I think I finally kill my phone - Huawei P9 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi there!
I have a p9 lite ds vns-l21. I have succesfully install nougat (c432b336) on it but I want to upgrade to the latest n build. Updater app doesn't show any downloadable version says that I already on latest firmware. So I find a thread to make it work by install c185 oeminfo and firmware c185b360. I succesfully manage to install it, but I want to go back to c432 oeminfo and than istall c432b370 or b380. After install oeminfo c432 I can't install b370 so decided to start from original firmware so put update.app on sd card (b130), it install as it should and when it reaches 100% it goes to black screen. I waiting for it to boot up, but it isn't.
The device doesn't react any button press. It's not boot (long press power), not enter recovery (Vol up + power), no fastboot (Vol dwn + power) and no 3 button method.
I try to charge it, but its completly unresponsive.
Any ideas guys?

You cooked your motherboard.
Can i have a slice too?

Let the phone charge for a night and see what happens

Thanks for trying to help!
I left it on chaeger over the night but at morning it won't turn on.
I try another method from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...hed-black-screen-bip-green-t3485836?nocache=1
but linux doesn't see my device too, so I will use my warranty (this device is only 6 month old) and see what will happen.
cheers

Hi,
Same problem here. how did you finally solved it ?

What's your build number what version of supersu did you try to flash?
Shutdown your device, put your current build onto 'dload' folder in the sdcard and press the following key combo: POWER, VOL-UP & VOL-DOWN, it should enable automatic update process

Shut it down amd press those 3 keys combo.. upon seeing Huawei Logo and vibration, release the Power key while holding the other 2... That ought to do it
Man, your phone is badly bricked. If you don't have at least access to fastboot, then you're screwed.
Good for me to I have the same problem. I was trying to get to stock ( I have made it several times), but the last time was a fail... The whole process of sending firmware was ok. then a reboot and brick.
Now the huawei screen and the short vibration appears and shutdown.
I was trying everything.
In device manager the phone is displayed as mobile devices \ volume f:\ (drive letter)
in connected devices the phone is detected as
hi6210sft
Phone is not detected in fastboot or ADB.
I met this problem yesterday(I hope the identical ). Because I have two booting animations, one from Vodafone, I guess I shutdown early during installation. It just froze. Then it didn't boot and stock recovery didn't help
My solution needs some recovery software like twrp. Press three buttons at the same time until twrp mode. Copy zip file for SuperSU to phone or sdcard, then flash it. After that my phone works again.
You mentioned that you cannot start recovery. Try more. After installing twrp, starting it is quite annoying. Sometimes it just doesn't start or stock recovery starts. An alternative way is to go to whatever mode, and try adb or fast boot to reboot to recovery. Pressing button requires techniques which j don't have
I can't enter TWRP non combination is working for me. Installing firmware using dload from sd card also.
okay if non of these worked you can try flashing the whole update.app file by fastboot..
tools you will need
1- download the official huawei firmware from the official site
2- download Huawei Update Extractor
3- download minimal adb and fastboot
check the unbricking chapter of this thread
Note: to get in fastboot make sure you connected your phone to computer and press the vol down and power down buttons.. if none of these worked your phone is hard bricked .-. .. try opening the phone and reconnecting the battery worked with someone
if you need any help just pm me or replay on this thread hope that help you
Ok thx. I have already opened the phone to reconnect the battery
And then I was trying the combinations;
Battery connected vol- +power - Huawei logo and vibration and shutdown, no fastboot
Battery disconnected, vol-+power and connecting cable to phone - the same
Battery disconnected combination vol + vol - + ppwer, with sd card dload, the same
Battery connected combination vol + vol - power, sd card dload, the same
Any other suggestions?
The phone is recognized in Windows in device manager as mobile device as volume with a letter, I cant change the drivers to the right ones. I can't enter the storage it's unrecognized format.
Any other suggestions?

