I have no Idea how to start but I will throw in whatever I have so far.
I ordered sim unlock from samsungsimunlock.com for $26 ($13 original price and $13 Pending Amount for Hard Locked phone). This morning I was provided the Unlock Code and an app called Network Unlock which looked like T-Mobile's device unlock app but was non functional. The instructions were clear, install the app and enter the unlock code when prompted, but only ended up with no Sim Unlock.
I checked Service Menu to find an option to enter Unlock Code but it was missing Phone Control menu option since T-Mobile restricted unlocks to their app.
Now I am wondering if I would be able to flash Verizon or ATT firmware and be able to enter the Unlock Code. I know people are still trying to figure out ways to install the firmware through Odin and no one has been successful so far. But I was just wondering if I would be able to change firmware to different carrier which has the option to enter unlock code.
Any replies or help would be really appreciated. And I can use my T-Mobile phone as test device if anyone has ideas.
You have to go through Tmobile's app if you have it locked to Tmobile's sim. Flashing another firmware may work but not guaranteed

I am facing the same problem...paid the $26.00 and got the code with the instructions. Followed everything and their app showed "Device is Permanently Unlocked" but when I tried another SIM card the phone showed that it was invalid and to use the T-Mobile unlock app
Working with the support people from samsungsimunlock.com right now but things don't look promising...
Did you reach out to samsungsimunlock.com or did you request a refund?
There code does not work at all and they are bs. I used blowfish unlocks and was able to get a code for the phone to be unlocked. The code works when you flash the rom for testing the phones. It accepts the code but when you reinstall the T-Mobile software the phone stays locked.
T-Mobile and there bul**** app... the app unlock server is down and I don't know if it will come back online. We will just have to wait for root and a unlock method
Just used the T-Mobile unlock app. It's been exactly 44 days since first use on the TMo network, so I gave it a shot. Easy peasy! Only needed a restart.
i just carried unlocked my s8+ from tmo,i send a message to T-force and they help me to unlock my phone in just 10 min,im from mexico and i bought it in brownsville tx
this site i explained to the after reading this and before ordering, they guaranteed me my phone will be unlocked which they failed to do ,now they dont reply to emails nor do they want to grant my refund requested

Just curious but when you said the code works when you flashed the rom for testing, did you try and then flash another carrier's rom (like AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon) rather than re-install the T-mobile software? Was it able to pick up a signal after it accepted the code while you were not on the T-mobile firmware?

Does that means if I flash another carrier's firmware phone will work? Or what do you mean by rom for testing?

SamsungSimUnlock.com are a SCAM!!!
Dear XDA people looking to unlock your phones,
The post below, is just a copy of this post (ht tps://forum.xda-developers. com/showpost.php?p=73084963&postcount=117), but for convenience I've copied it here:
Do not, again, DO NOT use samsungsimunlock.com. They scam people into sending them codes. I was scammed out of $26. Their website states they refund the money if it doesn't work, they don't.
Here is what happens (I've broken it down in a number of steps):
1. You go to their website, and order an unlock code. It states that it is $13. Great. You then wait.
2. You receive this e-mail:
Dear xxxx,
we have checked your order and found that the Unlock Code for your Samsung phone is available in our 'High Range' database because your carrier has locked your phone with a highest level of encryption (almost all new models like s8/s8+ are hard locked)*and we have*to use a Special New 2017 Unlocking Tool (which cost more than normal)*to get the correct*unlock code for your hard locked*Samsung phone.
The final cost for unlocking your phone is*$26.00
Below are the details of your order:
Phone Model
Samsung Galaxy S8 (Vodafone_UK_server#2)
*
IMEI#
358793/08/000000/5
Paid Amount
$13.00
Pending Amount
$13.00
To finish the unlocking process for your Samsung phone*please click on this link*and pay additional $13.00 to make the total amount*$26.00
*
Kindly note:*the new price for the unlock code ($26.00) is still the lowest for your Samsung phone which is locked by the high level of encryption. We guarantee that you will not get official correct unlock code cheaper than this cost on any other website.
*
Thank you

