[Problem] A3 doesnt activate the debug mode - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Hello, i have this problem and its really annoying. The thing is a couple of months ago i really can access everything but now i cant even access my phone on pc... dont know why, the debug mode is active and still computer doesnt recognize it. I want to flash coz the device randomly restarts so i dont know. Hope you can help me, the model is sm-a300m and have lollipop 5.0.2. If you need something more plz tell me.
Thank you!

Hi. I guess you have tried different cables and USB ports already.
Does it gets recognised by odin in download mode?
If it is, then you can try to reflash stock rom. If that won't work I'm afraid your USB port is damaged.

I tested the usb cable with another phone with debug activated and it recognize them without problem, so i dont think is a cable issue.
Odin either recognize the device, also i use the cable for charging the phone i dont know if its the same.
Thank you for your reply.
PS: when i tried to do a wipe data it give me this error: "e: unknown volume [/sbfs]" but im not sure if this have something to do with the issue.

Ok. I don't know what that /sbfs is about. Maybe it's software issue after all, and not the USB port itself.

Mmm... can i flash with SD? I have a stock rom for my country in my hands.
Thank you.

[Q] LG G2 USB Not Recognized

Hi, background is this..
I have a D802-10C G2 that i rooted the stock 4.2.2 rom a while back using the post chinese method. Easy enough, all worked fine. no complaints. A couple of weeks ago i got offered the OTA 4.4 update, this failed due to the root. I then removed the root using the feature in super su. that seems to have worked as no apps or file managers etc could get root access. However, the OTA still wont work.
Now my problem is my phone will no longer be recognized by any operating system, on multiple computers. I have tried many ADB drivers, Windows 7 wont even detect the device, i've used every PC connect mode, USB debugging. However always the same result, it's as if i'm plugging in a blank usb cable into the computer. Nothing at all.
The only thing that does happen when i connect the phone to a computer is the phone starts to trickle charge. There is nothing detected in Device Manager in Windows 7 I've tried connecting in download mode, nothing. I've tried the LG support tool, PC sync. Nothing.
WiFi does connect to the PC suite fine BTW and other than that the phone is working perfectly. I've also tried connecting multiple usb cables on multiple ports.
I haven't been able to find a single case of the same problem in the week or so i've been looking. Hoping someone can help, i'm thinking i may have soft bricked my phone. I really do not think this is a driver issue.
Any help would be great. cheers
Paul

The problem is not like the usual ones you will see about "computer not being able to see device" I don't think it's a driver or software issue, or if it is it's unlike any i have found in the weeks i've been searching the net for a solution. Here's why....
When i connect the phone to Windows 7 and 8 ( on 3 different computers) No hardware is detected, nothing in the Device Manager, no yellow question marks indicating 'Unknown Hardware'. Nothing, all it does is start trickle charging.
Now even with no ADB, or any driver at all installed, the computer should still detect the phone. Mine does not.
The same thing happens using OSX and Linux Mint 16 (again multiple computers) No devices or mounted or volumes shown at all. Linux terminal command "$ lsusb" does not list my hardware.
This is why i'm pretty much convinced that there is something wrong with the USB port on the phone. Because, if Linux can't see it then surely it's a hardware problem right?
The only other thing i can think of is, i have messed up the phones firmware while trying to unroot it? but only because the timing of all this is just too uncanny.
I think i'll have to suck it up and admit defeat here. Funny thing is the phone works perfectly and charges fine.
Stuck on 4.2 , with no ADB functionality. Perhaps i'll sell it cheap to someone who doesn't care.
Cheers for the reply mate.
Same problem here!
Only my G2 is not rooted, it is still on factory OS and recently updated to 4.4.2.
I have tried on several computers, different ports and no help.
On the first connection to a PC not connected before windows reports "USB device not recognized" problem.
After that every time I connect the phone to the same computer the phone itself only recognizes that it is using USB charging mode, it does not recognize the computer connection (known by the USB ison on android system tray) even with "Ask upon connection option checked".
Even when I manualy change the Android mode in Settings --> PC Connection from MTP to PTP or even LG software, nothing happens.
Definetly there seems to be a problem with the phone, but I don't beleive it's a software but a firmware problem.
Please help if anyone knows what to do.
same thing happened after installing T-mobile rom thrugh twrp. but my device boots into fastboot and i tryed falshing :
laf.img, boot.img, aboot.img, recovery.img, laf.img
but after reboot my LS980 dissapear from device manager and stucked on LG logo.
Dont know what to do now.
I'm no expert, but given there are a lot of them here and none have weighed in on this with any ideas for a fix, i'm going to assume it's a hardware problem.
Anyone else agree? Hardware problem not software?
Cheers
I guess that you already wiped everything right? Apart from that, i'll suggest you to go to some tech supp and ask them if they can verify that each pin of the micro usb is properly working.
Sorry for my english, hope it helps!

