Its normal IRIS cant read info on ur face cos sunlight burn the image as there is no pixel in that area so it cant reconize you... like when u take a photo with flash and it makes whits spots in ur face ( burned image ) thats why it works better in lower light .. evene in zero light condition it unlocks my phone....

Light sensor and screen protector question.

Hello,
I just bought a samsung note 10.1, and for now I just put on a makeshift screen protector which is covering both the camera and the light sensor. This is just until I can buy on to fit it. Anyway my question is, it seems like the auto brightness isn't working or working well. I have it on and the screen seems very dark, and I don't have the power settings on either. Would the screen protector covering the light sensor cause this?? or is there some other kind of issue?
Thanks all.
I can't recall how the auto brightness worked before I installed a screen protector so I can't comment on its direct impact but I wouldn't think it should matter. I do find th auto brightness a bit too dark in almost all situations and I think that is a Note 10.1 issue in general.
I just did some test in varying light conditions and the sensor was quick to respond and went quite bright when I was in a very bright room. I just think it over compensates in dark situations.

Thanks for the reply. I am sure it's ok, but it's been awhile since I had a android tab, so I wasn't sure.

One more question. Do you slide the slider for brightness all the way to the right then click on auto? I heard some say you put the slider all the way to the right, then click on the auto brightness, and that it wont clock lower then the max or something?

Performance of Iris Scanner on Samsung Galaxy S8+

The guy that did the unboxing last week of S8+ has made a video today of the Iris Scanner.
I can't say I'm impressed to be honest.
Any of you guys experience similar performance?
Video is here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWddaRZ4-dY
Better than the Note7!
Of course in direct sunlight it's going to struggle.
That IR LED looks quite powerful so no problem in room light and dark.
The only area where the Iris Scanner seems to take a second or two for me so far is sunlight when it is right behind me (in front of me is fine).
Dark room/indoors is instant if aligned.

s7 edge brightness problem

Hey I have s7 edge g935f .. with the exynos.. as the most of you know the s7 edge has a big problem with the screen . It adjust auto without the auto enable . . While watching videos on bs player or mx player I have been notice that the screen brightness change itself . I had the same problem with s6 edge .. can please someone tell me how to fix thiss problem? It's very disturbed ..... nougat 7.0 stock. No rooted . Stock kernel.
Edit:I should mention that when the phone is on dark place or a place with many lights the screen do the same thing. The screen adjust change auto. So maybe it's a sensor I don't know
I give you a hint. It is under the Advanced features. Not a problem but a feature.

As I write above it's already off the auto brightness.
Can someone help me or I have to throw the phone on the garbages?
Someone please . .
Things to try:
1. Go to Settings->Advanced Features->Video Enhancer and turn it OFF.
2.Open MX Player->tap 3 dots in upper right corner->Settings->Player->Screen->tick off the Brightness checkbox
Try these two solutions and report back!
Good luck

No man. I think the prpblem is a sensor . But i heard all the s7 edge users have the same issue as me . What about you?
Man if something covers the sensors which are on the camera at the left, the brightness auto change itself .... also if i go in a darj place then the same thing. Or if i go in a place which have a lot of sun or light. THATS WHY I HATEEE this phone.. i paid 500 euros for it and i dont believe its happening
Well i found the issue but i dont know how to fix it. Well i download a sensor test app from google play that lets you test the sensor . I went to the light sensor and put my finger on the top of the phone where is the selife camera and i realise that when the auto brightness is off the screen is dim, and the sensor shows 0.0. When i change off the auto brightness and put my finger on the sensor the same thing happens. So its a problem from the sensor not a feature or settings. What i mean, i mean that when rhe auto brightness is off then the screen brightness change itself LIKE WHEN YOU CHOOSE ON THE AUTO BRIGHTNESS. Well i dont have any other option from put this s.hit phone on street so a car can break it. I dont belive itttttt
Any way to fix this annoying bug ?
I have the same issue, Samsung is ****, I'm switching to Apple
Hey Guys, This problem is also on the S8 and Note 8... I tried it in the stores
Don't Buy Samsung products, You'll end up dissappointed
Their Auto Brightness is a joke, It works when it's off too, And you can't turn it off
They don't want you to use high brightness because then their screens will have burn in quickly because they are cheap
and their batteries won't last too much
Oh wait.. And the SIM tray is Plastic haha, It broke and my sim card got stuck inside
Are you kidding me Samsung, This expensive phone has a Plastic SIM tray?
You must learn from Apple, They use Metal SIM Trays since 2010 or so.

Agreed , plastic sim tray , auto brightness bug, color peeling of around the usb ports. There are signs of sub standard built quality. But tell me honestly which other android phone has the best premium build quality without any issues. And apple , although fast and better build, its so much closed and limited OS, and pay for everything policy, forces oneself to choose android, and i wont say that others like lg, sony, huawei, oppo and htc etc have bad build quality, but they are neither good nor bad then samsung, all have their own downsides , because nothing is perfect, and to stick with what you have until it gets the job done is the best lifestyle. Good day !

Any way to use the iris scanner as a night camera ?

When I try to unlock my phone using the iris scanner in the dark, I can see my face on the camera, even if I'm in the dark.
So here is my question : is there any way to create an app who uses the iris scanner and turn it into an infra-red camera able to see in the dark ?
Night porn original what ??
Gesendet von meinem SM-G950F mit Tapatalk
it wouldn't have enough power
just consider this infra red beam it emits as a torch. but the light is invisible to our eye..
this is gonna be a seriously small, dim 'torch'
then that light has to hit the object, reflect, lose way more of that original (lack of) brightness, and the probably standard ish sensor wouldn't be that sensitive and probably wouldn't pick up much if any of it (unless it was right in front of it, such as our face)
Aside from this particular use, is there a way to access this camera at all or is it shielded behind some unbreakable Knox thing?

Can i remove the light of the fingerprint?

I want to remove the light of the fingerprint. I was reading that burn the amoled screens in OnePlus and i hate that light.
How i can remove it.
I know u can´t remove it with the rom, so i image that i need a mod.
Thanks.
You can't remove the light. The reason is that the in-display fingerprint scanner is an optical one. This means that behind the screen there is a very small camera that takes photos of your fingerprint. In order to do that it needs light, hence the illumination you see. You shouldn't worry about it. It lights only for a fraction of second which isn't enough to cause a burn in. Xiaomi's engineers have thought of that.