3. You click the link, pay, then wait a few hours, and then you receive this e-mail:
Dear, xxxxxx

4. You download the app, enter the code, and it says that your phone is permanently unlocked. You are happy, restart the phone, enter new sim, and find out that the phone is not unlocked at all.
You find out that the app is just a dummy app, and it doesn't matter what code you enter, it always says that it's permanently unlocked. It never is.
5. You reply to them, tell them that the code is not working, and they stall with various e-mails.
Stalling e-mail one:
Dear customer,
*
we’ve got unlock code for your phone directly from Vodafone server and this code is
in 100% working condition, it`s official factory sim unlock code provided by official carrier employees.
Seems like the problem on your side. Here is some useful recommendations.
*
Very often unlock code is not working because our customers flashing on
their phones custom ROM`s which includes custom basebands. These
changes in the structure of the radio module (baseband) are not acceptable
to unlock and this may be the reason why our code is not working. So
please make sure that your phone using original stock ROM and original
baseband firmware and your phone never was modified before.
*
Also here is some helpful advises:
-Try to reset your phone to factory settings.
-Make sure that sim card is not locked by PIN or PUK code
-Make sure that sim card which you put in your phone is activated and has
positive amount
-Make sure that your phone was not lost or stolen before because IMEI may be blacklisted
-Contact a person who gave\sold you this phone and ask make sure that phone was not refubrished by manufacturer before.
*
Additionally please contact your network operator, the problem also may be
in the high level of lock encryption for your sim card. Please ask
your carrier to change the level of encryption to normal that`s will make an
unlock code compatible with the sim card which you trying to activate.
*

All this time, I've complied with their requests for screenshots and stuff. So, after eight e-mails, it's easy to conclude that this is just a tactic.
I waited more than two weeks for them to comply with the refund. They haven't.
6. You go on XDA forums to warn other users not to use them, because this is the place where I found that site, which was probably plugged by the scammers themselves.
7. Find another reputable Unlock code provider.
Ultimately I did find a website, and they sent me a code which worked flawlessly. I'm not stating which one it is, so that this post doesn't seem like it's from someone trying to promote a website.
So, there you have it folks. I have an unlocked phone, but my back account is $26 lighter.
If you have $26 that is just itching to leave your bank account, donate it, or buy some random person some flowers. Do not use samsungsimunlock.com
I will update this post if I hear back from SamsungSimUnlock.com
I got scammed too...
Any chance you can PM me the URL of the site that worked for you?
I've been waiting 4 weeks now for a working code from samsungimunlock.com after also paying $26....

Why would flashing another carriers firmware do anything?
Did you put in a non T-Mobile mobile sim? If so were you prompted to enter an unlock code?
Hey peeps,
loaded the unlocked firmware onto the phone, so far so good, its now asking for an unlock code, which is what I want. Any recommendations for a reputable seller?
I've come from tmo where you're supposed to use the app, but if what Sheon849 says is correct, should be able to unlock with a code now...
Any suggestions welcome!

I have read in another thread that the HD2 doesn't need a CID unlock like my Topaz did for SIM unlock. The HSPL would do this for HD2!
Well first thing I would like to know is: Is this true?
Second thing is: If this is true, it is also true for T-Mobile US HD2?
Thanks.

Hi. What I do know is that you can get the sim unlock code from T-mobile. I just called them yesterday and asked for a unlock code. They said emailing me the code in 24 hrs. Hopefully they will do.
Is anyone besides me just a little annoyed at the people who say "I just talked to T-Mobile and I should have my code in 24hrs" but not one post actually saying they received their code and their phone is unlocked?
Why even bother posting?
I've been with T-Mobile for years, and they have provided an unlock code for me a number of times. You just have to request one. It used to be that you'd need to have been with them for 90 days, now it's 14 days after you've bought the device or signed a new contract.
Here is the email I got from Tmobile..
T-Mobile Sim Unlock Request
Sim Unlock Reference: XXXXXXXX
IMEI: 3XXXXXXXXXXX
Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. We have forwarded your request to the manufacturer. These requests normally take 24-48 hours, but may sometimes take longer based on circumstances that are not under our control. Please allow 14 days before submitting a duplicate request. If no response has been received after 14 days, please submit a new request.
NOTE: Since T-Mobile is requesting an unlock code from the manufacturer we cannot guarantee the response time or that a unlock code will be provided.
Thank You,

excuse me for being noob, but what do we do with the code after recieveing it?
are we supposed to plug it in somewhere?

