All experts,
I would like to 'enable' on my S7 edge the dual SIM function. The 'international' card holder could care 2 Nano SIM card, but the G935F is supporting just one SIM.
It's possible to do this without root? It's possible to install the G935FD firmware or are there radio baseband modifications nesessary?
In addition, I need to run the Blackberry Works app (former Good). This app is not running on a rooted phone.
Thanks for any comment and help.

You can't.
Single sim variant have only 1 imei number but dual sim variant have 2 which are for each sim. You can't just add more imei to your phone and even if you can, it is illegal.
Also card holder of single sim variant cannot hold 2 sim cards, only 1 sim card+microsd.
G935fd and G935f firmwares also are identical. So you can flash it on your phone but it's not going to enable dual sim on single sim variant.

While don't you save yourself the strength and buy the dual sim version, because like the other guy above said, its impossible to use dual sim on a single sim. Backup your data, get the dual sim version and restore back.
Thanks for the first feedback.
- single SIM and dual SIM card holders are available at eBay etc. The HW of the two phone is 100% identical. A friend of mine converted his G935f to G935fd with the support of a Vietnamese service guy over TeamViewer. My problem is the root after this.
BTW: Buying a DUOS is not a problem, it cost just some money
Thanks for expert tips...

It IS possible to convert G930/5F to G930/5FD. Only you have to do is clone your IMEI as IMEI 2 using Z3x or other software and replace SIM + microSD tray to SIM + SIM/microSD or DIY
That's in theory, but I personally need assist in:
1. Downgrading to Nougat, because Z3x doesn't support (yet) the newest /efs to modify cert to add that IMEI 2 or at least I can't find new enough which supports Oreo
1.1 Need to factory reset!
2. Getting root
3. Adding IMEI 2
3.1. Need to factory reset!
4. Updating back to official Oreo without root, if possible. I'm perfectly fine with normal functions, don't need the root for anything. Only I need is second SIM. I believe that I need to flash official Nougat first over rooted Nougat and update it using FOTA to Oreo? If not, flashing Oreo by Odin.
I will very appreciate any help with confirming these steps (is it correct way?) and helping me to get needed files and stuff to do it.
All experts,
I have replace the motherboard of my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, dual sim variant (SM-G935FD) with that of single sim variant but a frequent prompt of sim card mode shift is happened, saying "the sim card mode is witched from dual sim to single sim mode, which requires a rest to factory setting and restart". Since there is only a restart option, I'm forced to hit it and restart frequently but not working yet. How can I fix this problem?
Thanks for any comment and help!
Yoseph
I also used z3x and it works flawlessly im on Oreo s7 edge exynos.

Hello guys. This is my first Samsung device. It's network locked here in the Philippines and I flashed UK firmware to get Nougat update. Since thre is an official update available now in our country, I flashed the firmware downloaded from sammobile with CSC SMA (philippines Smart). The problem is, SIM 2 is not working for a different SIM card (ex. Globe). Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Before only SIM 1 is Network locked and SIM 2 is openline. Now they are both Network locked.

As far as I know, Dual SIM phone has issues when trying to unlock the phone. they are problematic and sometimes they refuse to work. I recommend you take it to Samsung assistance, maybe they can do something with your firmware and make the phone work again.
As the title says, can you flash the single sim version of S8/S8+ with dual sims version?
Are there any differences in hardware?
The firmware the duos model uses is the same as the single SIM model. The firmware detects the extra hardware can installs SIM manager.

