Hi,
Been trying to work out how to format my memory card in the S8 but can't find any options for this.
Anyone have any ideas or shall i do from my pc instead?
Hi yes it can be done on the phone. I did mine last night.
Settings, Device Maintenance, Storage, Menu (storage settings), click on SD card then format.

I don't have that option.
My camera app also seems to be missing couple options too.
Which of the options does yours not show

not sure if you are using another launcher other than touchwiz but i was using nova launcher and could not see those options either so i went into settings/apps/nova launcher and cleared default setting, then went back to using touchwiz as default launcher then format option showed up

For me it works like this:
Settings > Device maintenance > Storage > SD Card
There tap the three dots in the top right corner and select 'Storage settings' and select 'SD card', which brings up information about the space occupied and an entry 'Format'.

Hi, I reformatted the SD card on my HD2 using the advice in post #7 of this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297780
I use the magldr >> usb storage function and then used this tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=918170
Now Zune will not recognize my device when i try to connect
Any ideas what i should do?
Thanks
what do you want to do?
your phone has WP7 on it but a big chunk of its memory/os is missing.
---------- Post added at 09:00 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:34 AM ----------
OK assuming you want WP7 on your device, switch it off, re-insert sd card and switch on, when magldr 12345 is on screen hold vown volup+voldn then after new screen press voldn twice.
Then follow the rom instructions or try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1246040.

Are you using the same SDcard that gave you the problems in the first place?
Robbie's advice should do the trick for sure. (Unless you are using that same SDcard that gave you problems in the first place...that will not work on WP7)
I've never seen it happen that an SDcard can cause ZUNE not to connect by the way...

The phone is probably asking to replace the correct sd card, and so won't sync.
I wouldn't sync either after a lobotomy
After a hard reset with sd in or out (depending on upgrade stage) the phone should reorganise itself and then be able to sync.
Whether the sd is useable, we may never know

Hi thanks, i did a bit more reading and found out how WP7 actually works. Thanks for the link. I have a separate problem with my phone now, it crashes when making calls. But this is a hardware issue so i'll have to see if i can get it fixed or give it back to the friend i bought it from.

Hi, Thanks. The link i put in to the other threads were not talking about me or my memory card. I was just researching and trying to figure out how to get windows 7 to show the full SD card size. But that doesn't matter now i have bigger problems with the phone.
My sd card is 32gb and formatted to fat 32 and is recognized by the phone I can browse it and everything but neither TWRP or cwm will recognize it. Any ideas?

I had this problem. Then I found out that storage locations are set up differently vs. my previous device. From a swipe screen in TWRP, touch on internal storage and you should be able to select your micro sd card. It isn't possible to navigate to it from internal storage.

Yeah I tried that but it won't let me select micro SD in TWRP. In Cwm it just says unable to mount external

Hmm, I thought it would be an easy fix. I seem to recall seeing a thread a few weeks ago on exact the same problem regarding a 64Gb card on this device.

I Never use amrullz script or partition, but can you give me that Undelete app Link?
If you have computer then use disk digger... It is powerful.... And undelete free version can only help recover photos. It's on play store
Disk digger is there for android too. But devs themselves suggest that comp version is powerful

Hidden File
There are some folders and files that are hidden inside the SD Card. The user cannot see it directly. If your files are hidden and you want to see them again, follow the following steps:
1. Goto My Files
2. Press Options and select more
3. Then press Settings
4. And enable Show Hidden Files
After that, go back to the SD Card and see if you get back the files that you found missing.
If you still can't get it, follow Undelete apps to get those files back.
P.S. I am a newbie.
I am having a serious issue.
On ES Explorer it shows:
I have a 64GB memory card in the phone and it has 18GB free
Internally of the 32GB I have 11GB free.
However, when I go to the Storage option it shows that I only have 1.25GB free on my internal card. This number goes to 200mb when Google Drive is installed:
Applicatiuons-2.71gb
Picutres,videos 424mb
Why is there such a massive discrepancy? Anyone have any idea how I can fix this? When I open Miscellaneous files it says System Memory 28GB then Whatsapp 749MB and Canon CW 650MB. Ok lets say I delete that but where is the other 28GB? See Misc files below. It has to be reading incorrectly in someway since my file apps show a lot more data free.
Google Drive shows 832mb used - in the app it says max cache size 50mb. All I can think is that I uploaded a 800mb video file to my drive from my phone and now its downloading this. I deleted the cache but when I start the drive back up it goes back to 800mb
found a .pictures folder but it had 1GB. After deleting available data stays the same.
I am really at a loss here, ES file explorer states I have 11GB free anyone?
How in the world is Miscellaneous files using 28GB!?!? Come on, its obviously being read incorrectly and causing me issues

What ROM are you on?
It seems that you have 30GB of "Misc files" - if you click on those you should get more details.
Also in the future make an effort and post in Q/A stuff that is exclusively about your problems.
Try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.levelokment.storageanalyser

Ok,
When I click Misc files it just shows System Memory 28.1GB, System Storage has to be reading this incorrectly somehow

What ROM? On my MJ7 (EU) when I click on Misc. files it shows a (very long) list by file extension / app.

I forgot to ask - do you have Safestrap on it?

Downloaded the analyzer app:
It shows everything basically free I can't figure this out, the only thing I can thing of is look at my 2 system partitions /system /data but those have a lot free too.
Phone is using Jelly Beans custom rom v5
Android Base 4.3
Baseband is: N900VVRUBMJE
Safestrap is on, how would I move the rom to the stock slot? Someone mentioned that if its not this is the cause of the issue... Doesn't make sense but is there a way to move it?

Maybe it is a good idea to ask in the Safestrap thread? And generally to ask in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-note-3
instead of here, where is the international Note 3 forum? You know, SLIGHTLY different phones/partitions/bootloaders/software and so on
So I just rooted and applied the SD card write permissions fix, but apps still won't write to the SD card.
Am I missing something here?
EDIT: Ok, I thought I had rebooted after applying the fix, but I hadn't and now it works. Delete this if you can MODS.

we are using the same model, we used the same app also for fixing sd card. I've rebooted for 5 times now, no go……how is this so?
I have all my TiBkp on SD card, Ti can't recognize it at all……driving me nuts.

nevermind bro, i have to change preference first and restart Ti in order to make it work.
it won't work just by flashing it in with a backup zip~~~
