The firmware are available for two regions: UK (BTU) and the Czech Republic (O2C). You can download these Nougat-based firmware files and flash your compatible Galaxy S7 models manually (you should also be able to update your device through Samsung Smart Switch on your PC). Galaxy S7 edge firmware shouldn’t be far behind, and we will be sure to let you know once those show up in our database.

Right .. I've been reading and researching this .. but can't find a definitive answer. Perhaps one of you gurus can assist. According to Phone INFO I have the following setup:
Bootloader/PDA/Baeband Version: G935FXXU1DPLT
CSC Version: G935FOXA1DPLT
When I try to use/install the Galaxy Gear VR, I keep getting "network error". From my research, this is linked to the CSC. Question is, how do I restore it to base CSC - without rooting?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers.

The other thread was created when the full firmware was not available yet, the workaround was to flash mm btu then update to nougat. These are the nougat firmwares as they are now available, not the mm ones. so you just have to flash them and you'll have nougat on your phone.

I haven't flashed a different CSC cause I don't want to lose features such as the Mobile data toggle, currently on the Arab firmware since my phone is a Duos, anyone know if BTU has the Mobile data toggle even on 7.0?

I have a Samsung Galaxy A9 Star (SM-G8850) purchased on the Chinese market. Once updated to the latest firmware I get:
AP: G8850ZCU3ASA1
CP: G8850ZCU3ASA1
CSC: G8850CHC3ASA1
Model: SM-G8850/DS
The firmware comes with all the usual Chinese crapware and I would like to switch it to the Hong Kong (TGY) firmware in order to access Google Play Services and use it outside China. I have found the official pages detailing the firmware versions (CHC for China, TGY for HK) and the appropriate page on SamMobile with instructions for uploading a new firmware using Odin.
Is this process safe and/or reversible? Do I need to root or install TWRP recovery first? Are the China/HK versions of the phone hardware-identical? Is there a guide for this for a similar phone that I could attempt to follow, is there anything else I need to consider relating to partition size? Is there a different way to install GApps and Google Play Services on a Chinese market phone? Has anyone tried this before?
Thanks for any help!
Update on progress. Unfortunately this is currently not possible for me since I updated the Chinese firmware from bootloader U1 to U3, and the latest version of the TGY firmware still uses U2. I think it would be necessary to root the phone to downgrade, which would trigger Knox.
CSC CHC: G8850ZCU3ASA1
CSC TGY: G8850ZHU2ASA1
Attempting to flash the old version results in "SW REV CHECK FAIL [abl]Fused 3 > Binary 2"
For anyone who has not yet updated, if flashing directly with the same bootloader level doesn't work, this guide seems likely to work:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/guide-changing-csc-s8-s8-root-t3799045
Using combination files available here:
https://combinationfirmware.com/combination-samsung-galaxy-a9-star
Would appreciate reports from anyone trying this. I will be waiting for a TGY build using U3.
Another update. TGY Build G8850ZHU3BSEB was released, with U3 bootloader and Android 9. Using this firmware, it is possible to change the phone from the Chinese CHC firmware to Hong Kong TGY firmware. The phone changes its model number from Galaxy A9 Star to Galaxy A8 Star. Simply download Odin 3.13.3 and the firmware from https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-a8-star/firmware/SM-G8850/ and flash.
I have successfully found the firmware and update it to the newest version.
Any idea where I can download this firmware. This firmware has version number PDA G935UUESACSI1 and CSC G935UOYMACSI.
Tried on other website but ends up always in error.
I wanted to make sure I can create a back up before I can root it.
Hi everyone,
my wife had an S8 + EXYNOS which had its motherboard dead, it was on android 9.0. A phone repair center replaced the motherboard but they had only SNAPDRAGON and everything works fine.
The thing is, that earlier the model number was SM-G955F and now it is SM-G955U and it says now Verizon but it is on android 7.0 and says that there is no update. I want to download the latest 9.0 firmware but I am now confused.
If I search on sammobile for G955U I get only branded firmwares. I see that the unbranded are 955U1.
Now my question is, because I never flashed US models only Europe, should I just flash the latest Verzion FW or can I flash the latest U1?
This is the latest Verizon, I do not want to soft-brick now the phone....
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/g...e/SM-G955U/VZW/download/G955USQS6DSI4/293814/
If I can use the unlocked firmware, could you please tell me which exactly it is so I do not make a mistake?
EDIT: Followed this easy flash tutorial with modded ODIN and flashed directly U1 unbranded XAA FW which works like a charm

I just fixed up a Galaxy S8 and want to flash it stock. I am trying to flash the U1 firmware but it just ends up failing. I apparently need to flash something called a combination firmware first? Can someone please provide me some info?