Wtf, I called in my request March 25th, and I didn't even get a confirmation email. I called them two times in between, and was told first time wait 24 hours, 2nd time wait 78 hours. I've been on pre-paid sim for over 2 months now too.
my friend still hasnt got his code from T-Mobile..he is getting pissed...i can use my hd2 with all its glory but hes limited to wifi..and let me add it was hell trying to get these phones ugh...but it was so worth the highspeed drives to 2 different towns outside of Houston, Tx..man so worth it lols
I've had three phones unlocked by tmobile. just call them and tell them you're going abroad and you need you phone unlocked. i do not think they will unlock it soon as you get it. the email said you have to have been on the tmobile plan for at least 90 days before requesting unlock code. make sure you verify 3 times your IMEiwith the operators because I've had them get it wrong a few times. its frustrating and delays you getting your code. if all goes well, you get it in bout 24 hours.
I did request and RECEIVED unlock code from TMobile for about 10 times w/o much problem. Those code DO work and you dont need to reenter them after soft/hard reset.
They DO check that you are with them for 90 days. In fact you can request 1 unlock code every 90 days. Just call and tell that you are going overseas and need your phone to be unlocked. They will try to offer you those terrible "international" deals. Deny them, nothing beats local SIM
As been said - verify IMEI code and your phone model several times with TMO Rep, because couple times they DID send me wrong codes.
They send you email with unlock code and ALSO unlock INSTRUCTIONS specific for your phone.

If you've purchased outright and are a current pre/postpaid customer, there's not waiting period, as listed on their policy.
Thanks for all the replies guys.
My problem is a little different. I'm intending to buy a HD2 from T-mobile while in US this April, BUT I'm from Brazil and I do not intend to have a plan with T-Mobile US. I would like to have my HD2 unlocked so I could use it in Brazil, if TMOUS can't do it or won't do it because I won't have a plan with them, how can I do it? Does anyone know a unlock store in Miami ou Orlando?
I'm not willing to do it from internet sites, I really don't trust them to give my IMEI.
Thanks.

Hey guys just an update, I got this email today trying the unlock code and it worked.... I am now using my HTC HD2 on the Bell network in canada
T-Mobile Sim Unlock Request
Sim Unlock Reference: XXXXXXX
IMEI: XXXXXXXXXX
Unlock Code: XXXXXX
Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. Below you will see the Instructions for unlocking your HTC device.
1. Insert the foreign SIM card
2. Power on the device and the display should read "Please input unlock code"
3. Enter the unlock code and the device should display "Phone is unlocked."
4. Allow the phone to scan the network (or manually click on the antenna icon to do this)
It is very important that the instructions and SIM unlock code are entered correctly as listed. If you receive an error message while performing the instructions do not make any further attempts to unlock the handset. I don't have an account with Tmo... I bought the phne outright, faxed them the reciept and recieved the code 48 hours later via email
I thought I might have to wait for the 14 day buyers remorse period but that was not the case.
I guess it helped that I told them I live in Canada and could not go back to the USA to return the phone anyways

I paid for my phone in full from a T-Mobile dealer. I have ATT and I told their phone rep this when I called TMo. They painlessly provided me with the unlock code after I faxed a copy of my receipt of purchase. The code works perfectly fine and the phone connected to ATT immediately.

My heart has just broke, The HTC HD2 will NOT work on Bell Mobility Network, if you want this phone is Canada you must have a Rogers Card. I put it my friends Rogers Sim card and it worked, my Bell Sim does not.
My loss will be some other Canadian's gain.... I will be selling it (tear)
i just saw a lot websites that unlock tmob hd2 for 30-40$. can we really trust them. i mean does the unlock code which they send work well and stabile. and which one you know we can trust?
thanks...
you can request the lock code from tmobile but you also need a sim card from other carrier or the one you going to use. once you place the sim card(can be from att) a screen appears to enter the lock code. thats all.
actually it's my friend's phone and he maybe called t-mobile 10 times. they send a unlock code but it didn't work. he called them many time again but they still didn't send anything... that's why i'm looking for a web site i can trust...

