Hi all,
After having a while WP7, Im convinced that Android is more usable... anyway its my judgment. However, I have MAGLDR 1.12 but when I flash an Android ROM, it says successful, but it doesn't boot up, it gives some 'yaffs2' error.
In this situation, I can install back WP7, but cannot flash NAND android.
Any help please?

Thnx a lot, it worked
Also, some ROMs require MAGLDR 1.13 so be sure you update.

I want to do the same. What about tht SD card. I heard that the SD card was specially formatted for Windows Phone and the only way to reformat it was in a Nokia phone. Is this true? What do I need to do/prepare to my SD card currently in my HD2 WP7 phone so that it is clean and I can install Android to it?

I formatted my card in my Cannon digitall camera did not tryed with nokia, but hey,try with everything u have that supports sd/microsd cards...
I went from android name to wp7. Wp7 was cool but I felt like I was limited after coming from android. Anyway, on the switch back to android I realized wp7 over wrote everything. I had to go all the way back to wm6.5, then flash magldr, then clockwork, then my rom. What a pain! I tried everything I knew of to not have to go through all those steps but its the only way I could get myself back "home".... in android

1) I've read other's who have had a similar problem. Search the forums. I believe it has something with residuals from previous ROMs. Try task29 before flashing.
2) Seriously asking this???? You use Zune to put content on to your phone! WP7 works through Zune. Have you not read any of the "how-to install WP7" write-ups and the requirements for syncing with your PC?
It isn't any different from what you did with WM6.5, just a different interface.
Ignore him, i dont know why his ranting on about zune and WM6.5
But he is right in that this is covered on here already
Try searching for "200MB" on the search this forum tool, heres a couple to get you started.

I didn't look at the links, but it basically has to do with how WP7 formats your SD card. It can be reformatted in a way that reflects the size of the card. I can provide you with more help if you'd like.

ah yes, sorry bit of an assumption made there! you will need to hard reset and install again, or reflash, its up to you, on the positive side, with only 200mb storage you'll not have lost much. your activation code if you have one should still work

you need to reflash the rom as wp7 foramts and partitions the card during setup, if you change the sd card then wp7 loses its settings and you need to reinstall

The Hd7 will become king of the hill once they crack it wide open, theres little difference between the two of them but the HD7 with its more vibrant screen does look a bit better. I still long for the day someone can get WM booting of an SD card, via magldr that is. however in saying all of that, dispite the HD2s drawbacks i still think it has the edge at the moment, purely because there is little that wont work with it, but least you gave it a shot. Good luck with the HD7

i guess thats one of the issues that has to be dealt with then using an os not designated for the device, there will always be quirks and issues
well if you would have read what your doing when installing windows phone 7 you would have known that this happens.
windows phone 7 doesn't support sd cards, thats why the card is formatted when installing it and you have only 200mb left. the rest of the card is in wp7s discformat and you can use it as your internal storage.
so when you farmatted your sd card to get back your 16gb as fat partition you deleted system files of wp7 that were on the card. that's why this error occured.
if you would read the instructions in the rom threads and the stickies you would have known all this. everything is clear and easy when you inform yourself before starting with something and there are a lot of threads explaining everything in detail.
Hey guys,
I have kind of a bad time figuring out what the requirements for Windows Phone 7 are. I checked my SD card (Kingston 4GB Class 4) - Seems to be working.
I read sth. about WP7 encrypted SD Cards. Does that mean that I have to unlock them somehow after they are formatted for Windows Phone?
Now I'm wondering which rom I should install. I would go for Tango, but I'm wondering if the experience is the best, since it's not released yet. So which Rom is the most reliable? (Mango or Tango)
And how should I partition the NAND? Can I use the NAND toolkit for that?
Besides activating the rom, do I have to mind anything else?
Do I always have to update via a Windows machine?
Thanks in advance!
PS: Right now I'm on Android with clk installed.
Any "compatible" SD card is fine with WP7 ut it is recommended to use 8gig or even 16gig card since most of the apps are a it huge. WP7 installs on NAND so what ever you need from there make a backup/ copy of it.
if your phone has HSPL 2.08 just press the Vol Down & Power & you will see a tri-color screen with HSPL 2.08
this is what I did to install Tango
- HSPL 2.08
- Task 29
- Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14
- MagLDR
- MagLDR Repartition 300/ 45
- Magldr
- Service
- Clear SD MBR
- uselast24NAND
- USB Flaser
- Flash WP
- Done!
if still the error persist try replacing the SD card coz mine had a problem with Trancend's 16gig card.

