Hi guys!
I've had the s6 edge for a few months now. First android phone in years, and last week, it suddenly stopped fast charging. It will now only "Cable Charge" which is a pain. Now it takes like 5 hours to fully charge.
I've rebooted the phone, as this was suggested and it seemed to fix the problem for a few days, but it's gone back to cable charging again.
Anyone any experience of this or ideas on how to sort it?
TIA,
Chrissie.
This happened to me twice already. Try it with a new USB cable this was my issue both times. Let me know if that's your issue.

Well I had with my old phone the same problem but I recognized that there was some dirt in the charging port of the phone.
I removed this with my nail and it worked again.
Probably it won't help you but you'll never know
Try connecting the charge cable to a USB port on your computer for a few hours. You may not see anything right away but eventually the phone will begin to charge.
i got this issue few days back..the charging was slow..cant even reach 100 when im on the phone..its pathetic..swap with my old lg phone model cable bam!the old cable built was much rugged compared to nexus 4..
I have exactly the same problem - when it ran out of power today, it switched itself off normally, and then when I inserted the cable, it didn't charge. not even the battery animation thing came up!
I hope somebody can find a solution.
Oh yeah, and I checked in the port for dust, and used countless alternate wires and power adapters

When you run the battery all the way down it takes a while to start a charge. Just leave it plugged in for a while and it'll go. I'm not sure if it does this every time because I don't drain my phone to 0% but it has happened before on my old phone and I've seen it happen to iphones as well.
Same problem

Did you ever find a solution or send the phone in to LG? I'm having this exact problem right now. I've tried three different micro USB wall chargers for hours at a time as well as charging it through the USB port on my computer. I get absolutely no charge and I have never had any problems at all until last night when it simply would not charge.

Try pressing the power button and immediately the low volume, wait like 3 to 5 seconds and it'll restarts. Not the first time this happens to me and wish to know what's going on! don't know if there's an app that's doing this or hardware issue...
Try cleaning the port like mentioned. There's videos in YouTube

ahh this problem...i had the exact same problem with my gnex...its just that the metal plate of the micro usb port of your phone has bent down a bit which is why it doesnt charge...the easiest way to fix that is to take something flat and lift the metal plate gently..not too much otherwise you'll break it...just lift it up slightly and it should charge normally then...Hopefully :fingers-crossed:
Hi. I had my Note 4 for about 1 week now. At first fast charging was fine. After 1 week i started to have this problem that goes like this.
I would plug the phone to the charger then a notification turns up to say fast charging is enabled. Then it would stop charging after 3 seconds, then charge again, then stop after 3 seconds. Happens for about 5 times after plugging in the charger. After that, charging is fine.
Do you guys experience the same? What do I do? Will it break the phone? What could be the problem? Thanks guys.

thats abnormal, try disable fast charging on settings>battery
Connectivity problem man, loose connection somewhere. Try with a new USB cable, if that doesn't solve it, try a new power adapter.
Hi Everyone,
I have a Note 4 I bought a year ago whenever it came out..
Just a day ago it completely switched off and died, I could start it but it would switch off a few minutes later.
I have an issue of it charging, I have used different chargers, cables etc. but no hope it just won't charge and the LED light won't light up anymore when plugged in. I even used a powerbank but no use at all.
Can someone help me and tell me what to do with it ?
I was having battery issues for the last one month with it switching off at about 15-20 %
Is it a issue with the micro USB port or is it a battery issue? If it is a battery issue wouldn't it have atleast showed me it was charging? I hope I didn't burn off the port or something
Mine did the same thing. Dead Motherboard.
Got it replaced on my warranty.
This seems like a hardware issue.
It might be your battery. I would try to use another battery first.
today my op5 stopped charging after dying down in the morning (atleast thats what i'm expecting)
first i thought maybe its charger issue or socket issue but after checking them to be OK i thought maybe charging port of mobile is out
but just atm i connected my phone to computer to saw that its actually connecting to my computer showing
"qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008 com 5 connected"
Can anyone point out whats the issue exactly to my phone
at the same time i requested for a repair up also through their official website but still couldnt be able to figure out if its hardware issue or software
I have the same issue intermittently. Originally cleaning the port seemed to fix the problem then it came back. Sometimes it wouldn't charge at all, other times it would slow charge but not fast charge. Now it's back to fast charging as long as the cord isn't stressed. I ordered a charging port and if I can get the damn thing open I'll replace it and the battery.

Thanks mate ..good to know I'm not only one
I already requested for a repair if the problem is regarding Charging port and battery then I guess it won't be a huge setback on my wallet (<$100)
But now If I think about it..yeah I do face minor issue when charging ..sometimes it don't straight away do fast charge or so and stick to basic charge and then after some time it goes to its fast charge
Sounds like it's very similar to my issue. My phone is about 16 months old and out of warranty. My battery shows 82% health. Was as low as 81 percent but it went back up a percent. Lol.
One morning it died overnight which never happens. I believe I went to bed with between 30+40 percent and usually plug in when my alarm goes off in the morning and it's charged by the time I hit snooze the third time. This time something must have drained the battery. It only happened once and never again. It usually takes a long time to drain the last 1/3 of the battery and it doesn't drain much overnight when it's low.
The charging port I can understand having an issue because I work in the woods and it gets gunk in the port from my work vest (bits of tree branches etc). I had to clean it several times and it fixed charging issues then but not lately. I wanted to buy a replacement battery while they were still easily available and not very old. Now I'm not too rushed to fix it because it's been charging okay again recently and the battery is still almost impossible for me to kill in a day despite being at 82% health. That and I couldn't get the screen off with the suction cups I have.
Tried to print some pictures from my phone at Walmart today from my phone and it wouldn't connect via their usb c cable. I guess it's time to fix it sooner than later. Last time I had to transfer pics was for work onto the server at work. It worked but I had to keep from moving the phone at all or it would disconnect.

Hey Guys! I am facing charging issue on my galaxy s10+. It was charging fine till yesterday.
i was away from home and forgot to pack up my charger and unfortunately i ran of battery and the phone died on me. After a while a friend on mine booted the phone up and it was showing 0% battery and it powered off again. so after reaching home it isn't picking up charge via data cable but it is charging wirelessly.
i've tried to charge it into safe mood, while turned off and after force restarting it. any help would be highly appreciated.
P.S: I updated the phone yesterday to the latest version

If it's charging wirelessly but not by cable, I'm guessing it's a bad cable or bad USB port. I'd try some other cables / charging plug.

It's the USB port. My cousin has a note 5 doing the same thing. When charging with USB..be careful not to let it drop or sitting on it by accident, etc. Those things are so flimsy. You'll have to go to a phone repair store or see if warranty will fix it.

Am curious about that USB port repair, according to a S10 tear down I saw somewhere, that port is not repairable by itself anymore, it's an integrated board component now.

There is a thread or two about this on the note 8 or note 9 forums about the device not charging after it had reached zero percent. There was some sort of fix for it which I dont remember.

My cousin also has to use wireless charging to charge his note 5. Your S10 plus should be under warranty. See if you can contact Samsung for them to do the repairs.
