I bought my Zenfone 3 Zoom about 10 days ago and from the day I bought it, facebook app notifications have been behaving erratically.
First I wasn't getting any push notifications at all for a couple of days, so I went into notifications and basically reset all notification settings so that I would receive all notifications. No dice. After a couple of days suddenly I started receiving notifications late at night, around 1am.
I thought it was fixed, but then after 8am I noticed notifications had stopped again. That night, again, around 1am they started pushing again and continued through the night until 8am, then nothing the rest of the day. Then nothing for the next couple of days.
Now they push every night between 1am and 8am, but nothing the rest of the day. I haven't set any time schedule for notifications anywhere and I can't figure out how to fix it.
I have tried the app with a different facebook account and everything worked normally for the other account, went back to my account and this weird schedule again.
Any ideas?

It's that stupid auto-start manager app on the phone that's messing with you're notifications. First go into settings, then click power management and click auto-start manager, next under the downloaded tab of apps, find facebook and make it allowed on auto-start up, restart the phone and hood as new.

I am wondering if there is any way to schedule the hours when the phone checks my email...
Bloomin thing is goin off at all hours and keepin me up!
I dont need to know I have an email at 4am! Seems a silly feature not 2 have!
I think you can set Locale to turn your notification sounds off at certain times, but I've never tried it myself since I never have notification sounds on anyway.
Locale works great. I set up mine to switch all notifications off (apart from alarm for obvious reason) betwen 10pm and 7am on weekdays, but only if phone is charging.
I use Locale to switch my phone to silent/no vibrate at night (after 10 PM).
I've got an issue with my evo that it will randomly start not sleeping when i turn off the screen. ive got no radios on, and no internet and i am befuddled as to what is keeping it up. the battery was lasting exceptionally well a couple of days before the update because i took off all facebook syncing (that was causing my battery drain). now its back to belly flopping to zero as fast as it can when its supposed to be sleep.
ive tried turning off gtalk, ive got no radios on. at first i thought it was a syncing issues, because i was checking accounts and syncs, and one of my gmail accounts was constantly syncing contacts, and error'ing out. so i turned off sync contacts and its still awake when i turn off the screen.
Im just putting it out there to see if anyone else might have noticed such things on their evo. im still searching to see what could be keeping it up, but for now, i am rebooting as i write this to see if that helps.
I have delayed sms notification. I received 1 new sms but there should be a "1" on the sms/mms icon(that means I have 1 new message), and minutes/hours later after reading the new sms, I see the "1" on my sms icon which, when I opened it, there is no new sms!
Weird!
Viber, i cant make calls too. I press the call button but it wont do anything. Later on it was calling by itself after a few minutes!
Battery issues: charged 100% by 10:30pm, bluetooth and wifi is on, around 11-12am phones gets hot inside my pocket, cleared all apps, battery went down to 77% by 12:15am not even using it!

Not a battery issue. You have one app not letting the phone enter deep sleep.
i reset my phone and works fine for now. somehow my pebble watch is the culprit, idk.
I have battery issues too. Day one, charged up, used as normal, recharged next morning. Day two. Charged up, used, charged at night due to low battery. Now a week later, I have to charge it multiple times a day. It was 100% at 7am, now at 1 pm am at 10%. Not playing any games.
Turned on all the stamina programs, and same.
Battery performance says screen is 43% while voice calls are 23%.? Voice calls?
Where did my awesome battery life go?

I had same issue. It was Lookout and Sony's photo upload service (among some others) that were draining it. I like "Clean Droid" to help identify the culprits of these sorts of issues. Stamina mode also helps - but make sure you add the apps that you need to work in the background or it will kill them all when screen is off.
I think mine is fine, BUT there was that time when i first got mine that the shutter button stopped working with the screen off followed by the camera lockscreen shortcut dissapearing. A factory reset solved it but im curious if it will happen again
I've been having SMS issues, lots of times SMS's won't send on the first try, and sometimes I'll wake the phone up, do some stuff, and all of a sudden I've got a flood of SMS's... Yesterday I got about 6 messages at once, and 2 of them were a full day old...
Consequences of Installing custom roms on a T- MO z3
Its the first time I have an on contract phone. I moved over from a nexus 4 and i dont know the consequences of unlocking the bootloader(if any). What happens if I do manage to unlock it and install custom roms on the phone while its on contract?
For a time, I kept getting duplicate SMS messages. I'd wager it was a network thing, as it stopped all at once about a week ago.
I had similar issue using textra but it stopped and worked fine next day, might've been temporary network problem.
I have had similar issues. Sometimes I have to send a message twice for my friends to get it. also I keep having this issue where ill try to make a call and it hangs up immediately, it will continue to do this until I reboot the phone. I'm loving this phone but someone needs to figure out how we can flash a international firmware image.
It may be a network issue, with Sprint this happened to me a lot.

