Recovery for SM G530P and fixing play store HELP - Galaxy Grand Prime Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently installed a TWRP i found from a google search labeled with my exact device details but after install it led to a bootloop, which I fixed by reflash of the kernel (TrapKernel by Chainfire). I have no copy of any recovery to flash and cannot do anything that requires custom recovery (which is virtually eveerything useful)
If anyone knows how to install ANY WORKING CUSTOM RECOVERY ON THE SM G530P, please instruct me or direct me to a link that showshow to do this.
Also I at one point read something about "Building TWRP" for your model but I don't know if or how this is possible. If you know anything about this PLEASE shoot me a message or respond on this post. Any help is greatly appreciated as I have no recovery (not even stock). I do Not want to perform a factory reset since there is no backup and it as a huge hassle.
PLAY STORE
I tried using lucky patcher to install Modded Google Play Store but it uninstalled the app completely. I reinstalled play store online but now when I hit download it stays stuck at downloading...Again any help appreciated. Thank you an advance

Reinstall the stock rom and you will have stock recovery at least. You can acquire this at sammobile.com. Then retry a custom recovery...

What is the best method to install TWRP without it replacing with the stock recovery?
*I am currently running complete stock but have voided the warranty where it says 0x1 on the "WARRANTY VOID" section in download mode. If anyone knows a good kernel, ROM, etc for this device from experience please let me know in the comments so I can look into it. I am really wanting to root and try out a new ROM.

[Help] Recovery is gone after update

Hi folks, I seek the advice of any one who could help me with issue. To give you a bit of background information, I have a D802 version which is rooted with CloudyStock 1.1, android 4.4.2 KK.
Yesterday I tried to update the version of Philz recovery that I had which has never been a problem before. I downloaded the latest version from the dedicated page here and went into the recovery to install the zip.
Whilst the zip was extracted without issue there was an error regarding "lokifying" the boot loader. I turned the phone off and tried to get in the recovery again but this time I had the error "secure booting: boot certification verify".
I never had any problem before, I don't know why the latest version of the recovery would create more problem that the old one.
The thing is that the phone works fine, it boots and runs without issue, I just can't get into recovery mode. Also the download mode works.
I'm sure they must be a way to get the recovery back. I tried to flash CMW with Rom Manager without success.
If anyone knows, I would appreciate the help greatly.
Cheers
considering kitkat has no root yet, getting a recovery on it is going to be difficult.
you will need a via zip flashable distro of kitkat. Which if you search you can make yourself. It was on xda portal some time ago.
That way I think root\recovery is maintained.

Thank you for your answer Bachera. I am not sure I understand what you mean by "via zip flashable distro of kitkat."
Plus my kitkat version of android is rooted, why would you think kitkat has no root yet?

I encountered something similar on my phone. However, i was on 4.2.2 but this worked for me. Give it a shot, it might work for you too

Good luck
Try Flashify from the Play store to flash a working recovery for your phone. I had the same issue with philz latest version. I had to use an older version of philz to get it to work on my phone.

Yeah I misread, I thought you went to a official kitkat. Only way to get root on kitkat is if lucky its maintained with a ota update. or a special made kitkat, thats what I mean with special distribution (distro) one via recovery flashable.
kitkat rooting directly at the moment of writing is not possible due to lg bootloader.

Thank you all for the help and suggestions. I tried flashify and I did not work.
However freegee worked very well and managed to go back to CMW.
All functional now!
Thanks

Recovery Broken

Hey guys,
I have a Rogers p705G. I tried flashing a recovery. However I accidentally flashed one for L3. Now when I go into recovery the graphics is completely messed up and I cant read anything. Before this I flashed Kitkat Prime. For some reason I have lost root. I am trying to reinstall a proper recovery for the L7 so I can properly flash another rom or go to stock. Can anyone please help me with this? Thanks.

Hmm... I think I'd tried a hard reset with the hardware buttoms, if not I'd tried to install a stock room in download mode. Then, you can try it (root, recovery, flashing) again.

download cwm for your device place it on your internal sdcard and download flashify apk from google play or any other marker you may be using. And flash the recovery from the app.

[CLOSED] Note 3 stuck in bootloop after installing TWRP Recovery

Hi, first of all, I'm new to all this so I'm not sure what I'm doing and I don't know much about technical terms.
All I wanted to do was to install CM12.1 ROM on my Note 3 Exynos. I was on stock Lollipop 5.0., rooted.
To start I had installed TWRP Recovery Manager from Google Play Store according to the instruction on the first page of the CM12.1 ROM thread. Then opening the app it asks me to install BusyBox (which I hit OK but nothing seems to be happening). Then on the very first screen I selected my phone model, then below I hit Install Recovery, which it did and report it was successful. Then it asks if I wanted to boot into recovery and I hit yes, and since then I have been stuck in a bootloop.
So I'm sure that I messed something up, but I'm not sure how to get out. I have searched through the forums and see multiple ways but I'm afraid to do anything in fear that I might damage the device any further. I am aware that one of the best solution is to flash the device back to stock ROM, however I have some data on this device that I want to keep, if that is possible.
Thank you very much for you help.
You recovery corrupted. Flash twrp with odin. If it doesn't work flash official firmware. You should not lost you data. Never use rom manger after this. It caused many cases of bootloop.

thank you very much. Flashing TWRP with Odin didn't work but as you said, flashing back to stock ROM still keeps my data. So thank you.
Try Philz Recovery .
problem solved. thanks guys. admin please delete thread.

