Hi everyone,
I would like to know if you have the same "problem ". I've received a galaxy s8 last Friday. Everything was great except one. I've a noticed a potential image retention. For example, the (black) navbar remained on the screen for 3-5 second after closing an app. Or the black bar on the top (when apps aren't full screen) was noticeable also after closing. So I went to a store to see their galaxy s8 and s8+ and test it. The results was clear, their galaxy s8 had the same "problem" but not the s8+. So I decided to change my phone and get a new. Surprise, same thing... then I went to another store and their s8 also had this potential issue but not their s8+. So I've seen 4 galaxy s8 having this problem. My question is simple. Am I the only one ? Will it get worse ? Is it normal ? I don't think that my store is going to change my phone again. Keep in mind that this "image retention" is more noticeable on a blue or gray picture. Thanks for your answers.

Hi all ! I recently bought a Galaxy note and was really happy with it. But recently I was reading a mail in the inbuilt mail client (not gmail) and had the background color set as grey and I see a tiny white dead pixel in the bottom half of the screen. I then performed the screen test with the RGB colors from the service menu but in all three screens its not visible. Its visible only on grey backgrounds not even visible on black background. Can any body else test this and confirm !!!.
Instructions: Configure the mail client in the phone (if not already configured) and open any mail and set the background color to grey. Zoom the mail as far as possible so as to see only the background and not any mail text. and check the whole screen for any stuck pixels from a distance of about 5-7 inches.
Please Check the pic !!!
Hello,
Can you please take a picture by a camera or so, as i think it gonna be easier for people to help you and to see exactly what do you mean.
I ve added the PICTURE now !
I have the same. I was considering to return it but I see the pixel not often at all.
Only on certain background...
tried to use screen test...gray background but nothing...
can you still exchange it ? Just tell them it keeps rebooting when in the middle of calls...works fro me...
More user please comment?

Checked... slightly hue change on right side but no stuck or dead pixel...
Checked mine and don't have any dead pixels or tint/hue problems. Screen seems perfect so far *knocks on wood*. HK white version of the phone.
Check to make sure your dead white pixel doesn't move when you scroll the gray background. I saw something that I thought looked just like yours when I opened up Pandora for the first time because it has a gray background when your entering your login info but I noticed when I scrolled up and down the tiny white pixel was moving as well and was completely gone when I scrolled it off the screen.

Suggest you return it. It should have at least one year's worth of Samsung warranty and depending on how you bought the phone (outright or through a carrier contract) they might be more generous as well.
And also mention that you bought this device for the screen and have a sharp eye for screen defects (because you are creative with the S-Pen? Hah!) and they may be more willing to offer an exchange or repair.
By the way it may also depend on which country you're in...
I got such a problem either. My phone had one dead pixel which is always black. And that happaned almost in 10 days after I've bought it.
I know it has 2 years of factory warranty and contacted with service. One of the technicians are a friend of mine and he told us not to give it to the service for just one dead pixel. One pixel is off the warranty until 5 and even it is 5 and the services agrees to change the panel, the phone couldn't be assembled as good as it used to be.So I decided not the see the dead pixel.
I have same issue
there is a reversed color pixel in my galaxy note display
it's visible in most background colors and just invisible in red and black back color.
this pixel is red in most times.
mines blue top right corner and you cab only see it when your screen goes in sleep mode