Unlocking bootloader on Sony devices corrupts DRM keys which renders x-reality useless. Also, some camera functionality will no longer be present . IMHO, unlocking bootloader is not worth it, especially considering the limited amount of custom ROMs available.
Download gsam and monitor what it using your battery and processor, then disable it. My problem was media server, disable that and everything was fine
My 2nd Z3 doesn't have these issues anymore ?
I got the phone yesterday and during the initial set up, the phone got warm and dropped from 60% to 35% in less than an hour. Everything settled down but the battery was still draining quickly.
Last night, I charged the phone fully before going to bed and left it off the charger overnight. When I woke up 7 hours later, the battery had dropped to 78% which I think is completely uncalled for. Now for the past few hours, my battery is dropping faster than it should and my phone is getting warm just browsing Chrome or Facebook.
The other issues I am having are with sync. I got two emails overnight around 5am and just got the notification for them at 11am after I did a manual sync. I also haven't been able to get any Facebook notifications since I started using the app. I have the notification settings set correctly in the app and in the phone settings. The only thing I get is a Icon badge.
The apps I noticed that were sucking down a lot of power are the built in Amazon App and something called Access Cloud. I disabled the Amazon app but I can find the Access Cloud.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what's going on?
For notifications being delayed, go to Settings -> Advanced features -> Smart alert -> Off.
This feature waits for you to pick up your phone to notify you of notifications.... in my opinion should be off by default.
As for the battery I'm in the same boat, but it's only been two days so far and it's lasted me an entire day. Disable any tmobile bloat you don't use.
I had about the same amount of drain overnight as you. I had a horrible experience with the t-mobile app in the past where after disabling it I was seeing 15-20% more battery life throughout the day. But seeing as we can't disable this app out of the box, I downloaded an app called "Package Disabler" that allows you to disable pretty much anything you want. I disabled all these apps, let's see if it makes a difference today.

I just went through and disabled a bunch of stuff using Package Disabler. I guess we will see how it works.
I already had Smart Alert off so I know that's not the issue.
I wonder if anyone else is getting Facebook notifications.

I don't think smart alert waits for you to pick up the device to notify you.. I still get all my notifications right away. Smart alert just vibrates the phone as you pick it up to tell you that you have a missed notification. I could be wrong but that's how it worked on my s6 edge, why would it be any different now?

I agree. That's also the way it works for me.

I ended up doing a factory reset being that the battery drain was so bad. I also can't deal with the delayed notifications and non existing Facebook notifications.
If this doesn't work I'll just exchange it for another. There's no reason why some people with the same phone are getting good battery life and others have to deal with piss poor battery life.
I'm in the same boat. Just woke up with the phone off the charger after being fully charged. 2 hours later the phone was down 2% with 100% cpu usage with the android system. Since browsing the Web for this issue, I'm down 10%. My s6 was way better on batter and only went down 1% since yesterday with no usage! How can I fix this ? I upgraded for better battery life

You're probably right, I just interpreted it as it would only notify you when you picked up the device, but then again I always disable it. Downloaded Package disabler as well after reading this thread, here's to disabling that pesky T-Mobile app! :good:
For some reason, my phone just won't sleep even when I sleep! Do you guys have a fix for this? Thank you.
I already did the wipe cache thing and I restarted the phone mamy times. I also tried package disabler pro.
For my Sprint GS7E, wakelock is caused by GpsLocationServices_ex from Android System. Workaround is to turn off Location.

I have the exact same problem. Has anyone contacted Verizon about this issue? Has anyone found a solution?
Thanks.

Same thing. I've factory reset my VZW GS7 Edge three times since receiving it in March. It seems ok for a couple of days and then goes right back to not sleeping. I have location turned off. Any ideas?

Try to recall what you installed before that situation happens and uninstall the software and then reboot the phone to see if it solves the issue.

Sorry. I should have been more descriptive in my troubleshooting steps. After the last reset:
Day 0: Left wifi off, bluetooth off, no email syncing at all, no location services, no Facebook, no Google photos sync. Awesome battery life.
Day 1: Turned on wifi (home and at the office). Left everything else as above. Still awesome battery.
Day 2: Added bluetooth & used it. Awesome battery life.
Day 3: Added email manual sync for Outlook account. Awesome battery life
Day 4: Added Google photos sync. Still awesome battery life
At that point, was thinking I had it nailed. The reset fixed it. But I still took it easy on the phone; making no additional changes. Two or three days later, battery life went from showing 2+ days to barely getting 24 hours. The Android O/S was keeping it awake like 20 hours. Reboots didn't help the situation. Yesterday, I barely got 18 hours out of it.
This afternoon, I was reading the forums again and thought I'd try leaving everything the way it was and just turning off wifi. Phone hasn't had a call or text today. 5 minutes checking email is about all the activity on it.
Almost completely in standby today.
12:45 p.m. - turned off wifi
Phone on battery 9 hr, 3 minutes.
Android OS 16 % - Stay awake 5 hr 53 minutes.
Looking at the usage graph, the phone started going into doze not long after turning off wifi. Is wifi really the culprit? If so, why didn't it start on day 1 when I activated it after the reset?
Maybe try removing some of the syncing accounts if you have any. I had battery drain on exchange or contact sync before but they would show up in battery status. The Android OS thing is abnormal. If you can't solve it by yourself, you can try returning the phone and get a new one.
