I have a problem when turning up the backlight of my D802.
it turns up until i reach approx. 40% and after that, the brightness doesn't increase
I am using manual backlight settings, and have tried updating the radio - as one guy recommended under this Youtube video. Nothing had any effect.
Another issue is that under software information it shows that I have 0gb memory (instead of the 32gb i should have....)
What is going on?
I am using KitKat 4.4.2
Version number: KOT49I.D80220d.bruce2728 (Do I need another?)

I have XT1687 model with 4GB RAM and 64GB memory. Sometime I can see display flickering slightly. But when I lock my device and unlock again, flickering stop. I could not figure out the steps to reproduce this issue. Has anybody got similar issue or I am the only one here? Any fix available for this issue?
I have had the same issue on a XT1681 with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of Internal Storage.
Give a look at the possible solutions, what's left for me to do is a factory reset, but I don't have enough time to try that.
https://www.reddit.com/r/MotoG/comments/6b1dwp/random_screen_flickering_issue/
It happened to my xt1685 once or twice, and I found out that I can reproduce it. It only happens when brightness is on auto with the brightness slider in a precise position. I assume that it is the automatic brightness adjustment that changes the brightest quickly between 2 settings because it cannot decide which is best. Simply moving the slider a bit makes it stop happening.
It also happens with auto brightness turned off if you are able to point out that exact brightness level. Which according to me is between 3-10%
Never had the issue here.
64/4 US model here.
Have had phone (XT1687 4GB/64GB) for a few weeks. If I had to estimate, it's happened to me on average once a day w/auto brightness on. It's a bit annoying.
It could also be hardware issue, in which case it would be best to get the device replaced. I experienced the same issue, however I cannot reproduce it.
Just bought new Huawei P10 plus phone and noticed weird/buggy behaviour with screen brightness / dimming:
In some apps, like chrome, messaging, facebook, etc, the screen getting darker when switching to them, relatively to normal level of brightness.
Turning off auto-brightness option not fixing the problem.
Current EMUI version: 5.1
Is it possible to fix it somehow or should I wait only official EMUI update?
Any thoughts?
Response from huawei support
Just got response from huawei support:
Thank you for your message. We are aware of this issue and it is somehow related with EMUI 5.1 and 3rd party apps. Our developers are currently investigating the issue, but unfortunately we don't know how loing it will take to fix it. Hopefully we will get a repairing update released soon. Best regards Huawei Support Elina

Yeah, that's what I meant.
I have had same problem on Mate 9 Pro... also some system app were affected like Contacts, Messages... Now on P10 Plus C432B152 I don't see this problem... Probably is only a software bug like low sound on ringtones and notifications...
It's not a bug it'sa feature for preserving battery, some Xperia's and Sumsung's phones behave the same.

No, it's a bug, even huawei support confirmed that already.
It is bug because it affects only some apps, not all!
As you like wait for them to fix it
Mate 8,Mate 9 and now p10 all have the same behavior.
Open the browser on any Sumsung phone and see how the screen dim if you have adaptive screen enabled.

And even for those apps it isnt like that on all devices. So definitely a bug.
Update to my previous post:
I see a light dimming opening some apps and system apps... But is very light compared to Mate 9 Pro...
Many bugs on Huawei devices recently...

Well.. that's not what we expect that some crappy browser dears to change screen brightness. It's irritating, annoying. It should be a way to stop it. Noone asked them to affect brightness. It's up to us.

You can see that mate 10 have the same behaviour so it's not a bug it's a feature https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/help/brightness-automatically-reduced-apps-t3697589
You will only notice this behaviour indoor but outdoor no problem.
The new B171 didn't fix it ... It's so annoying in fb , chrome , dialer and etc ! I am using the P10 . Lux lite doesn't fix it because it max my screen so bright that it hurts my eyes !
Just wanted to say that I have the same issue with the Huawei MediaPad M2 10.0.
EMUI 3.1.
So freaking annoying.
EDIT: Ok, I fixed the issue by going into Settings > Power Saving > and chose "Normal" instead of "Smart". Now when I switch between Apps the screen doesn't dim anymore.
I just bought my P10 Plus and every so often it goes to emergency calls only and unable to make or receive calls. I always have to restart the phone to get connected again. Can you help please

I am intending to purchase the Mate 10, however it too has that dimming issue. Damir Franc created a video review entitled Huawei Mate 10 Ultimate | in-depth Review & Mate 10 Pro comparison. In his review Damir describes and illustrates the dimming issue.
Blinkydude, after reading what you wrote my hopes were raised. I downloaded both the Huawei Mate 10 User Guide and the Huawei Mate 10 Pro User Guide in an attempt to locate what you wrote. Unfortunately there is no mention of what you wrote within those guides. I copied and pasted the below information, it appears in identical form in both Guides.
Their only reference to "Power Saving" is in the section referring to battery power consumption.
Also, the only reference to a "Smart" setting refers to the screen's resolution but not to brightness.
Optimize Power Consumption
Running out of battery at an inopportune time can cause many inconveniences. Power saving features can help to prolong the battery life of your Phone, allowing you to play games or enjoy other features for longer.
Open Phone Manager and touch remaining to perform the following:
View power consumption details: Touch Battery usage to view power consumption details.
In the Battery usage details section, the blue marks beneath Charging indicate the times when your device was charging. Gaps between the marks indicate times when your device was not charging. This feature does not consume power. Touch Battery usage to view which apps and hardware are
consuming the most power.
Comprehensive power consumption check and optimization: Touch Battery usage to check for power consumption problems and automatically optimize performance.
Enable Power saving mode or Ultra power saving mode: Enable Power saving mode or Ultra power saving mode. Choose the appropriate power saving mode based on your Phone's battery level to extend battery life.
Adjust screen resolution to save power: Enable Screen resolution and select Smart resolution. Your device will automatically lower the screen resolution to save power. You can also manually set the screen resolution to save power when high resolution is unnecessary.
Display remaining battery percentage in status bar: Enable Battery percentage to display the remaining battery percentage in the status bar.
Manage app launches to save power: Touch Dropzone to automatically or manually manage app auto-launch, secondary launch, and background activity. The system will automatically manage power usage to save power."
Unfortunately, it appears from their User Guides that the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro does not have the option you described
Hello Developers..
I have been using Moto G4 Plus from last 1 weeks with Oreo stock rom. Later I came to know to about 64 bit Pie build on xda. I flash latest 64 bit TWRP and Arrow OS Pie build. Everything seems fine but whenever I play Call Of Duty mobile, the phone get freeze and Restarts randomly. I disable heads-up notification as per one thread but problem was not fixed. So I flashed different 64bit android pie build available on xda but problem still persist. So does anybody knows it's fix or could it be possible for developer to bring this fix in future updates.
So after long research online i found fix for random reboots.. Its cause by high cpu frequency (ie 1651 MHz)kept by default in looney kernel settings. Its fix by lowering frequency by 1516 MHz and below. According to device specs its highest frequency is 1561 MHz and overclocking it can cause reboot issue due to high cpu temperature.