Unable to install any rom with recovery.

I have a Note 3 N9005.
I installed the latest TWRP recovery.
No matter which rom I try to flash to the system, the same thing happens.
I see that the Aroma installer is strarting and than it just resets for no reason, no install made.
The only sulotion I have found so far is to install a 5.0 stock rom via Odin.
I want to install a custom rom 6.0.1.
Does anyone know what the hell?
Sae problem but a lil worse!!

I tried to do the same but ended up bricking my phone. So then I try to unbrick/unroot my phone by flashing the stock rom but I can't do that either cause now it says "Volume Size is too big 4620288<4718599. Need help!!!! ASAP!
Hey guys, I had the same problem at first and it freaked me out too.
Try installing the older 2.8.7.0 version for TWRP through the app, instead of the latest or any other after v3 for that matter. Apparently I've read from other forums that it's due to lack of Aroma Installer Support.
Hope this helps
Confirm the phone's model # by booting into download mode befor flashing TWRP or a stock ROM from sammobile.com.
Will try
I flashed the stock rom packege with odin.
saved my phone after brick.
so you are saying that by downgrading the TWRP recovery i can use aroma insatller based roms again?
cause i also tried to install reserection remix rom (I think this has no aroma in it), i got a massage that said that i cannot install it as well.
refuses to let me change into anything but stock rom.
rooting did not help at all.

To be honest I don't really know about Cyanogen Mod, however this was just my personal experience with Aroma Installer. I've tried DarkWolf_FW and Aryamod ROMs which are both S7 Edge Port ROMs, and they both use Aroma Installer.
- Also! Take the opportunity to make a Nandroid backup just in case the installation goes bad, then you can restore to where you are right now. Honestly downgrading just worked for me so please don't make me liable if anything goes to pot, at least you will have a full device backup to the exact point in your system which I have found extremely useful when trying different ROMs and Kernels.
tnks
don't worry man
1. I always backup the whole phone before ANY change.
2. your suggestion sound interesting, cause i tried the same rom's you did but no install was made.
3. i'll maybe try a different recovery... maybe CWM.

Hey, just randomly thinking, did you reset all your System, Data and Cache and Dalvik Cache files before you tried to install the ROMs? Sorry, this might not make a difference, but I don't think I have any more advice to give (I'm kinda new to this too ).
Hope CWM recovery goes well, let me know how it goes

Doing a complete backup before anything is always the safest bet.
From my experience, TWRP 3+ is fine for CM and AOSP based ROMs.
TWRP 2.8.7-0 is the one you should use to flash ROMs using AROMA Installer.
If you read the OP (opening post) on any ROM forum, it will usually include installation instructions and generally states which TWRP version should be used.
Good Luck.

I presume when you say it doesn't turn on you mean it doesn't boot into the Android environment. Have you tried unplugging the battery and pressing the Volume Up + Home + Power Button? Yes... I was surprised you don't have to be an octopus too..
Then restore the Nandroid backup from before.
You can also flash TWRP through Odin without root, have a look at the TWRP website for more info.

all you need is to flush new stock rom via Odin.
Search the web (like I did) to find a stock rom with 4 .tar files in it.
There should be instructions on how to install but usually all needs to be done is this:
1. load odin 3.*
2. enter the phone in download mode.
3. After you see the line 'add' in odin, load the .tar files to the correct place each (not hard they are tagged by same name)
4. Flush and pray.
5. After a successful install the phone will reboot, this will take a while so don't get streesed.
after about 10-15 min the phone will load again.
Root one more time via odin and try to install again.

Advice: Soft Brick G530A

I have a Samsung SM-G530A phone. I had a company install root and twrp, but I don't think it was done right. I tried to apply xposed (22 arm)and I soft bricked my phone into loading loop. I tried doing odin, but it fails when writing a recovery I found my mohan on the interweb.
Before I did this I used ChainFire and TWRP from the play store to create a backup.
I can't find this file to do a recover. Is there a way I can do that?
I saw this link that I can use a recovery image. xda forum link
Can I use that? I would like to just flash my phone back and then do TWRP the right way on the phone.
Any advice is appreciated.
May i have the link for twrp cos i can't install on my G530-H its running on stock 5.0.2. Thanks

I tried uninstall, but I was getting an error for the whole-file signature. So I also tried Odin and it was failing.
Is it possible to get another OS and flash the entire think to start from scratch or no.

Just use kies to restore to stock :good:
If it fails then download your whole firmware and flash via odin .
