept 2017. Then again they said the warranty is void if I rooted the phone but I think they didn't check that properly but I was on MagiskSU so the root was hidden. In the end, I didn't have to pay for anything but I waited for around an hour for it to be fixed.
Tips:
- tell them explicitly to NOT reset your phone's data
- call them beforehand to reserve the battery since the stocks are limited (02 912-0468)
Goodluck with your Nexus 6Ps!
I would like to replace my 6p battery soon too even though there isn't any resets on my end but I do know that my battery is degrading (almost 2 years and still kicking ass) but its good to know that Huawei replaces the battery with just Php1600 this is very informative thank you!
Do u you how much I have to pay for the bettery replacement in Taiwan? Huawei charges 6000 Ntd for that.
It is a robbery.

HI OP. Thanks for sharing. I also went there recently. Basically, the technician in charge of replacing the battery "accidentally" destroyed the board for some reason while fixing it and they ended up giving me a new phone. Before I handed them my old 6P, I did a factory reset even though it was rooted but they didn't even check for it (which is a good thing).
My concern now is praying that the new phone battery lasts around a year and a half before dying so I wouldn't need to buy a new phone this year.
Edit: It was also a pain in the arse calling them for updates.

Hello everyone, My Note3 (SM900) is acting strangely battery-wise. It has been rooted for over a year and using custom recovery. On the last weekend I did an upgrade to Android L but the issue remains same.
After charging to %100 everything is OK until the battery hits around %70. After that point, while using phone (call or usage) signal meter shows that zero like image(no signal), phone gets freezed for a second or less, shows critical battery warning for just a moment and then it reboots. When it boots up, it says battery is at %0 or %1 and if I leave the phone alone, battery percentage starts to rise up to about where it was reset. By the way, if I try to use the phone after reboot, sometimes it just powers off just like when it does while empty battery.
I tried to reset battery stats according to a xda post but it didn't solved my issue, so I have reinstalled Android L. Issue still remains. I would buy a new battery or send the device to warranty but first I want to make sure it is related to hardware. Also I am not sure if Samsung will say device is unlocked so its out of warranty.
Any help is appriciated.
Flash another rom
That's a dead battery.
If a device shuts down at a decent percentage and then shows low percentage when it turns back on, it's time for a new battery.
Depending on where you're from you probably don't have a warranty on the battery anymore anyway, (It's mostly 6 months or a year), and it's easier and a whole lot cheaper to order a fresh battery than send your phone in for 2 weeks and deal with Samsung's KNOX policy and the mandatory research costs of around 70 quid. A new battery is about 25 quid.

If you don't mind the size increase (It about doubles the thickness), the ZeroLemon 10.000mAh is the ultimate way to go. That'll last you a week with intensive use. Thread with links here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2781990
If that's a bit too thick, your best bet is to nose through the Accessories board, there's quite a lot of options (And sadly I don't know them...). http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/accessories
Hello everyone, My name is Allan. i own a moto g4 plus. I have experiencing drastic battery drain for the past 1 week. Its just takes 4-5 hours for the battery to drain from 100 to 10% . The phone was bought from Saudi Arabia, i study in India now. So the service centres refuse to accept my phone. They say its against they policy and stuff and does not have international warranty. I made it a point that im ready to pay, but still they refuse. Im in such a desperate situation that i cant send it back to Saudi as i have no one there to take it to the service centres. I have tried these
1. Turning off all data
2. Rebooting into safe mode
3. Factory reset ( thrice )
But the same situation continues.
Can anyone help ?

Looking at your battery usage, what is actually using power besides Android System which I'd guess is the biggest. Do you have your display turned down to a reasonable level, that will also take a lot of battery.