it is easy to suggest others.. I too advised you.. but today i am facing the same problem...
what I tried:
Reinstalling the same ROM using dload method
Upgrading to other ROM (using both dload and flashing 4 image method)
Downgrading
Restoring from the backup
At one point, the phone booted up all well except the Wifi Module... So I flashed another ROM and stuck again...
the worst thing that I don't have any connection to fastboot Each firmware installation method fails

yes, mine too... or I could say flashing succeeds but there's some problem with the boot partition... will get my phone today from the Customer Care and try again (if they can't repair).
you can try removing the back cover and unplugging the battery... that is one of the few things I will do today as I get my phone back..

ok made it back.. just flashed the boot.img from b594 (the one I was using when my mobile got bricked)... somehow made it back. But now I am having a problem with the battery. It doesn't charge when the device is switched on, only when the device is switched off... will see for few days, if there's problem will take it back to service centre again
I have already removed back cover and was trying to reconnect the battery to do clear run. But the only thing is discovered in windows is a driver for storage and I can't change the driver to ADB or FASTBOOT
Now I have connected phone w PC on adb devices I see only emulator-5554 device. In Device manager I see the storage as a Mobile Device.
Nope it was Bluestacks

Switch off your device and then connect it to PC but just hold the volume- key.. that should get you in fastboot mode... I did that and then flashed the boot.img of the current ROM. This should boot it up...
Nope it doesn't work I was trying it already

OTA issue - bootloop

My wifes Huawei P9 Lite seemed to have an OTA update and for some reason it has failed to install. I'm not sure if the OTA was from a while a go and she just ignored it.
It is now stuck in a bootloop on the screen:
"Software install failed!"
The only option is to reboot system now. This just repeats the process, I can't seem to turn the phone off at all by holding the power button. And if I try holding power and Volume down or up after a reboot nothing happens and it goes back to the screen when it tries to install the software, and fails.
This phone is not rooted or anything like that, I think it was on Marshmallow. Bootloader still locked.
What can I do to fix this?
So, heres a guide to recover:
1. Go to huwaeifirmware.com and search your Device.
2. take a SD card. Create in the root of it an dload folder
3.put in the dload folder the UPDATE.APP
4.When turning on, hold the POWER + Vol DOWN + Vol UP
5.Let the "Update" finish.
DONE
If that doesnt work, try go to recovery mode and wipe data.
Have a nice day!
PS: I live in Germany. Thats why my english is so bad.

Voice recognition instead of keyboard after hard reset on p9 lite

Hi all,
First I installed nougat via firmware search (or finder) app. After that I did hard reset and when it prompted me to login to google account I don't get keyboard popup but "Tap to speak" instead.
There is no way to switch it.
Erecovery didn't help because it says something like versions are not the same (I can check it again for real message if needed).
I also tried with recovering from sd card (download firmware to dload folder and then vol +, vol -, power button) and got "incompatible version" or smth similar.
Did anyone have this issue and if did, is there a solution?
Thank you
I never heard of such a problem... That is really strange.
Your best bet is to find a firmware that is flashable via three button method and look if the problem got solved.
If it does not work for whatever reason...
Unlock your bootloader and install TWRP.
Then you can maybe reflash GApps and see if it solves your keyboard issue.
The second method requires a BL unlock code though (not sure if you have it).

Thank you. I'll try wit several firmwares and then flash.
I am just informing that I tried with multiple firmwares and they all failed.
Next is flash.
Had the same problem, skipped connection with my wifi, did the setup and voice search Google keyboard, install it and then connect to my wi-fi via keyboard, did the roll back from Nougat to Marshmallow by flashing b300 update via 3 button method, download stock firmware also flash via 3 button method, that roll back also relocked my bootloader, my device is VNS-L31C185

P8 stuck at boot

Hi to everyone ^^
I have here a P8, stuck on boot with the "TIM" logo (operator). I can't even shutdown it.
Is not mine and I still need to know more information about which firmware it had before get this sort of brick, anyway...
I can't enter in recovery (Power-vol+)
I can't enter in EMUI mode ( Power- Vol+ - Vol -)
....BUT I can enter in fastboot&rescue mode.
I've already unlocked the bootloader and I can flash everything....but still, I can't get access to the recovery or EMUI mode T___T
Does exist a "Generic" firmware that works for unbrick this phone?
Do you have any suggest or link for some Recovery/Boot/Cust file?
Thanks in advance for any answers.