I use HD2Owner Tango Build. It's rock stable and fast. Android can't beat it. Advantages bsides speed and simplicity are excllent camera and 720p video recording. Battery life is pretty decent, too.
Installation is different to Android NAND. All you have to do is HardSPL you phon, install proper Radio and Task29 before installation. When you finished HD2Owner Rom download (see my signature), there'll be a DWI.exe which need to be run while your HD2 is connected through 4. USB Flasher
But everyone tell as about something other.. once you need to click Services > uset last NAND and sth. about SD... next doesn't tells it.
How long can take first boot with 16GB card? I installed Tiger.. go sleep and mornign nothing change (about 6h of "loading system"). Now I fight with that whole day and nothing... Android is simple like 2+2, but WP7 is more complicated.. Once it says "you have wrong SD" other time it doesn't start. It's fak up to my brain...
I've Euro Leo 512MB and Kingston 16GB mSDHC cl4! and I looked into topic about SD cards and other posted about this card in positive.
I did every tutorial from this forum.. noone works for me
My neighbor bought Samsung Omnia W and I want to test this WP7, he is incredibely happy about OS
#EDIT
OK, I install [email protected]'s rom and after 25 minutes od loading system I turn off phone by remove battery and I checked SD card.. nothing changed.. 1 partition fAT32 with my files. But tutorials write about 2 partitions.. 200MB FAT and rest of unidentified to RAID. How to prepare that? Maybe that's the problem.. it's too big card for first run?
The size of your card isn't a problem. When you read in tutorials about 200MB partition and RAID partition, the OS takes care of this, you do nothing.
HD2Owners ROM is a very good place to start with WP7.5 on HD2.
Peace
Edit: ROM installation shouldn't take more than 5 minutes, regardless of microsd card size, once preliminary steps are taken =)
So I do something wrong.. why everyone can have WP7 but not me? You know how many times I do today Wipe Task29? Bllion? more or less
Flashing partitions one by one, flash good radio, flash aMAGLDR 1.13... I think I do everything ok but it's not.
OK, try to install next thousand of times...
#EDIT
LOL by mistake I install without SD card and install correct but one problem.. when I put SD card into phone, it kaboom, have bootloop.
I think the bootloop is because you installed without the sd card.
Reinstall using option 5 in magldr with the sd card in place and it should be good.
Peace
OK I did it, but "Storage card not working", can I set partitions on other device such as PC with gParted? Any idea to which code of partition have this second part of SD? I'm bored of that
I must admit, the partitioning of the SD card by windows can present a serious flaw to rom installation, especially when things don't go according to plan and you end up with an unrecognised SD card.
Do you have a spare one you could use?
Honestly, this would be easiest way....
Peace
---------- Post added at 05:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:26 PM ----------
Is your SD card recognised if plugged into a pc? If so then reformatting is the way forward, then you should be able to use it again. Activekilldisc or gparted, any of those should do it - as long as it is "seen" by the pc.
Peace
Today I kamed new allocation table (MBR too) and make partition whole disk primary fat32, format it in Nokia E71 (like in one of topics like) and phone can't reformat it now to 2 partitions (200MB fat + rest unidentified). I dont know why.
OK I give up, thanx for any help. I back to Android.
Hello..
I'm preparing this friend's phone for Android installation (used to run W 6.5).. I upgraded the SPL to HSPL 2.08, and installed MAGLDR... all of that while the SD Card inside the phone. now the card is not recognizable.. I tried choosing USB MassSTG through MAGLDR, I got nothing.. I tried connecting the card to the computer directly, same thing.. no disk shows in computer or disk manager, and when I try to refresh, it just keeps searching forever.
I installed CWM after that, and nothing new. I have both Windows sync and HTC sync installed on my PC.
Anyone had this problem before? Anyone ever did these steps while the card was in the phone?
I read that WP7 locks the SD card and you can use it only by inserting it into the phone and connecting the phone.. is that also the case with W 6.5? could the card be simply locked? the owner wasn't much of a help since he can't remember ever taking the card out of the phone.
Any help would be much appreciated.

No, Windows Mobile doesn't lock SD cards. And never use mass storage of magldr, it can corrupt (large) files.