Try rapidly changing colors on screen it helps the stuck pixel to come back to life if it's really a stuck pixel. Never get only your screen replaced it's real bad, most of them don't fit the screen proper, dust gets in and it'll irritate you more than the current stuck pixel. Get the phone completely replaced if you can. 1 stuck pixel is mostly ignored under warranty terms, but give it a try
Hi Guys, I have had my Samsung galaxy S4 for 3 days now and i have noticed a line of pixels going from the top to the bottom on the right side of the screen. Its a perfectly straight line and about 1 pixel wide, It goes all the way down the screen and is always there. It sometimes flickers and if i take the battery out and turn the phone back on disappears but always comes back after a few minutes. I will try and provide a picture if anyone wants to see it but it is very hard to see on pictures.
Thanks for any help guys!
You can't do much about it. Go and replace it while it's not too late.
I would replace it
¡¡So say we all!! from my GT-I9505
for me i wanna check is this a problem or not.. i can actually see the refresh rate of the screen, especially when open swiftkey when i wanna do typing, and also when i open flipboard, if i din open then no problem, becos under sunlight the refresh rate thingy is quite visible, so when i don type, then no problem, when i bring swiftkey out, then i saw the refresh rate. Maybe other apps also have such things but tis two are visible to my eyes.
I bought my galaxy s4 few days ago from private store. Yesterday i notice a green dot which seems like a stuck pixel, however from what i have read i understand that OLED screen doesn't have stuck pixels. I tried to run fix and detect dead pixel from the store but it didn't work. It seems to appear on ceratins color like white grey yellow and ironically green. On blue, red and purple however it looks all normal. Today after i received some push update from whatsapp it suddenly disappear and all looks great but when i tried to load video from youtube it returned. I can barly notice this dot in the daily use, it appears more strongly when i watch videos.
here's some photos:
about the warranty - I bought it from private store and in their policy they said they don't cover problems in the touch screen\ inner screen, but only manufacturer fault. Also in the offical samsung website it's written that only from 3+ dead pixel a phone device will be replaced:
what do you think i should do?

Live with it.
Dear all,
I wanted to see if anybody else is experiencing the same issue. I have received my S6 Edge+ on Tuesday and a couple of days ago I have noticed the following problem that annoys me a bit.
I am using a lot of video chat (Kakao Talk if that matters) and every day in the evening I notice black edges of the video screen where my own video feed is usually shown on the top right of my display.
The whole square seems to be a bit lighter / more white too. This is especially noticeable if you turn up the brightness. Normally the square goes away until the morning, but its really not pretty to look at the screen during the evening hours.
I don't have enough posts to attach a sample picture, but anyway my Note 3 camera can't quite capture what I am seeing. When I look at it, there is a noticeable "more white" square with darker edges.
If anybody is interested in seeing it, I can PM you the imgur link.
So my question is: Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Maybe with a different AMOLED phone? Did the problem go away after some time or did you exchange your phone?
I am a bit hesitant to send it in, as since the problem usually goes away over night, they won't see the same issue when my phone arrives at the service center.
If you want to check your screen I suggest to turn the brightness up and use either a white background or "Screen Test and Fix" from the Play Store
Thank you in advance for your time and input.

Not sure if this is the exact case (I didn't read the complete article), but you should look at this :-
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/save-screen-prevent-burn-in-amoled-screens/
Also use the code *#0*# on dialer to verify the screen with each colored pixel one at a time.
Resurrecting a very old thread, but I just burned the "Samsung Galaxy Edge+" text from the boot up onto my screen, which sucks. Bought the international model off Swappa used, so no warranty. Was my own fault, tried flashing a custom recovery onto the phone but it didn't work and got stuck on that bootup screen (which is max brightness, which made it even worse). I was doing something else at the time so couldn't get to my phone, it was probably left like that for about 30 minutes only and that was enough to burn the text into the screen....... WEAK.
Currently trying one of those screen burn-in fix apps from the Play Store, we'll see if it works.....
S7 Edge Screen goes Black after "Galaxy S7 Edge" Splash Screen on Startup! Help!
I've had my S7 Edge for quite a while, since August, actually. It was a great phone until December. While I was watching YouTube the screen got a rainbow tint to it. After instinctively holding the power and volume down, I let out a sigh of relief when I saw the splash screen that said "Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Powered by Android." My joy was quickly eradicated when the screen flickered once and turned black. It was still registering my presses, as I could feel it vibrate. I reset it using device manager on my N6P and it displayed the Android Robot that said erasing under it perfectly fine. I was thinking it was a software or firmware issue, but i'm unsure at this point. It was dropped about two months before it quit working, and only suffered minor cracks in the screen. I don't know what to do, as AT&T won't repair or replace it because it was part of a buy one, get one deal. Thankfully I have my Nexus 6P to fall on, but I still need this phone. Thanks in advance for any help!
EDIT: The phone ended up melting, and nearly exploded, and Samsung is replacing it. Problem Solved