The 2nd imei is missing.
Hello.
Its not possible do to this, because today i try to make this and the firmware detects only the micro SD and one SIM card.
But the dual version SIM i think its possible do detect 2 card sim and micro SD.
Sorry for my english...i am portuguese and some times i dont remember some words.
Yes Its work make Single convert to Dual Sim.
BUT you cant use Sim 2 , they have no Number (000000000000000/07) its invalid.
only FD version have Sim 1&2 IMEI
So its possible to flash the duos firmware, but because there's no second IMEI it wouldn't work?
And if you purchased a hybrid dual sim tray, (which are readily availible) you would still have the 0000000........... for the second sim Correct?? And if you had a spare IMEI for the second sim, then how would you make the second IMEI work? Is there a IMEI flasher program for samsung phones??
I know there's one for MTK devices, so where's the sammy software program??
Surely this must be able to be done. If the mate 10 pro can be converted, the why not the s8 or even the s9/s9+??
Following.
Ok so what I understand and could be wrong. Is the hardware is there to read either if you look at the hybrid trays they are setup to read either 2 sims and no sd card or 1 SIM 1 sd.
So bassicly it comes down. To if that is true. For all models.
I have seen settings with 0000 imei for SIM card 2. But the option is there so what ever needs to be done in that case can be done. But of coarse I'm not getting Into imei options on s8. But they are possible. So it could be possible.
So bassicly some one needs to order the hybrid sim tray. Get the aluminum ones. But then try so see in hidden menues in settings and such see if detection of second sim is even possible.
So to test the one who does it at worst out a couple bucks for a tray. Of coarse check hidden menus.
First before flashing firmwares. Th3n after all that. Easily slide the tray in just for caution. No jamming as not to possibly damage anything.
IMEI Guru LLC Service tool can write a second IMEI directly to the system.
Hello fellow S8 users,
I've recently purchased a Samsung S8 SM-G950FD from eBay as I wanted the Dual SIM capability. Version image attached, I'm not entirely sure where it's from.
Unfortunately the Samsung Pay version on the phone is in Chinese as are the promotion, images attached.
Can someone tell me if it's possible to get the Australian version on Samsung Pay on this phone?
Can I just update the ROM to an Australian version? If so, would I end up losing the Dual SIM capability?
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
Any suggestions?

Your Australia cards should work as Australia already have support for Samsung Pay. I have setup few of my Indian cards with Australian version phone. I guess you need to bear with the Chinese though. Updating XSA room will definitely disable the Dual sim option and I am not sure 950FD support 950F.

Yeh the Samsung Pay Application doesn't like my American Express Card....
It states that Amex is not supported in my country, but in fact it's working on my Samsung S6, and my Gear 3.
So you think changing the firmware to AU I would lose the Dual SIM capabilities?
It might just be easier to try and get the Samsung Pay and Samsung Pay Framework from AU ROM and extract it to mine maybe?
If it's anything like the S7, you should be fine putting the Australian firmware on it. I got an S7 edge from the UAE and had to flash German firmware and the T-Mobile CSC to it for spay to finally work. It'll be trail and error, but the multi sim function never went away for me.
Since almost all the international S8/S8+s are on the multi CSC ROM, all you need to do is reset your phone (preferably from the recovery menu) and put in the Oz SIM and reboot. All the regional features are activated, and you get Oz SPAY.
Using that method, I am currently using the India SPAY on an Afghanistan S8+ (Dual sim) and Taiwanese S8 and both work with all cards.

I've actually tried to restore to factory setting 6+ times with an assortment of sim cards from Vodafone, Optus, Telstra, Macquarie (Telstra variant), samsung pay keeps loading up as Taiwanese version (Chinese)...
I've recently asked a friend to extract his Samsung Pay & Framework.apk, it still loads Taiwan Samsung pay.
I think it's region locked?
I'm going to try and restore to XSA Firmware, apparently this worked for the S7 guys, whilst retaining Dual Sim functions.

Did you try to factory reset from recovery? Vol up + Bixby + power, wait for few seconds it goes into recovery. Put the regional SIM in, then reboot. It will reboot twice and activate SIM specific features (prominently tells you that it's doing so).
Also please post a screenshot of the Settings->Software information screen (Service provide SW ver. is 2nd last row) both before and after you complete the process.
Someone recommended me this solution after I had a similar problem with my UAE S8 and flashing other country firmware no longer works without supporting SIM card. Download Samsung Pay version 2.7.03 and try that.