Actually, you can make that code entry window pop up even without another carrier's SIM, just run "SIMlock.exe" from your windows folder.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Before choosing option 2 or 4 (G2 CAN NOT register to networks), open Settings > Wireless > Mobile Networks and attempt scanning for networks. If any networks appear in the list, pick option 1 or 3 regardless of whether you have voice/data access. Also, you may wish to try multiple sims, including the T-mo us sim included with the G2 package.
If you entered a subsidy unlock code in your T-Mo G2, please choose one of the poll options above. The purpose of this thread is to determine whether the source of the subsidy unlock code has any correlation with recent reports of G2s being rendered unable to register/see networks. My code is from unlock-now.com and I got the same code from freeyourhtc.com
I can not search for or connect to any network (as you probably all know by now)
(and sorry I did not read properly that I should only post if I select "Other")

It's fine, i'm just tryin to keep all the discussion in the other thread so we don't end up splitting the topic.
Results look inconclusive so far. Looks like we might be hunting down this radio problem for a while.
this poll should be Pin on top, otherwise will be down to 2-3 pages and ignore
I am very interested to see the results of this. I'm currently in Japan and waiting on the unlock code.

Stuck
Is there any resolution to this problem? I bought an unlocking code from
Free Your Htc Unlock Code Server <[email protected]>
I entered the code, it confirmed unlocked and rebooted. Now can't see any network with the original T-mobile SIM or local network. Want to use this unlocked phone here in Brazil.
Called HTC support, they say talk to T-mobile. Am I stuck?

I certainly hope your not the last haha
If you need a code for your G2. PM me.
I can help you.
I got a code from TMO and i tried to use it but the code would not work. I figured it was becasue i got it for one G2 and use it for another G2.
Was going to wait until im settled on a good G2 before i asked for another unlock code but from what im reading it sounds like these codes will work on any phone.
Is that correct??
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App

Code is unique to each IMEI. If you give T-mo the IMEI for G2 #1, it will only work for G2 #1. Entering it in G2 #2 will be pointless and possibly even dangerous if you attempt to enter the incorrect code too many times.
No luck
Got code from third party unlocking solution. Entered the code. Successful unlock message, reboot.
Now NO SERVICE. can not search for and register for any network.

Thanks that's what I figured.
So these other unlock codes must be a different type of code?
Other
I have an unlock code from T-Mobile (that matches my IMEI).
When I entered it, I got "unlock PIN: Unlock success, reboot immediately!! OK"
I pressed "OK" but the phone seemed to hang at that point. (The OK button stayed highlighted.)
After a minute I pulled the battery and rebooted. When it came back up (with foreign SIM still inserted) I got the "Enter unlock code" message. I didn't want to try again due to T-Mobile's warning that there are a limited number of attempts until the phone is permanently locked. (T-Mobile later told me the number was 3.)
After this, I put the T-Mobile SIM back in and it worked fine.
I called T-Mobile and after talking to four customer service reps, they finally found a memo describing this as an active problem and that they were working on it. I won't try again until I hear from them (or I get a software update.)

