Hello guys,
Hope someone is able to help here.
I got Yotaphone 2 YD206 to my hands. It has problem with front screen staying always black. Rear screen says "Turn over the phone to set up". Cannot do it as front screen is always black.
Volume buttons work and power too. Also the phone rings if someone calls me. I can shut down long-pressing power button but device always restarts. I cannot enter download neither recovery mode. Power + VOL down or power + VOL up always reboots the device back to "Turn over the phone set up" -screen (text in rear screen).
I have flasher and Lollipop firmware files. But flasher says <waiting for device>. For me it seems issue with drivers. I have tried several usb drivers (WIN10 laptop) but still no luck. ADB devices command doesn't show any devices connected.
Any ideas? I believe someone might have a trick I have tried yet.
Thanks in advance!
Edit. After fighting hours and hours with flashing I decided to open the phone and found it was just simple hardware issue. LCD flex was disconnected...put it back and phone is alive.

Hello everyone
I have a serious problem here, was about to give up on the phone but there seems to be some hope out of this mess.
Okay, I was doing a task 29 through HSPL4.exe when it stuck up at 24% and gave Rom update error, (details read something like there has been a communication error etc.). The phone screen showed the Rom update failure screen , when I reset the phone it doesn't power up at all. No bootloader, no vibrations or LEDs, nothing.
Only, when I press the red (end call/ power) button and then press volume up for some time, the phone vibrates twice and the green LED lights up, thats it, the screen remains blank.. When I connect it to USB, my PC detects it, but asks for a driver that I don't seem to have, although I do have Activesync installed (i'm using XP).
Please somebody, get me out of this mess, I'd be so grateful.. Thank you.
Did you try booting into that one screen, forgot its name
....the rainbow screen
do u have hd2 toolkit? btw...if you can get into your bootloader there is definitly hope. long live hd2!!!!!!
I am having the same issue however mine came about when my hd2 got wet after that all it does is vibrate once and nothing happens the LED comes up for like a sec and nothing else happens...
Yeah, it doesn't go to the bootloader when I press the vol down button. But it is detected by my computer when I connect it to USB, isn't there a way it could be recovered thru there somehow?
okay so i left my phone sitting for a while and now it vibrates the bottom buttons turn on when i touch them and the led is in orange and my computer recognizes it too but no display at all....
Hy i have HTC Wildfire not rooted or flashed.Today i accidently dropped it on the floor and it turned off when i tried to power it on it vibrated once and looked like its still shut down.Tried Volume up and power on LED turns green phone vibrates 3 times and nothing looks like its shut down just led is still green

Try connecting your phone to your computer and sending adb reboot recovery or adb reboot bootloader through cmd with the drivers installed.
sounds like your device has managed to get into qualcomm diagnostic mode. not sure how to get out of it but use the search bar and see what you can come up with. good luck
This might help, but download different Wildfire-specific firmware, not the one mentioned in the post. I'll have a look to see what they want.
This phone just broke after 3 months of use. Since I brought it off of amazon as unlocked, I do not have warranty on phone. The phone was not dropped nor water-damaged. It was sitting on the table and suddenly experiencing problems with lag. I proceed to turn off and try to restart phone.
The phone does not boot when I press the power button.
What I've tried:
case 1: I removed SD card, removed battery and removed USB cord. Press power button for 10 seconds. Put back battery and press power button
result 1: LED light on. The phone vibrates 5 times. Remains in black screen
case 2: I called my phone number from another phone
result 2: Straight to voice mail. This indicates the software did not even boot up. Hardware display is not the issue here. Most likely a Software issue.
case 3: I hold volume down key and power key to attempt hard-reset
result 3: LED light on. The phone vibrates 5 times. Remains in black screen
Since I routinely backed up my phone data. Last time I've checked (~4 days ago), the SD card was not nearly full. It was approximately 25% used space.
PLEASE HELP!! YOUR HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED!
Are you able to access any of the service menu's such as bootloader or fastboot mode?
If your not aware what those are, there are many references in this forum for you to find information.

No. The screen was all black. But fortunately, the phone was able to turn on after some trial and error.
You remove the battery and USB cord. Then while pressing (and holding) the home button key, you put back in the battery and press the power button. To hard reset, you must press volume down key, home key, and power key at the same time.
Glad that you got your phone working!
Mine continues to remain dead
I had this problem a few months back at first i too thought the phone was dead - but it did make boot vibration noise - but the screen would always remain "black" but after some time and after going into a very dark room i was able to see that the screen was not black, but that the backlight went out on it -- after having my screen replaced the phone now works fine - think i was using cm7 at the time.. hope this might help
Thanks for this tip! I'll check on the phone I had as well. I got to get it back from my buddy.
Hi
I just got iconia a500 but it won't boot. When i press power button, the button lights white but the screen stays black, and after a second or two it just vibrates and the power button lights turns off.
I tried to do the hard reset but it doesn't work.
I tried to enter apx mode, but when i hold power and reset buttons the computer recognizes it and as i release the buttons it disconnects from pc.
No matter whad i do, the screen is black...
Is there something else i can do? I bought it used from cowboom and i didn't test it, now i can't return it because the 15 days has passed :crying:
Tnx

Have you tried connecting from different USB ports? I've heard people struggle with front facing USB ports due to their low power? Anyways, try the ones directly connected to your motherboard.

You shouldn't be connected to the pc while entering apx mode. Enter apx first then connect.
As for being stuck on the black screen...There are hundreds of threads regarding this.
Read the cpuid guide and the root guide in my sig, post there if u need further help

Ok, i will try and post the results

I have installed drives, tried other usb ports but it's the same.
A500manager detects the tablet and after second i hear the sound like when you disconnect the device.
The problem is that it won't stay in apx mode.
So my sister managed to destroy the screen on her J5 (J500FN) and we sent it in for servicing, but they said there was a "software problem". But according to some research i did it somehow got hard bricked. I'm assuming it's something they did as the phone was fully functional (software wise) before going in for a screen replacement.
So i'm wondering, is it possible to restore the software to working condition without a screen (which also means i don't have a home button)? My computer sees it as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader9008" and adb doesn't recognize it at all.
Does Odin mode boot?
No idea. With no screen all i could do was try to blind boot it (home button works even though there isn't an actual screen and an actual button on it) by pressing volume down + home + power and then i pressed volume up in case it needed confirmation. Needless to say odin had no reaction whatsoever.
EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to mention, the phone doesn't vibrate when i press and hold the power button at all, and as far as i remember, most modern phones do that when being turned on.
