Just received my S8 today! Super stoked. Also, before I completely set up the phone, I didn't add any google accounts. I immediately went to disable all the bloatware and preinstalled apps I don't use. Not sure what Verizon did, but I was able to delete most of the bloatware that came on the device! The disable feature wasn't blocked out. Guess Verizon is finally giving the customers what they wanted. Was able to delete the following:
Verizon : Navigator, Caller ID, Cloud, Message+, NFL mobile, Slacker Radio & games
Google: Google Play/TV, Music, Hangouts ( I don't use any of these apps)
can you post a screenshot of what the settings menu looks like? i heard the verizon one looks different than the other carrier ones
Settings screenshots attached
Does the firmware still say it's a U model?
I got my S8 too, I love it beyond my expectations

Yes, G950U
The model for the US versions are all the same except for Carrier specific S/W and bloat. Not much bloatware on VZW except noted in OP and a couple of games which I think are Samsung. There are a couple of Amazon apps which I use but otherwise its fairly clean.
Now to disable Bixby and remap the Bixby key.
Phone feels too narrow even to my smallish hands but very comfortable. No problems navigating so far.

Only Verizon cloud is accessible. I tried using Samsung Cloud via nova shortcuts, but I can't get the backup button to work properly.
FYI, I had uninstalled all of the Verizon bloat I was allowed to right when I got the phone(12pm cst). Just a few minutes ago after opening voicemail (it downloaded visual) I noticed all of the bloat was back and couldn't be uninstalled...
I went ahead and did a factor reset which let me remove it again. I have now disabled DT Ignite which I assume is being used to push the bloat again.

I just wish they would allow us to uninstall all of their crap. I still have Message+, Caller Name ID, VZ protect, and Cloud all of which I don't use. Also have voicemail and my Verizon which I use. So what.. really only got to uninstall a couple better than none I guess. Probably wasn't worth my time.

Stopped by the ATT store yesterday afternoon and got so close to pulling the trigger. Then I remembered that for ~$150 less, I was able to get the 64GB SM-P900 model with the free keyboard offer from Best Buy.
I personally like the idea of being able to use my tablet on the go, but $899 for this 32GB LTE model seems rather steep.
Regardless, I'm still on the edge of picking up this ATT variant and was curious if anyone had done so already or considering the same.
I'm definitely all ears on the pros and cons and would also like to get some feedback with regards to performance, battery life, and firmware updates. I figure that real world performance is negligible between the wifi and lte model, but would like to hear from those that got to use both models.
Thanks in advance.

I picked my AT&T note pro the day it was released (last Friday), and so far I absolutely love it. I have had the Note 10.1 for quiet some time and was a little skeptical about spending $900 just to upgrade. But after just a few days with it I am very glad I "pulled the trigger". The screen resolution is amazing, even compared to the Note 10.1 The speed seems a lot quicker as well, even without root and debloating. As far as battery life I getting around 10-12 hrs of screen time, that's a combination of WiFi and LTE. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the feedback on your experience with the AT&T model of this beast of a tab. I actually picked up the US 64GB version of the P900 use it with a mobile hotspot device and it's been working well for me so far. Still, I'd much rathet not carry around a mobile hotspot just to get online. I just wished they released a 64GB LTE model.

I'm doing the same only with a 32gb model. Choice for me came down to root, at which point it was a no-brainer . . wifi version had it, US carrier versions didn't and I didn't want to risk slower development times for them.
From the looks of it there isn't much development for the wifi version either.

Currently running Pie Controls and GMD Gesture Control to assist in application switching and other quick shortcuts. Not sure if I'll keep both I'm relying on Pie Controls more.
With Titanium Backup I've frozen a bunch of applications including Allshare, ANT applications (3 of them), samsung's backup app, Blurb Checkout, Business Week, Cisco Webex, E-Meeting, ELM Agent, Facebook (I use the web page), FWUpgrade, Gallery (I use Gallery KK), Play Newstand, KLMS Agent, Magazine Widget, Music (I use Google Play Music), My Magazine (I use Nova Launcher, the stock launcher sucks), Netflix, NY Times, Pagebuddy Service, Remote Controls and Remote PC app, Samsung Push Service, Scrapbook (no intention of using it), SideSync (dont have other samsung phones), Software Update, Weather and Briefing.
Freezing those applications keeps them from loading even as cached apps freeing up space in RAM to cache other apps that i frequently use.
In addition I uninstalled all Knox related apps.
For other mods I'm using Xposed Installer to do things like per application DPI settings to render things in smaller fonts, block ads, disable nag screens (location consent, modify share menus, modify complete action windows etc.), control what starts at boot (boot manager) as well as a few other tweaks.

The t-mobile one you can uninstall. I don't have that one on my phone. The sprintDM and verizon backup wouldn't be such a big deal if it was just on the phone but the fact that it runs in the background is the annoying part for me. I'll probably end up needing that Verizon one as I plan on swapping my VZ and Tmobile sims from time to time. I hope 5.1 allows me to just swap the sim in instead of factory resetting the phone.