[Guide] You CAN unlock your Streak 5 after "network locked" (10 failed pin tries)
Great news everyone. I can 100% CONFIRM this works as I just did it on my Streak 5. The streak 5 I have was "network locked" meaning someone tried to put the code in 10 times and perm locking it to AT&T. (Normally carriers cant do anything and yea, go ahead try to go though dell or send it in...)
Anyways I used http://www.unlockstreak.com/ It costs 29$ for a registration code to unlock, using their software. (Which is the software you find all over google)
Now here is the trick. Once you get your code, You would put the code in like this: REGCODE,unblock
its IMPORTANT the ,unblock part is all lowercase! Then run the unlock phone option. You will go into fastboot mode as instructed, it will run through. (If you get a Java error or server error, turn off your AV or Firewall. I had to "pause" kaspersky to do mine)
It should come back saying its unlocked. Now let the DS5 reboot, then run the unlocker again WITHOUT the ,unblock in the regcode. It should send the image and say "waiting for reboot" However.. your PC may gripe saying "unrecognized usb device" Dont fret, just cancel the thing, then pull the battery out, pop in your sim card, boot up. It should be unlocked now fully. =) I know my T-Mobile sim is working in mine now. So this is 100% confirmed working by me. =)
So leaves us the community a question.. it seems to "unblock" the attempts for a network unlock code is a fastboot flash image file.. doesnt touch the rom any or so that you do. Would be cool if a dev could look into that, seems this program all it does is send an image file that resets the code attempts, reads the code and also applies it for a user. So makes me wonder.. if you already know the code from dell or so, should be a way to fastboot send that info yourself without having to pay 29$
Anyways still worth 29$ to actually manage to unlock it after it was permanent blocked to the network.
If this helps you, please consider using the alt link here
http://curebit.com/x/5fTsB (Which will give YOU 3$ off and me 3$ back heh) Seems however they only do this offer for 1 day per order. So I ask if you DO order, post a reply with a new link to allow other members of XDA to enjoy the discount and help make it cheaper for everyone. =)

Is it work with code purchase fro another site or only with code purchased from unlockstreak?
Not sure, I mean it might work with another site and you can always try in the app since the app itself is free. However I think their app since it goes by registration code to utilize the program...

So, is it posiible to find another app, which are doing the same. Because, i have a code purchase from another site, but it did not work. Show the mesage that unlock done and Please purchase an unlock from our website. And phone still locked.
Then maybe just use the stuff from the site I posted. Least I did confirm 100% that a network locked DS5 did manage to unlock and undo the 10 tries thing. Might suck to buy another code, but least you would be happy it worked.
I recently purchased this phone (about 3 days ago) and i have rooted and put Gwiz v1 boot loader onto it. It runs very well, but the t mobile service in my area is abysmal. The t mobile device unlock doesn't work, and neither t mobile or Walmart will unlock it until it's been on their plan for 90+ days without issues.
I want to switch to AT&T towers on straight talk, but that sim isn't able to be used until I unlock it. If i were to purchase an unlock code, where would I enter it? I've got developer mode on, if that makes any difference.
Friendly bump.
I haven't unlocked a phone in a LONG time (I just buy them unlocked now), so there's a good chance the process has since changed, but I remember buying the unlock code and then entering it into the dialer app/calling it. There was then a carrier-specific recorded voice message announcing that the phone's been unlocked.

I don't want to pay for an unlock code I wouldn't be able to use. The guy selling them says that the phone should be asking for an unlock code.

I completely understand... I'd be thinking the same if I were in your shoes. I did some looking around and it seems like the unlock process is no longer done via dialing a number, but rather via apps - some carriers make available an app where you simply enter an unlock code and the rest of the work is automatic, so please check and see if this applies to you.
If not, the process is going to be somewhat more difficult. You'll probably have to flash some O/CFW, root the phone, then install and use an unofficial unlocking app. My dad had to go this route for his Sprint S6 (he's now using T-Mobile). If you're using this detour, try and find, then follow, a tutorial on flashing firmware and rooting your device. I'll post some links if you can't find anything. After doing that, look around for an unofficial carrier unlocker. There's probably several here on XDA, but do note that most of them will lighten your wallet by $20-30 or so. Once you pay the developer, they'll either email you a code or whitelist your IMEI for their app, and send you the apk.
Best of luck, and have a great day.

My phone is rooted and has Gwiz v1 custom bootloader. I haven't seen anything about unofficial unlocking apps, but I tried the official T-mobile unlock app and it didn't work on original or flashed firmware. I tried calling T-mobile, who told me to call Walmart Family Mobile, called them, they told me to call Straight Talk, who told me to go back to Walmart. Straight Talk can't unlock the phone, and neither T-Mobile or Walmart will unlock it until I've been a customer for 3+months.
