Wiki:All problems solved ?! chaos42

Hello to everybody...
Member "Chaos42" has updated Wiki , he said that all problems with Tytn has been solved :

He wrote that devices with Serial HT633 has got not problems.
Would you please "Chaos42" tell Us why you think so ? Have you tested a Tytn with this serial ? For how many days ?
As i read here :

seems that Tytn(s) with serial beginning with HT634 (that is greater that HT633) are not bug free..Language is Chinese, you can translate it with "Google's tools for languages".
Guys , i'm disoriented...Let's start talking about this news.

Hello everybody,
is recieved my replacement unit five days ago. It is an TytN HT633xxx, ROMVers: 1.18.257.2 (07/22/06), Radio: 1.03.03.10, Protocol: 32.34.7010.01H, EXTROMVer: 1.18.257.105
and i have to say this device feels diferent/better then my old HT628 TyTN. The Keyboard feels more solid, the screenaligment problem has not occured once since i am using my device, and the most obvious thing was that the new battery was not fully coverd with a white plastic, but had a metalplate on the bottom instead. Alle buttons work as expected (also on the keyboard), the device is not getting hot when using wlan and the battery seems to last longer. So i am pretty happy with my new TyTn.
If there is anything you want to know or want me to check, feel free to ask

Thank you chaos42 for your reply... :wink: I was a little "suspicious" in my post because i've seen your Wiki's upgrade but i've not seen any your post in this forum before about Tytn and you registered your account only yesterday...So i thougt that this was a new Htc's commercial strategy to sell Tytn that seems to have,at the moment,many bugs.
What can you say us about :
1. During battery charge Tytn getting hot ?
2. This HT633 Tytn is in your hands since ?
3. Wi-fi range is good or poor ?
4. Screen switch from portrait to landscape when Tytn is in his guard or when keyboard is "opened" ?
5. The guard is like the previous or is a new one without magnet ? (The magnet seems to cause alignment and orientation issue to the display)
6. Any freeze problem ?
At the moment you and "randomelements" owns the most recent devices...let us to stay tuned on your tests...Thanks in advance.

I dont work for HTC nor i am in any way related to HTC
For the last ten years i was a heavy and loyal palmuser so, i stayed away from ppc-forums :roll:
the tytn is my first ppc device...
1: This was my problem with my old HT628 especialy when charging and using wlan at the same time. This problem is completly gone. This is maybe related to the new design of the battery, with the metalplate on the bottom. And for me the battery lasts now about 30% longer.
2: five days, playing a lot with it
3: its slightly better, but i only tested it at home, so i have to do some more tests
4: the screen still keeps switching when i take it out of the case, because of the magnets in that damm case. When using the keyboard the screen switches as expected, no more freezeing during screenswitch
5: still the one with magnets
6: no freezing until now, no need for a softreset since i got it

Yes, the friendly support told me that during the first 4 weeks they replace it for free. I just called them to ask if its normal that the device gets pretty hot during charging especialy when using wlan at the same time. She said, she has to ask, but after mentioning my screen alignment problems she said i will get a replacement unit, and i should send it in as soon as possible because its a know hardware issue.
I also called the repairecenter in germany, just because i wanted to know how long it will take, and after i said that i got the screen aligment issue, they laughed and told me i will get a replayment unit for sure. four days later i had my new tytn. thumps up for the htc support!

4. Screen switch from portrait to landscape when Tytn is in his guard or when keyboard is "opened" ? >>> YES, like the Qtek 9100, because de magnet (if you put the magnet near the camera buttón screen change, there is a magnetic swith inside)
5. The guard is like the previous or is a new one without magnet ? (The magnet seems to cause alignment and orientation issue to the display) >>> The guard is like the Qtek 9100's, 4 magnets, but leather.
6. Any freeze problem ? >>> NO

I called the servicedesk today and the lady told me different.
They have been waiting for an answer from HTC. And got it yesterday.
HTC mailed them how to repair the Tytn (replace parts) and they are not allowed to replace the Tytn's.
So, new policies??
Well, wil wait and see which phone I get back.