Already tried.
This is the result...The device doesn't support system recovery.
Sorry for the multi-post T__T
Anyway this is my situation...I can just use the fastboot, or see the "Bootlogo" for the rest of my life......(or battery )
Have you tried a forced update by placing a full ROM named "Update.app" in a folder called "DLOAD" on the external SD card and then pressing and holding all three buttons ?
Yep, already done...
No response.
SD ready, power on the phone holding all three buttons, but nothing to do... it just start normally and get stuck on logo. =(

$25 Paypal TO *YOU* for fixing VKY-L29 boot issues / possibly brick

Hey guys,
A friend of mine handed me a phone I used a few years ago - a Huawei P10+. The problem is, it won't boot. A friend offered a small bounty - so I thought I'd extend that small bounty to people here for immediate assistance. If you take Paypal, there $25 USD up for grabs if your links/instructions and assistance lead to unbricking - correct booting of the phone....
WHAT WE KNOW:
- VKY-L29 dual sim phone
- Previously been successfully rooted and was functioning fine
- Previous User may have tried wiping EVERYTHING (unsuccessfully, obviously) for re-installation of stock ROM
THE PROBLEM:
The phone displays the white/orange text screen, stating "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted. To learn more visit: http://zh.ui.vmall.com/emotiondownload.php?mod=restore
(1) Press power to continue .... nothing happens when pressed
(2) Press volume up for 3 secs to enter ERecovery to restore your device ... this works, but CANNOT download, or fails to download package over WIFI (only other options are to shutdown/reboot)
(3) Your device will continue to boot 5 seconds later if no operation ... nothing happens, it just hangs on this screen - even when prompt shows "Your device is rebooting now"
It doesn't matter if this stays rooted or not, we just need to successfully reinstall the STOCK ROM and booting/functioning normally.
Any assistance is appreciated.

Try downloading an older firmware extract the contents of the .app file using huawei firmware extractor and flash system.img recovery_ramdisk.img oeminfo.img product.img and vendor.img using fastboot and if the phone boots up just update it to a newer firmware, that's how i did it to my P10 Plus, it didn't wanna download via eRecovery too, sorry for the misunderstanding i forgot that it doesn't wanna download for you, i don't have the device with me now because i broke my display (again) so it's getting fixed but it won't be done untill saturday, i'll upload the firmware i used so that you can try too.
if the bootloader is unlocked flash twrp using the command: fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk "path to TWRP.img"
after flashing type: fastboot reboot and immediately start pressing the Volume Up and power button untill the HUAWEI logo shows up, after booting to TWRP flash oeminfo.img using the install option in TWRP, after that reboot and try downloading the firmware using eRecovery again, hopefully this time it will let you download it.

Dude pls wait don't try this i found another way, i bricked my phone accidentally today and i found a way, gonna take me some time to explain but i'll try my best.
So first of all download this firmware here extract it on your pc and boot to bootloader and flash TWRP_kirin.img to recovery_ramdisk, after that reboot the phone and boot in recovery via holding the volume up and power button, when in TWRP copy the dload folder from the firmware you extracted on your pc to your phone after that copy the RECOVERY8_NoCheck.img to your phone and flash it as recovery ramdisk via the install option in TWRP, power off your phone and press and hold the volume buttons and the power button and wait for it to boot and let it install the update, i really hope this helps you, it helped me after struggling with it all day long.
Hi Lester, it's been an eternity since I was online here as I put this on the back-burner with more pressing work and family priorities. Thank you very much for providing the files. I noticed the ROM firmware is EU, when i am outside of EU....but shouldn't be too big of a problem.... I am getting around to doing all of this now, I have downloaded the files. When are you typically online to chat about this?
RoOSTA
It cannot boot into TWRP, only the eRecovery. No option to flash anything on SD card, other than connecting to WIFI...
Hii roosta,
I might have some problem with you, let me facing your thread , I 'like to learn too how to make my P1o plus back to normal again, it's being long time for me to bring this up...
