Does chainfire root still work on 6.0.1? - Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can anyone confirm if it still works? Just using odin to flash the root.

DONT FLASH THE FILES ATTACHED IN THE THREAD.
GET THE SIMILAR FOR YOUR FIRMWARE.
THIS IS ONLY THE METHOD OF HOW TO MAKE TOWELROOT WORK.
Relying on your point that i9507 = i9505. (Almost)
In a simpler way,
Download towelroot on your phone
Get stock kernels of the firmware that you are using right now and of an older 4.4.2 version (say early august)
Flash the kernel of the previous version of 4.4.2.
Use towelroot
Flash latest kernel.
You have root without tripping Knox
If you want to trip Knox (many don't want to trip it and many don't care if it trips) see for chainfire's cf-autoroot flashable via odin.
Or
If you have philz recovery for your phone, flash philz and then in recovery-philz options-reroot your phone.

This Root method does work on 5.0.2, I checked myself. But on 5.0.2 you can't flash recovery.
I followed the thread below to downgrade to kitkat and that allowed me to root via Towel Root, flash TWRP and CM12.1

I had same issues with losing root when i flashed the cf-root file direct through odin. Best thing to do is flash Twrp recovery through odin, then flash the superuser file via Twrp. Thats best way for permanant root. Good luck

I installed latest twrp and latest stable supersu 2.65 and it did not work.
Edit: after twrp-ing supersu beta 2.74 finally root is working! Thanks.

Working guide for rooting G870F?

Can someone confim if this guide works on 5.0 only or also on 5.1? (G870F) I'm on stock 5.0, all I have to do is to flash the CF-root file via Odin and that's it?

how do I root Sm a300fu 6.0.1?

The title says it all How do I root my a300fu with android 6.0.1??? Tried some different methods like cf-auto root and via twrp and kingo root but no success so maybe some of you guys know how???
Thanks in advance.

Flash TWRP with Odin, make sure you dont tick AutoReboot as stock recovery flashes itself back.
After that, download SuperSU package, flash it through TWRP, and enjoy root.
Apologies, But do you have links for exact root file to use.
Thank you kindly

For me cf-auto root works. Do you used the latest from chainfires list?
If anybody is interrested I can also provide an odin-flashable, prerooted and deodexed ROM. But it will last some days...
Thank you Pluto delic, Works perfectly
Best wishes
Can anyone point me in the right direction on how I can root this samsung galaxy a300fu on 6.0.1?
