Suppose in the case I bricked my phone and I don't know the baseband version of it. Now what is the option to recover? Flash stock firmware via Odin but don't know the baseband??? What will happens if I flash another country stock firmware?? Will the phone hard brick?? Or it will work fine?? Thank you
The worst case is that your sim card will not work with that software. This is only if your phone is carrier locked.
If it is unlocked, or neverlocked as others put it, then you can flash any firmware you like, as long as it is for your respective phone model.

You should flash Nepal firmware then. It would give you better (more match) CSC code. The CSC (Consumer Software Customization) code contains the info about software packages specific to a particular region, carrier branding and also APN (Access Point Name) settings for data connection.
In my case, my S4 i9500 was made in Vietnam and when I received it, it had a Thailand firmware on it. It is a network unlocked phone. I live in USA. The first lollipop firmware came out was for Russia. So I flahsed the Russian firmware. My CSC showed that it is a russian phone. I used that phone on AT&T network that available in USA, China and Korea, and I had no problem.
Nothing will happen.
@sway8966
Are you really to suggest him to flash Nepali firmware on UK phone? I'll unlock it (the carrier-lock) first and then flash other countries' firmware if need.

Sorry to bump this up but im having problems with my s6 edge (Maybe because of this).
I recently acquired a phone from a relative from UK. The OS is android 7.0 and the carrier is three.co.uk (H3G), we have reset the phone to its factory settings and accidentally didnt noticed that it do auto update on the OS, then this bootloops starts to occur.
The phone isnt network-locked because the phone can receive signals, messages and phone calls on local sim.
Now upon browsing around SamMobile, There is an available Firmware for this mobile and even the firmware which is available to Philippines but only ver. 6.0.1
Is this possible to use the PH one or still i go to UK(h3g)?
help please
once i take the firmware from other countries and then i install to my phone,
does my phone will going to operate that firmware even if it come from another country
because i tried to find firmware according to my respective country unfortunately i missed it.
so please i need your assistance ..please
Hello fellow S8 users,
I've recently purchased a Samsung S8 SM-G950FD from eBay as I wanted the Dual SIM capability. Version image attached, I'm not entirely sure where it's from.
Unfortunately the Samsung Pay version on the phone is in Chinese as are the promotion, images attached.
Can someone tell me if it's possible to get the Australian version on Samsung Pay on this phone?
Can I just update the ROM to an Australian version? If so, would I end up losing the Dual SIM capability?
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
Any suggestions?

Your Australia cards should work as Australia already have support for Samsung Pay. I have setup few of my Indian cards with Australian version phone. I guess you need to bear with the Chinese though. Updating XSA room will definitely disable the Dual sim option and I am not sure 950FD support 950F.

Yeh the Samsung Pay Application doesn't like my American Express Card....
It states that Amex is not supported in my country, but in fact it's working on my Samsung S6, and my Gear 3.
So you think changing the firmware to AU I would lose the Dual SIM capabilities?
It might just be easier to try and get the Samsung Pay and Samsung Pay Framework from AU ROM and extract it to mine maybe?
If it's anything like the S7, you should be fine putting the Australian firmware on it. I got an S7 edge from the UAE and had to flash German firmware and the T-Mobile CSC to it for spay to finally work. It'll be trail and error, but the multi sim function never went away for me.
Since almost all the international S8/S8+s are on the multi CSC ROM, all you need to do is reset your phone (preferably from the recovery menu) and put in the Oz SIM and reboot. All the regional features are activated, and you get Oz SPAY.
Using that method, I am currently using the India SPAY on an Afghanistan S8+ (Dual sim) and Taiwanese S8 and both work with all cards.

I've actually tried to restore to factory setting 6+ times with an assortment of sim cards from Vodafone, Optus, Telstra, Macquarie (Telstra variant), samsung pay keeps loading up as Taiwanese version (Chinese)...
I've recently asked a friend to extract his Samsung Pay & Framework.apk, it still loads Taiwan Samsung pay.
I think it's region locked?
I'm going to try and restore to XSA Firmware, apparently this worked for the S7 guys, whilst retaining Dual Sim functions.

Thank you! You've just reaffirmed what I actually just read in another forum, going to give it a try and will update my findings.

Did you try to factory reset from recovery? Vol up + Bixby + power, wait for few seconds it goes into recovery. Put the regional SIM in, then reboot. It will reboot twice and activate SIM specific features (prominently tells you that it's doing so).
Also please post a screenshot of the Settings->Software information screen (Service provide SW ver. is 2nd last row) both before and after you complete the process.
Someone recommended me this solution after I had a similar problem with my UAE S8 and flashing other country firmware no longer works without supporting SIM card. Download Samsung Pay version 2.7.03 and try that.