Hi,
Let put it simple, i need help to put Android ROM to my HD2 which is still on WM 6.5. I dont use this phone so i dont need to backup anything.
Also i have problem to choose ROM which will go on this device, but i know that i would like to have stable latest version. Why not put it back in use
4.4 have problems with wifi and gps if i have correct info so i need help to select right one and it will be nice to have step by step turtorial because i never didnt modification on mobile phone like this one, iphone is some different story.
Tnx in advance
Reboot your phone and keep pushing volume down, when you are in 4 colors (bootlader) use Task29 to format your device from PC, Connect HD2 to pc let windows install drivers, then execute task29, when you reach 99% keep pushing volume down to boot again in bootlader (4colors). After Task29 instal MAGLRD, when it is installed reboot your phone and when you see go, go, go appear keep pushing on/off botton to boot in MAGLRD, go to flashable mode and install Recovery CMW or 4EXT, whatever, before that open flash.cfg file with Note and set up the file like the developers asking on they roms threads, (Partition 200mb, Cache 2mb exc) when you installed recovery put the Rom zip file which you like to sd, format your sd from pc before do that, then boot in MAGLRD, when you are there boot in recovery and select flash from zip in installation, done, enjoy the Rom. After installation reboot your phone 3 times. Flash in this way how many time you like and if you have problems do not ask me.
I run Tytung ICS v3.0 (very stable and fully working) and I get with my 2300mha battery 5 days of normal use. Latest Roms I don't know if they will reach that.
Hit 10 times thanks botton.

MADGLR is needed for Windows Mobile 7 too because it's ported to HD2 like Android buy you have to format your phone with Task29 if you want switch to Android so WP7 will be deleted with MADGLR, so yes, you have to go through all the steps.

HSPL4, Radio, MAGLRD are flashable from PC, put your HD2 in bootloader (4 Colors) and install first HSPL4, then Radio. Do a formatting via Task29 and then install MAGLRD.
Unzip on Pc, connect via usb, flash.
Install Recovery but before that see from Rom Thread which size of partition have to be, set up flash.cfg file with Note, flash recovery from MAGLRD in flashable mode. Then put the Rom in SD and install from Recovery. Read my first post. Hit, hit, and hit again thanx.

Actually 2GB is a bit low of storage, any class 10 should be ok, you don't need more because the bandwidth of the microSD slot is low anyway.
I got 64GB Samsung Pro UHS-1 formatted in FAT32 on my HD2 and working flawlessly but the only way to let it work the SDXC 64GB on HD2 is to format the card with Guiformat.exe in FAT32 with 32768 Unit Size (cluster).
Ext4 partition is needed only if you use a script (data on ext) or a Rom with Data on Ext because that partition will be used by Android to install the applications on SD so for example if you have a 32GB MicroSD you have to partitioning the card with Mini Tool Partition Wizard Home free and make 2 partition on sd, 1 in EXT4 of 4GB and 26GB in normal FAT32, remember 2GB is taken by the system so the 32GB effectively will be 30GB only. All SDHC are already in FAT32 so you will not have to format them, only SDXC are in extFAT so you have to switch to FAT32.
If you don't have different SD just leave that card in FAT32 and install the rom and when you go out of storage you can move the Application to SD. You can also format the all card in EXT4 and let Android use it as internal storage, because this how it will be if you install the Rom with Data on Ext so you will have 2GB of storage instead of 750MB.

For the start it's ok but actually newest Roms are not fully working or they have problems, update to newest it's not the best choice sometime.
My rom is ICS 4.0.4 and I play on this rom with Most Wanted, N.O.V.A 3 and 9MM so I can't ask more. Remember also the HD2 have a limited hardware so do not pretend more.

..hahah..nice Rom the GB HyperDroid CM7 v6.0.0 but actually out there is the newest version v6.0.1 which have more features. That was my second or maybe third rom and it's good for overclokking but actually you go no where with that Rom.
The kernel is not evolved very well and you will never play with that Rom on Most Wanted or 9MM, forget N.O.V.A 3. .
Just let me know one thing, go to menu where you scroll all applications and rotate to landscape, where the icons goes?
@daracg I saw now that thread of my Rom, it's closed due to lack of support for Tytung so the Mods removed the Download links but actually I got a zip of that Rom so if you want to try it let me know, I will try to upload for you and send you a link via PM because probably I can't post it here. I never upload anything because of my low internet upload so we can figure out some way. Just let me know.

All heaviest Games are not free and most hungry Game it's N.O.V.A 3, it's a kind of Crysis on mobile phone.
Free heavy Games which I tested are Dead Trigger, Dead Trigger 2 and Frontline Commando.
Remember the HD2 have some hardware limits so you can't pretend to much from it but a good kernel help a lot and one of them it's Tytung kernel.
JUST FOR INFO GUYS
This is what I get with my rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611064
I'm lost !

I am glad I can help.
Go in other threads and Hit everywhere you see me.
With Volume Up and Down you can scroll and select the options, if you read carefully what I said few times you will know what to do. Select Option 5) USB Flasher, connect to PC and install Recovery. When you did that, boot into MAGLRD, then in Recovery and install any Rom. Read all the steps. Hit, Hit and Hit 10 times, Thankx botton (just because you avoid months of seraching how to do it )
BTW after flashing Recovery to boot into it select option 8.