There's nothing else.... just the system running, brightness is at the lowest. Would it be a manufacturing defect of the battery ?
Did you updated the system firmware recently?
Same issue
I have been having a similar issue, my battery will get down to 50% and then just start randomly shutting off . Sometimes when I turn the phone back on it will display incorrect battery statistics before shutting off again shortly thereafter. Launching applications like Maps and Snapchat kill the phone almost instantly when the battery reaches below that 50% mark. I went through the repair service and sent my phone in for repair and got it back with the same issue ; all they did was swap the battery. I ended up calling Motorola and they're going to send me a brand new device since "repair" failed. In my opinion this is likely a manufacturing defect.
I bought my nexus 6p a few months ago second hand from swappa.com. I like others have experienced the early shutdown problem and at first i let it go however it continued to get worse and the battery would barely last my one hour ride to work. I decided to contact google just to see what would happen. I was sure my phone was out of warrantee which the tech support rep confirmed. I told her my situation and to my surprise she said that since this is a known problem, as a one time courtesy they will take back my phone and send me a refurb. Just wanted to share my story in case anyone else here is having a difficult time with this. I cant say yet whether or not i still have the problem but will report back after a few day sif anyone is interested. i'm sure the battery life will be better though.
edit: i even explained that i bought it second hand from sappa.com and thats why i am not the owner in their system. It seems the phone just needed to be originally purchased from them instead of a third party like a phone company.

Let us know how it all works out, how long it takes to get the refurbished one which I've heard can be a different color if that matters to you but should be the same capacity. Did they ask for a credit card in case they don't get the return unit?
I think I'd personally rather just change the battery first ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72934124&postcount=25 ) to see if it solves the problem without losing my 1.5 yr+ whole setup-dealing with restoring files that I did however backup but it's good to know Google has offered this one time courtesy since it's a real issue that a Google store device shouldn't have. My fingerprint sensor on my stock Nexus 6P is getting annoying slow too often ( for some it's stopped working entirely https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/nexus/vLbK8_TF7vE/27XCSnZvBQAJ ) so maybe I'll contact Google to see what they say - https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/7109524?hl=en&ref_topic=7084203.
I just installed the latest July 5 security patch update (this Build N2G48B of 7.1.2 took a long time to boot & still finishing update) which seems to have helped my fingerprint sensor speed so far but more time will tell..
to answer your questions, i ordered it the sunday before independence day and recieved it thurs. they used fedex 2 day shipping.phone is the same color and capacity. they put a hold on my credit card for almost 800 until they recieve the old phone back. battery life is substantially improved. I am so used to plugging the phone in every chance i get that i have not had a chance to see if it actually goes to 0% yet but i did get it down to about 15. ill post back in a few days to let you guys know if i still have the early shutdown with this refurbished phone
I did the same exact thing on Sunday, I got my phone on Swappa with Nexus protect that was transferred to me. The battery issue has become a serious issue sometimes dying at 50% so on Sunday google changed original owner in "google tools" to me so it appears as if I bought it from them and also issued me an out of warranty RMA. I placed the order yesterday once I got the funds for the hold ($588 for 64gb 6P) and the phone shipped today.

Thanks for starting this thread, did they send you a prepaid postage to return your device with your refurbished replacement?
Could you-everyone install AccuBattery as described in thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72934124&postcount=25 & tell us the battery health (mine is just 41-42% estimated capacity after >19 mo) of your refurbished replacement.. I would be very surprised if you still have an early shutdown problem with a healthy battery. The latest update seems to have improved my fingerprint sensor speed but still sluggish at times (yet still faster than entering the PIN).
Mine is a 64GB Silver Aluminium which is probably the most produced one so would likely get the same one in return but for others I've still heard you could get a different color like this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fCDOfljoQY
If I had more recently got the phone I'd be more psyched to contact Google first but after >19 months of data on it setup the way I like it I'm still leaning toward just replacing the battery by Monday with only an 1hr of downtime & monitor with AccuBattery but the more options to solve the issue the better.
They email you pre paid postage to print out and use and you can use the same box. Accubattery shows 87% health based on 2 sessions with 130% charged and 3908 mA