Wow, people. You should really listen to yourselves. When you have a device that works on multiple carriers, there are ALWAYS going to be carrier specific libraries in order to make things work. Yes, there's a VZWAPN APK. Yes, there's a SprintDM APK, there are also US Cellular-specific APKs in there, and there's probably some very T-Mobile and AT&T specific code if you want to dig for it. Christ, people. You have a phone that works on just about every network in the history of the world. Do you think that all happens just like magic without any involvement from any carrier at all?
And for those of you outside the US, clearly Google doesn't want to have to manage two separate ROMs for the Nexus 6 just over a few APKs, so yeah, your ROM is going to have APKs for US based carriers in it too. Somehow, I think you'll survive.
Come on, now. I know y'all are smarter than this.
I think its funny people are calling it bloat. Like its bing maps, skype or the samsung S apps.

We are smarter than that. That's why we freeze it. . It's just one of the things friends ask me is. Why do you like nexus phones and why should I switch? I tell them that nexus phones don't have all that bloatware carrier phones come with. And while it's still free of bloatware for the most part, I hope it's not a trend in the wrong direction. If they can install carrier apps depending on what carrier Sim, why weren't they able to keep these apps carrier specific? It's not THAT big of a deal for now but like I said I hope it doesn't go in the wrong direction.
My theory is that eventually the upcoming Google wireless service will be compatible across all 4 carriers. Imagine never having a coverage issue because you have a phone that works on all 4 concurrently with one service.
Is anyone else missing some features from the advance feature menus on the verizon s7 edge? I was looking for the switch for the app drawer removal and the switch for the white pages caller id. Is there any way to sideload with out rooting? I cannot root i use samsung pay everyday.

I finally have 7.0 on my Verizon GS7 Edge. I know Verizon blocks some Samsung features, but I was wondering if anyone has a list of everything that is missing. Unfortunately, this is a work phone, so I can't just switch carriers. I had the Note 7 with T-Mobile, but we all know how that turned out. Rather than carrying 2 S7 Edge phones I decided to cancel my line with T-Mo and just rock the one phone for a while. Now I'm wondering if that was a mistake.

I bought my Galaxy S7 Edge a week ago and rooted immediately. I just noticed today that I actually don't have ANY Sprint apps on my phone. This is a mixed blessing... most of them are bloat but some I'd like to have, such as Voicemail (I have no voicemail app right now) and maybe SprintZone.
Is this normal for root users? Or was this because I didn't go through all the setups prior to rooting my phone?
Is there a way to get the apps I need back (or get them from Sprint)? Sprint's website wasn't helpful in getting an answer... and I would search more here on XDA but their search is down right now.

I need Voicemail. I probably want SprintZone. If I even knew what was supposed to come with the phone I may want one or two others, but the voicemail is the biggie.
I'd also like to know if my immediate root played a role in not getting the Sprint apps... for future reference.
Wait. I just "found" Voicemail... it was disabled. Several other apps are disabled, too.
I think I'm alright for a bit until I can figure out what I'm doing.
Most of sprints app are NOT in the play store but baked in the actually stock rom. You'll have to search around for the apk's if you can't find them on your rooted phone.

Many of Sprint's apps are downloaded as part of the activation process, so if you didn't go through that process, it would explain why you don't have them.

I agree with some of the others. I've disabled apps that duplicate those I prefer... Google Messenger and Calendar as compared to the LG counterparts. But there's not nearly the bloat on this phone that Samsung packed into theirs, and the phone seems to run just fine. There's not the lag that my Note 7 had.

Definitely way less bloat than Samsung phones. But it has bloat, that I'd never use, nonetheless. Including a bunch from T-Mobile and several from LG. Some people just love min/maxing, just personal preference.
I agree also. You can disable several apps in settings and its very responsive.

I could stand to ditch the T-Mobile apps. They're a battery drain I do not need.

You can't disable them via the application manager? I know the T-mobile one wouldn't work via Samsung but I think I read somewhere that you don't have an issue on the LG. I haven't got a solid answer yet though.
I think all you need to do with that one is deny the permission then restart the phone. If you log in and accept the permission then it runs. I don't ever remember it in ram unless I specifically logged in and used it. Maybe it does use ram but not enough to notice it on the list

But, things that have worked with V10 have worked with V20. Did you even try it?
This debloater has worked with every phone I've tried it with (G4, V10, S7E, Note 5) so give it a shot before commenting.

I tried the Debloater program. I used to use it on my samsung before I found out about EZ Package Disabler. However on the V20 it only found 1 package. I guess its not working properly
What about LG Access Lock?

great program, but unfortunately it only sees one app, the LGupdate Wizard. I gotta find a way to remove the TMOBILE apps.