I will try to check the connector although i dont think that it is a hardware issue.
BTW I can enter the download mode after flashing the mentioned partitions and i can also enter the stock LG recovery but when i do the factory reset it keeps showing Factory reset processing ... for ever
It has happened to me the same thing :crying:, and is a problem with the boot.img, if by chance your G2 version 4.4.2 and the the 4.2.2 boot.img, goodbye.
The only solution is to take it to repair a service official, there will change you the card, with the consequent change of IMEI.quent change of IMEI.

I have a LG G2 . recently updated from vs98027a to vs98039a 5.0 lollipop. Since the update my computer won't recognize my device in download mode and I don't have superuser ppermissions. Help plz
I also have the same problem.
It happened when I tried to backup info through LG PC Suite: the phone disconnected during the process, and now it's not recognized by any PC (http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/help/lg-g2-recognized-windows-backup-t3155323).
Also found a description of the same problem here: https://www.reddit.com/r/lgg2/comments/2urpnw/lg_g2_usb_only_charging_not_recognized_by_pc/ - no solutions, too.
Did anyone manage to fix this?

Please help, s4 sgh i337m brick!!!

Hi there !!!,windows doesn't recognize my s4 i337m in download mode (code 29), when i was flashing (stock canada 5.0.2) my cousin unplugged the cable by mistake, now i can go into download mode but widows 7 doesnt recognize anymore (tried different pcs and cables , the same), did it damage the usb port? or is hardbricked?? what can i do??? please help!!
I'm no expert on this, but you can try taking out battery. Hold power button to discharge hardware and put battery back in and see if it works. You can also try factory reset & wipe cache from recovery (Vol Up + Home + Power) and try again.
Your phone at least goes to Download mode so that's good sign I guess. You're using ODIN to flash 5.0.2, right?
Wait more experienced person to answer, though.

It looks like the PC does recognize something is connected; it just doesn't know what the device is. This makes me think USB port is fine otherwise PC wouldn't recognize anything AT ALL. Does the phone still charge?
You can try the 3 methods here. I know it says for Code 28, but it will reinstall drivers for usb ports. Restart and see if phone is detected.
If it's still not detected, remove Samsung drivers, Kies, or anything related to Samsung phone. Restart and install Samsung USB drivers again. Restart again and see if phone is detected.
bro i'm afraid it did not work, perhaps replacing usb port on my device? or the whole flex?
aditional data: my nephew unplugged the usb cable by mistake while i was flashing canada stock 5.0.2 , obviously odin "failed" , but after that , windows 7 does not recognize my device anymore. i can still go into download mode.

Well, I'm stumped too now, man. You can try the driver thing I said on another computer. I don't know any other things you can try.
If you can charge your phone, your usb port probably works fine. The firmware got corrupted, causing this problem most likely.
solved!!

How to fix unable to mount system ?

I have in a tough spot at the bottom. My phone is not connecting to ODIN which makes it very difficult to flash a stock rom. Everytime I connect the USB cable my computer states it cannot recognize device. I try the fix of updating the software in device manager but this only leads to connecting to ODIN without being able to flash.
Prior to this I was getting slow charge or no charge issues at time making me think the port is bad on the phone. But it works at times so i'm so confuse right now.
Thanks for any help.

Usb device not recognized

Hello guys, has anyone of you had a problem when you connect p8lite to pc. Only charging icon shows up and windows gives error:
Usb device not recognized
One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned.
Ver. B564
I tested on my second computer and same problem.
Tested:
Usb debugging on/off
Different usb cable
Different computer
1. What version are you running on huawei?
2. What windows are you running on pcs?
1. B564
2. Both have win10
well .. i have no idea ... i'm also running b565 @ win 10 and i don't have any problems
try factory reset or try to plug in differents usb slots.
I tried different usb slots on both computers (USB2 & USB3) and still same..
I don't think that factory reset would work because it is still unrecognised even i shut down the phone
Would it be possible that phones connectors took some damage while dropping phone from pocket ?
You forgot to mention that
Of course it's possible, the phone could receive a shock which could lead to a short circuit from dropping xD
Is your phone in warranty?
Nope, bootloader unlocked.
Well so i have to learn using phone without adaway
I dunno if with bootloader unlocked your warranty is voided because it's not the same as rooting your phone .
Yeah. But i won't send phone back because usb file transfering isn't must have. That's only sad i cant install TWRP.
Edit: sorry! Read wrong
I know warranty is voided. But while i updated to B564 i lost twrp and now because usb wont work i cant flash it again to root

