Hello Developers..
I have been using Moto G4 Plus from last 1 weeks with Oreo stock rom. Later I came to know to about 64 bit Pie build on xda. I flash latest 64 bit TWRP and Arrow OS Pie build. Everything seems fine but whenever I play Call Of Duty mobile, the phone get freeze and Restarts randomly. I disable heads-up notification as per one thread but problem was not fixed. So I flashed different 64bit android pie build available on xda but problem still persist. So does anybody knows it's fix or could it be possible for developer to bring this fix in future updates.
So after long research online i found fix for random reboots.. Its cause by high cpu frequency (ie 1651 MHz)kept by default in looney kernel settings. Its fix by lowering frequency by 1516 MHz and below. According to device specs its highest frequency is 1561 MHz and overclocking it can cause reboot issue due to high cpu temperature.

Does anyone get problems regularly on the slightest of underclocking (using SetCPU)?
Min at 245:
- Alarm wont turn off (only snoozes)
- Clock on Lock screen wont update
Min at 128:
- Music player becomes stuttery, took a few minutes for screen to power on to turn off music
Noone else seems to have mentioned it ?
Am I doing something wrong?
And its a bit worrying considering so many custom ROMs come pre-clocked.
Totally a hardware issue. Your phone just can't cope with the lower speeds. Not all can.
Mine will do 19mhz on sleep and wake immediately etc. but most others won't
Villainrom should default to the stock settings unless you install something like setcpu and define oc settings.
Not sure about other roms but I guess they do similar unless otherwise stated.
ah cheers.
i knew that some phones couldnt reach a particular Max clock speed, but didnt know it was a similar case with the Min clock speed too
You should try Cronos Droid. I am having the exact same problem as you on all OC'ed 2.1 roms, except Cronos Droid.
My settings on Cronos:
Screen on: 710 mhz
Screen off: 160 mhz
Hello, today I finally rooted my Note 3 with Android L and it turned out my cpu clock was set max at 1728 MHz. I can set it to to 2,3 GHz but it turns itself back to 1728 MHz. And it is really annoying as I noticed my device slowed down after upgrade (so much I started to think about buying new phone as I thought every Note 3 will behave like that). Anyone encountered this issue before? If that matters, I flashed official Polish ROM...
Hi everyone,
Thanks for reading this . As specified above, my phone has a rather serious problem of overheating. To try and reslove the issue I tried modifying the CPU frequency, to set it low enough. And a very bizarre thing just happend.
Opening Kernel Adiutor, I saw that 4 out of my 8 cores (the 2.5 ones) were running normally. No overclock, stock settings, stock governor and so on. The issue seems to be in the other 4 (the 2.3 ones). Both the minimum and highest frequency allowed is set up to the same parameter (1556 mHz), forcing it to stay at maximum clock all the time. I tried modyfing via Kernel Adiutor the settings, lowering the minimum frequency allowed to stock one (which should be around 300 or something), but it had no effects: it immediatly comes back to 1556 and just won't come down.
All of this started happening after i removed Franco Kernel from my system, flashing another ROM (Chroma) with a different kernel altogether. I'm currently on Cataclysm ROM and after doing a clean install, formatting internal storage as well as every other partition, i couldn't resolve the issue. Moreover, Kernel Adiutor sometimes won't even show my CPU settings, stuck on an infinite loading. If anyone could help me, it would be much appreciated. It's really important. I'm by no means Android expert but i do have a rather basic understanding of ADB and so on.
Thanks a lot for your time.

I used to own a n7 and that allowed me to set min and max freq. with apps fine but i am also seeing this on my 6p, i don't notice any "overheating" although it may be due to me being used to it always running hot since i run a lot of heavier programs and also you know... SD810 but i guess it does the frequency thing as a way that frequency is actually controlled on this platform or something, because it sticks fine to the limits you set while flashing a kernel but no app can get it to stick. Then again this is just me sharing my experience with it as it is my first phone with this platform, so maybe someone who knows more about this could offer some help.

Thanks anyway, i really appreciate it!
Waiting for an update since the beginning of the year, i'll possible try to migrate to RR. The stock kernel doesn't work as it should. It keeps changing min freq to max freq, behaving as performance governor (not all the times, but i already saw it a lot)
I tried to control it manually, but without success. The phone keeps lagging where it shouldn't (not too many apps loaded/opened. C'mon, we have enough RAM for basic daily usage).
Anyone tried anything with success? Bother to share?
I recently noticed a very severe battery drain on my R2P a few days back. I am running MIUI 7.5.2.0 stock with root and TWRP 3.2.1. When I would go to sleep with about 60% battery I luckily woke up to the alarm and the battery level was 1% in the morning. And the phone was warmer than usual. I checked out some stats and I came to know that the phone's cores were running on 1209 MHz the whole time rather than being on some lower frequency like 200 MHz or deepsleep. Due to this even while I use WhatsApp or even right now on Chrome Browser the phone is hot AF. I tried many things including factory reset from the TWRP, stock recovery and MIUI settings menu, flashed different versions on lollipop MIUI and and a custom ROM but nothing seemed to work. Before it would easily scale down to lower clock frequencies even when not in deep sleep. This high CPU load is making it so hot that right now I cannot use it for anything leave alone playing games I cannot use document viewers and other simple stuff because it's too hot to handle. What should I do now. Is this mere software problem or something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