So MacPac you think the magnets in the case are causing the screen alignment issue? Because any magnet powerful enough to effect a switch inside the device cant be having good effects on the screen alignment, is that a logical notion?

Just updated the wiki to include HT634 (HERM300). only issue I've noticed is that some of the keys aren't as responsive as the others. Does anybody else have this version and experiencing similar issues or do I have a duff unit?

Universal Parts for sale

Hello guys I have a couple of Universal parts for sale, all black Exec version
2 1.3 cameras
1 VGA camera
2 Main Speaker
1 LED flash light
1 Motherboard (It HAD usb port broken but Ive fixed it and tested it and its stronger than new -thicker mount solders)
1 Full EXEC Black Housing
1 Keyboard
Handset Speaker etc mic
1 Vibrator for ringtone
I would like to sell as much as possible together. You could put these parts together to make a good one but you would not have the little magnet to go from landscape to portrait.
These are parts from two universals that I took to make one good one but since I already have two more I have lost interest oh and most importantly I lost the bolts to put it back together :-( LOL (My wife decided that the cup they were in was trash! :-O

Manufacture defect or what !!!!!!

i am Mohammed from Egypt it's first time to use HTC TYTN 2 and it's wonderful device ... i have a question about something .. i bought my tytn2 5 days ago and when i looked into the usb slot there was this thin gray plastic that has the copper pins in it .. i noticed a small crack in the last right quarter of this gray plastic which make this gray plastic not completely horizontal it's bent down at last two pins from the right .. lol i know it little weird but i want to make sure that this is not manufacture defect .. and if it was i would replace it

Welcome to XDA-DEV's and to the Kaiser (=TyTN II) world !!
I'm sad to tell you I think this gray piece MUST be horizontal and rectangular.
There's a possibility that somebody put the stylus in the USB connection hole instead of the Soft-Reset hole (near to it).
** Possibly your USB connection does not work properly ** so that, if you have the chance, ask for another device or to repair this one.
Have good luck, and don't stop visiting and collaborating with Xda-dev's !!

thanks m8 i told that to HTC supprot here in egypt but they told me that if the charge is working well and sync too so it's ok and if something happen i would go to them and they will change the usb slot ... so what do u think shall stay with this device or make a problem to change it even if it works in charging and sync very well !!!!

A suggestion from my experience: take a copy of all your communications with technical service, etc. so that if you have problems, you'll be able to ask again without loosing warranty.
If you have the chance to have a new device, I think it's better - maybe you can sync or charge "today" but not "tomorrow", or you can't use another cable or headphones.
Even, if you want to sell your device, it looses value with the broken piece.

Microphone problem

Helllo guys...i have more problem with my Pro 3 like CDLA only after restart ... quick charge problem...and so..
but now i have problem with main mic... i must "lick" my phone when i want to somebody on next side listen me..very very low ... when i test sound recorder and this use camera mic ist always ok...
I think that problem ist maybe some setting or soft becouse when I call with somebody i listen me from my speker..and second side listen me only when i kiss my phone and shouting....i tryed flash new rom...6,0..7,1 but problem is always...

I found only Enginee mode and there is Mic settings..some value..but this ist possible only for MTK... and for snapdragon nothing?

Had the same on my Le Pro 3 after a dive in my swimming pool
I solved this problem by changing the whole board module, it contains the 2 mics (multimedia+phone) + charging port.
If you want to do it, you certainly have to buy a new screen also and have desoldering 2 wires from the speaker and resoldering back on the new board.
Here is the board I bought:

You'll find a lot of different displays at different prices too.

Hi,
Sorry for your phone, it's hard to say it's related to the mic board because it's working after the reboot... but maybe it's a question of temperature... for the money that this board costs, you can give a try.
Now, why the screen? because I'm quite sure that when you will remove your screen, you'll damage it. Or I'm really bad for that I opened it two times and broke it two times :laugh: I also bought a B7000 special glue.
I hope you'll find a fully working phone soon.

You are right, the only way to successfully remove the screen is carefully with a Heat gun. But long enough that the screen will fall off, when you tilt it to the side. The heat shield will also have residual glue.
