From what I've seen, others with similar problems have returned their Nexus 7 to the store they got it from and exchanged it for a working N7. I would recommend you do the same. If you got yours from the Play store, start an RMA. If you got it from a B&M store, exchange it.
Since you've only had your N7 a week, you shouldn't have any problems exchanging it.

It seems like it's an issue with the touchscreen itself. I have no idea how to verify or solve this issue, though. That's why I would personally exchange the N7 as defective. I would think that since your problem is clearly demonstrable, it would be easy to exchange or RMA.
But there may be a solution around that someone else has heard of. If anyone with greater knowledge of touchscreen issues wants to weigh in on this, please do.

I just started seeing this issue. At first it was only happening within apps. I thought it was issue with maybe stretching the app to a larger screen. But I started seeing it on the home screen.

There was a fix posted here somewhere for a package called surfaceflinger-fix.zip you flash in recovery. Made a huge difference on the touchscreen non responsive issue.

and when you turn off display and turn on again problem will fix
I have also experienced this. I I didn't try turning screen off then on but I rebooted then it was fine again.
I'm more inclined to think that this is a driver bug than a hardware fault

Hi Guys,
I have a big problem.
My find doesn't ring when in standby (after pushing the power butto to lock it).
I tried everything but no way...
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
No way?
Does your screen light up when you have an incoming call?
Sent from my X909 using Tapatalk 4
Only when not in stand by.
If in stand by no screen and no ringing...

X909EROM_V1.0.0_3305G_full, but I tried all the firmware from Oppo and also others... No way to make it ring when in standby!
May be a hardware malfunction. Have you tried to contact the seller? I'll double check all the settings in case something got toggled off, but if you've tried other firmwares with full wipes then it should have reset whatever the problem was.. You have tried doing a full wipe/factory reset correct?
Sent from my X909 using Tapatalk 4
I thought it could be related to having messed up with profiles and/or sound settings... but...yeah...having tried other firmwares with prior factory resets... a hardware malfunction is definitely a possibility.
Is it just me?
The phone is great but from time to time my camera app freezes and showes me black background.... Need to reboot which is annoying.....
Problem occurs on any rom

For me to this happens. Better we should use a good ram boosters like clean master
Sent from my SM-G7102 using Tapatalk
Actually I thought Clean Master caused the problem but although I uninstalled the app, the freezes are still on........
Anyone any idea?
Apart from that problem, I love my Grand 2!

Use camera 2 pro application. It has more features than stock camera. Or there is a new camera application available now on our forum think lenovo camera. Better try that one.

I have the Verizon variant on stock the screen will randomly shutoff sometimes they say if you put your hand over the sensor it will do that but it does it even when I'm not touching the phone on cm11 Roms its the opposite i will turn screen on and when I set it down on the table it will turn back on I am so fed up with it doing and if it keeps doing this I will buy a nexus 5 or maybe the new oppo when it comes out

Is this hardware or software its a hardware problem

If it's a hardware problem I guess I will have to flash it back don't wanna have to do that it seems to slightly improve when I flash furnace kernel

Do you use a screen protector?
No screen protector it seems to do it sometimes but when it does do it it is very bad and almost impossible to use
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
I'm on the VZW variant too and don't have that issue. So I'm almost thinking its hardware. Probably the proximity sensor is messed up. I do think I remember some developer having that same problem and it was a hardware issue. Are you running a custom ROM too?

Try entering the service menu and testing the proximity sensor.
I believe it might be a hardware problem.
I did that it helps it doesn't do it as much but still does occasionally hate to get a new one that I can't root or install custom recovery
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
I would hate for it to not have custom recovery do you know if shellnutt figured out what was going on with freegee it only does it sometimes I don't have much options for a new phone
Samsung yuck maybe an oppo they seem nice if it keeps doing this I have a friend that would love this phone hopefully it will stop it has only done it once today

My pen works on other devices but does not work on mine.
My phone alerts me when I pull the pen out but does not show up when I try using it on my screen.
The indicator doesn't show up either
This happened a just recently I have the latest firmware. The phone is not rooted.