What do you mean flashing other country firmware no longer works without supporting SIM card ?

Means that it doesn't matter which firmware you flash if you don't have the country's sim card because s8 will default back to factory CSC. Only way to change CSC without root is to flash with the supporting sim card installed.

Just came across this post. Wondering if the same method works with the dual sim version of S7 (G930FD)?
Thanks.

Has anyone here got the Australian Samsung Pay app onto the Taiwanese dual-sim model? I purchased an S8+ at $799 (compared to the RRP of $1349) but I don't want to factory reset if I don't have to.
Anyone got spay working? Pkease share what firmware version are you using.
Hi,
My apologies if this is an obvious question but I'm a new Galaxy S8 user and I've gone through these forums extensively before giving up and making this post
I had someone bring along a Samsung Galaxy S8 from the US to India, and it seems to be working like charm. They ordered it online and picked up the unlocked international variant (SM-G950F)
In the Service Provider Software I see 'INS/INS/TPA'. I assume INS/INS was set because I popped in an Indian sim. TPA seems to be Panama?
Now I check my software updates and I'm stuck on the May Security Patch and there really aren't any updates for this firmware.
I want to switch to an Indian firmware but on updato and sammobile, only the SM-950FD is available for India as only the dual sim variant is sold in India
I want to flash a firmware with the latest update and also receive future OTA updates but I'm not sure which firmware to flash.
Is there no solution for me?
i can tell you only this: had bought a Dual Sim S8 in Germany, the phone was originaly from Egypt. (DBT/DBT/EGY), and received OTA's.
*but the battery life was horible

Haha but I have not received a single OTA update. Maybe I missed one because it was set to auto but I'm still on the May security patch

Install Phone info app from google play and open the app it will show you all hardware and software information of your phone. See the CSC code and find your software according to your region.
You can flash FD firmware, it is the same.
You have dual sim model G950FD or single sim G950F
check hardware to remove sim and card socket and see the card socket is hybrid or not.

It doesn't matter what FW you install, you can never change it to INS as TPA is hardwired to your phone.
It should change to INS/INS/TPA. People commenting should understand that F/FD doesn't matter, as the software is the same. It's discussed here MANY times.
EDIT: last csc being TPA doesn't matter

Please check your back panel of your phone. The model no. Is written over there. If you want to update your phone to latest firmware its so easy. Find your model no. Is F/ FD download any firmware of any region you like and flash through Odin. Flash all 4 files with home csc.
I think your main issue is latest firmware not csc because your phone is Sim unlocked. You can use any sim card of any country in your phone.
As the title says, I live in the US but bought a sm-g950fd from Pakistan while I was there. Software information tab is attached below.
How do I get to run spay in the US?
I have read a few threads about this but haven't found a definite answer. From my understanding I need to:
Backup and factory reset
Install UAE (XSG) firmware through Odin
Uninstall stock spay app and install the US one from apkmirror
Is this the correct way to enable Spay? How risky is it to flash the firmware? Will I lose OTA updates? My phone isn't rooted yet.
And in Odin, which file do i select in CSC. The one starting with Home_csc, or just csc ?
Here's what I did and got it working for me

Can I ask do you roam in the US with an international provider, or do you live here and have a US cellular provider?

I live in the US. The only way I was able to change the region is by using the method I linked. I literally everything before that, flashing different versions etc, but only by changing the Sim card did it work. Paid about 10 USD to have the Sim shipped to me. It's been a while since I did it so I don't remember the specifics, but my link is pretty detailed

Yeah, your method is very good. Any specific network to look for? And should I flash the latest firmware or a little older one?
So I managed to get an indian sim from a friend and installed the indian firmware. What happened is that my phone's CSC has changed, but it has changed to Italy (ITV). And apparently, Italy only has the single sim variant so I didnt get update to oreo as well :/
What should i do? get a sim card from another country and do the process over again? or just manually install the indian 8.0 firmware?
Samsung pay seems to work fine though
Im coming from a S9+. Its been two years since i played around with flashing Fw etc so my memory is a bit hazy.
Short question. If were to put a USA sim card in my Canadian S20+. Will that cause a factory reset? Or does the canadian fw does not have the CSC files for the US carriers so it should continue to function as is, but potentially with missing features for the US carrier? Does that sound about right?
Thank you
It will work just fine, if the device is carrier unlocked. I have an unlocked G981W from Bell, and an ATT sim worked no problem. No device reset etc required.
Also have tried a Rogers and a SaskTel sim without issues .
Cool thanks.