Means that it doesn't matter which firmware you flash if you don't have the country's sim card because s8 will default back to factory CSC. Only way to change CSC without root is to flash with the supporting sim card installed.

Has anyone here got the Australian Samsung Pay app onto the Taiwanese dual-sim model? I purchased an S8+ at $799 (compared to the RRP of $1349) but I don't want to factory reset if I don't have to.
Anyone got spay working? Pkease share what firmware version are you using.
Good day guys and gals. I recently got the Huawei P smart (FIG-LX1C16) but it does not support dual sim. Now I want to fin out if I flash the (FIG-LX1C33) firmware will it work and does the C33 model support dual sim.

Maybe you can flash this ROM to allow dual sim
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/kangvip-rom-emui-8-0-p-smart-enjoy-7s-t3775920
UPDATE: this rom doesn't rebrand, so it doesn't allow dual sim....
Did you get this sorted i aint got option for dual sim even though it has slot
Rebranded with exit: highly recommended, nice attention and resolution. The few bucks spent are worthy due to the nice job done. Rebranded from C02 (Votafone mono sim) to C432 (european dual sim) in http://ministryofsolutions.com/2018/...-dual-sim.html
Rebranding is done by remote control with nice and easy instructions
Does anyone know how to do this for free?
I also have single SIM variant of FIG-LX1 (C02?). Is it possible to change it to dual SIM? If yes, from where does it get the second IMEI?

It doesn't give a second IMEI, I had a p9 lite and changed it to a dual SIM from a UK single SIM version.
Both sims worked with 1 IMEI somehow.
(2nd sim was 2g only)

I see...It seems to provide second IMEI as zeroes, but that can be changed too.
I suppose we can use the same steps as listed here, if we get proper OEMInfo from C432 model and C432 firmware...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-lite/how-to/huawei-p10-lite-lx1c432-successfully-t3737383
EDIT:
I found oeminfo here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/how-to-root-huawei-p-smart-fig-lx1-t3752705/page25
Did anybody successfully rebranded the phone already to unlock dual-SIM?
I also have a Huawei PSmart fig-lx1 running oreo 8.0.0. Its only allows for single sim while it has a slot for dual micro sims. how do I get the second sim working. What do I need to do for it to work.
We all in the same situation. I've been trying the whole day to unlock the second sim. And i cant find a solution.
Anyone ?
- delete this post -
Bumping this since I've just got one of these phones (Huawei P Smart 2018) and dual sim option isn't available.
From searching around it seems like you need to change the region (via paid service?) and then re-flash with a suitable firmware, but I'm along way from knowing exactly what all that entails.
Any input appreciated, thanks.
I've been scouring forums and google and here's some vague notes about what I think might need done:
1. Unlock bootloader. Requires code. Huawei used to supply this for free. Apparently they have been known to give it out via contact page. I've requested it, so we'll see. If not, dc-unlocker is a paid service which might be able to do this.
2. Install TWRP
3. Change phone region to C432 by flashing the correct oeminfo. I think this might also have to be a dual sim version.
4. Flash a C432 image.
HuRUpdater might be involved somewhere.
This post is for the P20 Lite but might also be useful for switching oeminfo: [Guide] Switching OEMINFO versions

Flashing stock firmware requires Odin ( PC app ).
As for errors flashing firmware it's a bit hard to say, have to take it case by case, but in general terms it's usually user error. In general flashing stock firmware shouldn't touch the protected area which holds the IMEI information.

Oh I see, is there a way I can turn my G955F into a dual sim? I've seen this done on the G955N, from hardware the G955F is the same as the FD and its only the firmware stopping it from working, I get a signal when a sim is in the 2nd slot but because the phone only have 1 IMEI it doesn't work, the FD has a sim manager which is on the F but not usable.

I have only very briefly looked at converting single sim to dual sim but haven't really gone into it so I probably won't be of much help. Biggest problem will be injecting a second IMEI slot to you phone to accept the second sim card. The firmware is the same but requires the second IMEI slot to get dual sim capabilities.
