I have a Xoom and have been using it since it came out. Got my wife the Galaxy 10.1 and there are several keyboard issues.
1. we switch to the Android keyboard as the spell/suggestion actually works. The Samsung text correction never activates for some reason.
2. when docking to the samsung keyboard dock (which is slick, we wanted it vs. a flimsy triangle tent on your lap and bluetooth keyboard) but it does not "take over" as the default keyboard, like my Xoom does. The virtual keyboard still pops up everytime you enter a text field.
Q1: Is there any way to remove the Samsung keypad?
Q2: How can you (if at all) allow the keyboard dock to take over as the default keyboard when docked?
Any of these issues with anyone else. Thanks.

SwiftKey keyboard beta has number row free if you want to Google it
the problem is pen function guys :\
Jay, i mustve misscrolled when i quoted you, i was trying to reply to the OP. I;ve used to beta test SwiftKey and really loved it, but weirdly i dont feel comfortable at it on the Note 3.
@OP, even though i use the pen lightly, with the Google Keyboard, before you activate it (text input), hovering above the text box with the pen opens the small button pen input. No idea if that is Google or Samsung (TW), dont know if the Pen Input is recognizable as a keyboard. Soft Keyboard wise, the Google one feels very good.

[Theme][Mod][App]Themed Samsung Keyboards for the Samsung Note 3
Sent from my SGH-T889 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you guys still wanna use the s pen with any non samsung keyboard I'd highly suggest you download the Spen board switcher...search google or xda and you'll find it...what It does is allows you to choose any keyboard for the keypad the as soon as you pull the s pen out, it switches to Samsung keyboard s pen pad. I personally love the note 3 keyboard, as I am super fast and accurate on it, but i use my script stylus vs stock pen pad, as my script is the base apk that samsung use for their keyboard handwriting recognition and I feel the stylus beta is much better than Samsungs version. Anyway the board switcher allows you to use whatever keyboard you want and not lose s pen.

I use TouchpalX keyboard with "Direct pen input" enabled in S-pen settings, try that, it brings the spen input over any keyboard.
Perfect Keyboard very smooth. try it
Hi all,
do you use the mouse pad f.e. in Chrome browser (other apps as well)? My is working so bad.
Most time its scrolling the page, but I dont want to scroll. And I dont know why its scrolling because I didnt make a double tap or something else.
How do you use it? Is it working fine?
If your page is scrolling, you probably hit the spacebar. It takes getting used too, but it is definitely serviceable.

Ok, what is the right way to scroll? For example how do you scroll down and up in Chrome with mousepad?
You can't. I use the touchscreen or the arrow keys.
Space bar acts same as the dedicated "page down" key. "Page up" key takes you in the other direction. For fine granular line by line scrolling, use the dedicated cursor arrow keys. My Logitech Bluetooth mouse scroll wheel does proportional up and down scrolling.
I wish the onboard touchpad was multitouch and could do scrolling nicely, but it does not at the moment. Fingers crossed it's software fixable.
I use the arrow keys for keyboard scrolling. You might need to install chrome beta instead of the normal version.
I think the hardware supports multi touch, but it might be software related.
If you two finger hold in apps that support it, it does a right click. So it supports multitouch for sure. Major oversight not to have two finger scrolling, but I suspect it will come in time. My understanding is the windows version has it already.

Hi, what Android apps support that? I want to try it. Thanks!
I noticed it in crossover on the yoga book, but I feel like I've used it in other apps previously on other Android devices.
Just now played with the Windows 10 version of the Yoga Book and it's touchpad supports 2 finger scrolling in Windows explorer for sure.

Yes, with the Windows Book you can use scrolling with two fingers. But with Android its not possible

Such a pity as I know RemixOS flavor of Android supports touchpad 2 finger scroll and pinch to zoom.
Its worth noting too that if you activate the drawing pad you can use the pen to make the drawing pad a giant touch pad.
That's true, and it allows you to "hover" over menus in chrome. Identically to the S-pen on various Samsung Note devices. Makes me wonder why the mouse doesn't support it.
I don't know if I'm the only one to forget, but you can adjust the mouse pointer speed in settings under language and input.
Unlike the Android version at the moment, I found the Win10 Yoga book touchpad implementation also does pinch to zoom. No surprise if all Win 10 modern touchpad multi gestures are there too. I don't expect many people care so much about the omission from Android outside of us Android Yoga Book users.
Thought I'd let you guys know that someone posted a program some guy made to make some minor modifications to the touch-pad (only in Windows 10 though.. ) if you don't like how it feels/works. I also put it in my Megathread.
2 finger scroll works in the latest update!
With the last update to version 170519 the mousepad works mostly perfect.
old thread to me, but if you haven'tchunked it out the window, i found the expalanation - it is designed by lenovo not to work when typing- until you tap the white circle/dot in the middle. once i got that into my brain, it completely removed that aggravation of why it seemingly randomly got stuck.
Hey everybody!!
I have noticed a feature that works but nobody seems to know about it or is using it in development.
That feature is touchscreen hover (similar to the SGS5 touch hover feature).
There are plenty of ways that this could be used in Roms and Apps. However, I haven't seen it used, yet.
I confirmed that this feature works by using Chrome and navigating to: https://clickclickclick.click/
Just touch the button and then hover your finger over the button and it registers the hover!!
Confirmed on H812, leave your model number and whether this works for you!!
It worked for me using Chrome and Puffin Pro browsers. Hover your finger above the "Button"..
ANYBODY??!!
I recently installed LineageOS onto a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. Things function pretty well so far with one glaring exception: the default keyboard is incredibly inconsistent. (Third-party keyboard apps don't fix this issue either.)
What do I mean by this? When I select a text box, the keyboard is meant to pop up and allow me to tap letters with my stylus. This works fine with most software (Iceraven websites, F-Droid's search function, etc.) but doesn't work with other things (Discord app, the Accounts tab, etc.) and I really don't understand what the difference between the text boxes is.
