Hi
Have you had any luck with this cause even i am having a problem with my camera and was looking for the original camera.apk
Thanks in advance.
I have problems with my camera, caused by erase e-mail apk... I restore my rom and solve it
I had the force close, too. I noticed that I was able to open the settings window after switching to video (screen still black). Under quality, chose the second option from above (label "High"). With this setting, the black screen vanishes and the actual picture is shown.

[Q] Camera auto-rotating some pictures, how do i fix it?

Using stock android on my Galaxy Note 3, the camera app is rotating pictures that i do not want it to.
The best example i can give is the following:
The two pictures here are screenshots of them in the gallery. They are the exact same picture, one taken a little bit closer to the page than the other one, yet one of them was rotated in landscape mode.
Picture 1 is how i want the pictures to turn out (fill the screen)
Picture 2 is how i do not want them to turn up (so much black on the screen)
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Dion.

I probably should have said i tried with auto rotate off and auto rotate on.
It makes no difference, it seems like the camera does it at random.

Perhaps using a different camera app? Camera FV-5 is a daily driver for me.

GS5 camera app + Hangouts for MMS problem

So something I've noticed is that when using Hangouts for MMS and I try to take and send a portrait shot photo with the stock Samsung camera app.....it appears to work fine on my end...but everyone ends up receiving a photo that has been rotated 90 degrees left. Only seems to do this with the stock camera app - if I switch to using Vignette for the camera app - portrait shots are sent correctly.
Landscape shots work either way regardless....
anyone else experienced this? I'm guessing its a problem with the stock camera app (be it code or a setting or something I'm missing)

Shutter sound in stock messages app

I've switched back to the stock messaging app for better use of my gear s2. I've found that even though the shutter sound is turned off in the camera app, that damn shutter sound still goes off when using the stock messages app to take a pic within a text message. I couldn't find any setting within the message app to disable that, so i'm here seeking help.
Even when your phone is on vibrate/silent?

How do I disable max brightness in stock camera app?

Whenever I open the stock camera app, screen brightness is automatically set to maximum. I get that it's a feature some people like to take better photos but there should be an option to disable it. Other camera apps have this option but lack EIS or portrait mode. Would really like to use the stock app but this one issue is very annoying. Any help?
To enable EIS , click the given link

If you feel that the camera is really important then you can explore XDA for enabling google camera on phone .
The automatic is a default configuration in the phone and you cant do anything for that . Its actually useful because sometimes the display is visible during bright sunlight . Or else install the Nokia camera port on the phone. It will also give the extra PiP feature