Unlocked bootloader isn't always voiding your warranty.

recently, i am facing this problem too... don't know how, but everything was fine until a week ago...
Specs:
Build Number : ALE-L21C432B574 Sokkoban's Deodexed ROM
Rooted: Yes
Bootloader Status: Unlocked
Xposed : Yes, v85.1
Same problem here and I think it might have to do with the rooting. since having SU on it usb not been working so only hope maybe is to do factory reset that am going to try and see if works and backup everything first and go from their.
Have tried reset no joy still the same so am guessing something more to do with rom its self as never dropped phone or anything yet usb works now and then maybe hardware no idea but only happend since rooting.
Ok it worked with default cable on my laptop and my friends laptop..

Great phone but for some reason only Chinese logic can explain OGG/USB function on p8 Lite comes factory disabled and even flashing it does not seem to help. NEVER AGAIN, HUAWEI If you cant enable a fkkn standard function on a midrange mobile then you are utterly useless .
I have same problem,,how to fix usb not recognized

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Troubles...

Hi,
First off I'd like to say I'm new here, secondly... I've been trying to fix my phone because no matter how many times I try to fix it - it won't budge.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which I've had for a few months and since the beginning when I try to connect it to my computer... It won't recognize it, but it will make a sound of recognition.
I've tried installing "ADB" installers, universal drivers and Samsung KIES (Samsung's OWN software won't work... Rediculous and unacceptable)... I installed some sort of "USB Mass Storage Controller" on the phone itself as the app gave me an "MTP" option that the phone alone does not provide - the result was that the phone was recognized but it was also continuously making a sound of recognition and a system process on my phone kept saying it "stopped working" something about "media".
I'm mentally exhausted from this situation. When things don't work as they were intended it gets me frustrated... and as you can imagine from that last line I've been infuriated at my phone and computer for the last hour as I've finally taken the time to fix this issue and neither the computer nor phone will budge. I have pretty much given up and that's why I'm here... asking for help.
The phone is running stock android Lollipop and is rooted (otherwise the mass storage controller wouldn't have worked... according to comments on it on YouTube).

Model number is SM N900W8
I'm not sure what you mean by 'changed USB cable USB Port'... Maybe you mean have I checked other USB ports on my PC, in which case.. no.
I never thought to look in device manager because this seems more like an issue with the "phone" and not "PC".
Your question searched.
Change USB Port on PC.
Use original samsung cable .
Install Samsung usb driver.
Are the stock answers .
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
You have the Canadian version of the note 3?
Installing the Samsung drivers should be enough to let the phone appear in windows as a removable device without having root access.
If the phone isn't recognised by the computer, have you tried using different usb cables attached to different usb ports on the computer?
Does the phone charge properly?
Jiggle the usb cable when connected in the phones port .
Kinda worked...
I plugged my phone into the back of the computer and the computer recognizes and shows the phone in 'my computer' beforehand I installed the Samsung drivers.
But I have a continuous process popping up saying "Unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped working" this will pop up 1-3 times every 5-10 minutes ever since I installed that USB Mass Storage app on the play store... Clearly, it did something wrong to the phone.
Also, since my phone apparently WILL connect to the computer now, I'd like to try to put CyanogenMod or crDroid on this thing to update it as Lollipop is fairly out-dated.
Factory reset.
Flash the rom of your choice .

Thank you for your suggestion, but I'm afraid that your suggestion comes across as vague to me. I'm no phone expert, I just know enough to get by.
I wiped the cache and that didn't seem to do anything and if I do a factory reset won't that just reset my phone?
You said you wanted to put a custom rom on phone.
Decide your rom and follow its instructions .
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I had trouble connecting my Note 3 to PC, because of the kernel. Changed the kernel and it worked. Try flashing a different kernel (you do this by copying/downloading the kernel into the phone and then entering custom recovery [which you can install with Odin if you didn't already] and flashing the kernel from there).
I find the instructions to most of these operations very perplexing.