Good to know, hopefully you won't get anymore early shutdowns (for at least the next 12+ months anyway when its battery degrades & you've moved on to another device. Maybe the 87% will also go up some with more sessions data but it should be far better than the original battery.
I had an uninitiated reboot today at 100% because I had my N6P plugged into an external battery since I didn't want a potential shutdown while using voice navigation (among other apps) but at least it could reboot without further incident. I still think that could have been the degraded battery issue that can not keep up with the power demands of so many apps (even if plugged into a portable external charger-some apps which I closed after the uninitiated reboot).
Hopefully no one will be reporting early shutdowns & less uninitiated reboots after healthier batteries..
I've noticed that my phone now dies at 15-14% and when I turn it back on it turns it's self back off again as if the battery is completely dead, when I tried to boot into TWRP I found that it's reading the battery at 2% but I'm not sure if that's accurate or not.
Question is would a battery re-calibration fix this problem? If not what should I do?
Regarding the battery re-calibration what tool/method is best?
Well all this stuff about battery calibration is placebo and you will find that on many places. This is problem with Nexus 6P users. Even I'm also having same issue, shutting down exactly at 5%, I did try battery calibration tool but nothing worked. All these tools do is removing batterystats.bin ( or something similar) from the system and then say that battery is calibrated. This is just bull#*@$. You need to replace you battery and that also from the OEM, because in the market there are many fake available that don't work 100% with the device especially the temperature sensor, which is must required in case of quick charge.

If you purchased your phone from Google, you can try and get a replacement. I am having same battery issues. Even though my warranty ran out in 12/16, I figured I would try Google and see what they offer. Good thing I did, I am getting a free replacement.
What did you ask them?

What did you say to them to get them to replace your phone outside its warranty?
How long has your warranty been expired?
And how did you contact them?

I used Google Play website to ask for a call back about my issue. When they called I explained that my phone was not holding a charge, that once it got under 50% the phone would just drain and shut off. The tech on the phone said he was going to speak to a supervisor and would call back. About two hours after that, he called back and said even though my phone was > 6 months out of warranty, they were going to replace it free (Warranty ran out in December 2016, I called in August 2017.)
S7 edge exynos bought in Norway close to release.
So I finally got to replace my battery after using it for about half a year with minor swelling. Accubattery reported it at 64%health with about 2200mAh capacity (design capacity is 3600).
After about 10 charges with the new battery and some "manual benchmarks" (you deplete it totally and charge it to 100 and some additional minutes to see how much goes into the battery) I still only got about 2400mAh so I went back and got them to switch the battery again (not official Samsung service center, but it's original OEM parts).
New one (2nd replacement) seems to also max out at 2400 after a couple of charges (and yes I've tried resetting phone and wiping cache partition). When I go into the testing section in the samsung members app it goes through my phone looking for problems and it states that the battery health is bad and should be taken to a service center for replacement, but this battery is totally new.
Atm, I'm trying the re-calibration method of depleting it totally, on and off on and off, then to 100% and down again and up, but I doubt it will work.
I've also put in an order for the galaxy A70 which I get for basically nothing (1700NOK - 191$, normally costs 4700NOK - 530$). Unless the replacement battery sorts itself out I'm gonna have to admit defeat and switch from my dream phone.
My theory is that either my mobo has some weird ass issue or there's some systemcarememory that hasn't reset and it treats the new battery like the old not letting it charge as much as it can as a safety. Tried contacting samsung support, but no reply.
Any help/advice is welcomed with open arms. Also if anyone have thoughts on the S7edge to A70 switch I'd love to hear em
The only solution is if you are on Oreo you should downgrade to Nougat and then reflash Oreo and if you are on Oreo and have a binary say u4 and you could not find binary u4 Nougat then I'm afraid no solution. No custom Nougat won't do the trick.
